REDO OLYMPICS BEYOND 2021

WOW… I didn’t realize that this never got posted.  That happens to me a lot.  I will be working on multiple posts at one time, all really important…and then something major will happen an I have to change my focus…  These days there is ALWAYS something major happening.  SO, often I never get back to what I was doing.

I am not going to review this, I am just going to post what is here.  The moment has passed, yet much of this is still relevant.

Tokyo Olympics closing ceremony marks end of strangest games on record

Tokyo — It began with a virus and a yearlong pause. It ended with a typhoon blowing through and, still, a virus. In between: just about everything.

The Tokyo Olympics, christened with “2020” but held in mid-2021 after being interrupted for a year by the coronavirus, glided to their conclusion in a COVID-emptied stadium Sunday night as an often surreal mixed bag for Japan and for the world.

A rollicking closing ceremony with the theme “Worlds We Share” — an optimistic but ironic notion at this human moment — featured everything from stunt bikes to intricate light shows as it tried to convey a “celebratory and liberating atmosphere” for athletes after a tense two weeks. It was set to pivot to a live feed from Paris, host of the 2024 Summer Games. And with that, the strangest Olympic Games on record began closing their books for good.

Held in the middle of a resurging pandemic, rejected by many Japanese and plagued by months of administrative problems, these Games presented logistical and medical obstacles like no other, offered up serious conversations about mental health — and, when it came to sport, delivered both triumphs and a few surprising shortfalls.

From the outset, expectations were middling at best, apocalyptic at worst. Even Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, said he’d worried that these could “become the Olympic Games without a soul.” But, he said Friday, “what we have seen here is totally different.”

“You could experience and feel and see and hear how much they enjoyed to be together here again,” Bach said.

At these Games, even the word “together” was fraught. Spectators were kept at bay. A patchwork of rules kept athletes masked and apart for much of medal ceremonies, yet saw them swapping bodily fluids in some venues. That was less about being remiss than about being real: Risks that could be mitigated were, but at the same time events had to go on.

Athletes’ perseverance became a central story. Mental health claimed bandwidth as never before, and athletes revealed their stories and struggles in vulnerable, sometimes excruciating fashion.

Japan’s fourth Olympics, held 57 years after the 1964 Games reintroduced the country to the world after its World War II defeat, represented a planet trying to come together at a historical moment when disease and circumstance and politics had splintered it apart.

The closing ceremony Sunday reflected that — and, at times, nudged the proceedings toward a sci-fi flavor. As athletes stood in the arena for the final pomp, digital scoreboards at either end of the stadium featured what organizers called a “fan video matrix,” a Zoom call-like screen of videos uploaded by spectators showing themselves cheering at home.

Even the parade of athletes carrying national flags — thousands of Olympians, masked and unmasked, clustering together before fanning out into the world again — was affected. Volunteers carried some flags into the stadium, presumably because of rules requiring athletes to leave the country shortly after their events concluded.

In front of such formidable backdrops, athletic excellence burst through, from the Games’ first gold medal (China’s Yang Qian in the 10-meter air rifle on July 24) to their last (Serbia defeating Greece in men’s water polo on Sunday afternoon).

Among the highlights: Allyson Felix taking a U.S.-record 11th medal in track, then stepping away from the Olympic stage. American quintuple gold medalist Caeleb Dressel’s astounding performance in the pool. The emergence of surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing as popular, and viable, Olympic sports. Host country Japan’s medal haul — 58, its most ever.

Any Olympics is a microcosm of the world it reflects. These Games’ runup, and the two weeks of the Games themselves, featured tens of thousands of spit-in-a-vial COVID tests for athletes, staff, journalists and visitors. That produced barely more than 400 positives, a far cry from the rest of non-Olympic bubble Japan, where surges in positive cases provoked the government to declare increasingly widespread states of emergency.

And, of course, there was that other microcosm of human life that the Games revealed — the reckoning with mental and emotional health, and the pressure put on Earth’s top-tier athletes to compete hard and succeed at almost any cost. The interruption of that pressurized narrative, led by the struggles of gymnast Simone Biles and tennis player Naomi Osaka in particular, permeated these Games and ignited the spark of an athlete-driven conversation about stress, tolerance and inclusivity that everyone expects to continue.

While Tokyo is handing off the Summer Games baton to Paris for 2024, the delay has effectively crammed two Olympics together. The next Winter Games convenes in just six months in another major Asian metropolis — Beijing, Japan’s rival in East Asia and home to a much more authoritarian government that is expected to administer its Games in a more draconian and restrictive way, virus or no virus.

In Paris on Sunday, people gathered in a fan zone near the Eiffel Tower, waving small French flags. The scene was a contrast to Tokyo, where fans have occasionally been able to sneak peeks at events, but for the most part haven’t been able to attend or gather in big crowds to cheer athletes.

In recent weeks, lots of people — officials, athletes, journalists — have been chewing over how these Tokyo Games will be remembered. That’s up to history, of course, but there are hints.

The runup was messy and disputed. The days of competition were fraught but, in general, without incident other than sporting milestones. Even a moderate earthquake rumbled through and was quickly forgotten. The expenses — upwards of $15 billion — were colossal and will echo in Tokyo long after athletes are gone.

What are the Olympic Games supposed to be? A politics-free sporting event, as the IOC insists? A bonanza for sponsors and broadcasters? One small step toward world peace? Despite all the yarn-spinning, their identity remains up in the air and that fundamental question remains.

But as the cauldron is snuffed out Sunday night after the Pandemic Olympics conclude, it’s easy to argue that Tokyo can take its place as a Games that didn’t fail — as one that overcame a lot to even happen at all. And as vaccines roll out, variants emerge and lockdowns re-emerge, another city and government — Beijing, the Chinese capital — must grapple with the very same question.

In the meantime, the program for Tokyo’s closing ceremony, outlining its “Worlds We Share” theme, captured the effect of the pandemic and the virtual worlds and separation anxiety to which it has given birth.

“We are in a new normal, and this edition of the Games were a different affair,” it said. “Even if we cannot be together, we can share the same moment. And that is something that we will never forget.”

We’re still in the final days of the Tokyo Summer Olympics — but thanks to the one-year delay of these Games, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are now less than six months away.

“All venues and facilities for Beijing 2022 are close to complete,” organizers said in a recent update.

Those structures range from luge tracks and skating rinks to snowboard courses. The 12 ice and snow venues are scattered between Beijing and neighboring Hebei province, which includes a large mountain resort.

