There is a news story that has captured the World this past ,few weeks. I just came upon it recently. It is a tail of deception, intrigue, dark forces, murder, assault, missing persons, a slippery fugitive, multiple murders, bungled law enforcement, parental abetting, celebrity detectives, online sleuths, broken hearts, and fearful residents. Obviously, it has enough trappings to hold the interest and stir the emotions of the public. You may or may not be aware of it. It is the story of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie compounded with the deaths of Crystal (Turner) Beck and Kylen Schulte.
I honestly was surprised at how much of my time and energy I was investing in this story. It was like I just could not help myself. I was driven to learn more and just could not let it go. When that happens to me, it is usually the leading of the Holy Spirit. I try to always yield to the Holy Spirit.
It did not take long before I noticed something spiritually significant. While I was listening to a youtuber breaking down the events of “Van Trip and subsequent Murders” I noticed something on the map the youtuber had on the screen. I new the area where the couple had been stopped by the police was called MOAB, and on the map of the area where Gabby’s body was found I noticed an area named MORAN. It brought to my mind an article I had recently posted, regarding the waters that turned to blood in the land of Israel.
I new immediately this came from GOD. There is a message here. This bizarre series of events contains a message for us. The time frame or the murders and the Blood turning Red in the area around the DEAD SEA in what was once known as MOAB, are the same. from September 14 to September
Stay with me folks. I know most of you are just shaking your head and saying oh sure, here we go…seeing signs in everything. BUT, I am telling you…RIGHT NOW, there are signs EVERYWHERE!
I am not going to go into all the details of the case. There are plenty of bloggers and youtubers online working that 24 hours a day and still finding information everyday. I am just going to post some basic information so you can follow the gist of what I am saying.
I do want to say that from what has been exposed online, we can see that Brian Laundry is one very scary dude. He is really into the dark side and very likely is demon possessed. It even appears that, though Gabby appears to us on the surface to be a very sweet, loving and creative girl, she may have been one to entertain the darkness as well. Though, she may have been forced to participate against her will. It is a very tragic tale. I know that her family and all who knew and loved her are devastated having to learn of what she suffered in her last days. I can say the same for the two women who were murdered as well. I am pretty well convinced that Brian is responsible for their deaths, just based on what I have seen and read.
We should all be praying that Brian Laundrie and anyone and everyone who is aiding and abetting him be brought to justice. That man should not be allowed to walk freely among the unsuspecting public.
This post is not about that case, but about what it may mean for us in the spirit. What is GOD trying to tell us?
Look with me and see what you hear God speaking to your heart.

How an unsolved double homicide and Gabby Petito’s final days have cast a dark cloud over sunny Moab
Every day for the past two weeks, Sean-Paul Schulte sits at the same picnic table at Swanny City Park in Moab, Utah.
He brings cookies, flowers, pictures of his family, meticulously painted rocks, and two pairs of black boots from his daughter, Kylen Schulte, and her wife, Crystal Turner, who on Aug. 18 were found dead in the La Sal Mountains outside of town.
He also brings a clue box.
“There’s really only been two bogus ones,” he said, referring to the roughly 40 tips locals have brought him. “There was one point I was getting clues as fast as I could process them. But It’s been two days with no major clues or breakthroughs, so I think I might be done.”
‘I’m going to find your girls’
Cindy Sue Hunter had already been in touch with Schulte, who called her in June as the Pack Creek Fire burned almost 9,000 acres in the La Sal Mountains. He knew Kylen and Crystal were camping up there and was worried for their safety. The girls were fine.
On Aug. 17, when she again saw Schulte on Facebook imploring locals to help find the two women, whom he had not spoken to in days, Hunter felt compelled to help.
“I don’t know how I’m going to find them or what I’m going to do, but I’m going to go and I’m going to find your girls,” she told Schulte.
So the next day at around 7 a.m., Hunter packed up her car. She took a cooler full of water, and another full of fruit, veggies and nuts. She grabbed towels and blankets. And she brought a shovel, in case the couple needed help digging out their car.
