“So Let it be Written, So let it be done!”

One of my favorite lines from arguably the best movie ever made, Cecil B DeMille’s Ten Commandments.
When the Holy season arrives each year, watching this movie is one thing I love to do to celebrate and remember. The Ten Commandments is a beautifully made, marvelously acted, magnificent production with a very important message.
In a speech he gave at the front of the movie, DeMille himself declared his intentions in making the film. (a film for which he accepted absolutely zero income) DeMille did not receive any personal profit from The Ten Commandments, which was the seventieth and last picture he directed before his death on January 21, 1959. Jewish Commentary MEIR Y. SOLOVEICHIK / MAR. 15, 2017
“Ladies and gentlemen, this may seem an unusual procedure, speaking to you before the picture begins,” DeMille said. “The theme of this picture is whether men ought to be ruled by God’s law or whether they are to be ruled by the whims of a dictator like Rameses. Are men the property of the state, or are they free souls under God? The same battle continues throughout the world today.” Ten Commandments 1956 – INTRO.flv
Update 2/22/20 WOW, see the movie the 10 Commandments and the story from the Word of GOD come to life in the following video of archeological, history discovery/uncovering! View for yourself the great city of Seti built on the backs of Hebrew slaves, and see how RAMESSES took the glory for himself.
A Timeline of the Hebrews: 1250 BC: the Hebrews move from Egypt to Palestine (Moses legend)
Seti I Menmaatre Seti I (or Sethos I in Greek) was a pharaoh of the New Kingdom Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt, the son of Ramesses I and Sitre, and the father of Ramesses II. As with all dates in Ancient Egypt, the actual dates of his reign are unclear, and various historians claim different dates, with 1294 BC to 1279 BC[4] and 1290 BC to 1279 BC[5] being the most commonly used by scholars today. The name ‘Seti’ means “of Set”, which indicates that he was consecrated to the god Set (also termed “Sutekh” or “Seth”)… Around Year 9 of his reign, Seti appointed his son Ramesses II as the crown prince and his chosen successor.
“For the British and American architects of liberty, God was the supreme power. . . . For the French and Russian ideologists, ultimate value lay in the state. . . when human beings arrogate supreme power to themselves, politics loses its sole secure defense of freedom. . . . Societies that exile God lead to the eclipse of man. …much—perhaps all—turns on how a society answers the question: who is the ultimate sovereign, God or man?” Source
In the amazing and precious historic recounting of the deliverance of the Hebrew people, we learn that the Ten Commandments were written by the finger of GOD himself, the Creator of the Universe. Written in STONE by the FINGER OF GOD! How much more permanent can you get? Throughout history whenever someone wanted something to last forever they would write it in stone, thus conveying its permanence. TO LAST FOREVER!
Many mistakenly believe that this was the first time man learned of God’s Commandments. Wrong! As we clearly can see in the following scripture reference, the laws and commandments of God preceded Moses by many generations.
Genesis 26:1-5
“And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
We also know that God does not change. He is constant. He is the same forever. His Words are true. He does not lie.
Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not;”
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”
God’s Laws and Commandments were the same in the Garden of Eden as they were in the days of Moses, all throughout history to this day.
People are very quick to condemn the Ten Commandments and to call God a heartless dictator because they do not understand the Commandments of GOD. Unless you understand the Laws of God you cannot understand GOD and how much He loves you. God is not looking for slaves to blindly worship him and feed his ego. His Laws/Commandments are all about how much HE loves YOU. His Commandments are about YOUR FREEDOM. Take the time to watch this video, to really understand what the Ten Commandments are about and their VITAL role in Society.
Foolish Christians have convinced themselves that Christ did away with the Law and we are no longer subject to the Commandments. This is a lie straight out of the pit of HELL.
It is the same lie that the Serpent used on Eve in the Garden and Satan uses on the masses today. YOU are GOD. There are no laws, there is no sin. You are free to do as you please.
The belief that Christ has removed the law and freed us to do as we please, appeals to man’s base nature. “Self” is man’s greatest downfall. “Do What Thou Wilt is the whole of the law” resonates so pleasurably with the selfish nature.
I have actually heard people, who claim to be followers of Christ, say that Jesus knows that they cannot help themselves. That Jesus covers their sin, so they are free to continue living in sin, doing as they have always done, they are covered by His blood. Grace covers all their sin.
ABSURD! Can anyone truly believe that the reason He stepped down from heaven, took on flesh to be rejected, tortured and put to death so that you can go on living in your sin, wallowing in your filth? Seriously?
No beloved. Because of His amazing love for us, He paid the horrible price, so that we could be empowered! It is true that man without God cannot rise above the sin nature. He is helpless. BUT, because Jesus paid the price and removed the wall of the division, the Holy Spirit has come. GOD’s very own spirit, can live inside of you. The same Power that raised Jesus from the dead, empowers you to stand. Why would God command us to stand, if we were not able?
You had better wake up and realize that we are in a SPIRITUAL WAR! The devil is doing all that he can to erase God and any memory of Him from this world. Satan knows his time is short, for we are living in the last days. Don’t be a fool, Satan cannot defeat GOD. God created him. God is in control and knows exactly what is happening.
Deut 6:13 “Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve, and thou shalt cleave to him, and by his name thou shalt swear.”
God’s promise to HIS people throughout history has always come with a condition. Even in the Garden, their standing was dependent upon their obedience. This has been reiterated throughout the generations.
Rabbi Mordechai Kraft – Secrets of the Ten Commandments
Exodus 15:26
“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
The Bible tells us that anyone who continues in their sin and does not keep God’s Commandments does not even know God.
1Cor7:19 “Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.”
1John 2:3 “And hereby we do know that we know him if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
1John 2:4 “He that saith I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him.”
1John 3:6 “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.”
1John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
Rev12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Rev14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
Rev12:22 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
You can see from that small sampling there are many references to obeying Gods Commandments all through the Bible from beginning to end. There are many, many more references, check it out for yourself. Search out Commandments, Laws, Statutes, and Obedience. You will be amazed.
As I said, God actually carved them in stone with His own finger, yet there are those who will take a few small references, out of context and create an entire doctrine that states the Jesus has freed us from the commandments.
Why would we want to be free from God’s Law? He loves us and never does anything to harm us. His Laws were created for our protection, to establish safe boundaries. Learn more here: “Ancient Boundary Stones”.
God’s Laws firmly establish that we are under the protection and provision of a loving and benevolent God and not the property of the state or slaves to a maniacal tyrant. That we are born into this world with purpose and value and innate rights given to us by our creator.
The main reason that people fight so hard to deny the existence of GOD, is because they know that once they admit there is a God, then they have to face the fact that He has the right, as our creator, to establish the rules/laws that govern us.
What they miss altogether is the astounding truth that once they acknowledge that there is a God and get to know Him, their real life begins. Suddenly they will understand their true selves, discover their purpose and learn their great value. Life makes sense.
So the question we all must answer is “Who is the ultimate sovereign, God or man?