Test events were held at those venues this year to fine-tune them for competition, organizers said. While many facilities are brand-new, some may look familiar: The famous “Water Cube” that hosted Olympic swimming in 2008, for instance, is now the “Ice Cube,” to host curling.

The coronavirus will once again affect the Olympics

With the COVID-19 pandemic showing few signs of abating, Beijing Olympics officials are working to “make improvements based on epidemic prevention and control policies,” said Liu Yumin, head of venue planning and construction for the organizing committee.

Chinese officials are attending the Tokyo Olympics in part to monitor the effectiveness of coronavirus safety measures, according to the committee.

The status of the Tokyo Olympics was once in doubt, and the one-year delay due to COVID-19 wreaked havoc on athletes’ training and qualifying tournaments. In contrast, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach has urged Beijing officials to plan for the Winter Olympics to start on time.

“Keep going strong with regard to the preparations,” Bach told organizers at an IOC meeting last month.

Beijing organizers recently promised to mount “a splendid Beijing 2022 opening ceremony in a simple and safe manner, with COVID-19 countermeasures in mind.”

Along with coronavirus worries, people have called for a boycott of the Beijing Olympics because of China’s human rights record. The U.S. has said China is carrying out genocide against the Uyghur Muslim minority, and reports have described a state-run program of mass imprisonment, torture and persecution in Xinjiang province.

The Winter Games are set to open on Feb. 4

The Beijing Olympics are the third consecutive Games to be held in Asia, meaning avid watchers in the U.S. will once again deal with a large time difference. Beijing is 12 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time, while Japan and South Korea are 13 hours ahead.

The Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony is slated for Feb. 4 in Beijing’s revamped National Stadium, widely known as the Bird’s Nest. The facility was a landmark of the 2008 Summer Olympics, but officials later struggled to find ways to use the huge stadium.

In addition to competition sites, Beijing officials said they’ve also finished more than 30 large-scale infrastructure projects to help host the Olympics, from a high-speed railway to new highways and an advanced power grid.

The massive construction projects also include a new Olympic Village, and housing for thousands of media and staff who will visit China fo

The dramatic and unprecedented Tokyo Olympics ended this past weekend. And in less than six months, another round of Olympic Games will begin in Beijing, China — the 2022 Winter Games, per CNN.

  • The Beijing Winter Olympics will run from Feb. 4 to Feb. 20, per The Washington Post.
  • Beijing is poised to become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics, reported CNN.
  • The city previously hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics, per The Wall Street Journal.

After the controversy of the Tokyo Olympics and the unprecedented COVID-19 restrictions, many questions surround the upcoming Beijing Olympics, reported The New York Times. Here’s an early look at the 2022 Winter Games.

Will the Beijing Olympic Games happen?

At this point, neither the International Olympic Committee nor Beijing officials have indicated that they plan to delay or postpone the Winter Games. Rather, the success of the Tokyo Olympics has encouraged organizers, reported CNN.

  • With planning and safety restrictions, holding an international sports event is “completely feasible,” said Jin Dongyan, a virologist at the University of Hong Kong, per CNN.
  • With less than six months till the opening ceremony, this will be the shortest turnaround ever between Games, reported The Washington Post.

Beijing plans to reuse multiple stadiums from the 2008 Summer Games and has already completed construction on new major stadiums needed for the Winter Games, reported The Washington Post.

  • For the first time ever, the Olympics will overlap with the NFL Super Bowl which is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 13, per The Washington Post. NBC plans to pause Olympics programming during this time.

Rather, discussions about the Beijing Games have revolved less around questions of “if” the Games will happen and more around questions of “how” the Games will happen, per The New York Times.

What will the COVID-19 restrictions be like?

The full details about COVID-19 safety measures at the Beijing Olympics are still developing. Based on the initial announcement, Beijing is likely to use a similar “bubble” strategy to keep Olympic participants separated from the public and curb COVID-19 spread, per The New York Times. However, Beijing’s Olympic “bubble” seems much stricter.

  • “Most (officials) appeared to believe that the unprecedented restrictions they had seen in Tokyo would be almost nothing by comparison,” reported The New York Times.
  • China has implemented and followed a strict zero-tolerance policy for responding to COVID-19 — a policy that may extend to the Games, per The New York Times.

Officials have not announced spectator allowances or restrictions, quarantine requirements or possible vaccination requirements, per The New York Times. They have announced plans to keep athletes, referees, journalists and spectators separate.

  • Even Chinese staff working the Games will be required to live in the Olympic bubble. Comparatively, Japanese staff at the Tokyo Games could return home, reported The New York Times.
  • After the Beijing Games, these staff will “reenter” Chinese society only after a “lengthy quarantine,” per The New York Times.

Unlike the domestic disputes of the Tokyo Games, the controversy of the Beijing Olympics stems from international disputes, per The Wall Street Journal.

  • Since winning the bid to host the Olympics back in 2015, “Beijing’s victory was controversial because of China’s climate and because of the country’s human rights record,” reported The Washington Post.
  • “The U.S. government has accused China of genocide for its treatment of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang and for cracking down on democracy advocates in Hong Kong,” per The Washington Post.
  • Some have even called for a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Games for these reasons, reported CNN.

Why the world must boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022

The 2022 Winter Olympic games are currently slated to be held in Beijing, China, next February. But the voices demanding that they be moved to a more freedom-friendly venue are growing louder.

Last September, a coalition of 160 human rights groups called for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to “reverse its mistake in awarding Beijing the honor of hosting the Winter Olympics.”

The Trump administration also pushed for the IOC to move the games, according to former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Pompeo now wants the United States to boycott the upcoming games entirely.

Two weeks ago the Canadian Parliament joined the chorus, urging the IOC to strip Beijing of the right to host the 2022 Games unless it ends its genocide against the Uighurs.

The ongoing Uighur genocide — carried out by mass incarceration, forced abortion, and modern-day slavery — tops the list of what Pompeo calls the Chinese Communist Party’s “nasty activity.” But it certainly does not exhaust it.

Holding the Olympics in Beijing is an insult to every Tibetan nationalist, every Chinese political dissident, every Catholic, Christian, or Buddhist who languishes in China’s prisons because of their personal convictions.

Human rights conditions in China today are in many respects worse than when I came face-to-face with China’s brutal one-child policy in the early 1980s.

