Archery has been given spiritual significance in many ways, including:
In the Bible
God is sometimes referred to as an archer who doesn’t miss, and some say that God calls people to his archery team to learn to hit his targets, such as his laws and commandments. The Bible also mentions two famous biblical archers: Ishmael, Abraham’s son who became a skilled archer in the desert, and Esau, whose twin brother Jacob benefited from Esau’s archery skills.
In Greek mythology
Apollo, the son of Zeus and Leto, is the Greek god of archery, and is also associated with music, dance, truth, prophecy, healing, and more.
In Japanese culture
The bow has deep historical and cultural significance for the Japanese people, and the practice of Kyudo, or the Way of the Bow, can symbolize personal growth, respect for others, and transcending limitations.
In general
Archery can symbolize skill, and the qualities it can help develop, such as precision, patience, and self-reliance, have appealed to people for thousands of years. Some say that approaching a shot with calm, confidence, and commitment can help improve accuracy.
In another sense the arrow is the ‘winged soul’ of the archer, who has been trapped in the confines of matter and duality. In yet another sense it is a ‘standing meditation’; when you shoot, you see the reflection of your mind, as in a mirror. The target is the mirror and you are releasing the ego.

The word Druid is actually a Celtic one, and means ‘wise one’ or ‘knowing one.’ Druis as they were sometimes referred to means ‘sorcerer.’ It is often linked with the word ‘oak’, since ‘dru’ means oak. It is thought that they possibly derived from this word, because oak trees are strong and stable, and oak groves were considered very religious places.
Not only were the Druids priests, but teachers, judges, propehts, doctors and magicians. They were the philosophers, and were often sought after for their knowledge and expertise. They were said to know the future, and to speak to the Gods. Their secret hymns and knowledge were not written down, but passed down word of mouth from Druid to Druid. They were the ultimate secret society of that time.
Druids believed in human sacrifice and divination of the sacrificed body. They also sacrificed animals to the Gods. Religious ceremonies and celebrations were very important to the people and had to be presided over by a Druid.

Owl Symbolism and Owl Meanings
The owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of learning, Athena and is even depicted on some Greco-Roman currency as a symbol of status, intelligence and of course, wealth.
Minerva, in Roman religion, the goddess of handicrafts, the professions, the arts, and, later, war; she was commonly identified with the Greek Athena. Minerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom and music, poetry, medicine, commerce, weaving, crafts, and magic.
The goddess of wisdom has appeared in nearly every society in a variety of different manifestations, including Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and military victory; Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and war; Tara, the Buddhist goddess of compassion who teaches the wisdom of non-attachment; and Inanna, an early Sumerian Goddess. Sophia, whose name in Greek means “wisdom,” is connected to the different incarnations of sacred female knowledge and to those goddesses listed above.
(“Weaving Spiders come not here.” This also applies to the worship of Minerva as the Goddess of weaving and the one who turned Arachne into a spider.)
Spider
Linked to treachery and death in many cultures, it is seen as a “trickster”, a “Spinner of Fate”, and an evil forcethat sucks the blood from its victims. In ancient goddess cultures and ancient Greek myths – the goddess Arachne was turned into a spider by her jealous rival Athena (aka MINERVA)

late 14c., “gaping void; empty, immeasurable space,” from Old French chaos (14c.) or directly from
Latin chaos, from Greek khaos “abyss, that which gapes wide open, that which is vast and empty” (from *khnwos, from PIE root *ghieh-“to yawn, gape, be wide open”).The meaning “utter
confusion“(c. 1600) is an extended sense from theological use of chaos in the Vulgate version of
“Genesis” (1530s in English) for “the void at the beginning of creation, the confused, formless,
elementary state of the universe.” The Greek for “disorder” was tarakhē, but the use of chaos here was rooted in Hesiod (“Theogony”), who describes khaos as the
primeval emptiness of the Universe, and in Ovid (“Metamorphoses”), who opposes Khaos to Kosmos,“the ordered Universe.”Sometimes it was personified as a god, begetter of
Erebus and Nyx (“Night”). Meaning “orderless confusion” in human affairs is from c. 1600. Chaos
theory in the modern mathematical sense is attested from c. 1977.
