If you are paying attention you can’t help noticing that for many years now Our Heavenly Father has been reminding us of His Word. His Word written in the Holy Scriptures, tell us the whole story from beginning to end. He laid it all out for us so that we would not be caught unaware, and so that we would KNOW that HE is GOD. He is the ONLY ONE who can tell us the end from the beginning.
His Word tells us of the coming events. He has been giving us small tastes of what is prophesied to come. The blood moons, the waters turning to blood, floods, droughts, Meteors, swarms of locusts, flies and frogs, the sand storms that turn the day to night, and today we will talk about the “birds of prey”.
God, in his mercy is giving us every opportunity to turn from our wicked ways and come back to HIM. He is patient, kind, merciful and loving and oh so willing to forgive us, still. However, GRACE has a time limit. We are getting dangerously close to that time. I pray that everyone will give heed and seek His Face.
In His word he warns that the ungodly will meet horrible fates. Some will be killed by the sword, some by wild animals, and some will eaten by BIRDS OF PREY.

For probably the last one hundred years there have been sightings of amazingly large birds or flying Reptiles. Some appearing more birdlike may be better known as Thunderbirds. The others look more like the supposedly extinct Pterodactyls and/or Pterosaurs. All the protesting from “Scientists” declaring that it is not possible cannot drown out the testimonies of those unfortunate enough to see them with their own eyes. Much like victims of rape or abuse the numbers of people who have not reported what they HAVE seen probably greatly outnumber the reports. Why? Because people don’t like to be accused of lying and ridiculed or harassed.
Since I have had a computer I have been seeing stories of people who have seen these things. It would be impossible to put them all into this post even if I could find them all. Many of them have been deleted. But, below you will find enough to convince you that these things are real. Understand that they are here for a reason. God has them in reserve for such a time as the World is ready for judgement.
This first video surprised me this morning. It is about birds that are fully known to scientists and seen and recognized by the public. I had no idea some of these bids existed. They are scary enough. Imagine what it would be like to run into one of them under the wrong circumstances.

20 Deadliest Birds on the Planet
257,035 views May 16, 2022 Birds can be cute! Birds can be dainty! Birds can be elegant! But birds can also strike fear into us mere land dwellers. They soar through our skies, beaks and claws at the ready to strike. These are the 20 deadliest birds on the planet!
Now, as you read the articles below, think about what it was like for these folks to see these creatures up close and personal. Imagine what it will be like when these creatures are set loose to seek and kill humans. Remember, they will be set loose to kill those who have turned their back on God’s deliverance. Remember how long suffering God has been and how he tried to turns us away from our selfish pursuits.

In 1944, in New Guinea (now the nation of Papua New Guinea), Duane Hodgkinson and his army buddy saw a “pterodactyl” with a wingspan similar to a Piper Tri-Pacer plane (29 feet). Hodgkinson was interviewed by the cryptozoologist Garth Guessman, while being videotaped, in Montana in 2005. That video footage was edited by Jonathan Whitcomb, who had also interviewed Hodgkinson a number of times over a period of years but through emails, telephone, and letters (not face-to-face, as in this video). ♥ For video footage of two ropens flying over Raleigh, North Carolina, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otttc… At the time of the sighting of this flying creature (it was during World War II), the Japanese military had left this area of New Guinea. Hodgkinson, a weather observer for the field artillery, and his army friend were able to get permission to visit a local village, and they were accompanied by a native guide, by arrangement of an Australian official. At about 14 seconds from the beginning of the video, notice a page of four sketches. This is one of the pages that was used by Whitcomb to obtain a composite sketch of the head of the flying creature seen by this World War