They are worse than they were in 2008, when the Summer Olympics were held in Beijing.

To spruce up China's image before the 2008 Olympics, authorities drove out illegal immigrants — and even painted the dead grass green.

And they are likely to get even worse in the months to come as the Winter Olympics grows ever nearer.

For me, one of the most disturbing aspects of the 2008 Games was the construction of new stadiums. You see, stadiums in China are used not just for athletic competitions, but for public executions.

Like the Colosseum of Ancient Rome, these stadiums double as killing fields, where thousands of people have been executed without due process. China continues to execute more people each year than the rest of the world combined.

The day of an execution, the stadium stands are filled with people. They are there by official order, in order to witness what happens to those who break the Party’s law.

The prisoner — sometimes there are several — is marched in and forced to kneel in the middle of the field. After his crimes are read, he is killed by a single shot to the back of the head.

The West may view the upcoming Winter Olympics as a celebration of the human spirit, but the Chinese Communist Party views it as a massive propaganda exercise.

The Party’s chief aim will be to spruce up the country’s image abroad — badly tarnished by the coronavirus pandemic — and to generate nationalistic zeal at home.

We know the playbook that the Party will follow. We’ve seen it before.

In the run-up to the 2008 Olympics, Beijing received a face lift, buildings were refurbished, and illegal urban residents were driven out of the city and their hovels demolished.

The authorities even painted the dead grass green.

At the same time that they were sweeping the streets, they swept up dissidents of all kinds, banishing them to labor camps and prisons.

This time around the controls will be even tighter. The international media will arrive in Beijing to find the city sterilized of all possible protest.

More surveillance cameras will be installed, more facial recognition technology utilized, and more AI deployed. The population in and around the games will be monitored in real time, and any dissent or unrest snuffed out before it occurs.

All this is to say that the games will not bring change to China, but instead generate a new wave of persecution.

Once the Winter Olympics of 2022 are over and the athletes and the international press leave, the playing fields will once again become killing fields as well.

China's oppressive treatment of the Uigur population will only get worse in the run-up to the 2022 Olympics.
China’s oppressive treatment of the Uighur population will only get worse in the run-up to the 2022 Olympics.

At their highest level, the Olympics celebrate the human spirit. It is not just about ice hockey or the toboggan run, the giant slalom or ice skating, but the efforts of individual men and women to be the best that they can be in every field of human endeavor.

This is why the games should always be held in countries where human rights are respected. This is why Beijing, where that overarching spirit is violated every day, is such a bad choice for the Winter Olympics of 2022.

The Chinese Communist Party should not be allowed to hide its atrocities behind the drama of athletic competition.

Because if medals were given to nations for committing human rights abuses, China would win the gold every time.

International Olympic CommitteeIOC MAKES HISTORIC DECISION BY SIMULTANEOUSLY AWARDING OLYMPIC GAMES 2024 TO PARIS AND 2028 TO LOS ANGELES

THE SESSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE (IOC) MEETING IN LIMA, PERU, TODAY ELECTED PARIS AS HOST CITY OF THE GAMES OF THE XXXIII OLYMPIAD 2024 AND LOS ANGELES AS THE HOST CITY OF THE GAMES OF THE XXXIV OLYMPIAD 2028.

“Congratulations to Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028! This historic double allocation is a ‘win-win-win’ situation for the city of Paris, the city of Los Angeles and the IOC,” said the IOC President, Thomas Bach.

“It is hard to imagine something better. Ensuring the stability of the Olympic Games for the athletes of the world for the next 11 years is something extraordinary,” Bach commented.

AWARDING THE OLYMPIC GAMES 2024 AND 2028 IS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

SPEAKING AT A PRESS CONFERENCE, IOC PRESIDENT THOMAS BACH HIGHLIGHTED THAT HAVING THE TWO GREAT CANDIDATE CITIES OF LOS ANGELES AND PARIS IS A “GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY” FOR THE OLYMPIC MOVEMENT. HE GAVE FURTHER DETAILS ON THE PRINCIPLE DECISION OF THE IOC EXECUTIVE BOARD TO PUT FORWARD A PROPOSAL TO THE IOC SESSION TO AWARD THE OLYMPIC GAMES 2024 AND 2028 AT THE SAME TIME. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD HAS TODAY CALLED FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY IOC SESSION TO TAKE PLACE ON 11 AND 12 JULY IN LAUSANNE TO DISCUSS THIS PROPOSAL.

At the press conference, President Bach said: “The situation of these candidature for 2024, having two such great cities and such great countries, having two candidatures which are really enthusiastic and really promoting the Olympic Games and Olympic Spirit in a great way – this represents a golden opportunity for the Olympic Games and the IOC.”

‘A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY’

On 13 September at the IOC Session in Lima, it was confirmed that Paris and Los Angeles will host the Olympic Games 2024 and 2028 respectively, following the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) historic decision to award both Games simultaneously. Here, we trace the exceptional circumstances that led to the decision.

On 11 July 2017, the IOC Session unanimously agreed in principle to award both the Olympic Games 2024 and 2028
(17 – Seventeen stands for the very foundation of the theory of balance and should be regarded as the law of equilibrium in all things. The number seventeen has long been associated with resurrection as well.)
simultaneously in Lima, paving the way for a “win-win-win” situation for the Olympic Movement, Los Angeles (City of Angels)  and Paris (City of Light).

This historic decision initiated a period of constructive discussion between the IOC and the two Candidate Cities, resulting in Los Angeles declaring its candidature for the Olympic Games 2028 followed by a Tripartite Agreement and the release of the Host City Contract 2028 on 31 (The number of El, God = Al. 1 + 30) .July.

The agreement was ratified by the full IOC membership at the IOC Session in Lima on 13 September, confirming that Paris will host the Olympic Games 2024, and that Los Angeles will host the Olympic Games 2028. This was the culmination of a two-year Candidature Process that was shaped by the IOC’s Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms.

It was the very fact that the two candidatures embraced so fully the principles laid out in Olympic Agenda 2020 that created what IOC President Thomas Bach termed a “golden opportunity” for the Olympic Movement.

“Both cities have really embraced Olympic Agenda 2020 in different ways, but particularly in the way they are planning to use a record number of existing and temporary facilities,” said President Bach at a press conference on 9 June 2017, after the IOC Executive Board had put forward the proposal to award both Games at the same time.

“This is something we have not seen in this dimension before, and will lead to significant cost reductions in the organisation of the Olympic Games and will make the Games more sustainable and more feasible.”