Hunter first stopped at the McDonald’s, where Turner worked, asking her co-workers if they knew anything. She searched up by the Pack Creek area, then drove up into the La Sal Mountains to the Geyser Pass trailhead. On the way she stopped by every ravine, cliff and ditch to look for their car, before chasing down hikers to show them pictures of the women.
At one point she threw her car in reverse, backing up along the dirt road to chase down a group of hikers.
“They probably thought I was crazy,” she said.
Sean-Paul Schulte called, telling her about the “creeper text,” referring to a message one of the women had sent a friend about a suspicious and intimidating man near their campsite.
“And all of a sudden I just had a sense of urgency, like, ‘You have to hurry,’” Hunter said.
Hunter drove back down the rutted, winding Geyser Pass road. She stopped at more campsites, showing a group of women pictures of Kylen and Crystal. She drove across a cattle guard and caught a reflection of light to her left. She turned into a campsite and saw the couple’s Kia. She called the police. She saw the rabbit the two girls would often bring camping, locked in its cage, and apologized to it because she couldn’t remember its name. She called Schulte. She noticed a creek running near the car, and walked past a pile of plastic Gatorade bottles.
“And then I saw Kylen’s body in the creek.”
Hunter immediately turned away and went into shock.
“At that point, according to Sean-Paul, I started just rambling nonsense, talking about how pretty the creek was,” she said.
Hunter’s memory is foggy from that point on. She remembers Schulte screaming, telling her to “get the (expletive) out of there, get in your car, lock your windows, lock your doors.”
She remembers driving back up the road to wait for police.
And she remembers the officer walking up to her, his lips trembling, unable to speak as he threw his hands in the air in disbelief.
Hunter got home that night at about 6:30. She didn’t sleep for 10 days.
A search warrant would later reveal both women were found partially undressed in the creek, with multiple gunshot wounds.
The Deseret News has reached out multiple times to both the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the murder, and the Moab Police Department. Neither have responded.
The Salt Lake City FBI office said it is assisting with the investigation, but otherwise could not comment.
The Gabby Petito connection
When the news broke that Gabby Petito, who was tragically found dead in Grand Teton National Park on Sunday, was stopped along with her fiance, Brian Laundrie, outside of Arches National Park, Moab became integral to the missing persons case captivating the country.
Two days before Schulte and Turner were killed, police pulled over Petito’s van after a 911 call detailed a man “slapping the girl … they ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her, hopped in the car, and they drove off,” according to audio of the call.
The two were questioned separately — body camera footage shows Arches visitor and resource protection supervisor Melissa Hulls speaking with Petito for over one hour.
“She had a lot of anxiety about being away from him,” Hulls told the Deseret News in an exclusive interview. “Because they were both compliant and apologetic and gave us stories that matched, we didn’t feel like either of them were trying to pull the wool over our eyes or be deceiving in any way. It made more sense to separate them for the night.”
The two were back on the road in days. Weeks later, Petito was reported missing.
The incident brought a brief national spotlight to the murder of Schulte and Turner, as conspiracy theories flourished on Reddit boards and Facebook, emboldened after the Grand County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were “not ruling anything out.”
They were quick to ask, did Laundrie kill Schulte and Turner? Many pointed out the 911 call was placed near the Moonflower, where Schulte worked.
The department would later declare the two incidents unrelated, but the online rumor mill is still churning.
“Their timelines lined up for a couple days,” said Sean-Paul Schulte. “There was this big deal about Brian and Gabby getting in a tussle in front of the Moonflower. And Kylen is the kind of person that would step out and say, ‘Hey, stop, you guys be nice.’”
Sean-Paul Schulte hugs friend Scott Gorgacz in Swanny City Park in Moab on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. Schulte has been in the park every day for the past two weeks seeking community tips in the murder of his daughter, Kylen Schulte, and her wife, Crystal Turner.
