Today, I’m going to tell you about the Kerkopes, sometimes spelled Cercopes, not to be confused with King Cecrops of Athens. They were dwarf-like men, sons of Oceanus and Theia, daughter of Memnon of Ethiopia. It seems that there were usually two of them named Passalos and Akmon; but other sources give them different names, and sometimes increase their number. They had a career of mischief and petty thievery in Lydia, (Lydia, Lycanthropy) but their mother warned them to beware of the Black-Bottomed One. When they encountered Herakles, who was staying in Lydia and performing tasks for Queen Omphale, they stole his bow while he was asleep. A variation had them turn into blue-bottle flies and pestering the hero. He managed to catch the two and hang them upside down from a pole.
When they saw Herakles’ butt, which was darkly sunburned due to his running around wearing nothing but a lion skin, they realized he was the Black-Bottomed One and started laughing. Herakles was amused by them, and let them go, at least in the most common version of the myth. They apparently didn’t give up their pranks, however, and eventually angered Zeus himself, who turned them into monkeys.
Or else they were already monkeys, or very monkey-like people (the word “Kerkopes” actually means “tail-men”), and the god-king turned them to stone and wood. They show up in Rick Riordan’s The House of Hades, where they steal the Archimedes sphere from Leo Valdez, proving that they still hadn’t learned their lesson.

From War Dogs to Remote Controlled Monkeys: Animals in the Military
Dogs have a long history serving alongside humans in military campaigns. The earliest recorded use of war dogs is from around 600 BC, and dogs have acted as scouts, sentries, and fighters in conflicts around the globe. Some dogs, such as Sergeant Stubby in World War I and Chips in World War II, have even been decorated for bravery and exemplary service.
One reason why dogs have been so successful in the military is likely the species’ long relationship with humans. Dogs are intelligent and can be trained to perform a wide array of tasks, as seen in the film below.
Not all military uses of animals have been so successful. Twentieth-century warfare contains many grand ideas that were never implemented, even after significant financial investment. One example is the bat bomb under development during World War II. The Marine Corps spent over $2 million on Project X-Ray, which involved a plan to drop thousands of hibernating bats carrying incendiary devices over Japanese towns and cities. When the bats awoke, they would spread out to roost in flammable local structures, at which time the bombs were set to ignite. The project was cancelled before deployment (possibly because focus had shifted to the atomic bomb), but not before some accidentally-released bats set fire to a hangar at the Carlsbad Army Auxiliary Air Base in New Mexico.
A second project that never made it out of development during World War II was Project Pigeon. Overseen by behaviorist B.F. Skinner, the goal of this project was to create a pigeon-guided missile. Three pigeons trained to recognize a target would be enclosed within the nose cone of a missile and would peck at the image of the target as displayed on a small movable screen. This action would cause the missile to correct course toward the target. Though this particular project was cancelled, carrier pigeons played a large part in both World Wars, transporting messages over the battlefield. They may also have been used to some extent for aerial photography and reconnaissance purposes.
Another fascinating military animal project is described in a United States Air Force film that was declassified in 2012. Identified as Paisley Print Task I, the 1972 film depicts a project to train rhesus monkeys to follow remote direction to penetrate enemy territory for reconnaissance and sabotage purposes. The project was carried out by the Environmental Medicine and Human Engineering divisions of the 6570th Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
The film describes the training given to the monkey, and then demonstrates an electrode vest that is remotely controlled by an operator to correct the monkey if it strays off of the desired course. According to the film’s narrator, successful implementation of the Paisley Print project would allow the Air Force to send monkeys equipped with cameras, or carrying explosives or supplies, into enemy territory that humans could not safely enter in order to carry out offensive countermeasures. Though the monkey successfully performs on the largely obstacle-free course at Wright-Patterson, it is unlikely that a remote-controlled vest would override the monkey’s instincts in a true combat situation.
There is very little documentation available about Paisley Print, and it is likely that the project never progressed beyond the development stage. You can watch the film report Paisley Print Task I below.