What is the meaning of the Masonic motto “Ordo Ab Chao”? (according to the Masons)
Of the many symbols and phrases of Freemasonry, a few mottoes are important enough to be prominently, and
sometimes publicly displayed on flags, seals, or regalia. The phrase “Ordo Ab Chao,” is the motto of the 33rd degree,
which can be found on the grand decorations of the Order of the Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, one of the
highest honors and roles which can be bestowed upon a Mason. It is also featured on other seals and flags
representing various Orders.
This phrase being depicted so prominently, particularly in relation to the 33rd degree, indicates a
tremendous importance to Freemasonry. Indeed, Ordo Ab Chao, translated to “Order from Chaos,” is
also associated with another latin phrase,Lux In Tenebris, which translates to “Light from Darkness.” Why is
the idea of Order from Chaos or Light from darkness so significant to Freemasonry? Let’s explore this question
together.
One theory about the origin and significance of this phrase has mostly to do with Masonic history in the United
States. In the early 1800s, there was some division and conflict between the Northern and Southern
jurisdictions of the Scottish Rite, in the US. According to this theory, when the Rite being practiced in the
North was found to be a fraud, and the conflict resolved in the restoration of the original Rite, this
was where the original use of the phrase emerged.
Perhaps the most dismissive theory, in this case the “Order from Chaos” was simply the order
restored from the chaos of the schism between jurisdictions, and all other meanings commonly attributed
to it are purely speculative. While it’s important not to rule out such an explanation simply because it’s only
historically interesting, it’s hard to believe that the motto would be considered so significant if it didn’t
have a deeper symbolic meaning. What are some other possible meanings?
The first clue to the more profound meaning and significance of this phrase is the origin of it’s correlate,Lux in
Tenebris. This phrase comes to us from the Latin translation of the Gospel of John, in which it is said
“The Light shone in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” While Ordo Ab
Chao can be traced to the early 19th century, this other phrase is obviously much older, and carries
similar meaning.
What is meant when we say to bring Light from darkness, or Order from chaos? Much as the operative
Masons of old took the rough stone of the natural world and hewed and smoothed it in such a way as to be fit for the
construction of elaborate and pristine structures such as cathedrals, so the speculative Masons of today apply
the same discipline, and even the metaphor of the builder’s tools, to draw forth Order from the
Chaos of their own lives and minds. Just as God is said to have made a Light to shine in the darkness which
comprehended it not, so are we to be as Lights of knowledge and integrity in the darkness and ignorance of the
world, even when it does not understand that Light.
On an even deeper level, what is this universe made of?There are many ways to
answer that, and one of them is that it is made of gradients of Order and Chaos. We
can see in history and in our own lives that these are not two separate things, but are
both a continuum, and a dynamic process of change. As Chaos ensues, old orders are
broken down to allow new ones to emerge.Like Ying and Yang, death and rebirth,
Order and Chaos follow from and give birth to one another, in an ever-renewing cycle
of creation and evolution. (Bear in mind, this is the teaching of false
religion.)
The phrase “Order From Chaos” is loosely based on the latin phrase, “Ordo Ab Chao”, translated as “Out
of Chaos, Comes Order”. This is often regarded as a means to impose totalitarian
control over society, first by creating chaos through various forms of subterfuge, then
using this as an excuse to institute order.
From what I have seen of “SCIENCE” they are seeking to literally take us back the
VOID that existed before God Created Everything we have known.

The Sacred Chaois a symbol used by Discordians to illustrate the interrelatedness of order and disorder.
Discordianism is a religionbased on the “holy book” Principia Discordia (OR How I Found Goddess and What I Did to Her When I Found Her). The book was written by Greg Hill and Kerry Wendell Thornley in 1963, under the pseudonyms Malaclypse the Younger and Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst. Discordianism is focused on the worshiping of Eris (Greek mythology), or Discordia (Roman mythology)—the Goddess of chaos, strife, and discord. Many classify it as a parody of religion, while others sincerely declare themselves as real Discordians. But what does Discordianism actually preach?
