Feminism has been the word for a long time now. I have never had any desire to be part of the feminist movement. I find it offensive. Yes, the males of our species have for the most part dropped the ball and took advantage of their greater strengths. BUT not ALL men are selfish, brutish jerks. I don’t believe that the issues between the sexes can possibly be overcome by mobs of women becoming exactly like the men they hate with such extreme aversion.
Hatred of men is not an answer. To anything. Men are just as important to life on Earth as women. The are made completely different than women. Any woman who thinks that she is the same as a man is a fool. Men are inherently physically stronger; their minds were created to work completely differently than ours. Emotionally they function completely differently than we do, it is not that they do not feel emotions…they just process them differently. When we live our lives according to GOD’s original plan, our differences make complete sense. The roles that we were created to fill require the differences.
I know that in our Postmodern society, traditional male and female roles is a forbidden topic, much to our impairment.
There are organized forces working very hard to completely change our world, our lives, our way of thinking and perceiving things, and our understanding of God. They are doing a bang up job.
CHANGE, EVERYTHING IS CHANGING at a rate so raped that it is imperceptible, at least to the younger generations. Everyone over 65 has no problem recognizing what is happening
As a society, we are losing touch with reality, have no understanding of TRUTH, and have become desensitized to what is evil.
In my younger days, NO ONE would condone putting up a NAKED statue.
45-foot tall nude woman statue erected in San Francisco plaza for ‘one-of-a kind liquid light show’

A towering 45-foot statue of a naked woman will be officially unveiled on Thursday in San Francisco.
The work, “R-Evolution,” is meant to symbolize female empowerment and strength, and will stand for six months in front of the city’s Ferry Building.
“This sculpture is about being seen,” artist Marco Cochrane said in a March interview with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks agency. “Women’s presence in public art is rare. When they are depicted, it is often through outdated or passive narratives. R-Evolution challenges that. She stands strong, aware, and grounded—calling for a world where all people can walk freely and without fear.”
(Or SHAME! I know that in this modern world shame is a dirty word. But, that is because our values have all disappeared. Today’s society has no concept of modesty. They reject God’s laws and rebell against all laws and boundaries seeing them as restrictions on their rights! Exposing your body in public is a shameful act and promotes promiscuity and sexual violence. Displaying naked statues in public places robs children of their innocence.)
Old English scamu, sceomu “painful feeling of guilt or disgrace; confusion caused by shame; state of being in disgrace; dishonor, insult, loss of esteem or reputation; shameful circumstance, what brings disgrace; modesty,” from Proto-Germanic *skamo (source also of Old Saxon skama, Old Norse skömm, Swedish skam, Old Frisian scome, Dutch schaamte, Old High German scama, German Scham), which is of unknown etymology. The best guess is that this is from PIE *skem-, from *kem- “to cover” (covering oneself being a common expression of shame). It is attested by c. 1300 as “modesty, shyness, regard for propriety or decency;” by 1580s as “thing or person to be ashamed of.” To put (someone or something) to shame “inflict disgrace or dishonor upon” is mid-13c. Shame culture attested by 1947. The interjection for shame! “you should be ashamed” is by c. 1300.Also in Middle English “nakedness, private parts, the genitals,” as in the Wycliffite Bible’s shameful thingis for Latin verecundiora. and shamfast membris for the male genitalia.Until modern times English had a productive duplicate form in shand. An Old Norse word for it was kinnroði, literally “cheek-redness,” hence, “blush of shame.” Greek distinguished shame in the bad sense of “disgrace, dishonor” (aiskhynē) from shame in the good sense of “modesty, bashfulness” (aidos).
shame(v.)
Middle English shamen, from Old English scamian “be ashamed, blush, feel shame;” by late Old English also transitive, “cause shame,” from the root of shame (n.). Compare Old Saxon scamian, Dutch schamen, Old High German scamen, Danish skamme, Gothic skaman, German schämen sich. The meaning “make ashamed, cover with reproach or indignity” is by 1520s. Related: Shamed; shaming. “R-Evolution,” which has previously appeared in Las Vegas, Petaluma, and at the Burning Man festival, appears to breathe for one hour a day and glows at night.
To further amp up the theatrics for the statue’s unveiling, a Thursday launch event will feature what organizers say is a “one-of-a-kind liquid light show,” from Mad Alchemy, a group that does psychedelic light projections at art and music events.
And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
2 Samuel 6:20
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!Question:
I’m studying to teach my children about the bible and creation but I can’t seem to get past Genesis 2!
In Genesis 2 it says that Adam and Eve were both originally naked, “but they were not ashamed.” After they ate of the Tree of Knowledge, we are told that “the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked.”
Here is my question: Was the act of being naked a sinful thing? Why would G‑d have allowed them to walk around naked to start with if it was sinful? And if it was originally fine, how did their disobedience cause their nakedness to not be so good?
What am I missing?
Answer:
Your perceptive question is addressed by almost all the biblical commentaries… On the second verse you quote, “Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realized that they were naked,” Rashi, the primary commentator on the Torah points out, “even a blind person knows when he is naked.” So what was it that they realized here?
Little children are notorious for trying to shed their clothes and run around naked. This is done with total innocence; the two-year-old does not see any difference between his face, his knees, and the parts of his body which we adults insist that he cover. Only adults feel that certain parts of the body must be covered. Why? Because those are connected with physical lust and passions, and should not be exposed.
Prior to their sin, Adam and Eve knew good from bad, right from wrong, but they had not internalized an evil inclination. So they could choose to do right and wrong, and were held responsible for their choices, but the urge to do evil did not come from within. This urge was represented by the serpent—the external tempter. Since the evil did not reside within them, they were “naturally” good, and their nakedness was innocent and in no way sinful. They saw no difference between a hand, whose purpose was to give charity and to do good deeds, a mouth with which one praises G‑d and says kind words to others, and the parts of the body which are used to “be fruitful and multiply.” With every organ they could fulfill the will of G‑d or vice versa, so no organ was shameful, nor did anything need to be covered.
When they ate of the Tree of Knowledge, the evil inclination became a part of them. No longer did they need an external tempter to incite them to sin—now, that tempter resided within their psyches. And specifically, sexual passion – a passion which is much stronger than the desire to give charity or praise G‑d, a passion which is much more encompassing and has the potential to be seriously misused – became a part of them as well.
Hence the abovementioned verse. “The eyes of both of them were opened” – they became aware of physical lust “and they realized that they were naked” – and now it was inappropriate for them to be unclothed.
Once Adam and Eve sinned all who came after them are born with the inclination to sin. We are slaves to sin and death. THAT is what we are delivered from by BLOOD OF JESUS.
Children are already sinful from birth. Their natural inclination is always self centered. However, God provides them with innocence regarding sex until a certain age. UNLESS, they are exposed to sexual ideas or behaviors before their time. It is the job of parents to protect young children from evil influences and exposure to sexual images, ideas or behaviors.
NAKEDNESS is a sign of REBELLION.

