ZERO seems to be the WORD of our TIMES. It is everywhere. Zero this and Zero that. It is all over our groceries, its in the news and on the television. In big, colorful letters so you just can’t miss it. You can hardly escape it. That is by design. ZERO is where we are headed if we don’t wake up and come to terms with the TRUTH.
Words have SO MUCH POWER!! Much more than anyone of us can possibly imagine. “Science” wants to argue that language was something that developed over millions of years. This is a lie, straight out of the pit of Hell. Man did not create language. Language was given to humanity by the Creator. The very first man and woman used words in the Garden. GOD gave humanity the ALEPH – BET. Which became the Alphabet. Originally the written language was in pectoral form. The symbols each had numeric values as well as phonetic and symbolic.
What is important to know is that WORDS have creative power, given by our Creator. The spoken WORD is a gift to us from the throne It enables us to be co-creators with HIM. After all, HE CREATED the World we know by speaking it into existence.
So, it should be no surprise to you to discover that SATAN and his Fallen Angels are doing everything they can to destroy us, using WORDS! The power of Words to create images in our minds is beyond explaining Once you have an IMAGE in your mind, your perspective begins to change and the manifestation of the focus of your thoughts begins
Does that mean that YOU can create your own destiny? Certainly not. GOD is ALWAYS in CONTROL HIS plan for the World will proceed as He spoke it. However, having given us free will, He allows us to make our own choices as to whether or not we will willing participate in the plan He has for us. Our choices, of thoughts, our WORDS each day affect our future. God is always working to reach us. He brings people and experiences into our lives designed to turn our hearts to Him. What we do in response is our choice.
Meanwhile, Satan and His Angels understand the power of WORDS, OF IMAGINATIONS, OF IMAGES and SYMBOLS. These are the tools he uses to distract, deceive, and mislead us. His goal is to pull us away from GOD. His purpose it to KILL, STEAL and DESTROY!! In other words to turn God’s plans and promises for you to NAUGHT and to bring you to NOTHING. TO NEGATE your life. To make you a ZERO. Really to make the whole creation ZERO/Nothing/EMPTINESS and VOID.
John 10

In this post we are going to talk about ZERO, and more importantly how words affect you and me.
Zero, its applied to just about everything in our lives. Here is a short list, there are many more examples. They will very likely become more obvious to you from now on. See how many you come across in your day to day living.
Zero Sugar
Zero Carbs Zero Gluten Zero Fat Zero Beef Zero Dairy Zero Organic Farming |
Zero Gas Guzzling Cars
Zero Population Growth Zero Carbon Emissions Zero Cash Zero Private Property ZERO HEDGE |
We often see the term “Net Zero”. I thought it would be helpful to get an understanding of what the term means.

Net Zero in accounting
Also known as Payable on Receipt or NET 0, cash on delivery means that upon delivery of the goods or services, payment must be made.
IF YOU DANCE TO THE MUSIC…YOU HAVE TO PAY TO THE PIPER!!

NET ZERO and Carbon Neutral and how do they differ?
Net zero is similar in principle to carbon neutrality, but is expanded in scale. To achieve net zero means to go beyond the removal of just carbon emissions. Net zero refers to all greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere, such as methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and other hydrofluorocarbons. Jun 6, 2022

The devil and his crew plant seeds in our minds using images, symbols and letters. He works to change the words we use and how we use them in order to bring condemnation upon us for what comes out of our mouths.
Matthew 15:10-11
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Also, remember that faith comes by hearing… when we hear ourselves form the words, it reinforces and solidifies what we are hearing. The devil and his gang know this as well. And of course, the words we speak have creative power, so that when we speak the words the Devil wants us to speak, we are joining with him in bringing his plans to fruition.
20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The Scary Power of Negative Words

Figure of Speech:
How the Words We Choose Shape Our Lives
Words have power. Their meaning crystallizes perceptions that shape our beliefs, drive our behavior, and ultimately, create our world. Their power arises from our emotional responses when we read, speak, or hear them. (That is not where the power comes from, the power of words is imparted by God) Just say the word “fire” while barbequing, or in the workplace, or in a crowded theater, and you’ll get three completely different but powerful emotional and energetic reactions. ( that is merely evidence of the power words carry)
The Illusion of Life
Quantum physics long ago determined that physical matter doesn’t really exist, (That is hilarious! Anyone who buys that nonsense needs serious help.) that everything is just energy in different states of vibration. Nobel Prize winning physicist Werner Heisenberg once stated, “Atoms or elementary particles themselves are not real; they form a world of potentialities or possibilities, rather than one of things or facts.” This energy vibrates at an infinite number of subtle frequencies that cause it to appear as all the different creations we see in our world. There has been a great deal of research in recent years as to whether the universe we live in is actually a holographic experience, and it seems that this is very close to the truth. (Holy Moly! Talk about deception!)