The Secret History of Fort Detrick, the CIA’s Base for Mind Control Experiments
Today, it’s a cutting-edge lab. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was the center of the U.S. government’s darkest experiments.
In 1954, a prison doctor in Kentucky isolated seven black inmates and fed them “double, triple and quadruple” doses of LSD for 77 days straight. No one knows what became of the victims. They may have died without knowing they were part of the CIA’s highly secretive program to develop ways to control minds—a program based out of a little-known Army base with a dark past, Fort Detrick.
Suburban sprawl has engulfed Fort Detrick, an Army base 50 miles from Washington in the Maryland town of Frederick. Seventy-six years ago, however, when the Army selected Detrick as the place to develop its super-secret plans to wage germ warfare, the area around the base looked much different. In fact, it was chosen for its isolation. That’s because Detrick, still thriving today as the Army’s principal base for biological research and now encompassing nearly 600 buildings on 13,000 acres, was for years the nerve center of the CIA’s hidden chemical and mind control empire.
Detrick is today one of the world’s cutting-edge laboratories for research into toxins and antitoxins, the place where defenses are developed against every plague, from crop fungus to Ebola. Its leading role in the field is widely recognized. For decades, though, much of what went on at the base was a closely held secret. Directors of the CIA mind control program MK-ULTRA, which used Detrick as a key base, destroyed most of their records in 1973. Some of its secrets have been revealed in declassified documents, through interviews and as a result of congressional investigations. Together, those sources reveal Detrick’s central role in MK-ULTRA and in the manufacture of poisons intended to kill foreign leaders.
In 1942, alarmed by reports that Japanese forces were waging germ warfare in China, the Army decided to launch a secret program to develop biological weapons. It hired a University of Wisconsin biochemist, Ira Baldwin, to run the program and asked him to find a site for a new bio-research complex. Baldwin chose a mostly abandoned National Guard base below Catoctin Mountain called Detrick Field. On March 9, 1943, the Army announced that it had renamed the field Camp Detrick, designated it as headquarters of the Army Biological Warfare Laboratories and purchased several adjacent farms to provide extra room and privacy.
After World War II, Detrick faded in importance. The reason was simple: The United States had nuclear weapons, so developing biological ones no longer seemed urgent. As the Cold War began, however, two seemingly unrelated developments on opposite sides of the world stunned the newly created Central Intelligence Agency and gave Detrick a new mission.
The first was the show trial of the Roman Catholic Primate of Hungary Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty for treason in 1949. At the trial, the cardinal appeared disoriented, spoke in a monotone and confessed to crimes he had evidently not committed. Then, after the Korean War ended, it was revealed many American prisoners had signed statements criticizing the United States and, in some cases, confessing to war crimes. The CIA came up with the same explanation for both: brainwashing. Communists, the CIA concluded, must have developed a drug or technique that enabled them to control human minds. No evidence of this ever emerged, but the CIA fell hard for the fantasy.
In the spring of 1949 the Army created a small, super-secret team of chemists at Camp Detrick called the Special Operations Division. Its assignment was to find military uses for toxic bacteria. The coercive use of toxins was a new field, and chemists at the Special Operations Division had to decide how to begin their research.
At the same time, CIA had just established its own corps of chemical magicians. CIA officers in Europe and Asia were regularly capturing suspected enemy agents and wanted to develop new ways to draw prisoners in interrogation away from their identities, induce them to reveal secrets and perhaps even program them to commit acts against their will. Allen Dulles, who ran the CIA’s covert-operations directorate and would soon be promoted to direct the agency, considered his mind control project—first named Bluebird, then Artichoke, then MK-ULTRA—to be of supreme importance, the difference between the survival and extinction of the United States.
In 1951, Dulles hired a chemist to design and oversee a systematic search for the key to mind control. The man he chose, Sidney Gottlieb, was not part of the silver-spoon aristocracy from which most officers of the early CIA were recruited, but a 33-year-old Jew from an immigrant family who limped and stuttered. He also meditated, lived in a remote cabin without running water and rose before dawn to milk his goats.
Gottlieb wanted to use Detrick’s assets to propel his mind control project to new heights. He asked Dulles to negotiate an accord that would formalize the connection between the military and the CIA in this pursuit. Under the arrangement’s provisions, according to a later report, “CIA acquired the knowledge, skill, and facilities of the Army to develop biological weapons suited for CIA use.”
Taking advantage of this arrangement, Gottlieb created a hidden CIA enclave inside Camp Detrick. His handful of CIA chemists worked so closely with their comrades in the Special Operations Division that they became a single unit.
Some scientists outside the tight-knit group suspected what was happening. “Do you know what a ‘self-contained, off-the-shelf operation’ means?” one of them asked years later. “The CIA was running one in my lab. They were testing psychochemicals and running experiments in my labs and weren’t telling me.”
Gottlieb searched relentlessly for a way to blast away human minds so new ones could be implanted in their place. He tested an astonishing variety of drug combinations, often in conjunction with other torments like electroshock or sensory deprivation. In the United States, his victims were unwitting subjects at jails and hospitals, including a federal prison in Atlanta and an addiction research center in Lexington, Kentucky.
In Europe and East Asia, Gottlieb’s victims were prisoners in secret detention centers. One of those centers, built in the basement of a former villa in the German town of Kronberg, might have been the first secret CIA prison. While CIA scientists and their former Nazi comrades sat before a stone fireplace discussing the techniques of mind control, prisoners in basement cells were being prepared as subjects in brutal and sometimes fatal experiments.
These were the most gruesome experiments the U.S. government ever conducted on human beings. In one of the them, seven prisoners in Lexington, Kentucky, were given multiple doses of LSD for 77 days straight. In another, captured North Koreans were given depressant drugs, then dosed with potent stimulants and exposed to intense heat and electroshock while they were in the weakened state of transition. These experiments destroyed many minds and caused an unknown number of deaths. Many of the potions, pills and aerosols administered to victims were created at Detrick.
One of the most well-known victims of the MK-ULTRA experiments was Frank Olson. Olson was a CIA officer who had spent his entire career at Detrick and knew its deepest secrets. When he began musing about quitting the CIA, his comrades saw a security threat. Gottlieb summoned the team to a retreat and arranged for Olson to be drugged with LSD. A week later, Olson died in a plunge from a hotel window in New York. The CIA called it suicide. Olson’s family believes he was thrown from the window to prevent him from revealing what was brewing inside Camp Detrick.
A decade of intense experiments taught Gottlieb that there are indeed ways to destroy a human mind. He never, however, found a way to implant a new mind in the resulting void. The grail he sought eluded him. MK-ULTRA ended in failure in the early 1960s. “The conclusion from all these activities,” he admitted afterward, “was that it was very difficult to manipulate human behavior in this way.”
Nonetheless Fort Detrick, as it was renamed in 1956, remained Gottlieb’s chemical base. After the end of MK-ULTRA, he used it to develop and store the CIA’s arsenal of poisons. In his freezers, he kept biological agents that could cause diseases including smallpox, tuberculosis and anthrax as well as a number of organic toxins, including snake venom and paralytic shellfish poison. He developed poisons intended to kill Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba.
During this period, Fort Detrick’s public profile rose uncomfortably. No one knew the CIA was making poisons there, but its role as the country’s principal center for research into biological and anti-crop warfare became clear. From mid-1959 to mid-1960, protesters convened once a week at the gate. “No rationalization of ‘defense’ can justify the evil of mass destruction and disease,” they wrote in a statement.
In 1970, President Richard Nixon ordered all government agencies to destroy their supplies of biological toxins. Army scientists complied. Gottlieb hesitated. He had spent years assembling this deadly pharmacopeia and did not want to destroy it. After meeting with CIA Director Richard Helms, he reluctantly agreed that he had no choice.
One batch, a supremely potent shellfish poison known as saxitoxin, escaped destruction, though. Two canisters containing nearly 11 grams of saxitoxin—enough to kill 55,000 people—were in Gottlieb’s depot at Fort Detrick. Before Army technicians could remove them, two officers from the Special Operations Division packed them into the trunk of a car and drove them to the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, where the CIA maintained a small chemical warehouse. One of Gottlieb’s aides later testified that he had ordered this operation without informing his boss. By the time the saxitoxin was discovered and destroyed in 1975, Gottlieb had retired.
Gottlieb was the most powerful unknown American of the 20th century—unless there was someone else who conducted brutal experiments across three continents and had a license to kill issued by the U.S. government. Detrick, his indispensable base, still contains untold stories of the cruelty that began there—just 50 miles from the center of the government that has kept them sealed for decades.