A shining light
Every single Moab resident that spoke with the Deseret News knew who Schulte and Turner were. Some knew them from Moab’s vibrant LGBTQ community. Others frequented the Moonflower or McDonald’s. Many saw them riding around town on Turner’s Harley-Davidson.
“Their love just shined bright and everybody looked at them,” Sean-Paul Shulte said. “You couldn’t help but look at them and go, ‘Wow, what’s going on with these two?’ One tall, young and beautiful, one short and a little bit older, leathered up and toughened up. One cares about flowers and butterflies and the other cares about Harleys and medium rare steaks … everybody just loved the Harley. You’d have little Crystal in the front, you’d have Kylen on the back, a foot taller. And if you saw from the rear you’d think Kylen was riding by herself.”

Blood Red – Why There? Why Now?
Waters of Biblical Desert Pool Turn Blood Red
Strange phenomenon has both Jews and Muslims looking to divine plagues, as well as more contemporary conspiracies
The pool is located on the Jordanian side of the border in the biblical region of Moab. Jordanian water officials attributed it to either a particular algae that secretes a pink fluid, or the introduction of iron oxide.
Of course, water turning red is seen in both Judaism and Islam as a sign of divine punishment through plagues, and there was no shortage of people suggesting such a cause in this instance.
Traditional Jewish sources have long taught that the 10 plagues God used to smite ancient Egypt will make a reappearance just prior to the Messianic redemption.
Many Jordanians also took a more cynical viewpoint, accusing their government of covering up some mystery source of pollution.
The maps below show the pool that turned blood red (left) and the Ancient kingdoms of Israel (right) showing Moab along the area where the pool turned blood red.

I FIND IT VERY INTERESTING that apparently Gabby posted the following photo on July 14-21. GABBY and BRIAN – VISIT ZION!!
MOAB AND MORAN in USA. Moran, Wyoming and MOAB Utah.
MOAB — Two Moab women (like the two daughers of LOT) found dead in the La Sal Mountains were each shot multiple times and their bodies found in a creek.
That and other new information regarding the killings of Kylen “Ky” Carrol Schulte, 24, and Crystal Michelle Turner (Beck), 38, were revealed this week in a pair of search warrant affidavits filed in 7th District Court.
The women were last seen on Friday, Aug. 13 about 8:30 p.m. leaving Woody’s Tavern on Main Street in Moab. They drove to a campsite in the La Sal Mountains.
At some point during the weekend, friends say the women called to inform others that they were moving to a different campsite because of a “weirdo” nearby who was “freaking them out.”
“Investigators were informed that Kylen had mentioned to her friends that if something happened to them, that they were murdered. Kylen had continued by saying there was a ‘creepy man’ around their camp and they had been intimidated by him,” the warrants state.
Schulte and Turner were reported missing on Aug. 16 after failing to show up for work.
On Aug. 18, Schulte’s boss and friend Cindy Sue Hunter, who went looking for the missing women, found their bodies at their campsite in the South Mesa area and called police. Officers noted in the warrants that they found the women’s car, tent, a makeshift rabbit shelter, and items common for long-term camping at the site.
“In a nearby creek, two female bodies were found. The bodies were identified as belonging to Crystal Turner and her wife Kylen Schulte. Both women were undressed from the waist down,” the warrants state. “Investigators located multiple gunshot wounds on both bodies. The wounds were located on the backs, sides, and/or chests of the victims.”
Grand County Sheriff’s Capt. Shan Hackwell said Thursday he did not know if the women were sexually assaulted. Hackwell said detectives are still waiting for final reports and tests to be returned from the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner and State Crime Lab.
No arrests have been made and no suspects named. Multiple agencies, including the FBI and the State Bureau of Investigation, are assisting with the case.
While the Grand County Sheriff’s Office has kept details of the investigation close to the vest, the new warrants give indications of some of the evidence that has been collected.
When I point these things out to you, I am not implying that the people involved deliberately set things up. We will never know if the humans involved are even aware of the significance of what they do. We do know that the spirits behind every event know full well the implications and the effect they have in the spirit realm. Again, EVERYTHING originates in the spirit.