And so, it seems life is more of an energy flow than a collection of solid things. What that means for us is that if we stay conscious of the energy we contain, based on the emotions we feel, we can make deliberate choices that alter our frequency and create the realities we desire. If we’re feeling down about something, we can choose to reframe the situation and raise our own spirits. With a renewed perspective and a higher, more positive energetic vibration, we stand a much better chance of bringing good into our lives, rather than bitterly repeating old mistakes.
Now, think about this folks. If there is nothing that is solid and we are just energy… why did GOD himself FORM MAN OUT OF THE DUST OF THE EARTH? Why does the Word of GOD say that if we do not praise GOD, the ROCKS WILL CRY OUT? God formed the FIRMAMENT to hold back the Waters above. He told the waters where there boundaries were set so that the DRY LAND could appear. If we are just energy, how do we bleed? How do they remove parts of our bodies? How can you touch and feel things? Come on… how stupid has humanity become that they so easily swallow the lies of the enemy???
Words are extremely powerful tools that we can use to uplift our personal energy and improve our lives, though we’re often not conscious of the words we speak, read, and expose ourselves to. Yes, even the words of others can easily affect our personal vibration. Spend a few minutes with a chronic complainer who uses all sorts of negative terms, and you’ll feel your personal energy bottom out. Words have great power, so choose them (and your friends) wisely!
YES, WORDS ARE VERY POWERFUL. GOD wants to KNOW, “WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?” Will you align yourself with the lies of the Devil? Or will you align yourself with the ONLY TRUTH, which is the WORD of GOD?
Isaiah 53 Very important chapter, tells us about the coming savior.
53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
“Whose report will we believe? We shall believe the report of the Lord!” A phrase from a song written by Ron Kenoly from the 90’s, reminds me in that moment of decision, we have a place to stand and choices to be made. It’s not the circumstance that destroys us, it is the processing of our thoughts, either succumbing to fear and dis-believing God’s word or to a place of trust and rest that sets our future. SOURCE
Words & Water
Japanese scientist, Masaru Emoto performed some of the most fascinating experiments on the effect that words have on energy in the 1990’s. When frozen, water that’s free from all impurities will form beautiful ice crystals that look exactly like snowflakes under a microscope. Water that’s polluted, or has additives like fluoride, will freeze without forming crystals. In his experiments, Emoto poured pure water into vials labeled with negative phrases like “I hate you” or “fear.” After 24 hours, the water was frozen, and no longer crystallized under the microscope: It yielded gray, misshapen clumps instead of beautiful lace-like crystals. In contrast, Emoto placed labels that said things like “I Love You,” or “Peace” on vials of polluted water, and after 24 hours, they produced gleaming, perfectly hexagonal crystals. Emoto’s experiments proved that energy generated by positive or negative words can actually change the physical structure of an object. The results of his experiments were detailed in a series of books beginning with The Hidden Messages in Water, where you can see the astounding before and after photos of these incredible water crystals.
The Power of Gratitude
In another experiment, Emoto tested the power of spoken words. He placed two cups of cooked white rice in two separate mason jars and fixed the lids in place, labeling one jar “Thank You” and the other, “You Fool.” The jars were left in an elementary school classroom, and the students were instructed to speak the words on the labels to the corresponding jars twice a day. After 30 days, the rice in the jar that was constantly insulted had shriveled into a black, gelatinous mass. The rice in the jar that was thanked was as white and fluffy as the day it was made. This dramatic example of the power of words is also detailed in Emoto’s books.
Throw-away Words
How many times a day do we throw our words away? We say things like, “I hate my hair,” “I’m so stupid,” “I’m such a klutz.” We never think that these words bring negative energy into our vibration and affect us on a physical level, but they do. Emoto’s experiments were conducted with water. Why? Because sound vibration travels through water four times faster than it does through open air. Consider the fact that your body is over 70% water and you’ll understand how quickly the vibration from negative words resonates in your cells. Ancient scriptures tell us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. As it turns out, that’s not a metaphor.