On 11 July at the Candidate City Briefing 2024, when the two delegations – led by Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron – presented their respective Games concepts, it was this mutually strong focus on sustainability and legacy that made losing one of them unthinkable for the Olympic Movement.

A Host City Contract 2028 was drawn up specifying that the IOC contribution towards the successful organisation of the Olympic Games 2028 would be USD 1.8 billion. In addition, the IOC will advance funds in view of the longer planning period, in order to increase participation in and access to youth sports programmes in Los Angeles in the years leading up to the Games.

The result is the safeguarding of the future of the Games through the allocation of hosting rights to two historic Olympic cities, giving athletes, National Olympic Committees, International Federations and the entire Olympic Movement an exciting framework within which to map out the next 11 years, and providing legacies that will benefit the local populations long into the future.

In fact, collaboration between the two cities has already begun through the drawing up of a framework for cooperation between Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028, outlining opportunities that the two cities and the IOC are planning to explore to create mutual benefits, efficiency, transparency and reduction in costs and complexity.

THE CANDIDATURE PROCESS

Prior to the tripartite agreement, the Candidature Process 2024 including evaluation of the Paris and LA projects took place. This process allowed for a significant shift in philosophy, aimed to increase openness, simplicity and transparency, and created the opportunity for an ongoing dialogue between the IOC and the Candidate Cities. Changes included cost savings for the Candidate Cities, open discussions with the Candidate Cites and an Evaluation Commission report which focused on the opportunities and challenges presented by each Candidate City. In line with the IOC’s commitment to good governance and transparency, all documentation relating to the 2024 Candidature Process can be found here. The 2024 process was the first time all documentation, including the Host City Contract, was made available at the outset of the process.

Detailed information in regard to this Candidature Process 2024 may be found here.

The Eiffel Tower stands on an oxbow beside the River Seine in Paris, France. The reason for its placement was due to it being the centerpiece of the 1889 World’s Fair, which took place in the same region.

The placement of the tower and the World’s Fair was not an accident. It is placed at a spot in Paris that is generally considered a cultural divide. Following the Seine upstream will take a visitor to the port and the slightly more bohemian and blue-collar part of the city. Titled “Je Rêve des Jeux” — “I Dream of the Games”— the video features a group of athletes identifying themselves and their sport. The common theme in their words is the unifying power of sport, specifically in a diverse population. The logo, which incorporates a spectrum of colors (or one might say a “Rainbow”) into what is perhaps the most recognizable symbol of France, underscores that theme: We are all different, but, in the end, we are all French. If the Olympic Games are always a testament to athletic prowess and international comity, in Paris, in 2024, this campaign suggests, there would also be an element of national unity.

That message carries particular weight after 2015, one of the most traumatic years for France in recent memory. The year began with the January attack on the Paris offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo that killed 12 and ended with the Nov. 13 attacks by Islamist militants at the Batalcan theater, the Stade de France, and a series of restaurants and bars in Paris, which killed 130and injured many more

The use of sport as an international unifier also reflects today’s interconnected world. The digital revolution has networked people in new ways, producing global citizens whose identities are often more complex than one-dimensional nationalism. This includes athletes who play or train abroad, part of the changing dynamics of sports labor and migration. Greater cross-cultural collaboration in sports is a natural outgrowth of this change.

At the same time, being a good global team player through sports promises benefits for a country outside the arena. It can build a powerful, positive brand, which increases the country’s global influence, cultural power and reputation.

These are all aspects of soft power, and sporting prowess is just one of the many metrics that feed into the annual Soft Power 30 rankings, a global report on how effective countries are at realizing foreign policy objectives through the persuasiveness and attraction of their national values, political system and cultural attributes. In the most recent Soft Power 30 report, France jumped to No. 1 in part because of its vast web of alliances and collaborations, partly on the strength of its sports relationships. France maintains an extensive series of influential rapports around the world, from leadership in international sports federations and participation in events such as the Francophone Games and Mediterranean Games, to the French Football Federation’s work with Major League Soccer to train youth academy coaches. Helming coalitions and international partnerships within the sports world has aided France, among other countries, in constructing new geopolitical leadership roles.

Given this history, it should come as no surprise that France innovated with the Olympics. Paris uniquely baked the notion of a global Games into its 2024 candidacy. Earlier this year, the 2024 committee unveiled its official slogan, “Made for Sharing.” The English-language mantra was a significant nod to the vision of a shared Games, given France’s heavy investment in promoting the French language and culture abroad as part of its public diplomacy policy.

Nor were the innovations limited to France. Multilateral institutions such as the European Parliament supported a French bid that pledged to share the Games with Europe and the world. International companies also backed Paris 2024 as a Games for all, including Discovery Communications and Eurosport.

France also sought radically local partners across the globe. Mayors from more than 50 major cities, from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to Sydney to Montreal supported Paris 2024 and its plan to be the greenest Games to date. Increasingly, on environmental and urban issues, large cities, more than their national governments, partner together to drive policy. By spotlighting these collective goals — and courting local leaders — the Paris 2024 committee provided a different model for Olympic bidding, one that could replace the national pride that usually animates the contest over who hosts the Games.

Even the recruitment of athletes to support the Paris bid reflected the power of sports to unify. Star French athletes such as NBA player Tony Parker and tennis pro Jo-Wilfried Tsonga unsurprisingly lent their support to a bid co-chaired by Olympic canoeist Tony Estanguet. But so too did a range of international athletes, including Spanish tennis champion Rafael Nadal, Jamaican Olympian Elaine Thompson and New Zealand rugby star Dan Carter, who also supported the “Made for Sharing” mantra of a Games for all.

Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin founded the modern Olympics to promote friendship and peace, a lofty goal. His home town hosted the Games twice, in 1900 and 1924, but in the decades that followed, the Olympics were marked by nationalistic fights on the field and tit-for-tat boycotts during the Cold War. By welcoming the world in 2024under the “Made for Sharing” mantra, Paris may be returning to Coubertin’s original objective of sports as a unifier of nations.

Robert Nakata, is the design director for 72andSunny, an L.A.-based advertising firm in charge of bid branding materials, about every choice the designers made to create the most meaningful emblem.

The official slogan, “Follow the Sun,” (in other words Worship the Sun God – Ba’al) there’s the all-important emblem. It portrays a flying angel, colored with a radial gradient of yellows, oranges, and purples (one might say a “Rainbow”)—similar to those that fill L.A.’s skies during sunrise or sunset.