Whether the people involved or the people affected understand what is going on or not, doesn’t matter.
Let us take a look at the meaning of the names Moran and Moab.

Moran (Irish: Ó Móráin) is a modern Irish surname and derived from membership of a medieval dynastic sept. The name means a descendant of Mórán. “Mor” in Gaelic translates as big or great and “an” as the prefix the. Morans were a respected sept of the Uí Fiachrach dynasty in the western counties of Mayo and Sligo. In Ireland, where the name descended from the Gaelic, it is generally pronounced /ˈmɒrən/ MORR-ən[1] anglicised approximate of the Irish pronunciation.
Elsewhere, pronunciation follows the French surname, Morant, anglicised to /məˈræn/ mə-RAN or /mɒˈræn/ morr-AN.[1][2] There are many different crests of Moran, many bearing three stars and the motto Lucent in tenebris, Latin for “They shine in darkness”.[3] Another crest, attributed to the family of a Moran family living in Ballina, County Mayo, is described thus: “Azure on a mount proper, two lions combatant or, holding between them a flagstaff also proper, therefrom a flag argent; a crest: out of amural crown, a demi-saracen, head in profile, all proper; and a motto: ‘Fides non timet.'” (This motto translates as “Faith does not fear” or “The Faithful Fear Not”.)[4][5][6]

Once I studied the various possible origins and meanings of the name MORAN, I tend to believe the most relevant is the French origin. I found the Hebrew explanation ludicrous. It made no sense. But the French one actually is based on a word Morant. Once I established that in my mind. I looked at the Motto and the Crest.
Bearing three stars and the motto Lucent in tenebris, Latin for “They shine in darkness”
I find that very relevant to this Gabby case. We know that Brian appears to be living out a story he was reading about a serial killer who kills THREE women in a remote area. I believe that he killed Crystal and Kylan, as well as Gabby. And looking at the motto and the crest… THEY SHINE in the darkness. By all accounts, Gabby and Crystal and Kylan were “lights in the dark world” lovely souls who touched everyone’s life. So, MORAN’s motto seems very apropos don’t you agree?
- Meaning
- Who Is Your Father?, Water Of A Father
- Etymology
- From (1) מי (mi), who, or מי (may), “water of …”, and (2) the noun אב (‘ab), father.
The name Moab in the Bible
Moab is the incestuous son of Lot with his oldest daughter (Genesis 19:37). Moab is the father of the Moabites. A famous Moabite is Ruth, the ancestor of Jesus. In similar fashion Lot’s youngest daughter bore Ben-ammi, the father of the Ammonites.
The proper ethnonym מואבי occurs only in Deuteronomy 23:3 and 1 Chronicles 11:46. The proper plural, מואבים (Moabites) occurs only in Deuteronomy 2:29. Nehemiah 13:1 and Ezra 9:1 speak of a מאבי or Mabbite, and this form’s plural, מאבים (Mabbites), uniquely occurs in Deuteronomy 2:11.
Etymology and meaning of the name Moab
The etymology and original meaning of the name Moab is unknown. The word moab is foreign to Hebrew and, reports BDB Theological Dictionary, Moab is known in other ancient languages as Ma’aba, Ma’bu, Mu’aba, etc.
However, to a creative Hebrew audience, the name may have sounded like a compilation of two elements: the interrogative particleמה(me), what or מי (mi), who:
מה מי
The interrogative pronoun מה(ma) asks “what?” Its counterpartמי (mi) asks “who?” The latter pronoun is spelled the same as the construct-plural form ofמים(mayim) and thus also means “waters of ...”. Its opposite, namely dry land, signifies certainty and mental footing. A similar particle מו(mo) combines with the usual prefixes to form poetic equivalents of these particles.