1. The Literal Meaning of Discordianism
Let’s take a look at the history of Discordianism and see what it is really about. If read literally,Principia Discordia is centered around the worshipping of the Goddess Eris according to Greek mythology, or Discordia according to Roman mythology. She’s the Goddess of chaos, strife, and discord, However, there are many instances where the Goddess is united with the Void as well, not just as a separate deity.Principia Discordia explicitly mentions the version of Greek mythology but still holds the idea that Eris and her sister Aneris are daughters of the Void, who were later given a brother—Spirituality. That’s what is stated in DOGMA III-History 32, “COSMOGONY” of Principia Discordia.
Aneris is younger than her sister, and she is referred to as the Goddess of order and non-being,while her sister Eris is the Goddess of disorder and being. The barren Aneris becomes jealous of her sister, who was born impregnated, and begins to make the existent things non-existent.This explains the cycle of life, and why life begins and then ends with death: “And to this day things come into existence and perish the same way”—is stated at the beginning of the book.
Zeus invites all deities to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, except Eris, as he knows that she will cause problems due to her nature. However, when Eris finds out about the wedding, she creates a golden apple with the word kallisti on it,which means “for the prettiest” or “to the most beautiful.”This apple starts a feud between three goddesses, until Paris awards the apple to Helen of Troy. Thus, Eris becomes the cause of the Trojan war. According to Discordians, Eris tossed the apple into the fray as payback against Zeus for not inviting her to the party.
The golden apple of Eris is considered the main symbol of Discordianism, and the event is dubbed “The original snub” in Principia Discordia. The character of Eris in Principia Discordia, however, is rather softer than the Greek version of the Goddess, who is portrayed mainly in a negative aspect, and positively only as the energy of chaotic creation. Although it may seem strange, it becomes clearer when we consider the fact that the entire religious system of Discordianism is based on the belief, worship, and glorification of this very deity. A saying from Principia Discordia tries to clear up this “fallacy:”
“One day Mal-2 consulted his Pineal Gland and asked Eris if she really created all of those terrible things. She told him that she always liked the Old Greeks, but that they cannot be trusted with historic matters. They are victims of indigestion, you know.”
(Principia Discordia, 1963)
2. The Metaphorical Meaning of Discordianism
Now, let’s take a look at how we can understand Discordianism fully through its metaphorical meaning. After proposing the worshipping of Discordia and presenting the story like it’s presented above, Principia Discordia outlines three main fundamental principles: The Aneristic principle(principle of order), The Eristic principle(principle of disorder), and the principle according to which both of the principles are mere illusions.Because of these principles, a real Discordian believes that there are no distinctions between disorder and the voidbecause the only difference between them is that one of them only refers to order.
Let’s analyze these principles. From a philosophical perspective, both order and disorder are man-made concepts and represent artificial divisions of chaos, which is a stage deeper than the stage of making distinctions. With our conception-making apparatus—our reason, we see reality through our ideas-about-reality, which culture gives us and instills in us.
Ideas-about-reality are mistakenly identified as reality itself, and as a result, inexperienced people are often confused by the fact that other people, especially other cultures, see reality in a different way. We necessarily look at the world through windowsthat have built-in filters—concepts.Different philosophies take and use different filters.Through the window, we see chaos, and we turn and refer to the points of our filter to understand such chaos. The order, therefore, is in the filter. This represents the Aneristic principle. (This is a lie, perpetuating the false teaching that there is no absolute truth. That everything is relative.)
Western philosophy has traditionally been concerned and occupied with comparing one filter to another, constantly changing the filters in the hope of finding the perfect one that will apply to all possible realities or searching for the absolute and universal truth. That is illusory, true Discordians would say. Some filters can be more applicable, more pragmatic, and more comprehensive. Others may be more beautiful, others may be more pleasant, etc., but none can be completely true.
Chaos is simply unrelated and irrelevant information viewed through some particular filter or grid. But, like “relation,” “no-relation” is a concept as well. The male, like the female, is an idea about sex. To say that male-ness is the “absence of female-ness,” or vice versa, is a matter of definition and metaphysically arbitrary. This artificial concept of no-relation is the Eristic Principle.