The Angel

The emblem can be interpreted as a melding of the “City of Angels” moniker and the official “Follow the Sun” slogan. City officials wanted to underscore L.A.’s ability to host people from all over the world—it already hosts significant diaspora and immigrant communities from Mexico, China, Russia, and Iran, among many others. “Ultimately, one of the five values of L.A.’s Olympic Games bid—unity—determined the final selection” of the angel as key element, says Nakata. He points to the city’s founders, who were of Native American, Mexican, African, and European descent, and who nicknamed it the “City of Angels.” The series of white lines radiating from the angel’s chest are intended to invoke the rays of sunlight that grace L.A. 284 days of the year.

The angel herself is shown with arms reaching overhead and face turned upward (as one does in worship), like a gymnast performing an uneven bar routine, about to stick a perfect landing. “There was intention to design the figure to be athletic and dynamic, youthful and female,” he says. “We felt this was more in keeping with the progressive vision Los Angeles was forming for their Olympic bid.”

One of the key differences between Los Angeles’ emblem design and those of other bid cities is its literal approach. Paris and Rome have submitted highly abstract representations of their city’s most notable landmarks—the Paris logo consists of the number 24 in a shape resembling the Eiffel Tower, and Rome’s features the Colosseum.

Not only is Los Angeles’ emblem a proportionally accurate depiction of a human figure, it’s clearly female. This is unusual because figurative emblems are often deliberately designed without a clear sex.

Choosing female over male was a decision from the perception, and reality, that sports communication is already dominated by male athletic imagery,” Nakata says. “The Olympics are an event that celebrates male and female athletic achievement in equal measure. Why not represent athletic achievement through female form?”

Los Angeles, the city of the FALLEN ANGELS, this emblem is clearly about SUN Worship/Baal Worship.  The deliberate decision to make the emblem Female rather than neutral states clearly that it is another attack on the Headship of the Father, and raising up the Goddess. It is another attack on the family unit created and ordained by GOD.  The unity it represents is the one being orchestrated by the Fallen Angels, it is a false unity, just like the one at the TOWER OF BABEL.  It is unity without the Creator, in defiance of the Creator God!

The number 11 is thought of as a “master” number in numerology because it is a double digit of the same number. When this occurs – the vibrational frequency of the prime number doubles in power. Meaning, the attributes of the Number One are doubled … The 11 carries a vibrational frequency of balance. It represents male and female equality. It contains both sun energy and moon energy simultaneously yet holding them both in perspective separate-ness. Perfect balance.  Source

12 -Important in the “magic” of this divine number is that at 12 “symbolic of the creation of the universe” as it represents the division or fractionating of unity into twelve individual distinct sound vibrations or tones. The key into understanding why this number is divine is that it is “symbolic of the creation of the universe” as in the Twelve Apostles via Jesus Christ of the Apocalypse which in this 6th age,  signify the “end or a whole.” As is well said by S. Augustine (de Doctrina Christiana), “The number Twelve multiplied into Twelve makes One Hundred and FortyFour, the number in the Apocalypse, which designates the traiversal Society of the Saints:” and so Aug. f here, “centum quadraginta quatuor Millia omnis omninb Ecclfsia eit.”  Source

The 121st Golden Dragon Parade
Saturday, February 1st, 2020

In celebrating over one hundred years of tradition, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles presents the 121st Annual Golden Dragon Parade. With over thousands and thousands of individuals lining the parade route and thousands viewing the telecast each year, this colorful celebration along North Broadway in Chinatown has become the premiere cultural event in the Southern California Asian-American Community.

Since the mid-1980’s, the Golden Dragon Parade has expanded to include almost two dozen floats, multiple marching bands, government officials, various dignitaries, entertainers, local business leaders and cultural groups. The parade theme emphasizes ethnic diversity, Chinese culture and exposure to Chinese-American businesses. The parade continues to be a rich and diverse experience for Angelenos of all ages and ethnicities.

The parade includes a Chinese Lion and a Chinese Dragon.  The current main  Dragon was imported from China for $1500  and takes 25 Chinese dancers to carry it.  There are multiple other dragons imported from Hong Kong.

Don’t miss the Symbolism of 24 and of 28

Symbolism of the number 24

  • Represent the wheel of the rebirths(or resurrection) according to R. Allendy. It is the cyclic mechanism of the nature, 4, linked to the cosmic differentiation, 20, in the harmonious balance of the creation – 2 + 4 = 6.
  • Represent the combination of the aware individuality and mistress of all his energies with the Cosmos developing its complete harmony, according to Warrain.
  • Symbol of the double harmony of the sky and the earth.   (harmony of man’s domain and the fallen angels domain; also signifying unity – the main theme of the Olympics.  The false unity forced by man.)
  • Saint Jerome sees in this number the multiplication of the four elements – the earth, the water, the air and the fire – by the six days of the creation.
  • 24 is an evil number, referring to Cain, Qin, but not of his numeration, which is 100 + 10 + 50 =160, or else 100 + 10 + 700 = 810.
  • 24. There are 24 birds unclean as food
  • 24 ribs both in man and woman.

Symbolism of the number 28

  • The number 28 combines cyclic times: 4 and the evolutionary times: 7. “It is the spiral of the evolution unfolding among the perpetual cycles of nature; it is the being progressed in the permanent oscillations of the Cosmos”.
  • Second perfect number because this number is equal to the sum of its aliquot parts.
  • Gematria 28 = Eternal Life 888 = First Resurrection of Saints *

IOC AND UN COLLABORATION: TAPPING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF SPORT

The United Nations (UN) has long recognised the contribution of sport for development and peaceand collaboration between the IOC and the UN has played a central role in spreading the acceptance of sport as a means to promote internationally agreed development goals. In 2015, in a historic moment for sport and the Olympic Movement, sport was officially recognised as an “important enabler” of sustainable development and included in the UN’s Agenda 2030.

In line with Olympic Agenda 2020, the IOC’s strategic roadmap for the future of the Olympic Movement unanimously adopted in December 2014, the IOC believes in the potential of sport to help achieve eleven of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) established by this UN Agenda 2030: Ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages (SDG 3); Ensure inclusive and quality education for all (SDG 4); Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls (SDG 5); Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all (SDG 8); Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (SDG 11); Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12); Take urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts (SDG 13); Conserve and sustainably use marine resources and protect and promote the use of terrestrial ecosystems (SDG 14 & 15); and Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development (SDG 16).