II veteran. That composite sketch was later compared, by Whitcomb, to a composite sketch that was obtained through a similar interview process with the Australian eyewitness Brian Hennessy, who had observed a large flying creature on Bougainville Island, New Guinea in 1971. Whitcomb then concluded that those two flying creatures (seen in 1944 and in 1971) were related, possibly even of the same species. For details, see the scientific paper “Reports of Living Pterosaurs in the Southwest Pacific” (by Jonathan Whitcomb). The videotaped interview of Duane Hodgkinson, in Montana in 2005, needs to be taken in context with two expeditions on Umboi Island, Papua New Guinea in 2004. Whitcomb led the first of those two expeditions and the second was led by two other Americans: David Woetzel and Garth Guessman. Within a few years, Woetzel and Whitcomb each independently wrote a scientific paper on their findings, each published in a peer-reviewed journal of science. Those two scientific papers show two different approaches to the possibility of the existence of modern pterosaurs, with two different opinions about the precise species that may be closely related to the ropen of Papua New Guinea. Yet both papers come to the same conclusion: that the ropen of Umboi Island is most likely a Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaur. Duane Hodgkinson (DH) mentions the word “bird” early in this video. He uses that word because of his first impression when the flying creature was first seen by the two men. The thing was flapping its wings as it was running, trying to get into the air, so DH naturally assumed, within a second or so of first looking at it, that it was a bird. After a few seconds, however, the strangeness of the creature became obvious. It was much bigger than any bird. During this interview in 2005, DH estimated the length of the tail was at least “ten or fifteen feet.” Is it impossible for a flying creature to have a tail that long? Consider what the native Gideon Koro told Whitcomb in the first Umboi Island ropen expedition in 2004: The length of the tail was estimated by Gideon to be seven meters; that’s 23 feet long. (See also online publications on the Perth, Australia, sighting, 1997). ♥ For up-to-date videos on discoveries and research on modern living pterosaurs, see the Youtube channel “Protect Animal Life” with its many videos on these featherless flying creatures: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcFA… ♥ To get a glimpse into how this sighting in 1944 relates to other pterosaur sightings worldwide, see the video “The Girl who saw a Flying Dinosaur” (including two sightings in Cuba): https://youtu.be/9qNFHOnh_hI ♥ For a brief introduction, by Jonathan Whitcomb, into reports of living pterosaurs in newspaper articles see, on the channel “Protect Animal Life,” the video “Living Pterosaurs – in newspapers” https://youtu.be/s1CAEx1HuI0 ♥ Now look to the eastern United States: “Pterodactyls Alive in North Carolina” https://youtu.be/jIt3SfwRUW4

Texas Pterosaurs
There are some photos that have circulated around the internet for years that suggest the pterosaurs have survived into modern times. Some of these are shown below.
Only two photos have really intrigued me at all. One of these photos shows a rancher, allegedly from the 1950s, holding a small pterosaur-like creature. The other photo I find interesting is the famous “thunderbird photo” which shows a large pterosaur nailed to the outside wall of an old homestead with several men in the foreground. Is it possible? Could pterosaurs still live?
There is a candidate in the fossil record that matches the description given by some witnesses who claim to have seen living flying pterosaurs. Currently, paleontologists recognize the previous existence of four species of giant pterosaurs, one of which that soared in the skies above what would become Texas some 70 million years ago. Quetzalcoatlus northropi is thought to be the largest flying animal that has ever lived. These reptiles were truly massive with 30-50 foot wingspans and heights approaching that of the modern day giraffe. This “Dragon of the Clouds” had a long neck, slender toothless jaws, and a head topped by a large bony crest. This flying beast was slight in build and probably weighed in the 200 lb. range. This is exactly the picture most of us envision when the word “pterodactyl” or “pterosaur” is uttered.