To summarize, truthis dependent on the definition that fits the filter that one is using at the given moment, and the real truth—the metaphysical reality—is completely irrelevant to filters. In this context, Eris becomes the true patron of chaotic creation:
“I am chaos. I am the substance from which your artists and scientists build rhythms. I am the spirit with which your children and clowns laugh in happy anarchy.I am chaos. I am alive, and I tell you that you are free.” (Principia Discordia, 1963)
Principia Discordia often hints that Discordianism was founded as a dialectic antithesis to the other religions that are based on order. Also, as stated in the beginning, many also consider Discordianism as a parody religion—one that mocks the beliefs of others. However, Discordians themselves do not agree with that point of view. Some of them accept and embrace it largely as a joke, while others take it as a philosophy. There are also some who literally worship Eris as a Goddess. Thus, Discordians reject the view of themselves as following a parody religion, labeling it as untrue.
3. Titles and Status Structure in Discordianism
According to Discordianism, “every man, woman, and child on planet Earth is a pope.” Principia Discordia contains an official papal card that can be reproduced and distributed freely to anyone. However, papacy is not gained through the possession of this card but rather informs the people that they are “true, confirmed and authorized priests” of Discordianism.
Operation Mindfuck (OM) is the name of an important practice of Discordianism. The concept is not found in the “holy book” of Discordianism, but was invented and developed by Kerry Thornley and Robert Anton Wilson in 1968 in The Illuminatus! Trilogy, where Eris plays the main role. One of the practices was that any Discordian can name a certain project “Golden Apple Seed Mission” indicating that any other Discordian is welcome to participate in the realization of the project and in its wider propagation. One of those projects is the project titled“Project Pan-Pontification.” It consists of distributing the cards for popes, appeasing all men, women, and children as “a Pope of Discord.”
Within Discordianism, there are five classes of saints who acted best and serve as examples for everyone. The highest-ranked class that makes up human beings is the second. The first class consists only of fictitious characters who can reach the idea of Discordianism’s perfection. An example of a second-class saint is the self-proclaimed Emperor Norton, the emperor of San Francisco, California, during the nineteenth century. Despite suffering from mental illness, he was worshiped by the citizens of San Francisco. He is adorned with the title of a saint because he lived his life according to the truth as he saw it, and expressed disrespect for reality as others saw it.
4. The Unseriousness of Discordianism – Is It a Joke?
From what has been written so far in this very brief overview of the system of this unusual religion, one can sense some eclectic features, which seem even comical. The comedy increases when we get to know the strict rule that Discordians have to respect all the time under any circumstances: “NO EATING HOT DOG BUNS!” and even more so when reading the book itself, which is full of humor, expressed through their dialectical form. However, it all makes sense when we consider the fact that a Discordian is never serious about anything, as is stated in Principia Discordia.
However, Discordians can argue that the act of labeling Discordianism a parody merely reinforces the message of Discordianism.Just because something is untrue and absurd does not make it without meaning. Also, even if a religion is humorous and its scriptures full of ludicrousness, that does not mean its followers are not serious about it.
Discordians themselves do not agree on the matter. Some embrace it largely as a joke, while others embrace Discordianism as a philosophy. Some literally worship Eris as a goddess, while others consider her merely a symbol of the messages of the religion. Source
We should all know who is the biggest JOKER/TRICKSTER/CLOWN of them all!! SATAN/THE ADVERSARY/THE DECIEVER/THE DEVIL HIMSELF
In the spirit of misrule, identified by the grinning masks in the corners, medieval floor tiles from the Derby Black Friary show a triumphant hunting hare mounted on a dog.
In England, the Lord of Misrule – known in Scotland as the Abbot of Unreason and in France as the Prince des Sots– was an officer appointed by lot during Christmastide to preside over the Feast of Fools. The Lord of Misrule was generally a peasant or sub-deacon appointed to be in charge of Christmas revelries, which often included drunkenness and wild partying.