The Geneva Protocol of 1925 banned biological and chemical warfare in international armed conflicts in order to prevent the outbreak of another war on the magnitude of World War I. The Japanese delegation in attendance at the conference had signed the agreement, but since the Japanese Diet did not ratify the agreement, Japan was not bound by the Geneva Protocol. Several countries who had ostensibly agreed to the Protocol were developing their own weapons in secret, and Japan was no exception.
The human test subjects of Unit 731 were criminals, political prisoners, Communists, or civilians—usually pregnant women, children, and the elderly—who were considered useful for experiments and were rounded up under trumped-up charges. Seventy percent of these victims were Chinese, while others were Korean, Mongolian, and Russian, and a few might have been Allied prisoners of war. They were called marutas by the researchers, or “logs”, because the local Manchurians were told that the facility was a lumber mill. Research findings discovered at Unit 731 were occasionally published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, where the articles claimed the experiments had been performed on Manchurian monkeys.
Whether these prisoners were called logs or monkeys, their human suffering was immense. One of the most common experiments at Unit 731 was the vivisection of diseased bodies. Researchers found the most virulent strains of disease by infecting prisoners, usually by injecting them with “vaccines” or feeding them contaminated food, and killing those prisoners who recovered quickly from their illnesses. They then injected the more potent bacteria and viruses from the sickest prisoners into the next “generation” of victims. For researchers who wanted to view a more natural progression of disease, some prisoners were kept locked in cages in the same room as plague-infested mice and fleas to see how long it took for them to become infected. The prisoners were then sliced open so that researchers could see how the disease affected living organs. This vivisection was done without anesthetic, to ensure results untainted by any external factors. Vivisections were also commonly performed on pregnant women—many of whom were pregnant by rape.
The researchers were especially interested in the pregnancies of women with syphilis. The Japanese military was struggling to combat the syphilis sweeping through its ranks, likely due to the rape of civilian women and of the comfort women forced to service the military. At first the researchers tried to inject prisoners with syphilis, but seeing that this yielded few results, they turned to raping them. Two prisoners, one infected with syphilis, were placed in a room together along with armed guards and made to have sex with each other. Once the previously healthy partner contracted syphilis, they would be inspected periodically to see the progression of the disease, culminating in a vivisection to see what syphilis did to the organs and—in the case of pregnant prisoners—the baby. Vivisection was practiced on Chinese citizens at many other government-sponsored research facilities besides Unit 731. For a time, it was considered the most effective way to train young Japanese medical students to perform surgeries correctly.
Unit 731 researchers also experimented with methods of treating frostbite. Prisoners were taken outside in freezing weather, sometimes after being dipped in water, and kept there until their limbs were frozen solid. Artificial cool air currents accelerated the freezing. A Japanese officer who watched one of these experiments stated later that frostbite was considered achieved if, when struck, the prisoner’s limbs made a sound like a wooden board. Sometimes prisoners were left to thaw, their arms and legs turning gangrenous until they rotted. Usually, however, frostbite victims were immersed in water at various temperatures to see which temperatures cured frostbite the fastest. It’s from these tests run by Unit 731 that the world knows the most effective way to deal with frostbite—not to rub the affected limbs, but to immerse them in water between 100 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
But the main research aim of Unit 731 was to develop the most effective biological warfare weapons. At a testing ground called Anda, prisoners were lashed to stakes and suffocated with poison gas or forced to wait while planes dropped plague bombs—bombs full of plague-infested fleas—over them. Prisoners were also used to test the effective range of flamethrowers, chemical weapons, and bombs, including bacteriological bombs. The resulting shrapnel of these weapons was often infected with various diseases, so that researchers could discover how long it would take people to die from being hit by flying shrapnel only. Unit 731 helped develop balloon bombs, which were sent to float across the Pacific to the United States and cause destruction and terror. Only a few ever actually arrived in the United States and went off, and while American news outlets were requested not to report on these bombs for fear of causing mass hysteria, there were at least seven verified American victims.
Unit 731 was also instrumental in planning an army operation which was never carried out, Cherry Blossoms at Night, which involved infecting San Diego with the bubonic plague using kamikaze pilots. This operation was halted in large part, it seems, by the intervention of Hideki Tojo—a man the United States later hanged for his other war crimes. Other contributing factors to the failure of Cherry Blossoms at Night were the Japanese surrender in August 1945 (Cherry Blossoms at Night was planned for September) and the necessity near the end of the war for the Japanese to focus on defense rather than offense.
China wasn’t so lucky. Using knowledge developed from Unit 731 tests, the Imperial Japanese Army created plague bombs and had airplanes spray diseases like bubonic plague, cholera, and anthrax over Chinese cities, killing hundreds of thousands of people. Plague outbreaks, for example, were reported in Changde in north-central China and Ningbo in eastern China. Between three and four hundred thousand Chinese people are estimated to have been killed by this method of biological warfare.
Unit 731’s other experiments included injecting prisoners with animal blood and horse urine, heating them until they died, spinning them with centrifuges until they died, and locking them in pressure chambers until their eyes popped out. It’s estimated that about 3,000 people died from the tortures they underwent at Unit 731.
After the war, the American government helped cover up many of the atrocities the Japanese military committed during the war. The masterminds of Unit 731 were granted immunity during the Tokyo Trials in exchange for handing over what data existed on the Unit 731 experiments. Many of those affiliated with Unit 731 enjoyed long and illustrious medical careers. Three Unit 731 researchers became the president of the Japan Medical Association, the head of the Japan Olympic Committee, and the Governor of Tokyo.
In April 2018, a nearly complete list of the 3,607 people who were employed by Unit 731 on January 1, 1945 was released to the public. Katsuo Nishiyama, professor emeritus of Shiga University of Medical Science, is attempting to use the list to declare the university degree of one of Unit 731’s officers illegitimate. It seems likely the experiments which this man oversaw for his dissertation were performed on Unit 731 prisoners, rather than on animals as he had claimed. Many hope that the release of this list will be a major step towards Japan openly condemning its wartime atrocities.

How Obama’s Brain Activity Map Could Be Mind Control – Obama Brain …
The project’s leaders are not blind to this darkness. At the end of the paper, they note that the project has “potential ethical ramifications,” and that these include “issues of mind-control.” To assuage concerns about these ramifications, they write, it’s going to be up to the scientists participating in the project to engage “diverse sets of stakeholders and the lay public early and thoughtfully.” Speaking of those stakeholders, is it any surprise that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will reportedly be involved, or that Google and Microsoft have already taken part in some of the preparatory groundwork?
I’m not saying that the President’s brain-mapping project is a bad idea. As he put it in his State of the Union address, it could help “unlock the answers to Alzheimer’s,” among other worthy goals. But I do think it’s worth considering that this same project is also a DARPA-associated endeavor that could lead to the development of the first truly sci-fi caliber mind-control technology.

On April 2, 2013 President Obama unveiled a $100 million public-private initiative to map the brain. The initiative is called BRAIN which is an acronym for Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies. The BRAIN Initiative will help scientists gain greater insights into how we think, learn and remember at a neural level. It will also give us a better understanding of how to treat diseases ranging from autism to schizophrenia.
Francis Collins, MD, PhD, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), said that BRAIN will bring together experts from industry, academia and federal agencies in neurotechnology, neurosciences and neurology to unlock the mysteries of the brain. The team will be led by two neurobiologists: Cornelia “Cori” Bargmann of Rockefeller University and William Newsome of Stanford Medical School. Bargmann and Newsome were both contributors on the fascinating Charlie Rose: The Brain Series with Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel of Columbia University.

“As humans, we can identify galaxies light years away, we can study particles smaller than an atom. But we still haven’t unlocked the mystery of the three pounds of matter that sits between our ears.
But today, scientists possess the capability to study individual neurons and figure out the main functions of certain areas of the brain. But a human brain contains almost 100 billion neurons making trillions of connections. So Dr. Collins says it’s like listening to the strings section and trying to figure out what the whole orchestra sounds like. So as a result, we’re still unable to cure diseases like Alzheimer’s or autism, or fully reverse the effects of a stroke. And the most powerful computer in the world isn’t nearly as intuitive as the one we’re born with.
So it won’t be easy. But think about what we could do once we do crack this code. BRAIN Initiative Challenges Researchers to Unlock Mysteries of Human Mind

Today at the White House, President Obama unveiled the “BRAIN” Initiative —a bold new research effort to revolutionize our understanding of the human mind and uncover new ways to treat, prevent, and cure brain disorders like Alzheimer’s, schizophrenia, autism, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury.
The Initiative promises to accelerate the invention of new technologies that will help researchers produce real-time pictures of complex neural circuits and visualize the rapid-fire interactions of cells that occur at the speed of thought. Such cutting-edge capabilities, applied to both simple and complex systems, will open new doors to understanding how brain function is linked to human behavior and learning, and the mechanisms of brain disease.
The BRAIN Initiative is launching with approximately $100 million in funding for research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the President’s Fiscal Year 2014 budget.
Foundations and private research institutions are also investing in the neuroscience that will advance the BRAIN Initiative. The Allen Institute for Brain Science, for example, will spend at least $60 million annually to support projects related to this initiative. The Kavli Foundation plans to support BRAIN Initiative-related activities with approximately $4 million dollars per year over the next ten years. The Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies will also dedicate research funding for projects that support the BRAIN Initiative.
This is just the beginning. We hope many more foundations, Federal agencies, philanthropists, non-profits, companies, and others will step up to the President’s call to action.