Could Quetzalcoatlus northropi still glide above the Lone Star State? Some anecdotal evidence suggests just that. In 1976 two San Benito, Texas police officers, Arturo Padilla and Homer Galvan, reported seeing what was to become known as the “Texas Big Bird”. While that might invoke images of the Sesame Street character to most people, rest assured, the creature seen by these officers fit the description of a pterosaur. Shortly after the sighting by the two officers, Brownsville resident Alverico Guajardo had a frightening experience. About 9:30pm he heard a loud thumping noise outside of his mobile home. He looked out of his front door and saw what he described as a bird of monstrous proportions. But was it a bird at all? Guajardo said, “It’s a bird but it’s not a bird. He paused then added, “That animal is not from this world.” Sightings of the “Big Bird” continued and tracks attributed to it were located. The tracks, measuring 12 inches in length were shown on a local television station. The resulting hullaballoo caught the attention of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department personnel who feared endangered whooping cranes might be mistaken for the “Big Bird” and shot. The TP&W issued a simple statement that said, “ALL birds are protected by state or federal law.” In February of the same year, it was reported that several school teachers were “dive-bombed” by a creature matching the description of a pterosaur on their way to work. They reported the creature’s wingspan to be at least 12 feet in length. There are other reports but you get the idea.
What are these people seeing? Is there a known animal out there that people could be mistaking for a pterosaur? I think this is very likely the case in many of the reports that describe large vulture-like feathered birds. I had an experience about a year ago when I did a double take initially thinking a massive bird was flying above me. I was out doing some maintenance on one of my game cameras in Central Texas in an area that was heavily populated by black vultures. There were several of these large birds circling overhead. I had paused to rest and was sitting on a log looking up at them when suddenly a bird three times the size of the others flew across my field of vision. At least it seemed the bird was three times the size of the others. It turned out to be a trick of perspective. I was focused on the vultures gliding a couple of hundred feet above me. The “giant” bird, it turned out, was flying considerably lower than these others. I realized this only when I saw this vulture light in the top of a large tree. Just for a few seconds I was taken aback by what my eyes told me was a huge bird.
Fine, you may be thinking, tricks of perspective might explain some of the sightings of enormous feathered BIRDS. Pterosaurs don’t look like birds. What could explain these sightings. Well, sometimes birds do look like pterosaurs. As has been discussed here before, the frigate bird is a very likely candidate for at least some of the pterosaur sightings. Guest blogger Alton Higgins aptly summed up how this large bird could be mistaken for a pterosaur in flight. Revisit Alton’s post here and check the photos below showing a female frigate bird in flight contrasted to what is purported to be a photo of a pterosaur in Papua New Guinea. As you can see they are all but identical. A person who reports a pterosaur in flight may very well be seeing a frigate bird.
But what of close-up sightings like that of Alverico Guajardo? These are more difficult to explain away. Certainly it is possible, if not likely, that hoaxes are being perpetrated in some cases. There are cases out there; however, where witnesses have been duly vetted and, seemingly, have nothing to gain by making things up. What animal could they be seeing that they are mistaking for a pterosaur? Up close no bird looks like a pterosaur. What about a bat of some kind? The wings of a bat are similar to what a pterosaur’s would look like in that they are bare of feathers/hair. Bats in Texas are small, however, and no species would be big enough to be mistaken for a pterosaur. The largest bats in the world, the flying foxes, have wingspans of only 6 feet or so and are all found in other parts of the world and, therefore, not candidates for Texas pterosaurs.
What about some man-made aircraft? Standard sized airplanes are certainly not candidates for misidentification. That being said, ultralight aircraft have become very popular over the last couple of decades. The term ultralight refers to any one of several types of lightweight one or two person airplanes. The craze took off in the 1970s when many were looking for a cheap way to fly. In Texas, and most of the U.S., no license or training is required to fly ultralights. There are several different types of aircraft that share the ultralight designation, several of which that could conceivably be mistaken, at a distance, for a pterosaur. This possibility is further enhanced now that battery powered ultralights are becoming more common. These aircraft are virtually silent and eliminate the buzz of the small gasoline engines common to older models. Most would not expect an ultralight to fly silently and jump to another conclusion.