The Catholic Church in England held a similar festival involving a boy bishop.[1] This custom was abolished by Henry VIII in 1541, restored by the Catholic Mary I and again abolished by Protestant Elizabeth I, though here and there it lingered on for some time longer.[2] In continental Europe, it was suppressed by the Council of Basel in 1431, but was revived in some places from time to time, even as late as the eighteenth century. In the Tudor period, the Lord of Misrule (sometimes called the Abbot of Misrule or the King of Misrule)[1] is mentioned a number of times by contemporary documents referring to revels both at court and among the ordinary people.[3][4][5]
While mostly known as a British holiday custom, some folklorists, such as James Frazer and Mikhail Bakhtin (who is said to have borrowed the novel idea from Frazer), have claimed that the appointment of a Lord of Misrule comes from a similar custom practised during the Roman celebration of Saturnalia.[6][7]In ancient Rome, from 17 to 23 December (in the Julian calendar), a man chosen to be a mock king was appointed for the feast of Saturnalia, in the guise of the Roman deity Saturn.[1][6] This hypothesis has been heavily criticized by William Warde Fowler and as such, the Christmas custom of the Lord of Misrule during the Christian era and the Saturnalian custom of antiquity may have completely separate origins;[6] the two separate customs, however, can be compared and contrasted.[6][8]Many of the customs regarding the Lord of Misrule have been incorporated into modern-day Carnival and Mardi Gras celebrations.[9]
History
Ancient Rom
On 1 January, AD 400,the bishop Asterius of Amasea[10] in Pontus (modern Amasya, Turkey) preached a sermon against the Feast of Calends (“this foolish and harmful delight”)[11]that describes the role of the mock king in Late Antiquity. The New Year’s feast included children arriving at each doorstep, exchanging their gifts for reward:[10][11]
This festival teaches even the little children, artless and simple, to be greedy, and accustoms them to go from house to house and to offer novel gifts, fruits covered with silver tinsel. For these they receive, in return, gifts double their value, and thus the tender minds of the young begin to be impressed with that which is commercial and sordid.
— Asterius, in “Oratio 4: Adversus Kalendarum Festum”[11]
It contrasted with the Christian celebration held, not by chance, on the adjoining day:
We celebrate the birth of Christ, since at this time God manifested himself in the flesh. We celebrate the Feast of Lights (Epiphany), since by the forgiveness of our sins we are led forth from the dark prison of our former life into a life of light and uprightness.
— Asterius, “Oratio 4”
Significantly, for Asterius the Christian feast was explicitly an entry from darkness into light, and although no conscious solar nature could have been expressed, it is certainly the renewed light at midwinter that was celebrated among Roman pagans, officially from the time ofAurelian, as the “festival of the birth of the Unconquered Sun”. Meanwhile, throughout the city of Amasea, although entry into the temples and holy places had been forbidden by the decree of Theodosius I (391), the festival of gift-giving when “all is noise and tumult” in “a rejoicing over the new year” with a kiss and the gift of a coin, went on all around, to the intense disgust and scorn of the bishop:
This is misnamed a feast, being full of annoyance; since going out-of-doors is burdensome, and staying within doors is not undisturbed. For the common vagrants and the jugglers of the stage, dividing themselves into squads and hordes, hang about every house. The gatesof public officials they besiege with especial persistence, actually shouting and clapping their hands until he that is beleaguered within, exhausted, throws out to them whatever money he has and even what is not his own. And these mendicants going from door to door follow one after another, and, until late in the evening, there is no relief from this nuisance. For crowd succeeds crowd, and shout, shout, and loss, loss.
Honest farmers coming into the city were likely to be jeered at, spanked[12] and robbed. Worse,
“Even our most excellent and guileless prophets, the unmistakable representatives of God, who when unhindered in their work are our faithful ministers, are treated with insolence.” For the soldiers, they spend all their wages in riot and loose women, see plays perhaps, “for they learn vulgarity and the practices of actors”.Their military discipline is relaxed and slackened. They make sport of the laws and the government of which they have been appointed guardians. For they ridicule and insult the august government. They mount a chariot as though upon a stage; they appoint pretended lictors and publicly act like buffoons. This is the nobler part of their ribaldry. But their other doings, how can one mention them? Does not the champion, the lion-hearted man, the man who when armed is the admiration of his friends and the terror of his foes, loose his tunic to his ankles, twine a girdle about his breast, use a woman’s sandal, put a roll of hair on his head in feminine fashion, and ply the distaff full of wool, and with that right hand which once bore the trophy, draw out the thread, and changing the tone of his voice utter his words in the sharper feminine treble?