Obama’s remote control mouse: First results of Presidential plan to revolutionise neuroscience released

The mouse walked, the mouse stopped; the mouse ignored a bowl of food, then scampered back and gobbled it up, and it was all controlled by neuroscientists, researchers have revealed.
The study, describing a way to manipulate a lab animal’s brain circuitry accurately enough to turn behaviors both on and off, is the first to be published under President Barack Obama’s 2013 BRAIN Initiative, which aims to advance neuroscience and develop therapies for brain disorders.
The point of the remote-control mouse is not to create an army of robo-rodents.
North Carolina researchers say they can control brains accurately enough to turn behaviours on and off in the first research from President Barack Obama’s neuroscience Initiative.
Instead, neuroscientists hope to perfect a technique for identifying brain wiring underlying any behavior,and control that behaviour by activating and deactivating neurons.
If scientists are able do that for the circuitry involved in psychiatric or neurological disorders, it may lead to therapies.
That approach reflects a shift away from linking such illnesses to ‘chemical imbalances’ in the brain, instead tracing them to miswiring and misfiring in neuronal circuits.
‘This tool sharpens the cutting edge of research aimed at improving our understanding of brain circuit disorders, such as schizophrenia and addictive behaviors,’ said Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, which funded the $1 million study.
The technique used to control neurons is called DREADDs (designer receptors exclusively activated by designer drugs).
Brain neurons are genetically engineered to produce a custom-made – ‘designer’ – receptor.
When the receptor gathers in a manmade molecule that fits like a key in a lock, the neuron is activated.
Because the receptor does not respond to other molecules, including natural ones in the brain, the only way to activate the neurons is via the manmade one. DREADDs allow scientists to manipulate neurons without implanting anything in the brain.

DREADDs, invented about a decade ago, had been used to turn neurons on or off, but not both. DREADDs 2.0 are the first to do that, scientists led by Bryan Roth of the University of North Carolina reported in Neuron.
Targeting hunger-promoting neurons, the scientists made mice ignore food bowls or dive into them. Targeting movement neurons, they made mice scamper or stop.
In a competing remote-control technique called optogenetics, engineered neurons are activated upon receiving a pulse of light.
That turns them on and off more quickly than with DREADDs, but the hardware required for delivering light to a spot in the brain is invasive and cumbersome.
Early iterations of DREADD could only control activity in one direction – on or off – in the same population of cells. DREADD 2.0 takes advantage of properties offered by a particular type of receptor, paired with a biologically inert chemical that binds to it, to add bidirectional control.
Coupled with an existing DREADD, it can be used experimentally to probe circuitry of a broad range of behaviors via sequential, on-and-off control of neurons.
It’s like having two sets of locks with their own unique keys – one triggering ‘on,’ the other turning ‘off.’ For example, the researchers demonstrated how the improved DREAD toolkit can bi-directionally control animals’ movement and feeding behaviors.
Since DREADD effects last about an hour – as opposed to milliseconds with an alternative optical-genetic technology – it may be the tool of choice for studies of behaviors requiring prolonged control of circuitry and/or minimal invasiveness.
The feat was first documented by others in a human in 2006 in the pre-YouTube era and with technology that is far more cumbersome, mooring patients to a computer with a cord.
Mr. Musk’s presentation on Wednesday night offered little that was significantly new from previous demonstrations of the device. He continued to claim that the implant could make computer control possible for people with paralysis outside of a lab setting. But experts in the field questioned whether the demonstration showed major progress with the device, especially given the breadth of work underway nationwide.
“These are incremental advances,” Daniel Yoshor, a neurosurgeon and neuroscientist at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania who has worked with similar devices, said after watching the presentation. “The hardware is impressive but does not represent a dramatic advance in restoring or enhancing brain function.”
Neuralink’s engineering work is an important advance, he added, but the results shown by the company were not as important.
The company does not have approval from the Food and Drug Administration to sell the device. Mr. Musk said on Wednesday that the company had submitted most of its paperwork to the agency to seek permission to implant its device in a human. He predicted a test in humans in six months, but any step toward trials in people would be up to the F.D.A. after a full evaluation of the risks of surgical implantation and safety of the device.
Neuralink originally scheduled the event for the end of October, before Mr. Musk, a multibillionaire, postponed the presentation amid one of the more chaotic months of his career. He recently completed his off-again, on-again purchase of Twitter, which has commanded much of his attention — and generated considerable controversy — over management of the social media company.
While Mr. Musk juggles that and other duties — he also oversees the electric carmaker Tesla and the rocket company SpaceX — Neuralink is emerging from a period of change. Last year, Max Hodak, the company’s president and one of its co-founders, left to launch his own venture in the field. Neuralink’s chief executive is officially Jared Birchall, a wealth manager who runs Mr. Musk’s family office.
Leaders in the field of brain-computer interface technology have been closely watching Neuralink’s investment in a device that operated without protruding wires or hardware. Yet Mr. Musk’s presentations thus far have concerned and underwhelmed many of them.
A 2021 Neuralink presentation of a monkey playing the video game Pong with his mind was similar to a primate demonstration at Brown University in 2001, though it had a far clunkier system.
In a 2020 presentation showcasing a pig with the implant, Mr. Musk suggested the device could “solve” conditions including paralysis and insomnia and could even give a user “superhuman vision.” Such applications sound like science fiction to scientists who are singularly focused on restoring basic functions, like typing, speaking or lifting a fork, to those who have lost them after a spinal cord injury or a dire diagnosis. For such patients, the benefits weigh favorably against the small, but serious, risk of brain surgery.
“No one is talking about implanting able-bodied people,” said Cindy Chestek, an associate professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan whose lab is working on restoring function to amputees.
On Wednesday night, Mr. Musk said plans for his device included making the blind see and giving someone with a severed spinal cord “full-body functionality.” The claims drew applause from the audience, but do not reflect the state of the field.
“I would not say that with confidence,” Dr. Yoshor said after Mr. Musk had claimed the Neuralink device would give sight to people who have never seen before. “I would be highly unsure of this kind of device in a patient with congenital blindness.”
Safety will be the F.D.A.’s primary concern in considering whether the device could be tested in humans, said Cristin Welle, an associate professor of neuroscience at the University of Colorado, who helped draft F.D.A. guidance on brain-computer implants before leaving the agency in 2016.
Dr. Welle said regulators will focus on whether the device would damage the brain or present unreasonable risks to patients. She said device durability would also be considered, given the potential for brain fluids to eat through insulation coating the hundreds of hairlike electrodes on the Link device.
So far, Neuralink has tested the device on sheep, pigs and primates, according to records filed with the Agriculture Department.
Several other companies and scientists have already obtained approval from the F.D.A. to study similar devices in humans. In 2004, researchers conducted human trials with the Utah array, a device the size of a baby aspirin and fitted with spikes that is surgically placed on the brain. It connects through a wire to a small computer installed on the head that transmits to a computer. This neural interface system is called BrainGate.
With the pieces in place, scientists seek patterns in the electrical current of neurons that signal the brain’s intention to type letters or lift a hand. The code, in turn, commands a computer or robot to perform the task.
Nearly three dozen patients have undergone testing with the Utah array device. Using the technology, people with paralysis or other disabilities have lifted a cinnamon latte with a robotic arm in 2011, typed letters quoting Shakespeare in 2012 and lifted forkfuls of mashed potatoes in 2016.
But the Utah array is not suited to long-term use. It rises up out of the skull, tethers users to a cord linked to a computer and exposes them to the risk of a brain infection. For these and other reasons, companies like Neuralink are working to build devices that are fully implanted.
PRIME Study Progress Update
The current version of the device — the N1 Implant — is an intracortical BCI implant designed to record neural activity through 1,024 electrodes distributed across 64 flexible leads, or “threads,” each of which are thinner than a human hair and capable of being placed independently in the brain.
While the thin and flexible nature of the threads are designed to decrease participant risk and increase device utility, they also make the threads impractical to manipulate by hand. Therefore, we’ve built a surgical robot — the R1 Robot — designed to reliably and efficiently insert the threads into the cortex, so that the electrodes can be placed near neurons of interest.
Signals acquired by the electrodes are routed to electronics contained in the enclosure of the N1 Implant, which process and wirelessly transmit the neural data to an instance of the Neuralink Application running on an external device, such as a computer. The Neuralink Application decodes and translates the neural data into actions, such as movements of a cursor on a computer screen. The N1 Implant is powered by an onboard battery that is inductively recharged by the N1 Charger. The ability to wirelessly communicate and inductively charge enables the N1 Implant to be surgically implanted under the scalp so that it is cosmetically invisible and used without any physical connectors to external devices.