There are some other products out there that are actually meant to mimic pterosaurs in flight. Kites are among the most common. From a distance, the kites below could be mistaken for a gliding, dipping, and diving pterosaur. The string would be all but invisible to witnesses and could fool some into thinking they were seeing a live animal. Check out the product description for the Blackwing Brand kite seen in the picture below:
This prehistoric predator has great presence in the sky with a huge 11 foot wingspan. It’s 3-dimensional body and tail both inflate and it’s wings actually flap in the wind! Recommended 150 lb. Test Line, sold separately. Product size 11 ft x 15 ft.
It isn’t too much of a stretch to think a kite with an 11 foot wingspan and wings that actually flap could hoodwink some people.
Finally, there are several radio-controlled airplanes on the market that mimic the look of pterosaurs. Check the video out below and the pictures below that.
Again, one can imagine how easily a person, not expecting to see something like this, could be totally taken aback and think they saw a real animal.
Frigate birds, ultralight aircraft, kites, and model airplanes. Do these things explain away all pterosaur sightings? No. I do believe they could explain some, however. These are just some of the possibilities that need to be investigated when a witness reports a pterosaur sighting.
Personally, I have a hard time buying into the ancient pterosaur as an explanation for modern day thunderbird sightings. Now I do have some thoughts on whether or not giant birds; true, feathered birds, might fly the skies of Texas and other parts of the world.
But that is a post for another day.

Cryptopia brings us this terrorizing story about a huge bird in South Texas. – Harlingen
BIG BIRD: (TEXAS, USA)
By Rob Morphy
In 1976, residents of South Texas’ Rio Grande Valley were terrorized by a huge, ape faced, winged beast, which, according to eyewitness reports, bore two blood-red eyes.
While this creature may share the same moniker as the affectionate, yellow plumed character adored by millions on Sesame Street, anyone who’s ever encountered this ape-faced, bird-like monstrosity will tell you that this creature is anything but lovable.
Although Tom Waldon would claim to have found unusual, three-toed tracks measured 8-inches across embedded in the ground near his Harlingen home on January 2nd, 1976, the first known sighting of the creature that would come to be known as “Big Bird” occurred on January 1st, 1976, when, then 11-year old Tracey Lawson and her 14-year old cousin, Jackie Davies, saw the beast while playing in Lawson’s back yard near Harlingen, Texas.
The two girls claim they saw the creature standing approximately 300-feet away in an irrigation canal. Lawson, frightened yet intrigued, went inside to get her binoculars. When she returned, Lawson did not (see) a the large bird she expected, but a mysterious monster staring back at her. Not surprisingly their parents, who had yet to hear any reports of the creature, were skeptical of the girls’ story.
That would be until the wee hours of January 7th when a San Benito, Texas, police officer named Arturo Padilla claimed to have seen something extraordinary in the headlights of his cruiser.
Padilla described the creature as looking like a “really big bird,” approximately 5-feet in height with a 12-foot wingspan. As striking as the proportions of this AVIAN ANOMALY are, far and away the most intriguing aspects of this flying fiend were its bald head and simian-like (simian: [adjective] of, relating to, or resembling monkeys or apes) features complete with bright red eyes.
Almost immediately following this initial encounter, Padilla’s colleague — officer, Homer Galvan — also reported seeing the thing, but due to his distant proximity all he was able to discern was a large, black, winged creature silhouetted against the sky.
Later that night, Alverico Guajardo and his nephew Ricardo — who were fishing on the banks of the Rio Grande — also claimed to have encountered the thing. They described it as having eyes as big as silver dollars and a long, skinny beak, despite the fact that it resembled a huge bat.
The next day the Brownsville Herald ran a story about Guajardo’s bizarre sighting and quoted Alverico as saying:
“I was scared. It’s got wings like a bird, but it’s not a bird. That animal is not of this world.”
This abnormally powerful fear is a sensation shared by many people who claim to have had encounters other fantastic, red-eyed, flying fiends such as the MOTHMAN, the BLACK BIRD OF CHERNOBYL, the FREIBURG SHRIEKER and the Anomalies, Monsters
CRIMEAN WAR MONSTROSITIES, just to name a few.