Say That Again
Some of us are in the habit of using the same negative words over and over again out of habit. The problem is that the more we hear, read, or speak a word or phrase, the more power it has over us. This is because the brain uses repetition to learn, searching for patterns and consistency as a way to make sense of the world around us. Only after being burned a few times can we understand that fire is always hot. You may not remember the exact end date of the Civil War, but odds are you still know what 8 x 9 is because you had to repeat your multiplication tables over and over again, drilling it into your consciousness. I’m sure you’ve experienced having a song stuck in your head all day long, and try as you might, you just can’t get the melody out of your head. Repetition is the most powerful tool to imprint something into our minds and keep it there.
This is of particular concern when we consider a phenomenon called the Illusion of Truth Effect. It basically proves that any statement we read, see, or speak regularly is seen as more valid than one we’re exposed to only occasionally. Amazingly, it makes no difference whether the information is true or false. The only thing that matters is how often we’re exposed to it. Research from the University of California at Santa Barbara clearly shows that a weak message repeated twice becomes more valid than a strong message heard only once. Even one repetition has the power to change our minds. The same goes for pictures, which are just thoughts and ideas concentrated into an image. Repetition increases our mental validation of anything we’re exposed to, which is why it works so well in political propaganda.
If we’re not fully conscious of what we’re exposing ourselves to, consistency will trump truth every time. Now consider how many times you’ve falsely called yourself stupid, untalented, ugly, or anything else, and you begin to understand how your internal propaganda shapes a false self-image.
AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS THE WAY THE DEVIL HAS BROUGHT THE WORLD TO CONDITION IN WHICH WE FIND IT TODAY. DECEPTION SO GREAT ONLY REQUIRES TIME AND REPITITION!! DECEPTION IS THE ONLY THING THAT THE DEVIL HAS TO CONTROL US.
1. Making Words Work.
To consciously harness the power of words for your benefit, start with the ones you’re using.
2. No Name-Calling or Self-Criticism.
Everyone is doing the best they can at any moment in time with the consciousness they have to work with, including you. Be kind and offer yourself the same empathy and compassion you’d extend to anyone else.
3. Stop All Self-Deprecation.
Never make your body, or something you’ve accomplished, or anything else in your life the butt of a joke. Words have power, and quantum energy doesn’t have a sense of humor.
4. Resist Gossiping and Speaking Ill of Others.
It’s impossible for your words to resonate in anyone else’s body but your own.
5. Go on a Negativity Diet.
Instead of saying that a meal was terrible say, “I’ve had better.” You’ve basically said what you wanted to say without putting negative energy through your body—you even used a positive word to do it!
6. Boost the Positive Energy of Words.
Instead of saying something like you had a good time at a concert, ramp up the positive energy by saying great, terrific, or fantastic, instead. These feel much better and generate a bigger energetic response in the body.
7. If you have some negative nancys in your circle of friends,
limit the time you spend with them or find better friends. Negative energy has a way of dragging everything surrounding it in, like a big black hole. Avoid it when you can.
8. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting words.
Put affirmations on sticky notes around your home and office that say wonderful things about you, your family, or your goals. Wear clothes that have positive messages or phrases on them. Imagine the kind of positive energy you’ll be generating for yourself when you’re wearing positivity all day long. As you keep doing these things, you use the power of repetition in a highly effective way for your benefit. You have the power to change your world, and using words consciously is one of the quickest ways to shift the energy you bring into your life.

What You Say Will Be Used Against You…
Matthew 12:34-37
“You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”
I am sure we have all heard of the Miranda Warning, well have you? The Miranda Warning is considered a “right to silence.” The “right to silence” covers “…the right of the accused or the defendant to refuse to comment or provide an answer when questioned, either prior to or during legal proceedings in a court of law. This can be the right to avoid self-incrimination or the right to remain silent when questioned.”
In my heart came these words, we are so quick to say the enemy plays with our mind, or that the enemy has us, etc however, we need to be careful not to give power to the enemy, because he does not deserve that power from your mouth that God has given us. Let us go back to the beginning when God on the last day of creation said, “Let us make man in our own image,” (Genesis 1:26). Therefore, we have the attributes of God; in the beginning God spoke and said , “Let there be…” and there was. Genesis 1:2-3 “The earth was without form, and void;…then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” You see we are told that the power of Life and Death is in our tongue and if we are created in the image of God, and we have the same attributes and when He spoke that which was nothing came into existence, this is all the more reason we ought to be careful of the words we speak. What we speak we will be.