Read here how sport contributes to these 11 SDGs.

In recent years, a few historical milestones significantly reinforced the partnership between the IOC and the UN, which dates back to 1922, when the IOC and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) established an institutional cooperation.

  • In 2009, the UN General Assembly granted the IOC Permanent Observer status. This decision enables the IOC to be directly involved in the UN Agenda and to attend UN General Assembly meetings where it can take the floor, thus providing the possibility to promote sport at a new level.
  • In April 2014, the UN and the IOC signed an agreement aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two organisations at the highest level. The agreement underlined that the IOC and the UN “share the same values of contributing to a better and peaceful world through sport.” Learn more about the IOC and UN agreement here.
  • It was then also announced that IOC Honorary President Jacques Rogge had been appointed as the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Youth Refugees and Sport.
  • In November 2014, the UN formerly recognised the autonomy of the IOC and sport. The UN Resolution acknowledges “sport as a means to promote education, health, development and peace”, and highlights the important role of the IOC and the Olympic Movement in achieving these goalsLearn more about this historic milestone here.
  • In December 2016, sport was once again lauded by the UN for its power to spur social changeLearn more about this UN recognition here.

USING SPORT TO BUILD A BETTER WORLD

In 1993, the UN General Assembly approved a Resolution that further solidified IOC-UN cooperation with the decision to revive the Olympic Truce, by adopting a Resolution entitled “Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal,” which calls upon Member States, before every edition of the Games, to observe the Olympic Truce and to cooperate with the IOC and the International Paralympic Committee in their efforts to use sport as a tool to promote peace, dialogue and reconciliation in areas of conflict during and beyond the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Fight Against The Los Angeles Olympics Isn’t Over Yet

On a sweltering July morning in Los Angeles, the LA 2028 flags flew as “Mayor” Eric Garcetti stood on the steps of City Hall and cancelled The LA 2028 Olympic games. The games that he had insisted on were being called off, citing the absurd costs, impossibility of staging outdoor events due to climate change, and Garcetti’s own colossal failures on everything from housing, homelessness, transit, education, immigration, labor, and generally making LA a habitable space for anyone but rich old money slumlords and YouTube millionaires.

After the Olympics were cancelled, a flag unfurled to reveal that this was a stunt by NOlympics LA, the counter-Olympics coalition that I am an original member of. NOlympics LA staged the Olympics cancellation at the same time members of the group were in Tokyo, meeting with activists from equivalent anti-Olympics movements from Japan, Paris, Korea, Jakarta, London, and Rio. “Garcetti” was actually NOlympics activist Steve Ducey in a suit, skillfully mocking the real Mayor’s way of saying seemingly well-intentioned things that are actually meaningless, and then immediately contradicted through his actions.

The real Garcetti played this game a week later, when he staged a photo op with a homeless woman named Kryshelle in the valley. He shook his head and told KPCC, “One of the things that’s kind of magical as Mayor is that sometimes I can make the difference of whether somebody will say, ‘Today is the day I’ll actually come off the streets.” Immediately afterwards, Kryshelle’s possessions were trashed and her encampment swept, a direct result of a call made by someone with the mayor’s team. Unfortunately, these are the soulless goons currently running Los Angeles as an aristocracy for profit, and who better to team up with than the International Olympic Committee?

The rising anti-Olympics sentiment that’s made such domestic and international organizing possible is a direct result of each Olympic cycle bringing increased clarity to what the Olympics are and always have been: A scheme routinely carried out by a consortium of grotesquely wealthy oligarchs and war criminals (like Henry Kissinger), who use sports as a pretext to extract capital from poor communities around the world. They promise cities greatness and abundance, only to abscond, leaving behind a wake of irreversible damage to lower income populations. The damage wrought by the scheme during some cycles is easier to spot than it is during others—Rio and Sochi come to mind as obvious shit shows—but even cities like London and Atlanta suffered intense spurts of Olympics-driven gentrification. Every Olympics leaves behind a legacy of destruction that takes decades to fully manifest itself.

And yet, rich idiots still bid on the Olympics. LA made a bid for the last 11 Summer Olympics, only winning after literally every other city in the world decided that they were no longer stupid enough to buy what the IOC was sellingAside from the IOC, the only people who benefit from the Olympics are rich guys who live in the pockets of big developers, private security firms, and media companies. LA found its version of this particular kind of rich guy in LA 2028 bid co-chairs Mayor Garcetti and Casey Wasserman. Garcetti’s been selling out the city for profit for the better part of the last decade, and Wasserman—the obscenely rich brand mogul, super agent, and grandson of famous Hollywood power player Lew Wassermanrecently made his Twitter account private after New York Magazine reminded everyone that he once flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane.

As far as public perceptions go, now is a very bad time to have people know that you’ve ever been within 20 feet of Jeffrey Epstein, but why would the IOC care about that? After all, the Olympics are notorious for enabling abuse of underage athletes by adults. Larry Nassar, the monster who molested countless Olympic gymnasts, was enabled by the IOC and now-disgraced former USOC chief Scott Blackmun, who is of course an LA 2028 booster. Even after they were informed of the abuse, it festered for another year, because why stop the profit machine? Profiting off young athletes who are supposed to inspire the world while simultaneously exploiting and allowing for the abuse those athletes is at this point standard Olympic protocol.

Abuse scandals have rocked U.S. Olympic sports networks across gymnastics, swimmingequestrianboxing, and ice skating. Examine the culture of the Olympics from any angle and you will see something as toxic as the pyramids of irradiated topsoil that have been stacked up in Fukushima, where the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are planning to hold swimming events.

It has always been this way. The 1932 LA Olympics took place during a historic homelessness crisis, when “Hoovervilles” lined the streets of the burgeoning metropolis. We call the sprawling encampments “Garcettivilles” now, but they are much the same. Promises of making the city denser with more public transportation, which it desperately needs, were leveraged into a way to push out lower income residents by raising rents everywhere the metro builds to. Cornerstone ethnic enclaves like Chinatown, Koreatown, Boyle Heights, and South LA are being gentrified by rich white people who feel like they deserve to own property even during this historic housing crisis. Groups like Chinatown Citizens For Equitable Development and Koreatown For All have formed to fight developers who are literally pushing out the populations for which these neighborhoods are named. LA is being whitewashed by developers, and LA 2028 is a scam to help speed up the rate of that whitewashing.