The statue has had a long journey to get to the San Francisco waterfront.
Similar concerns stopped a plan to feature the statue in San Francisco’s Union Square earlier this year.
The installation in front of the Ferry Building is a collaboration between the artist, the Building 180 creative agency, the Sijbrandij Foundation, and Illuminate, a public arts group known for supporting projects like the famous “Bay Lights” installation on the Bay Bridge.

Petaluma sculptor’s giant artwork rises in San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza
The unveiling of Marco Cochrane’s R-Evolution in San Francisco has led to a mirror image of Petaluma’s “bathtub art” debate, as locals from one city reject the artwork from another.

Commissioned seven years ago by Petaluma’s all-volunteer Public Art Committee, and paid for solely with monies from a special commercial developers fund set aside for public art, “Fine Balance” has been the focus of negative social media chatter since it was initially proposed for downtown Petaluma’s Water Street. While its move to the tiny riverside park in the Warehouse District quieted much of the opposition, a few stalwart naysayers have continued to question the project, occasionally challenging the tubs’ worthiness of even being called art

“Oh my God! There she is! She’s so beautiful!”
Just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, as a dozen art-loving Petaluma residents stepped through the historic stone doorway of the San Francisco Ferry Terminal, an ornately costumed Karicia Aventura exclaimed aloud at his first view of Marco Cochrane’s towering sculpture R-Evolution, standing in the setting sun across the street in the center of Embarcadero Plaza.
“I can’t believe it. She’s the first thing you see when you step through those doors,” added writer-performer Christopher Linnell, his voice rising above a chorus of gasps and cheers from his delighted fellow travelers.
Having just disembarked from the ferry, which brought them across the Bay following a trip to Marin on the SMART train, the group made its way across the busy Embarcadero, heading to where more than 200 people were already partying to welcome the statue to San Francisco.
The nearly 50-foot-tall statue, as placed, stands directly between two large buildings where Market Street meets the plaza, their architecture framing the artwork with symmetrical perfection.
“The sight of her, standing there, it just hits you right between the eyes,” said Linnell, leading the way toward the festivities. “What a fantastic spot for this piece.”
The celebration which the giddy Petalumans had crossed land and sea to attend was originally scheduled for Feb. 6 at San Francisco’s Union Square. Those plans were scuttled, however, when concerns arose that the 14-ton sculpture and its steel-plate anchoring might damage the plaza’s historic tiles. So a new plan was quickly devised and approved by the San Francisco Arts Commission, with Embarcadero Plaza selected as an alternative site for the eye-catching piece.
Built 10 years ago in Petaluma, R-Evolution – part of Cochrane’s three-sculpture Bliss Project – was originally unveiled at Burning Man in 2015. SInce then it has had brief residencies in Miami and Las Vegas. Current plans call for the work to remain in San Francisco for six months, with a possible six-month extension on the table. The statue has been fitted with thousands of glowing lights that will change colors after dark, and a special mechanism in the chest of the sculpture that will make her appear to breathe.