Growing up I’ve often heard be careful what you say because what you say you speak into existence and that is just as we saw from scripture that to be true. You will have what you say. So what words are you giving power? Because it’s not about what another says but what you say. As I explained in another post https://armed4war.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/who-has-power-in-your-life/ what you say ultimately gives power for God to move in your life or the devil to go before the Lord and ask to use those words against you. So, whatever you say can and will be used against you in the court of the Heavens. Matthew 12:36 tells us like this, “Men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken,” and “careless” refers to the Greek phrase rema argos is considered empty, careless or unprofitable words. So, many of us have said many idle word, Lord forgive us.
Think about it in the court of law, the words that a defendant says can ultimately determine whether the suspect lives or dies, but just as powerful as some words can be to destroy, or dismay there just as powerful to speak of joy and hope. Words are the creative force what is all around us.
Let me back up a verse or two Matthew 12:34 “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of,” so we first have to ask the Lord to deal with our hearts. Thus, what we say reveals what is in our hearts. The Lord truly has been dealing with me on this particular issue, because sometimes I can become so frustrated, so annoyed, so angry, discouraged, uncompassionate, etc. and tend to go off emotion instead of dealing with my heart first and praying “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!” (Psalm 141:3) . And so eventually, what we hold in our hearts will come out in our words. Again, many times throughout Genesis, states “And God SAID let there be…and it was.” We must remember we have an adversary who is the accuser of the children of God, who goes back and forth persecuting us before the Lord, and he is seeking out whom he may devour. So, I ask you what is your heart full of? What has your heart soaked up? For if you fill your heart with grace and by soaking up the Bible your tongue will be a gracious tongue, or faithful heart will produce a truthful tongue, a critical heart produces critical tongue, I am sure you catch my drift.
The devil is like a roaring lion going to and fro seeking whom he may devour, he is the prosecuting attorney. I found this interesting that the word devil which actually comes from “diaballo” means to accuse, and therefore, when we give the enemy a foothold with the words we are so quick to use we often give him an edge for his case against us. I remind you, “anything you say can and will be used against you…” Revelations 12:11 says “And they overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” you see it is the words we profess that we either overcome or lose to our adversary. This verse tells us that the way the oppressed overcame sickness, overcame oppression was by allowing God’s word to be true and every man’s word a lie (Romans 3:3-4). Spurgeon states it like this:
“It is a strange, strong expression; but it is none too strong. If God says one thing, and every man in the world says another, God is true, and all men are false. God speaks the truth, and cannot lie. God cannot change; his word, like himself, is immutable. We are to believe God’s truth if nobody else believes it. The general consensus of opinion is nothing to a Christian. He believes God’s word, and he thinks more of that than of the universal opinion of men.”
May we grasp ahold to this true and recognize the words we speak bring forth life or death for in the end we are told to ever be quick to listen and slow to speak, and that our words ought to be for edification and building of others (that includes ourselves), and that if nothing else may our words and our conversations be always full of graces and seasoned with salt (ref: Col 4:6, James 1:19, Ephesians 4:29). Beloved, be careful the words you speak to yourself even about yourself, to your spouse and about your spouse, to your children and about your children, even the brethren amongst the church for the word says” For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matt 12:37) For James says it best “we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be” (James 3:9-10).
Lord, now I pray that you would set guard over our lips and bridle our tongue, and may the words we say be for building and edification to others and ourselves, and may our words be of few full of grace and seasoned with salt that we would bring honor and not dishonor to your name. Lord may we recognize the power in our words and the power you’ve given us to walk in Victory. Father, I pray that you would forgive us where we have fallen short, where we are quick to speak and ignorant not to listen, and because of your generosity, because of your mercy and grace I pray you would give us the wisdom we need for each situation when it pertains to our words, that we would bring your name glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
John 8:43-45
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. |

8 WAYS SATAN USES TO KEEP US OUT OF THE BIBLE
There is no doubt that Satan knows the power of God’s word to change us. He works tirelessly to take away the seeds of Scripture planted in us (see Mark 4:14-15). He knows that the Bible, in the hands of the Holy Spirit, is lethal against his tactics. Consider this excerpt from C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters in which a chief demon seeks to mentor a trainee demon in how to hurt the faith of believers:
“Don’t let him open the Enemy’s book. Have him think he’s not feeling spiritual enough. Suggest that it’s too complicated. Tell him he’s too tired. Be vigilant — five minutes of prayerful reading can set him back months (Rom 10:17).”