The title, “Mind Control,” is not talking about political brainwashing or hypnotic trances. It means that all growing Christians are responsible to control their thinking.
The Bible says that our thought life is an extremely important and vital aspect of being a Christian. What we are is determined largely by what and how we think. Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a person thinks within himself, so he is.” The Bible teaches the responsibility of mind control. It also gives us definite guidelines to follow, so that our thought life will be controlled and pleasing to God. Let us look at a few of the many biblical passages dealing with mind control.
Change Perspectives
Romans 12:2 commands us to change our perspectives. We are not to be conformed to this world’s way of thinking, but to be transformed to God’s way of thinking. It’s important to understand that “the world” is not just a label for “worldly” trash or a list of taboos. “The world” is basically a system of values that is contrary to the biblical set of values. Our thought patterns must be brought under the control of the divine value system.
The world says that if you want to be great, get to the top any way you can. Go for it! Be Number One! But God says that to be truly great is to “serve one another” (Matthew 20:25-28). Are we conformed to the world’s system of values – or transformed to God’s set of values? Do we serve one another – or do we manipulate one another? What’s our real motive for wanting a leadership position? See how easy it is for Christians to operate on the basis of worldly standards rather than biblical standards? We may not have a problem with alcohol or drugs, but our minds are worldly if we’re trying to be great by any way other than serving one another!
That’s just one example that points up how different the world’s value system is from God’s value system. Look at some other biblical values in Matthew 6:32-33 and Luke 6:38, and see they differ from the value system of the world. We must constantly evaluate our motives and judgments and persuasions, because Satan is a master at deceiving us.
Romans 12:2 also tells us that continually renewing our minds is the only way to be transformed from conformity to the world’s value system. Renewal of our thinking involves a steady diet of the Word of God. A constant intake and “digestion” of biblical standards will renew and control our minds. Our thinking, and thus our actions, will no longer be conformed and controlled by the values and culture of the world, but will increasingly line up with the values and will of God: “the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Capture Preoccupations
Another principle of mind control is to capture preoccupations. We are to make every thought an obedient captive to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Immoral thoughts and selfish thoughts must be brought under control, just like enemy captives in time of war. Notice that spiritual warfare is the context of 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Of course it’s almost impossible for us to keep sinful thoughts from passing through our minds, but we can stop being preoccupied with sinful thoughts. As Martin Luther said many years ago, “You cannot keep the birds of the air from flying over your head, but you can keep them from building nests in your hair!”
We can stop fantasizing. We can stop watching the kind of movies and TV shows that will pollute our minds. We can avoid internet sites that pander to sinful behaviors. In short, we can prevent our minds from being preoccupied with thoughts that are not honoring to the Lord Jesus. We can control a lot of what goes into our minds – and we can certainly control the preoccupations of our minds. Let’s not allow any harmful thoughts to begin to take control of our thought life.
Checking Pride
A humble mind is also an important part of mind control. It’s a lot easier to talk about checking pride than actually doing it. But Philippians 2:2-4 gives us some guidelines on how to obtain humility of mind. Verse 3 gives us some very practical advice on how to start the pride-checking process. Never think of yourself as better or greater than others in your fellowship – even if you’re smarter or richer or older or nicer-looking – or whatever. In fact, always consider others as more important than yourself! Although God created all men equal, God still tells us that the key to mind control in the area of pride is always to think of the other person as more important than “ME.”
Remember that these verses were addressed historically to believers. Certainly some of the Christians in the church at Philippi were more gifted than others, and some were carrying more of the workload than others, and some were more spiritually mature than others. And yet God’s directive in that situation was for everyone to regard every other fellow-believer as a more important person!
You can be sure that if we were to follow this way of thinking, the problem of pride would be checked, and our minds would be more controlled. A proud Christian may look like he or she has it all together, but unchecked pride always ripples out to hurt other people. Pride is a sure sign of a mind out of control before God.
Conquer Prejudice
We must also conquer prejudice towards others in our program of mind control. This responsibility emerges from Philippians 4:8, when it’s seen against the background of the entire letter. One of the reasons for this letter was a division that was occurring in the Philippian fellowship. It seems it was not a major doctrinal disagreement, or the apostle would have addressed it directly! Apparently it was a minor matter on which the church could not agree – maybe a financial decision? In any case, the friction was causing personal rivalries and bad feelings among the believers. Sadly, two Christian women who had actively served with Paul were particularly involved in the problem (4:2-3). Paul knew very well that molehills can become mountains, so throughout the epistle he urged the Philippians to show unselfish love to one another. Look, for example, at the context of self-sacrifice in Philippians 2:1-11 – that beautiful Christological passage!
In Philippians 4 the exhortation toward unity continues. The Philippian Christians were to work at forbearance (self-restraint when provoked) with all the members of the fellowship (4:5). They were not to get uptight about present circumstances – even when things weren’t going their way (4:6). Peace of mind and heart through prayer (and not through manipulative persuasion of others!) was the way to go (4:6-7).
A final “suggestion” is given to the Philippians to help them along the road to greater unity: they should think positively about one another (v8)! And so should we! Let’s not fix our thoughts on the faults of fellow-believers – but on their good points! Let’s focus on whatever is noble and honorable about the brother who’s always complaining. There must be something true and right about him! Let’s think about whatever is pure and lovable in the sister who spreads rumors. She must have some admirable quality! If there is even the faintest glimmer of excellence, or the smallest item worthy of praise, then let our minds dwell on those positive things.
Every believer has weaknesses as well as strengths – even you and me! But if we make a definite effort not to focus on the negatives of the person, but rather to think about the strengths, we’ll find that we’re able to conquer our prejudices about our fellow-believers. Try drawing up a list of positives for every person who’s bugging you, and see how this results in greater control of your thoughts about other people. This type of mind control brings not only peace to your fellowship – it brings the presence of God to your soul (4:7). Conquering our prejudices pleases the God of peace (4:9).
Cultivate Priorities
A further principle of mind control is seen in 1 Peter 1:13: cultivate priorities. “Gird up your minds for action” means to be disciplined in our thinking. This expression comes from Bible days, when the people gathered up (girded up) their long garments for unimpeded work or activity. Too many side interests can impede and interfere with our priorities as growing Christians. In view of our great salvation (1:3-12), we should therefore discipline our minds to set our priorities properly.
How much time do we waste thinking about things that are not going to matter 100 years from now? Or one year – or even a month from now?! Why not control our minds to think more about eternal realities, as this verse commands us? This verse doesn’t mean that we can never to think about styles or sales or superbowls or the stock market – or other temporal things, but rather that we need to cultivate the habit of thinking more about what really matters.
Maybe we could start by cultivating the priority of spending some time alone with the Lord every day – reading His Word and communicating Him in prayer. It’s not easy to maintain the habit of regular time with God, but disciplined control of our minds with God’s Word is of primary importance. It leads to practicing all the other principles of mind control!