During opening remarks delivered at the feet of the enormous nude sculpture, Shannon Riley of Building 180 – a female-led art production agency based on Treasure Island – thanked the arts commission and the nonprofit Sijbrandij Foundation, which provided funding for the installation.
“Their belief in the power of public art, and their commitment to placing – wait for it – 100 large-scale sculptures across San Francisco and the Bay Area in the next three years, is not only bold, but it’s transformative,” said Riley. “This work, and this moment, would not be possible without them.”
Sytse Sijbrandij, chairman and director of the Sijbrandij Foundation, explained the purpose of projects like this.
“We’ve discovered that, of all the beautiful art made in the Bay Area, most of it is in storage, sitting somewhere in a container. But it should be here, in a public space, for everyone to enjoy,” he said, noting that the arts commission took “a little bit of a risk” in green-lighting an enormous public statue without clothes.
In fact the piece’s large-scale nudity has drawn hundreds of negative comments, along with an equal number of supportive remarks, on various San Francisco social media platforms – creating an interesting parallel between this installation by a Petaluma artist in San Francisco and the installation of Fine Balance by San Francisco artist Brian Goggin, which at the time drew negative remarks from Petalumans saying they didn’t want the artwork in their town.
San Francisco Arts Commissioner Debra Walker directly addressed the issue of R-Evolution’s nudity, stating that “Marco is inspired to create art to really lift us up, and he does that with this piece.”
“R-Evolution represents a catalyzing force for change,” she said, “embodying the need to transcend outdated perceptions of the female body, and celebrate it as a symbol of strength, beauty and empowerment.”
Cochrane, speaking briefly, introduced Deja Solis, the model with whom he worked to capture the body language for all three sculptures in the Bliss Project. Described as a singer, songwriter, dancer, model, humanitarian and farmer, Solis spent hours striking various poses as Cochran’s muse while sharing her own feelings about what such a project might mean to the world.
Old English blis, also bliðs “bliss, merriment, happiness, grace, favor,” from Proto-Germanic *blithsjo (source also of Old Saxon blidsea, blizza), from *blithiz “gentle, kind” (see blithe) + *-tjo noun suffix. This is not spiritual joy that comes from OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. That is why God said to “Test the spirits,Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. …

“I didn’t know her when I started working with her, but after hanging out with her four or five hours a day for years, we got to be really good friends, and that energy is in all the work,” Cochrane said. “That energy is in this piece.”
According to Solis, she didn’t at first realize that her body would be transformed into such massive works of art. The first sculptures that Cochrane created through their collaboration were two-foot-tall statues made out of clay.
Following the speeches – and an a cappella song by Solis that drew deafening cheers – the event turned into a dance party, eventually growing to a crowd of about 400.
“This is such a blast, and I’m feeling pretty good,” Cochrane said later on that evening. “My dad is here for this, which is really special. A lot of friends from Petaluma came out. I’m pretty happy.”
Pointing toward the statue across the plaza, now surrounded by dancing revelers, Cochrane admitted that after all the frustrations of the last several weeks, during which it wasn’t certain where the sculpture would go, R-Evolution has clearly found the right place.
“I think it’s awesome that she’s here,” he said. “And just wait until you see her breathing. Wait till you see her at night. The lighting is gorgeous and she looks absolutely epic.”
As thousands of tiny bubbles floated through the air, mingling with the scent of marijuana smoke and roasting meat from nearby food trucks, Kat Anderson, president of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission, added her own welcome to R-Evolution.
“She’s here in all her glory. Unapologetically present, in this beautiful public space in Embarcadero Plaza, at the intersection of commerce and creativity,” Anderson said. “This belongs to all of us.”

A 45-foot statue of a nude woman is the newest — and tallest — resident of San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza.
The artwork, titled “R-Evolution,” was unveiled with music, lights and performance art Thursday, courtesy of the public art nonprofit Illuminate. Designed to glow at night and appear to “breathe” via internal motors, the statue was meant to represent strength and compassion.
Instead, it’s sparked backlash, internet memes and questions about the city’s priorities.
Originally created for Burning Man in 2015 by sculptor Marco Cochrane, the stainless steel figure now stands outside the Ferry Building, casting a long (and anatomically detailed) shadow over a city where fewer and fewer people seem impressed by spectacle.
While some see the statue as empowering, many San Franciscans see it as another example of the city misreading the room.
Social media lit up after a video by influencer Collin Rugg went viral showing a cherry picker being awkwardly hoisted between the statue’s legs during installation. Commentators quickly had a field day.