The second part of the name Moab may remind of the very common word אב (‘ab), meaning father:
אב
The noun אב (‘ab) means father, but describes primarily a social relationship rather than a biological one. That social fatherhood was the defining quality of the community’s alpha male, the one around whom all economy revolved and from whom emanated all instructions by which the ‘sons’ (בן, ben) operated. It’s unclear where this wordאב (‘ab) comes from but the verb abu means to decide.
Thus the name Moab would carry the meaning of Who’s Your Daddy? or What’s Your Father? a rhetorical question to which the story may easily give rise.
Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names takes a different approach and goes with the word מי (may), meaning water:
מים
The noun מים (mayim) means water, or rather: waters. It’s a plural word for which there is no singular form. But if there were it would be מי (mi), which is identical to the common particle of inquisition, מי (mi), meaning “who?“. In constructions (waters of such and such), the final ם(m) drops off, and what remains is identical to our particle of inquisition.
Water represents the great unknown from which the dry land (ארץ,‘eres) of the known emerges. The ancients knew that vapor rises from the seas and becomes rain and compared this cycle to that of cognition (Isaiah 55:10-1). The words for rain and teacher are the same: מורה (moreh), which are closely related to the familiar wordTorah.
Thus Jones reads Water Of A Father, and explains this to mean seed or progeny. The problem here is that semen is never referred to as a father’s water

Where Did the Name Moab Come From?
The name Moab is a Biblical name for a land just short of the Promised Land. The Moabites were historically regarded as the perpetual enemy of the Israelites,“God’s Chosen People.” Physically, the region was a green, verdant valley in the middle of a serious desert; an emerald in the sand, so to speak. Because of those similarities, our little town was dubbed Moab by Mormon settlers in the 1800’s.
Here are the 137 Bible verses in which Moab was mentioned.

Moab… Sin, Pride and Salvation
A little history of Moab
A close study of this map will show you most of the places mentioned in Isaiah 15 and 16. Click for close-up |
Moab was born to Lot’s oldest daughteras a direct result of the influence of Sodom and Gomorrah over his family.Moab was conceived shortly after they escaped from the judgment of God upon those cities. They fled to a small town in the valley, Zoar, but at a distance from the fire and brimstone, and then, for some reason, went to live in a cave in the mountains. The mother was killed, when she looked back at all they were leaving behind, and the two daughters were left.
There is a great, but disturbing, lesson to be learned from this account: You cannot choose to live in the middle of perversion without having it affect your life. Not only was homosexuality an acceptable sexual alternative in Sodom, but we can be sure, because of its presence, that there were many other perversions, as well. Perhaps as Lot’s daughters mixed and mingled with the Sodomite girls, they heard many stories of incestuous relationships. We can then understand the source of their evil plan to make their father drunk and then each conceive a child by him. We might also see why Lot allowed himself to drink, but in his stupor, he was not aware of having a part in incest (Ge.19:17-38).
This was the background of the Moabites. The clan grew and multiplied and became an idolatrous nation on the eastern side of the Dead Sea, which is today, Jordan. Edom (from the offspring of Esau) was to the south and to the north was the territory of the descendants of Moab’s younger brother, Ammon. Sharing the northern border on the west was the Israelite tribe of Reuben.
It was the king of Moab, who hired Balaam to curse the children of Israel(Numbers, chapters 22-25) and there is where Moses overlooked the Promised Land and then died (Dt.34:5). The Moabites were enemies of Israel and they were refused entrance among the congregation of Israel forever(Dt.23:3). Yet a Moabite woman, Ruth, became the great-grandmother of King David, a wonderful story of love, acceptance and the grace of God.
Chapter 15
Moabite lament
Click for large view. Notice places visible from Nebo. |
Isaiah, aware of all this history, brings to us the oracle concerning Moab. The oracle, remember, is a burden, a heavy prophecy concerning its sad future, which Isaiah sees in his vision as already having taken place. Both the Assyrian and the Babylonian empires play a part in its ruin. The names mentioned were major cities, holy places and mountains. Ar is the capital city and Kir is another large city (v.1). All the other cities, Dibon, Medebah, Heshbon, Jahaz and Elealeh were taken over by the 2 ½ tribes of Israel that stayed on the eastern side of the Jordan River. Apparently now they were back in Moab’s hands, but perhaps they are especially mentioned to show that all their conquests over Israel were to no avail. Nebo is the high mountain, from which Moses surveyed the Promised Land, before he died (v.2-4).