MK-ULTRA, which operated from the 1950s until the early ’60s, was created and run by a chemist named Sidney Gottlieb. Journalist Stephen Kinzer, who spent several years investigating the program, calls the operation the “most sustained search in history for techniques of mind control.”
Some of Gottlieb’s experiments were covertly funded at universities and research centers, Kinzer says, while others were conducted in American prisons and in detention centers in Japan, Germany and the Philippines. Many of his unwitting subjects endured psychological torture ranging from electroshock to high doses of LSD, according to Kinzer’s research.
“Gottlieb wanted to create a way to seize control of people’s minds, and he realized it was a two-part process,” Kinzer says. “First, you had to blast away the existing mind. Second, you had to find a way to insert a new mind into that resulting void. We didn’t get too far on number two, but he did a lot of work on number one.”
Ultimately, Gottlieb concluded that mind control was not possible. After MK-ULTRA shut down, he went on to lead a CIA program that created poisons and high-tech gadgets for spies to use.

On how the CIA brought LSD to America
As part of the search for drugs that would allow people to control the human mind, CIA scientists became aware of the existence of LSD, and this became an obsession for the early directors of MK-ULTRA. Actually, the MK-ULTRA director, Sidney Gottlieb, can now be seen as the man who brought LSD to America. He was the unwitting godfather of the entire LSD counterculture.
In the early 1950s, he arranged for the CIA to pay $240,000 to buy the world’s entire supply of LSD. He brought this to the United States, and he began spreading it around to hospitals, clinics, prisons and other institutions, asking them, through bogus foundations, to carry out research projects and find out what LSD was, how people reacted to it and how it might be able to be used as a tool for mind control.
Now, the people who volunteered for these experiments and began taking LSD, in many cases, found it very pleasurable. They told their friends about it. Who were those people? Ken Kesey, the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, got his LSD in an experiment sponsored by the CIA by MK-ULTRA, by Sidney Gottlieb. So did Robert Hunter, the lyricist for the Grateful Dead, which went on to become a great purveyor of LSD culture. Allen Ginsberg, the poet who preached the value of the great personal adventure of using LSD, got his first LSD from Sidney Gottlieb. Although, of course, he never knew that name.
So the CIA brought LSD to America unwittingly, and actually it’s a tremendous irony that the drug that the CIA hoped would be its key to controlling humanity actually wound up fueling a generational rebellion that was dedicated to destroying everything that the CIA held dear and defended.
On how MK-ULTRA experimented on prisoners, including crime boss Whitey Bulger
Whitey Bulger was one of the prisoners who volunteered for what he was told was an experiment aimed at finding a cure for schizophrenia. As part of this experiment, he was given LSD every day for more than a year. He later realized that this had nothing to do with schizophrenia and he was a guinea pig in a government experiment aimed at seeing what people’s long-term reactions to LSD was. Essentially, could we make a person lose his mind by feeding him LSD every day over such a long period?
Bulger wrote afterward about his experiences, which he described as quite horrific. He thought he was going insane. He wrote, “I was in prison for committing a crime, but they committed a greater crime on me.” And towards the end of his life, Bulger came to realize the truth of what had happened to him, and he actually told his friends that he was going to find that doctor in Atlanta who was the head of that experiment program in the penitentiary and go kill him.
On the CIA hiring Nazi doctors and Japanese torturers to learn methods
The CIA mind control project, MK-ULTRA, was essentially a continuation of work that began in Japanese and Nazi concentration camps. Not only was it roughly based on those experiments, but the CIA actually hired the vivisectionists and the torturers who had worked in Japan and in Nazi concentration camps to come and explain what they had found out so that we could build on their research.
For example, Nazi doctors had conducted extensive experiments with mescaline at the Dachau concentration camp, and the CIA was very interested in figuring out whether mescaline could be the key to mind control that was one of their big avenues of investigation. So they hired the Nazi doctors who had been involved in that project to advise them.
Another thing the Nazis provided was information about poison gases like sarin, which is still being used. Nazi doctors came to America to Fort Detrick in Maryland, which was the center of this project, to lecture to CIA officers to tell them how long it took for people to die from sarin.
On the more extreme experiments Gottlieb conducted overseas
Gottlieb and the CIA established secret detention centers throughout Europe and East Asia, particularly in Japan, Germany and the Philippines, which were largely under American control in the period of the early ’50s, and therefore Gottlieb didn’t have to worry about any legal entanglements in these places. …
CIA officers in Europe and Asia were capturing enemy agents and others who they felt might be suspected persons or were otherwise what they called “expendable.” They would grab these people and throw them into cells and then test all kinds of, not just drug potions, but other techniques, like electroshock, extremes of temperature, sensory isolation — all the meantime bombarding them with questions, trying to see if they could break down resistance and find a way to destroy the human ego. So these were projects designed not only to understand the human mind but to figure out how to destroy it. And that made Gottlieb, although in some ways a very compassionate person, certainly the most prolific torturer of his generation.
On how these experiments were unsupervised
[Gottlieb] operated almost completely without supervision. He had sort of a checkoff from his titular boss and from his real boss, Richard Helms, and from the CIA director, Allen Dulles. But none of them really wanted to know what he was doing. This guy had a license to kill. He was allowed to requisition human subjects across the United States and around the world and subject them to any kind of abuse that he wanted, even up to the level of it being fatal — yet nobody looked over his shoulder. He never had to file serious reports to anybody. I think the mentality must have been [that] this project is so important — mind control, if it can be mastered, is the key to global world power.
On how Gottlieb destroyed evidence about his experiments when he left the CIA
The end of Gottlieb’s career came in [1973], when his patron, Richard Helms, who was then director of the CIA, was removed by [President Richard] Nixon. Once Helms was gone, it was just a matter of time until Gottlieb would be gone, and most important was that Helms was really the only person at the CIA who had an idea of what Gottlieb had been doing. So as they were both on their way out of the CIA, they agreed that they should destroy all records of MK-ULTRA. Gottlieb actually drove out to the CIA records center and ordered the archives to destroy boxes full of MK-ULTRA records. … However, it turns out that there were some [records] found in other places; there was a depot for expense account reports that had not been destroyed, and various other pieces of paper remain. So there is enough out there to reconstruct some of what he did, but his effort to wipe away his traces by destroying all those documents in the early ’70s was quite successful.