In The Golden Bough, James Frazer cites a Greek martyrology which claims that during Saturnalia in Durostorum on the Danube (modern Silistra), Roman soldiers would choose a man from among themselves to be a ceremonial “temporary king” for thirty days. At the end of that term, this soldier was to cut his own throat on the altar of Saturn. The Christian Saint Dasius was supposedly chosen for this ritual, but refused to participate, and was martyred as a result. Frazer speculated that a similar ritual of human sacrifice could be the origin of the British Lord of Misrule.[13]
Tudor Englan
The Abbot of Unreasons by CruikshankIn the Tudor period, John Stow in his Survey of London, published in 1603, gives a description of the Lord of Misrule:[1]
[I]n the feaste of Christmas, there was in the kinges house, wheresoeuer hee was lodged, a Lord of Misrule, or Maister of merry disports, and the like had yee in the house of euery noble man, of honor, or good worshippe, were he spirituall or temporall. Amongst the which the Mayor of London, and eyther of the shiriffes had their seuerall Lordes of Misrule, euer contending without quarrell or offence, who should make the rarest pastimes to delight the Beholders. These Lordes beginning their rule on Alhollon Eue [Halloween], continued the same till the morrow after the Feast of the Purification, commonlie called Candlemas day: In all which space there were fine and subtle disguisinges, Maskes and Mummeries, with playing at Cardes for Counters, Nayles and pointes in euery house, more for pastimes then for gaine.
The Lord of Misrule is also mentioned by Philip Stubbes in his Anatomie of Abuses (1585), where he states that “the wilde heades of the parishe conventynge together, chuse them a grand Capitaine (of mischeefe) whom they ennobel with the title Lorde of Misrule.” He then describes how they dress colourfully, tie bells onto their legs, and “go to the churche (though the minister be at praier or preachyng) dauncying and swingyng their handercheefes.”

ALL OF THIS is nothing more or less than the Spirit of AntiChrist at work in the world, which is the WORK OF SATAN/THE ADVERSARY/The Devil himself.
The same SPIRIT of LIBERTY that Lives in FRANCE, where the OLYMPICS are happening right now in PARIS. As you know, PARIS is in CHAOS!!
SO, the Assassination on President TRUMP, and the PARIS Olympics are tied as well to the BOHEMIAN GROVE AND THE CREMATION OF CARE.
Now, let me say this…I have not yet come to a conclusion on President Donald Trump. There is much that might lead one to believe that he is on the wrong side. He is from an elite family, very wealthy and very attached to Apollo. On the other hand, while he was in the Whitehouse he did a lot of things that were very good for the USA. One of the best things he did was take us out of the UNITED NATIONS and the PARIS AGREEMENT. Which was immediately reversed when Biden/Obama came into the Whitehouse. The Elite APPEAR to HATE Donald TRUMP. They do not like ANYTHING for which he APPEARS to stand. However, that could be a ruse. We don’t know to what extent the elite will go to bring about their NEW WORLD ORDER.
“trumpet,” c. 1300, from Old French trompe“long, tube-like musical wind instrument” (12c.), cognate with Provençal tromba, Italian tromba, all probably from a Germanic source (compare Old High German trumpa, Old Norse trumba“trumpet”), of imitative origin.
“fabricate, devise,”1690s, from earlier trump “deceive, cheat” (1510s), from Middle English trumpen (late 14c.), from Old French tromper “to deceive,”a word of uncertain origin.Apparently from se tromper de“to mock,”from Old French tromper“to blow a trumpet.” Brachet explains this as “to play the horn, alluding to quacks and mountebanks, who attracted the public by blowing a horn, and then cheated them into buying ….” The Hindley Old French dictionary has baillier la trompe“blow the trumpet” as “act the fool,”and Donkin connects it rather totrombe “waterspout,” on the notion of turning (someone) around.Connection with triumph also has been proposed. Related: Trumped; trumping.Trumped up“false, concocted” is recorded by 1728.
late 14c., triumphe, “success in battle, conquest; state of being victorious, a successful enterprise or achievement;” also “spiritual victory” and “a procession in Roman antiquity celebrating victory in war,” from Old French triumphe (12c., Modern French triomphe) and directly from Latin triumphus “an achievement, a success; celebratory procession for a victorious general or admiral.”This is from Old Latin triumpus, probably via Etruscan from Greek thriambos “hymn to Dionysus,” a loan-word from a pre-Hellenic language. The highest military honor which a Roman commander could obtain, Old English had the word as triumpha. spacer AND WHERE, PRAY TELL, STANDS THE ORIGINAL ARCH OF TRIUMPH?? Using breathtaking animation, The Arch of Titus reconstructs the triumphal procession in which Titus marched the vast amount of booty taken from Jerusalem in 70 CE, including the golden menorah from the Temple, through the streets of Rome. A picture of the menorah being carried by Roman troops was carved on a monumental victory arch in Rome 2000 years ago, and since then it has been a symbol of degradation and oppression for the Jewish people. The film follows the dramatic events that turned the Arch of Titus into a symbol of freedom and liberty, and the captive menorah into the official symbol of the State of Israel.