Elder and low-income people of color are the most affected by these violent displacements, and there is nowhere else for them to go. CCED LA is suing the city over the new development, “Chinatown Crossing,” which includes none of the mandated low income housing units (and what the city defines as low income is insanely high). Even though 2028 is a long way off, the Olympics are already displacing people of color near the LA Coliseum to make hotels in order to satisfy a manufactured hotel shortage” crisis for Olympics tourists.

These problems all existed before LA won the bid for the 2028 Olympics, but the arrival of the games will be like a match to gasoline. It’s very fucking hot in LA right now and we have at least 60,000 people living on the street in a city where 600,000 people spend 90 percent of their income on housing. I have never known a time in LA when there wasn’t a homelessness crisis. I was born in the early ‘80s into an LA that had a huge homelessness population, terrible environmental issues, and was stratified between classes.

That was the LA in which the 1984 Olympic games took place. During the run-up to those games, the city was beset by Operation Hammer, which saw a militarized police force orchestrating sweeps throughout the city in order to sanitize the streets for the sake of the coming TV cameras. Unhoused people and anyone “suspected” of being in a gang were thrown in jail so the Olympics could show off LA as a shiny and clean metropolis. It’s no stretch to say that the 1992 LA Uprising and early ‘90s Rampart police corruption scandal were vastly accelerated by the police clampdown that began in the ‘80s.

We’ve already seen what the Olympics can do to LA, and to other cities throughout the world, which is why it was so infuriating when Garcetti and city council pushed LA 2028 through with no public referendum, public input, or independent media polling, knowing full well that most of them will not be holding local public office by the time the negative consequences from the games will be felt.

The original mission of NOlympics LA was to keep the Olympics out of LA, but our fight isn’t over just because Garcetti and Wasserman got the city council to do their bidding. What remains now is ensuring that the things the Olympics are doing and will still do to this city, to people like Kryshelle, don’t go unnoticed. If Garcetti wants his legacy to be bringing the Olympics back to LA, we’ll make sure he gets his wish.

In the above article you saw that the Olympics are just a tool for the Globalist agenda, not only to preach there message but to physically enforce their 2030 population control and restructuring of our land, our homes and our cities.

54:46

The book of Revelation prophesies a period of unprecedented violence, suffering and genocide, when peace will be taken from the earth, after which a kingdom shall arise that will devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.  This rebellious world will not repent of its sexual perversion despite the warnings and judgments of God,

Mankind is presently rushing headlong into this Tribulation period but large swaths of the Church seem not to notice. The Reformed think the theocracy they are building is the Kingdom of God. Instead of stanching the floodtide of sin in the culture, the apostate Church has joined the culture and is leading the human race to Judgment.

Luke 21:35 warns “For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” The day of the Lord will take the world and the apostate Church by surprise.

Interview With Sanhedrin Spokesman: Conference for Organization of 70 Nations Intended to Replace United Nations

This was the part of the Bible that I struggled with for years.  Talking about the Endtimes, it kept saying they will drag you into the synagogues…  Is he talking only to Jews?  I wondered. At the time I was struggling with these texts, there was no Sanhedrin and had not been for a couple thousand years.  So why are we reading about them in the Endtime prophecies?

Well, now we know.   There is a NEW SANHEDRIN, they have been working in the background developing support for the Noahide Laws, shich they manufactured.  They are soon going to be holding World Court in Jerusalem, where they will persecute all who are not JEWS or who will not follow their Laws.  Not the Laws of the Torah, but the what they interpret as the Gentile watered down version of the Commandments.  VERY SCARY STUFF!

But, no need to fear, because this is happening according to God’s plan.  He warned us about it in His Word.  He told us that He was telling us ahead of time so that when these things happen, we will KNOW that HE IS GOD!!

Matthew 24:9 Cross References

Matthew 24:9

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.

John 16:2

They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

John 15:19-20

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

Revelation 2:10

Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Luke 21:16-17

You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.

Luke 21:12

But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.

Mark 13:9-13

“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them. And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But God’s wrath has come upon them at last!

Matthew 10:15-22

Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. But beware of men; for they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues. On My account, you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say. For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone on account of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

Revelation 6:9-11

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Matthew 23:34

Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town,

PAULTHEPOKE

Prophecy Watch & Bible Study

It is mind-boggling to think that our generation alone is uniquely standing on the precipice of time and where no generation has ever stood.  We are living in the days spoken of by the ancient prophets.

These prophets spoke of the Israelites being gathered back into their own land, in passages such as Ezekiel 37:21:

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

This began in 1948.  The “dry bones” of Ezekiel 37 have come alive.

As also prophesied, we are seeing the world turn against Israel.

On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations” (Zechariah 12:3).

The catalyst for this is oil, or petro-dollars, causing the world to sell out tiny, democratic Israel to despotic Muslim nations for purposes of greed.

These signs are historically unprecedented.  Only this generation has seen them.  But there are many other biblical signs, such as: increased violence worldwide (as in the days of Noah), increased apostasy, increased cults and false religions and false prophets, increased natural disasters such as frequency of earthquakes, and more.

For these and many other reasons, is it any wonder that millions believe the return of Christ is so near?  Polls show that even non-believers think the world is at such a point.  This is the most exciting time in all history to be alive!

But When is He Coming?

Just the question — when? –– causes some Christians to cringe, protest, or even scoff! They quickly point out that Jesus said,

But of that day and hour knoweth no man (Matthew 24:36 KJV).

Some believers criticize other believers who are seeking God’s clues, either from the Scriptures or by personal revelation.  It is interesting that it was apparently by personal revelation, not Scripture, that many people knew the exact day of Elijah’s rapture (2 Kings 2)!  Are there types in the Old Testament?  Do God’s principles repeat themselves?

Some claim we should focus only on the Great Commission and evangelism and not be concerned when the Lord will return.  However, the Bible repeatedly tells us to “watch” for the signs, so not doing so would be disobedient.  Also, those who are watching and expecting Jesus’ soon return are probably the most zealous group of witnesses for the gospel among all Christians.

The doubters may mention Paul’s words that the day of the Lord will come like “a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:2). But many believers have so misunderstood these verses that they are oblivious to the times, not watching for the Lord as He commanded, and are often absorbed by the cares of this world and their own agendas.