That having been stated, the mammalian features described by most witnesses, would seem to preclude quasi-paranormal creatures like the ones listed above. Still, as terrifying as this apparition was to behold, the worst was yet to come.
On January 14, 1976, Raymondville resident Armando Grimaldo claimed to have had the most harrowing encounter yet chronicled with this aerial atrocity. According to Grimaldo, he heard a loud flapping sound accompanied by a odd whistling noise while walking outside. Just as he glanced up to find the source of this strange noise a pair of large, talon-like claws grabbed onto the back of his shoulders, tearing his shirt and sending him crashing to the ground.
Grimaldo managed to scramble to his feet and dove under a nearby tree for protection. He stared in horror as the “Big Bird” flew away.
Neighbors, responding to Grimaldo’s shrieks, claimed that they found him in his back yard shaking and screaming, his shirt and jacket torn. Grimaldo would later describe his airborne assailant as a soaring, gorilla-faced creature with leathery, bat-like skin.
This description is not unlike those of WINGED MONKEYS that have been seen in some of the most remote regions of the Earth, such as the Indonesian ORANG-BATI, the Vietnamese AHOOL, Cameroon’s bat-like OLITIAU and even North America’s dubiously named BATSQUATCH.
On February 24th, 1976, three teachers from San Antonio claimed to have seen the “Big Bird” near Harlingen as well. The trio indicated that the creature did not look bird or bat-like, but resembled most an order of FORMERLY EXTINCT flying reptiles that were thought to have been wiped out along with the dinosaurs nearly 65 million years ago known as pteranodons.
These bizarre sightings persisted in the area for several weeks and it wasn’t long before the press got wind of these encounters and a wave of “Big Bird” hysteria swept the nation.
Local radio stations offered $1,000 rewards for the capture of this creature and television news teams showed footage of 9 by 12-inch, bird-like tracks that were said to be those of the “Big Bird.” The incident would soon reach the apex of its fame when it was spoofed by none other than the legendary Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show.
As the frenzy surrounding this phenomenon peaked, Ed Dutch, commission officer of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department – no doubt fearing that would-be monster hunters might mistakenly shoot and kill large, rare and protected birds — announced that the birds were protected by state and federal law:
“We have a number of species of birds that do exist in South Texas in the Valley area. Many of them have wingspans up to perhaps 10 feet or in excess of 10 feet, and some of them are on the rare endangered species list. The punishment for catching a protected bird could cost a hunter $5,000.”
Not long after the initial “flap” of sightings, a 5-foot tall jabiru — the tallest flying bird found in South and Central America, with a wingspan up to 9-feet — was found far from its Latin American home, near the Rio Grande River.
This combined with video footage of a large blue heron, which was passed off on a local news program as genuine footage of the creature; led some to surmise that the whole “Big Bird” fad was nothing more than non-indigenous birds being misidentified by overeager eyewitnesses.
Of course, for those who had all too close encounters with this creature — such as Officer Padilla, and Armando Grimaldo — the skeptics claim that the whole flap was caused by nothing more than giant storks and blue herons was patently ridiculous. One does not need to be a trained ornithologist to recognize the differences between a bird’s beak and a primate’s face.
Alex Resendez claimed to have seen the “Big Bird” three times during in the 1970s. The first two sightings consisted of brief glimpses of the beast over Brownsville, but the third time; Resendez swore he saw it in broad daylight near his rural McCook area home.
Resendez said the huge animal had landed not far from him in a cow pasture, which is not surprising as this animal — much like many creatures reputed to be from OUT OF THIS WORLD — was accused of numerous cattle mutilations.
He described the thing as having glassy, black eyes underscored by distinctive red markings, but its oddest feature was its beak. In his own words:
“You have to look close because his beak is very transparent. If you see it real fast, you’re going to think he ain’t got no beak… I never seen a bird that big. He was brownish, like dirt… He does not have long legs and does not stand like other birds.”