The peculiar sound of lament was a howl… a prolonged, unnatural shriek. In the manner of mourning of the ancient middle-east, with head and beard shaved and clothed in sackcloth, the cries could be heard from the high places, even from Mt. Nebo, in the surrounding towns. The beard of the ancient men was a matter of great pride, and so the depth of grief was shown especially by shaving the beard (see, for instance 2 Sam.10:5). Nebo was the site, where the Moabites worshipped their principal god, Chemosh.“Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh” (Jer.48:13; see all of Jeremiah 48, as a parallel account of the destruction of Moab.) They wept, then, because their religion had failed them and their spirit, as well as their heads and faces, had become bare. Everywhere, the entire population grieved; Moab had been devastated.
Isaiah cries
The prophecy is a burden and the prophet cries, as he watches the people, young and old, fleeing on the highways, leaving all that they know, their homeland and their homes behind. When judgment falls, even when it falls on an enemy, it causes no joy to the one, who lives close enough to the heart of God to hear His voice (v.5; Jeremiah also grieves for Moab… Jer.48:31). The fugitives are running far to the south to Zoar, on the southern border, where Lot fled from Sodom and Gommorah. Finding no safety there, they climb onto the mountains (As Lot? Horoniam is near caves.).
The attack came from the north and the only escape was to the south. Either by the effects of war or by natural causes, farther north there was a dearth covering the landscape (v.6), and the people abandoned it, carrying with them all that they were able (v.7). So from this area of Nimrim, the people also fled to the south to the Valley of Willows or the Arabian Valley. Earlier we read of northern cities, but now Eglaim was south of the capital of Ar and Beer-elim is on the eastern border: “The cry of distress has gone around the territory of Moab” (v.8), from north to south, entering into every part of this mountainous land. Beer-elim may have been the well that Israel sang to (Num.21:14-18).
The Arnon River carried the blood of multiplied Moabite warriors, slain in battle. God will add to the calamities of war in His judgment upon Moab. We read in the Old Testament of wild animals, which abounded in the Middle East in those times and were one of the great causes for fear among the people. Now, those who left the cities, targeted by the invaders, to find refuge in the country, were attacked by beasts (v.9).
Chapter 16
Salvation is offered
God gave His word and it went out and spread over the lands. Is there a God-fearing soul in Moab like Ruth or as in Jericho, is there one, who trembles at the word of the Lord? Then let that one flee the land of destruction to the God of Israel for salvation.Following the eye of the prophet, they can escape the worst of the devastation and know in what direction they can proceed. He is merciful and mighty to save. He has exalted His mercy over all His works.
This word came to the Moabite refugees, who had arrived south of their land into Edom (v.1 This also is part of modern-day Jordan.). To this day, the word of salvation reaches to those in this condition, far from their familiar settings and people, abandoned by their idols. The Moabites had come near to the influence of the Hebrews and the God of Creation. He is the God, who is approached by a sacrificial lamb. They were to send their tribute lamb from Sela or Petra, the amazing fortress carved out of rock, founded by the Edomites, at the southern end of the valley of the Dead Sea. It was re-discovered in 1812 by a Swiss explorer.
Sela or Petra… city carved from the rock. |
Here, the surviving Moabites had found shelter in the rock and from here they were to take the next step; they are to reach out to the God, who is worshipped by the Jews on Mount Zion (v.2). What a wonderful book is this “Gospel” of Isaiah! The Moabites were invited to be grafted into the trunk of the prophets and patriarchs, in order to find continued protection and help in their time of exile. They were to obey the Word and escape the judgments written in the book!