Signals Intelligence (SIGINT)
The Signals Intelligence mission of the NSA has evolved into a program of decoding EMF waves in the environment for wirelessly tapping into computers and tracking persons with the electrical currents in their bodies. Signals Intelligence is based on the fact that everything in the environment with an electric current in it has a magnetic flux around it which gives off EMF waves. The NSA/DoD has developed proprietary advanced digital equipment which can remotely analyze all objects whether man-made or organic that have electrical activity.
Domestic Intelligence (DOMINT)
The NSA has records on all U.S. citizens. The NSA gathers information on U.S. citizens who might be of interest to any of the over 50,000 NSA agents (HUMINT). These agents are authorized by executive order to spy on anyone. The NSA has a permanent National Security Anti-Terrorist surveillance network in place. This surveillance network is completely disguised and hidden from the public.
Tracking individuals in the U.S. is easily and cost-effectively implemented with the NSA’s electronic surveillance network. This network (DOMINT) covers the entire U.S., involves tens of thousands of NSA personnel, and tracks millions of persons simultaneously. Cost effective implementation of operations is assured by NSA computer technology designed to minimize operations costs.
NSA personnel serve in Quasi-public positions in their communities and run cover businesses and legitimate businesses that can inform the intelligence community of persons they would want to track. N.S.A. personnel in the community usually have cover identities such as social workers, lawyers and business owners.
Individual citizens occasionally targeted for surveillance by independently operating NSA personnel.
NSA personnel can control the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals in the U.S. by using the NSA’s domestic intelligence network and cover businesses. The operations independently run by them can sometimes go beyond the bounds of law. Long-term control and sabotage of tens of thousands of unwitting citizens by NSA operatives is likely to happen. NSA Domint has the ability to covertly assassinate U.S. citizens or run covert psychological control operations to cause subjects to be diagnosed with ill mental health.
NSA’s domestic electronic surveillance network
As of the early 1960’s the most advanced computers in the world were at the NSA, Ft. Meade. Research breakthroughs with these computers were kept for the NSA. At the present time the NSA has nanotechnology computers that are 15 years ahead of present computer technology.
The NSA obtains blanket coverage of information in the U.S. by using advanced computers that use artificial intelligence to screen all communications, irregardless of medium, for key words that should be brought to the attention of NSA agents/cryptologists. These computers monitor all communications at the transmitting and receiving ends. This blanket coverage of the U.S. is a result of the NSA’s Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) mission.
The NSA’s electronic surveillance network is based on a cellular arrangement of devices that can monitor the entire EMF spectrum. This equipment was developed, implemented, and kept secret in the same manner as other electronic warfare programs.
With this technology NSA personnel can non-obtrusively tap into any communication device in existence. This includes computers, telephones, radio and video-based devices, printers, car electronics, and even the minute electrical fields in humans (for tracking individuals).
Signals Intelligence Remote Computer Tampering
The NSA keeps track of all PCs and other computers sold in the U.S. This is an integral part of the Domestic Intelligence network.
The NSA’s EMF equipment can tune in RF emissions from personal computer circuit boards (while filtering out emissions from monitors and power supplies). The RF emission from PC circuit boards contains digital information in the PC. Coded RF waves from the NSA’s equipment can resonate PC circuits and change data in the PC’s. Thus the NSA can gain wireless modem-style entry into any computer in the country for surveillance or anti-terrorist electronic warfare.
Radio and Television signals can be substituted at the receiving end with special EMF equipment. Replacing signals in Radios and Televisions is another outgrowth of the NSA’s Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) mission.
Detecting EMF Fields in Humans for Surveillance.
A subject’s bioelectric field can be remotely detected, so subjects can be monitored anywhere they are. With special EMF equipment NSA cryptologists can remotely read evoked potentials (from EEGs). These can be decoded into a person’s brain-states and thoughts. The subject is then perfectly monitored from a distance.