Satan knows that the Bible is integral to our mission here on this earth (John 17:14-19). He knows that the Bible sanctifies us and makes us holy (specifically focus on John 17:17). He knows that faith comes from hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). He knows that when we see Jesus by faith that we will transform more into His image by the Spirit’s power (2 Corinthians 3:18).
So, what does he want to do? He wants to do all that it takes to keep us out of the Bible. How does he do that? There are certainly many things he does but here are eight ways which we commonly see today:
-
Distracts you with your phone, social media, video games, Netflix, YouTube
Name whatever it is that distracts you most—that is what Satan is using. Here’s the thing, many of the objects that he uses are good in themselves. He loves to use good things to distract us from ultimate things.
Practical Tip: Turn your phone over during your devotions. If someone REALLY needs you then they will get you. -
Busyness with friends, school, work, sports, clubs, parenting, schedules, etc.
How often do we find ourselves saying, “Well, I didn’t have time to get in the Word today.” Satan loves this tactic. Our day is a busy day. We are constantly on the go and we hardly like to stop. How often our Enemy likes to use our busyness and our productivity to actually keep us away from the Word that transforms us into the image of Christ.
Practical Tip: Schedule your devotions and guard that time with your life. Seek to have a consistent time and place in order to build a better habit. -
Boredom by saying, “I already know this.”
How many of us get to our devotions and immediately look at the text (say John 3:16 for example) and respond with, “I already got this one.” How little do we simmer over the text and bring out the rich flavors that are in the Word! Can we really look at God’s love and say, “Yea, I know that already”? Satan will use our familiarity and cause us to think that that Bible is somehow boring. We pay attention to that which captivates us most and if there is the seed within that gives fruit to the thought that the Bible is boring then Satan has won a battle in our hearts.
Practical Tip: 1) Change up your Bible reading plan (if you’re doing bigger portions, change to smaller portions or vice versa). 2) Pick up other books that show you how amazing the Bible is (try Kevin DeYoung’s Taking God At His Word or D.A. Carson’s The God Who Is There) -
Lesser works with devotional books (although good but not enough)
Let me set this straight: Devotional books are good and very helpful when they are from authors that bring out the rich treasures of the Bible. Let me repeat: Solid, biblical devotional books are good. But, they are not Scripture. Nothing replaces meditating over the Bible itself. No one can outdo the Holy Spirit in His work. I don’t care who the author is, no one can do what the Holy Spirit does as He takes the Word into our hearts and sheds abroad the love of God. There are many times that Satan uses good and great devotional books to keep us away from meditating on the Bible. There are too many people who read more of their devotional books than they read the Bible. Satan loves to keep us in the devotional books and away from the Bible because he knows that the Bible will make us radically God-centered and Christ-like. Satan loves shallow Christians because shallow Christians are no threat to his kingdom. In order to keep making Christians shallow, he keeps us in anything other than the Bible.
Practical Tip: Only use devotional books to help stir up your heart to get you into the Bible more. Do not settle for a devotional book that gives you one short verse to read but forces you to focus more of your attention on what they have to say. Pick up a devotional book that helps you understand the Bible better. We perish for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). -
Unbelief in the Bible’s relevance, power, sufficiency, and necessity
When we think that the Bible is relevant for today, powerful to change us, sufficient for our problems, or necessary for our daily living then Satan has won another battle. He loves to have us think that we can go today without reading our Bible. He works one day at a time to keep you each day away from the Scripture. He wants you to think that the Bible won’t address what you need to hear. He tries to convince you that you aren’t really changing whenever you meditate on God’s Word. He wants to persuade you that you’re fine on your own.