“Nothing says ‘reviving downtown’ like a 45-foot naked lady getting rear-end surgery,” wrote one user. Another deadpanned, “This picture kind of embodies the spirit of San Francisco — head up a–.”
The statue was installed just blocks from areas dealing with visible homelessness, open-air drug use and boarded-up storefronts. While the art world might call that “juxtaposition,” many residents simply call it tone-deaf.
Bruce Lou, the Republican challenger to Nancy Pelosi in the last congressional election, was blunt.
“I don’t know where to begin about the misplaced priorities for the city of San Francisco,” Lou said. “They seem like they are focused on absolutely everything except the things that matter.”
Lou questioned Pelosi’s connection to the city, noting, “I’m not even sure Pelosi knows about the statue. She’s originally from Baltimore and spends almost all her time in D.C., so the city and her constituents aren’t on the top of her mind.”
John Dennis, the former San Francisco GOP chair and current CAGOP Chair of Chairs, offered an even sharper assessment.
“The city named after St. Francis is now dominated by the feminist, anti-male agenda. The results speak for themselves,” he said. “A giant, naked woman blocking the proud, iconic Ferry Building is a perfect metaphor for San Francisco these days.”
The backlash wasn’t limited to conservatives, however.
In a KQED commentary, “Nobody Asked for This,” arts editor Sarah Hotchkiss wrote, “As I gazed up at this monumental steel and mesh sculpture on Thursday, I felt embarrassed for the city of San Francisco. One of several problems with R-Evolution is that we are all the audience for this thing, and no one asked us if we wanted it.”

Her critique adds to a growing chorus of San Franciscans across the political spectrum questioning how and why this was made a civic priority.
According to the most recent point-in-time count from the city, over 8,300 people are experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
The city plans to spend nearly $690 million on housing and homelessness programs in the upcoming fiscal year. Encampments are still widespread in areas like the Tenderloin, SoMa and the Mission.
Violent crime dropped 14% citywide last year, and car break-ins have hit a 22-year low, a surprising development in a city where “smash-and-grab” once felt like a daily ritual.
But gun violence has ticked up 5%, and despite stepped-up law enforcement, public safety remains a top concern.
Vacant storefronts and empty streets downtown make even the most optimistic “revitalization” pitch feel a bit like performance art itself.
Drug enforcement is also up in 2025, with arrests and citations related to narcotics up nearly 40% compared to early 2024.
Still, critics argue that enforcement without addiction treatment or shelter options often just moves the problem around without solving it.
“R-Evolution” is expected to remain in place for at least six months and possibly up to a year.

Can a Christian be a nudist?
Many pagan cultures throughout history considered public nudity normative, especially Spartan, Greek, and Roman societies. In more recent years, public nudity has become more and more acceptable, with many groups promoting a “back-to-nature” philosophy and the supposed health benefits of taking off one’s clothes. Nudists, or naturists, form clubs, frequent clothing-free beaches, and engage in activities ranging from hiking to horseback riding au naturel.
Although the world’s standards may permit or even encourage nudity, the Bible has a different perspective. It is true that the first humans were created unclothed by God (Genesis 2:25). Adam and Eve were innocent in their nakedness, but after the fall everything changed. When they sinned, “the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked” (Genesis 3:7). Never before had they realized they were unclothed—the concepts of “clothed” and “unclothed” were meaningless to them. Sin affected their hearts and minds, creating vulnerability, guilt, and shame, and these things produced fear (verse 10). In their attempt to cover their spiritual shame, Adam and Eve intuitively covered their bodies. We should note that, when God took away their fig leaves—a sadly inadequate covering—He replaced them with something more permanent—animal skins (verse 21). Thus, God regarded clothing as appropriate and necessary in a fallen world. God wanted them to know that in order for their sins to be covered and for them to have peace…blood would have to be shed. This was a foreshadowing of God’s plan of salvation through the shed blood of the INNOCENT ADAM – JESUS CHRIST.
Nudity now has implications of sinfulness attached to it. With few exceptions, the Bible presents nakedness as shameful and degrading (Genesis 9:21; Exodus 20:26; 32:25; 2 Chronicles 28:19; Isaiah 47:3; Ezekiel 16:35-36; Luke 8:27; Revelation 3:17; 16:15; 17:16). The only passages in which nudity is free of shame are those that describe Eden’s idyllic setting or that deal with marital relations (Proverbs 5:18-19; Song of Solomon 4).
We still live in a fallen world, surrounded by lust, immorality, and perversion. The innocence of Eden is gone. Naturist philosophy ignores the results of the fall. Even in “asexual” contexts, public displays of nudity dishonor God by pretending an innocence that no longer exists. A Christian should definitely not be a nudist or participate in nudist activities.