As to Matthew 24:36, some scholars point out that Jesus’ words here are in the present tense, addressed to His hearers at the time, and not to those alive at the end of the age when Daniel’s vision would be unsealed (Daniel 12:9). This would be similar to Matthew 16:20:

Then he warned His disciples not to tell anyone that He was the Christ.

As evidence, many other Scriptures reveal to us that God will reveal at least the approximate time. (Even if the “day and hour” restriction is literally valid today, it may be because the Earth is in 24 time zones and always in two different days.)

Jesus also said, “but my Father only” knows, which pins the statement to His hearers at the time, when Jesus was still on the earth, because surely there are now no secrets in the Trinity between the Father and the glorified Son, who are truly One.

Also, in context, He seems to be speaking of heaven and earth passing away (v. 35), not other end-time events. In addition, Jesus said,

If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee (Revelation 3:3).

He is obviously saying that to the one who watches, He will not come as a thief and that person will know the hour! (Hour — Greek hora — Strong’s 5610; various meanings, including, “any definite time, point of time, moment.”

God’s Promises of Revelation

It is clear that Jesus will not come as a “thief in the night” for watchful believers, because in the very same passage, verse 4, Paul tells us,

But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

If we are trusting in Christ and looking for His coming, Paul said that even the very day does not have to surprise us!

Also, Jesus exhorted, “If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief” (Revelation 3:3, KJV), obviously saying He will come as a thief only to those not watching! It is obvious that for those watching, He will NOT come as a thief.

Jesus rebuked those who did not understand the signs of the times in His day:

O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, but can ye not discern the signs of the times (Matthew 16:3).

Of the end of the age, Jesus said,

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28).

He said we would know when it is near!

God said, “Surely the sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing it to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7, NIV). God said “nothing,” and He did not exclude Christ’s return. I take Him at His word.

God not only knows the end from the beginning, He tells us that He makes it known!

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. (Isaiah 46:10).

He has already made it known! I personally believe it has been hidden in His Word all along, to be unlocked in His timing.  There is nothing wrong with seeking!  No doubt, it pleases God.

God said,

I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee (Isaiah 48:5, KJV).

Jesus said the Holy Spirit “will teach you all things” (John 14:26). He said “all things.” Did Jesus make a mistake, forgetting to exclude when He will return? I don’t think so.

Friends confide in one another. Abraham was called God’s “friend” (Isaiah 41:8James 2:23).

And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do (Genesis 18:17).

Now, because of Jesus’ atonement, we are called friends of God:

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends (Jesus, John 15:15).

The Bible also says that Jesus was crucified so that the blessing of Abraham, part of which was friendship with God, would come upon the Gentiles — us (Galatians 3:14).

Ecclesiastes 1:9 says:

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun (NIV).

Many Bible students believe that ancient events and dating in the Bible are shadows and clues that foretell the coming of the Lord, even the timing.  An example is the six days of creation, seen as 6,000 years of man’s dominion over the earth, before the return of the Lord and the seventh, or Sabbath Millennium of peace, with Christ ruling in Jerusalem.  According to scholars, we are now at the end of 6,000 years since Adam.

There are other such passages. God clearly promised that we would know at least approximately when Christ will return, and even “the day” will not surprise us, as the Holy Spirit reveals through Paul!

In addition, there is ample precedent for God revealing specific times in advance.

  • He gave Noah advance notice of when the flood would be (Genesis 6,7).
  • He told Abraham how long the Israelites would be in Egypt (Genesis 15:13).
  • As mentioned, He revealed to many the very day of Elijah’s rapture (2 Kings 2).
  • He told Jeremiah how long the Babylonian exile would be (Jeremiah 29:10).
  • He told Daniel exactly when Messiah would come the first time (Daniel 9:25-26).

Some, including the brilliant Sir Isaac Newton, believe this same passage holds the key to the timing of His return.

There is evidence that the Bible reveals the exact number of years of “the times of the Gentiles” and the exact span of time to Israel’s rebirth in 1948 and the recapture of Jerusalem in 1967.

Obviously, leaving us clueless now would violate God’s own established pattern as revealed in His Word!

Also obviously, we are not left clueless.  There are many signs.  Let us remain watchful and ready, and be found doing the Master’s work.

So, now we see that it may not be the Catholics who slaughtered so many believers when Roman “Converted” the World to the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, and it may not be the Muslims who love to chop off people’s heads if they refuse to follow their version of GOD, who will in the end be killing Christians and everyone else who don’t bow to their will.  It is beginning to look like it will be the Rabbinical Jews using the Sanhedrin to enforce their beliefs.  These are the same people who Crucified Christ!

It all makes sense when you look at the end time prophecies that say “they will put you out of the synagogues”; they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons; they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors; they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues; some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.”  There you have four separate scriptures that state very clearly that the they referenced must be Jews because no one else refers to their place of worship and judgement as Synagogues.

When God’s Word repeats something more than once, you can believe that you need to take notice.  I believe God wanted us to be clear that it does not say synagogue by accident.   It was not a clerical mistake or an interpretation error.  Synagogue clearly indicates JEWS.

As I wrote those words, it suddenly dawned on me why God said “the whole world will  gather against Israel”.  I wondered how that could be…that ALL nations would turn against Israel.  Well, I think we have the answer to that now, too!

All nations go against Israel at the Battle of Armageddon.

      1. God will judge all nations because all nations have gone against Israel.
      2. Joel 3:2 – “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”
      3. Amos 9:9 – “For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.”
      4. Zechariah 14:2 – “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.”
      5. Matthew 24:9 – “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.”

All nations will go against Israel at the Battle of Gog and Magog.

      1. Rev. 20:8 – “And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”
      2. Ezekiel 38 and 39 speaks of God drawing God and Magog to battle against Israel.

The bible also says that the tribulation will last a total of 7 years from the time that the “Covenant” is made that gives this AntiChrist Government power to rule.  If the Tribulation period does indeed last 7 years as most profess.  Than if it begins sometime in the next 16 months…than 2028 it is!!!

The plan of GOD is 7,000 years for the Earth.  That is the reason for the commemoration of the SABBATH.  God commanded us to keep the Sabbath day as a way of bringing to our memory his plan.  He likes to cause us to act out his plans and his commandments so that we can understand them.  Visualizaitons of what is expected.   If you are not already keeping the TRUE SABBATH, I hope you will start.  GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY.  EARTH WILL REST ON THE SEVENTH DAY.  For a day is as a thousand years to the Lord.