NSA Signals Intelligence Use of EMF Brain Stimulation
NSA Signals Intelligence uses EMF Brain Stimulation for Remote Neural Monitoring (RNM) and Electronic
Brain Link (EBL). EMF Brain Stimulation has been in development since the MKUltra program of the early 1950’s, which included neurological research into “radiation” (non-ionizing EMF) and bioelectric research and development. The resulting secret technology is categorized at the National Security Archives as “Radiation Intelligence,” defined as “information from unintentionally emanated electromagnetic waves in the environment, not including radioactivity or nuclear detonation.”
Signals Intelligence implemented and kept this technology secret in the same manner as other electronic warfare programs of the U.S. government. The NSA monitors available information about this technology and withholds scientific research from the public. There are also international intelligence agency agreements to keep this technology secret.
The NSA has proprietary electronic equipment that analyzes electrical activity in humans from a distance. NSA computer-generated brain mapping can continuously monitor all the electrical activity in die brain continuously. The NSA records aid decodes individual brain maps (of hundreds of thousands of persons) for national security purposes. EMF Brain Stimulation is also secretly used by the military for Brain-to-computer link. (In military fighter aircraft, for example.)
For electronic surveillance purposes electrical activity in the speech center of the brain can be translated into the subject’s verbal thoughts. RNM can send encoded signals to the brain’s auditory cortex thus allowing audio communication direct to the brain (bypassing the ears). NSA operatives can use this to covertly debilitate subjects by simulating auditory hallucinations characteristic of paranoid schizophrenia.
Without any contact with the subject, Remote Neural Monitoring can map out electrical activity from the visual cortex of a subject’s brain and show images from the subject’s brain on a video monitor. NSA operatives see what the surveillance subject’s eyes are seeing. Visual memory can also be seen. RNM can send images direct to the visual cortex. bypassing the eyes and optic nerves. National Security Agency Signals Intelligence Electronic Brain Link Technology
NSA SigInt can remotely detect, identify and monitor a person’s bioelectric fields.
The NSA’s Signals Intelligence has the proprietary ability to remotely and non-invasively monitor information in the human brain by digitally decoding the evoked potentials in the 30-50 hz, .5 milliwatt electro-magnetic emissions from the brain.
Neuronal activity in the brain creates a shifting electrical pattern that has a shifting magnetic flux. This magnetic flux puts out a constant 30-50 hz, .5 milliwatt electromagnetic (EMF) wave. Contained in the electromagnetic emission from the brain are spikes and patterns called “evoked potentials.”
Every thought, reaction, motor command, auditory event, and visual image in the brain has a corresponding “evoked potential” or set of “evoked potentials.” The EMF emission from the brain can be decoded into the current thoughts, images and sounds in the subject’s brain.
NSA SigInt uses EMF-transmitted Brain Stimulation as a communications system to transmit information (as well as nervous system messages) to intelligence agents and also to transmit to the brains of covert operations subjects (on a non-perceptible level).
EMF Brain Stimulation works by sending a complexly coded and pulsed electromagnetic signal to trigger evoked potentials (events) in the brain, thereby forming sound and visual images in the brain’s neural circuits. EMF Brain Stimulation can also change a person’s brain-states and affect motor control.
Two-way Electronic Brain-Link is done by remotely monitoring neural audio-visual information while transmitting sound to the auditory cortex (bypassing the ears) and transmitting faint images to the visual cortex (bypassing the optic nerves and eyes, the images appear as floating 2-D screens in the brain).
Two-Way Electronic Brain Link has become the ultimate communications system for CIA/NSA personnel. Remote Neural Monitoring (RNM, remotely monitoring bioelectric information in the human brain) has become the ultimate surveillance system. It is used by a limited number of agents in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
RNM requires decoding the resonance frequency of each specific brain area. That frequency is then modulated in order to impose information in That specific brain area. This modulated information can be put into the brain at varying intensities from subliminal to perceptible. Each person’s brain has a unique set of bioelectric resonance/entrainment frequencies. Sending audio information to a person’s brain at the frequency of another person’s auditory cortex would result in that audio information not being perceived.
The Plaintiff learned of RNM by being in two-way RNM contact with the Kinnecome group at the NSA, Ft. Meade. They used RNM 3D sound direct to the brain to harass the Plaintiff from 10/90 to 5/91. As of 5/91 they have had two-way RNM communications with the Plaintiff and have used RNM to attempt to incapacitate the Plaintiff and hinder the Plaintiff from going to authorities about their activities against the Plaintiff in the last twelve years.
The Kinnecome group has about 100 persons working 24-hours-a-day at Ft Meade. They have also brain-tapped persons the Plaintiff is in contact with to keep the Plaintiff isolated. This is the first time ever that a private citizen has been harassed with RNM and has been able to bring a lawsuit against NSA personnel misusing this intelligence operations method. For the first test of the sensors, scientists trained the software program to recognise six words – including “go”, “left” and “right” – and 10 numbers. Participants hooked up to the sensors silently said the words to themselves and the software correctly picked up the signals 92 per cent of the time.
Then researchers put the letters of the alphabet into a matrix with each column and row labelled with a single-digit number. In that way, each letter was represented by a unique pair of number co-ordinates. These were used to silently spell “NASA” into a web search engine using the program.
“This proved we could browse the web without touching a keyboard,” says Jorgensen.
Noisy settings
Phil Green, a computer scientist focusing on speech and hearing at the University of Sheffield, UK, called the research “interesting and novel” on hearing the news. “If you’re not actually speaking but just thinking about speaking then at least some of the messages still get sent from the brain to the vocal tract,” he says.
But he cautions the preliminary tests may have been successful because of the short lengths of the words and suggests the test be repeated on many different people to test the sensors work on everyone.
The initial success “doesn’t mean it will scale up”, he told New Scientist. “Small-vocabulary, isolated word recognition is a quite different problem than conversational speech, not just in scale but in kind.”
He says conventional voice-recognition technology is more powerful than the apparent results of these sensors, and that “the obvious thing is to couple this with acoustics” to enhance communication in noisy settings.
The NASA team is now working on sensors that will detect signals through clothing.
Why NASA is using mind control
NASA is not only implementing this mind control facilitated satellite program for the American Government/CIA initiative, they are also using this to study chemical interactions between a plasma cell and the environment. They first conducted this study experiment on animals before they decided to use it on human beings.

Therefore not only has NASA studied the occult, they used its detailed calculations and have study forums set up on the internet to not only interview psychics, mediums, occultists but also those of us who have witnessed or been involved in a paranormal/alien interaction. They and the CIA have written thesis to be discussed on these forums, and in doing so then choose from the human participants who they will then use in a Satellite Scientific Study of paranormal/supernatural interactions of the human mind, the physical outcomes and the interactive documented Earth alterations as frequency models.
As our human mind is a chemical based wavelength, at an energy level, our brain and chemical interactions cause emerging patterns that can be viewed through satellite technology. NASA has been causing our brains to be attacked by atomic signals to review the interactive models that they produce on an energy level of interactive signals. This is why so many of us have received alien/spirit attacks as an increasing and documented outcome from this Scientific study. This study is an abuse of our human rights, and is approved and sanctioned by the American Government itself in the hope that it would give them information to allow their technological advancement of energy interactions to assist in creating a new form of technological advancement.
Humanity and the Nature of Earth became NASA’s laboratory and we are now their test lab rats.
To achieve the type of study informant that they wanted to succeed with, was to first gain the data for total mind contact, mind control and then observable controlled alterations in that controlled environment.
How did they achieve this Satellite program, which they have been using on us for many years now?
First was to gain an activated data bank system of coded messages that related to our natural DNA signals. In a brain study done under medical supervision in a conscious patient who needed to relate what responses they were gaining from brain stimulus in an operation, and following other patients studied with this method, proved to NASA Scientists that the total life recall, or what many had witnessed in an NDE experience as total life recall of all thoughts reviewed by the consciousness was such a complete interactive life recall intitiated in that brain stimulus. This allowed NASA the opportunity and awareness to model a satellite brain contact program to this brain application stimulus that could allow them to gain control of that recall system to not only cause us to “review memories as an interactive model”, but to also control memory itself…..because the medical profession demonstrated where it is that the human consciousness records itself.

The narrator of the video of CERN, otherwise known as European Organization for Nuclear Research, claims the two images had been forensically researched and been found to be genuine and not edited.
He said:
“It is not a background you can get on Google. It is an actual picture taken on June 24 2016. It is directly over CERN, and the cloud formation is very interesting.
“The energy that is being produced, you can actually see that minus the lightening strikes.”
He asked viewers if they were concerned about CERN, and advised they should be. He said:
“How much energy did CERN pull into itself? Is this why the weather is so crazy all over the planet? There are many other colliders all over the world.”
The video showed the CERN schedule for the LCH which showed an experiment called awake was due to begin on June 24. The narrator said:
“Is it a coincidence they had just started the Awake experiment?
“This insane ball of energy was directly over the LHC. Some people reported see faces in it. It is amazing they keep messing with nature and denying it.
“What is in the cloud – some say it is lightening or a massive ball of energy. “The amount of energy pulling from nature into the collider itself, you can actually see it “What portals and doors are being opened in this cloud?”
Some believe CERN will use a portal for Satan to return to Earth. Last October exclusively revealed claims from former Whitby town councilor, Simon Parkes that he held a global meditation to prevent this happening.
The LHC is the world’s largest and most powerful machine and is actually used to collide particles at close to the speed of light in a bid to discover more about physics and the possibility of parallel universes.

Snowflakes are often hexagonal from heat extraction. Pent in pentagram refers to enclosing or binding something to create a build up.