Did you know you can actually climb to the TOP of the Arc De Triomphe? We find the famous arch in the heart of Paris, take the underground pedestrian tunnel to the base, and then climb the spiral staircase to the TOP! Come along with us as the kids share a bunch of fun facts about this HUGE arch.
New York City has historically looked to Europe for architectural inspiration, particularly in the Beaux-Arts and City Beautiful eras. The penchant for monumental arches has its roots in the great works of France,Italy, Greece, England and other countries. The arches in New York City form the gatewaysto numerous well-known landmarks in the city, but first we thought we would begin with the arches that are now lost. (EIGHT ARCHES IN NEW YORK, very interesting number)
We all know that ARCHES are GATEWAYS/PORTALS/DOORS… which are very significant in the Spiritual Realm. They are portals which are often used by demonic forces to move between the heavenly realms and earthly realms.
Everything changed after 9/11, a very sad day in New York City, 20 Years Ago Today.
When you could see the Twin Towers directly through the middle of the Washington Square Park Arch. The second picture is I believe early 2000s when the Arch was being restored.
Wandering Amir on Instagram wrote of this photo: “The Twin Towers served as a compass before the age of smart phones (or even cell phones). This was one of my favorite views of WTC, looking down fifth avenue through the arch at Washington Square Park.”
The former fountain is also visible, prior to its relocation by the Bloomberg Administration 22 feet east to “align” with the Arch at Fifth Avenue in 2009, as part of the park redesign. I am curious what that Parks Department sign says hanging from the Arch.
The Yeshiva University Museum and YU Center for Israel Studies celebrate the opening of the exhibition, “The Arch of Titus – from Jerusalem to Rome, and Back,” at the YU Museum. Built circa 82 CE, the Arch of Titus preserves sculptural reliefs that depict the sacred vessels of the Jerusalem Temple being carried into Rome by celebrating Roman soldiers, including a seven-branched Menorah, which, since 1949, has been the emblem of the State of Israel. The Arch of Titus has undergone many physical changes over the course of its long history. Featured in the exhibition is a life-size carved replica of the existing Spoils of Jerusalem relief panel from the interior passageway of the Arch, based on three-dimensional and polychrome scanning conducted under the direction of Yeshiva University’s Arch of Titus Project in 2012. (The replica and projected reconstruction have been developed and produced by VIZIN: The Institute for the Visualization of History together with Neathawk Designs, of Williamstown, MA.) Stretching from the Roman era to the present, The Arch of Titus – from Jerusalem to Rome, and Back explores the image and symbolism of the Arch from various vantage points – from emperors and popes to Jews and Christians, who re-interpreted the meaning of the Arch in modern times. Rare artifacts from collections in Italy, Israel and the United States illuminate the monument’s vibrant history, as the Arch itself went from monumentalizing victory to falling into ruination and, eventually, to being restored in the modern era. Founding of the Bohemian Club
The Bohemian Club was originally formed in April 1872 by and for journalistswho wished to promote a fraternal connection among men who enjoyed the arts. Michael Henry de Young, the proprietor of the San Francisco Chronicle, provided this description of its formation in a 1915 interview: The Bohemian Club was organized in the Chronicle office by Tommy Newcombe, Sutherland, Dan O’Connell, Harry Dam, J.Limon and others who were members of the staff. The boys wanted a place where they could get together after work, and they took a room on Sacramento street below Kearny.
Journalists were to be regular members; artists and musicians were to be honorary members.[10]The group quickly relaxed its rules for membership to permit some people to join who had little artistic talent, but enjoyed the arts and had greater financial resources. Eventually, the original “bohemian” members were in the minority and the wealthy and powerful controlled the club.[11][12]Source spacer