Here we get a different picture from the mourning populace of the last chapter. In this one, we hear a desperate cry for help. You have probably observed the little bird, which has fallen from its nest. It is an object of compassion in its defenseless, flightless state. It seems hopeless; some predator will surely find and kill it. “The daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon. Give us advice, make a decision; cast your shadow like night at high noon; hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive” (v.2, 3).This is what we now see and hear. They are ready to cross the river and are begging for counsel. “We need a hiding place; please, do not turn your back on us. We are ready to listen; show us the way of salvation!”
There can be no doubt now that Isaiah has transferred us again into the reign of Messiah, using the Moabites in their plight, as examples of those, who fly to Christ for salvation. Like Ruth, they cry for a new country and a new allegiance to the throne of lovingkindness! (v.4-5) They submit to the faithful Judge from David’s tentwho brings a millennium of justice and righteousness.
Pride prevents salvation
The narrow passageway to Petra |
Ah, but on the other hand, we see stubborn pride, which will not submit in humble recognition of need. They will not change even at the cost of their lives and their nation. No one and nothing can break their arrogant independence. They choose destruction over salvation and if the destruction is eternal, then so is their pride. This, my friend, is the cause of the world’s woes and the reason behind destruction and condemnation.Salvation is at their right hand. The Rock is there to hide in and the sacrifice can be applied, but not without a humble submission to the King (v.6). “Therefore let Moab wail for Moab” and we are taken back to chapter 15 to watch more of the same wailing and grief(v.7). It is now on a higher level, because we have seen the escape, and know that all the mourning could be averted.
Now, Isaiah takes us to observe the lost produce of the land. Here is a land that, under the right stewardship, could be productive and enjoyable, but as we have now seen, pride is the great obstacle to that enjoyment. Lost opportunity in the face of great potential is a sad consequence for a proud refusal to bow, trust and partake. The vines are gone and so are the grapes and raisins that they produce (v.8).
Isaiah weeps and the heart of their Creator breaks(v.9). Oh tears, come freely and bathe our faces for the lost, who have strayed far from hope and home! See their pride, see their suffering, see their loss, and weep! What else can we do? Let Isaiah describe it: “Gladness and joy are taken away from the fruitful field; in the vineyards also there will be no cries of joy or jubilant shouting. No treader treads out wine in the presses, for I have made the shouting to cease” (v.10).
The jubilant shout of harvest fades and the mournful harp expresses the sadness of the heart of the prophet (v.11). No, there was no help for Moab in the proud state in which he presented himself, although he tarried long in prayer. There are two reasons for which he will not prevail: 1) He is coming to an idol that he has formed. He is worshipping his own god in his own way and that will not catch the ear of Him, who is worshipped in Spirit and in truth. 2) His devotion is only the reflection of a stubborn will that cannot be broken (v.12).
“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God… Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you” (Jam.4:3-10).
God fixed a short time before his prophetic word would come to pass. The Assyrian invader was at the door. It was time for him to come down upon northern Israel and Samaria. He would make an attempt against Judah without success, but Moab was doomed to all that was prophesied in these two chapters. Its glory would depart and its population would be depleted until a small, insignificant, weak nation would remain (v.14). The JFB commentary states: “The ruins of Elealeh, Heshbon, Medeba, Dibon, etc., still exist to confirm the inspiration of Scripture. The accurate particularity of specification of the places three thousand years ago, confirmed by modern research, is a strong testimony to the truth of prophecy.”

We can all see that the Israel of today is not serving GOD. They follow after the teachings of men rather than the WORD of GOD. That is easy for us to see, but we cannot see that as a whole, the Christian People are no better and we have the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT available to us. The RESURRECTED SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST. Meaning, now, when Jesus has completed the work and paid the cost. We have all power at our fingertips and we are no better than the unbelieving Jews.
GOD is sending a warning. A last minute warning to ISRAEL and to the people here in this land. TURN FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS. Repent, get right with GOD. Come to him with a humble and contrite heart and HE WILL SAVE YOU.