Practical Tip: 1) Don’t measure your growth in short intervals. Rather, spend time in the Bible each day, studying to know what it is really saying, and after 6 months, 1 year, 5 years reflect on your life. 2) Read biographies of Christians who have been changed by God (Augustine’s Confessions, Jonathan Edwards, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Martin Luther, Susannah Spurgeon, Amy Carmichael) 3) Read good books on biblical counseling that address this issue (such as: The Dynamic Heart: Connecting Christ to Human Experience by Jeremy Pierre, You Can Change by Tim Chester, or Cross Talk: Where Life and Scripture Meet by Michael Emlet) -
Mislead you into thinking other things work better
We often run to other “fixes” to take our minds off of our problems. Some run to exercising (literally, they run their problems away) and some to venting to others (they want to talk their problems away). There are even Christian counselors who try to tell us that we need something “more” than the Bible. There is certainly a big trend in the evangelical world that sees therapy as the answer to inner change. Satan loves to get us to think that anything or anyone is better than the Bible. He wants us to think that if we merely take our minds off of the problem things go away. He often fools us into thinking that counseling (as great and necessary [yes, necessary at times] that biblical counseling is!) is a replacement to ourselves getting in the Bible. He wants to help us feel like we don’t need to the Bible and therefore keeps us from it.
Practical Tip: Pray that God would show you the amazing power that is in the Bible. Pray that the Holy Spirit would take that Word into your heart to show you the wondrous things that are in His words. Listen to the testimonies of others who have been transformed by the gospel. Test God and His Word for yourself and see if He won’t change you. -
Grant self-confidence by thinking you’re fine without it for a day
This is somewhat of a repeat from earlier but a necessary repeat. Satan loves to get us to think that we’re really OK without the Bible today. He wants us to think that there really isn’t too much going on in our lives for us to have to get in the Bible today. Satan wants us to see the Bible merely as medicine. We only need it if we’re sick. Self-confidence is a killer to our devotional lives.
Practical Tip: Study the doctrine of total depravity. I mean, really study it. Just spend time and write down 30 reflections on John 15:5 and Ephesians 2:1-2. -
Keep you only reading it and never meditating on it and memorizing it
”Knowledge of the Word of God will not profit you, unless you frequently listen to it and meditate upon it.” Sound controversial? Well, it’s from the Puritan pastor Walter Marshall in his book The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification which is considered a classic on the subject. Satan loves to keep you merely reading the Bible. Besides, unbelievers read the Bible too. Once again, let me set the record straight once more: The Holy Spirit does use our Bible reading to convert us and sanctify us. But, we shouldn’t be satisfied with only a short and shallow reading of the Bible. What unbelievers don’t do is meditate on it in the power of the Spirit. Christians apply the Bible to their lives and Satan hates it when you do this. He hates it when you apply the gospel of free grace to your sinful life. If you defeat all his other ways, he wants you merely to read the Bible and get on with your day. He doesn’t want you to wrestle with it, apply it, meditate on it, study it, or teach it.
Practical Tip: Let your Bible reading goal be for thoughtful and slow reading. Ask good questions of the Bible when you read it. Try to summarize what the main point of your reading is and then think about how that main point applies to your life today.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Yes, the devil wants to kill our bodies and take our minds, hearts and emotions, but the REAL TARGET is our ETERNAL SPIRIT! He wants to rob each and every one of us of our place in the forever family of GOD.

Satan is now out of the shadows and into full view. Watching the news you would have to have your head buried in the sand not to see it. Lies have become so prolific it seems like truth doesn’t matter anymore. But of course, we know truth does matter. There is a judgment day that…“…will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts;” 1Cor 4:5Of course, God straight-forwardly warned us about this spiritual battle:“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Eph. 6:12We have to be realistic. We’re not up against flesh and blood. It’s not politicians, (the ruling elite, the insane “Scientists, the crazed Feminists, the terrorists, the false teachers, not the armies at our door or their brethren within our borders) i it’s not people about which we should be concerned. Rather, it’s the evil spirit behind the people.Satan loathes Christians, America and truth. And this lying demon is pulling out all the stops to get at what he hates the most—you and me.
Our Biblical Armor
The Bible also gives us the solution to dealing with this spiritual battle. In Paul’s letter to the church at Corinth, he made this extraordinary assessment about how to win when dealing with spiritual warfare directed against the knowledge of God:“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God,” 2Cor. 10:3-5We are in a spiritual battle, not a flesh battle. The closer we come to the Lord’s return, the more Satan will be in the open coming after CHRISTIANS, after truth. Don’t think it’s anything else. Ephesians 6 point blank tells us what we should be doing.“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil… so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.” Eph. 6:11,13
- The Bible, God’s Word, is our armor. The more we know His Word, the less Satan can dupe us and the more God can use us. And of course, prayer is our ultimate weapon that moves mountains.
“And He said to them, ‘This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.’” Mk 9:2spacer