Resendez estimated that the brown bird stood over 4-feet tall, but before he could inspect it any further, an angry bull charged at the creature. The “big Bird” wasted no time in unfurling its large wings — which, much to his surprise, appeared to have blue and white stripes — and taking flight. The short legs and translucent beak would seem to indicate that this is not a typical stork or heron as skeptics claimed.
While Texas has been long known for its THUNDERBIRD sightings — and there are more than a few who have speculated that the “Big Bird” may be the very same creature — there is nothing in the annals of American zoology that even remotely compares to the ferocious, flying, ape-faced fiend that stalked the Texas skies all those years ago.

Impossibly large bird spotted in Mendenhall Valley
By Kevin Gullufsen
Thursday, February 1, 2018 11:08am
NEIGHBORSALASKA OUTDOORS
According to several eyewitness reports, a bird with a wingspan nearly the width of Mendenhall Loop Road has been spotted in the Mendenhall Valley.
The cryptozoological curiosity stems from a post in the popular Facebook page “Juneau Community Collective,” brought to the attention of the Empire by several readers. The Empire couldn’t track down a clear explanation of what the bird was, but we did talk to some bird experts and did a little digging on similar sightings from around Alaska.
Here’s the original post, from eyewitness Tabitha Bauer:
“Attn; I was just driving by the movie theater in the Valley and there was a huge black bird flying above the road. The wingspan had to be at-least 20 feet, it was almost as wide as the road. I have lived here all my life and have never seen anything like that, it freaked me out. It was not a raven or an eagle. This isn’t a joke. This thing was HUGE, almost the size of a small airplane. Did anyone else see it?”
The sighting was backed up by several others in a long comment thread on the post. Some were poking fun at the idea of a thunderbird or pterodactyl in the valley, but others weren’t so skeptical.
Bauer, recounting the sighting to the Empire a few days after spotting the bird, said it was “like an eagle, but five times as big.” She couldn’t think of any other way to describe the odd encounter.
She spotted it around 4 p.m. on Jan. 16, what would have been dusk. Bauer was driving to the bank, alone in her car.
“Right before the movie theater, I looked ahead of me and it was towards Superbear direction,” Bauer said, referencing the grocery store in the Mendenhall Mall and Gross Alaska Theatre’s Glacier Cinema.
There was rain on her windshield, so she turned on her wipers to clear the view.
That was when she saw a massive, jet-black bird with a short tail flying level with the treetops over Mendenhall Loop Road toward her. Bauer said the bird flapped its wings, soared a little higher, and flew at a fast clip over her car about 50 feet in the air.
“I looked up and right at that point, there was a gigantic, huge black bird flying right above my truck. It was basically following the roadway along the treetops.
“I slowed down to try to get a better look at it. It was heading toward the glacier, the wingspan was almost as wide as the road,” Bauer said, adding, “It was the biggest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It was very concerning. I’ve never seen anything like that.”
Bauer said that it definitely had feathers, but she couldn’t make out a beak.
“The body of it itself had to have been six to eight feet,” Bauer said. “I know it sounds nuts — I’ve been getting a lot of crap on Facebook about it like I am crazy — but I wanted to post it in case anyone else had seen it.”
Another woman, who asked that the Empire use only her first name, Diane, said she saw something very similar — this time perched, or attempting to perch, in a tree near her house late at night a few years ago.
Diane went out to smoke a cigarette at her Lemon Creek home and noticed that all the birds in the area were excited.
“All you heard was the whooshing sound in my tree. I went inside and grabbed a flashlight. It was so large, I couldn’t even get an outline of what type of bird it was,” Diane said.
Diane noticed downed branches littered her yard in the morning.
“That sounds crazy, but it was huge,” she said. “I don’t even go camping anymore.”
Similar sightings
Both of these accounts sound similar to a national headline-making event in 2002, when a very large bird was spotted in Southcentral Alaska.
A heavy equipment operator from Togiak spotted the bird then.
“At first I thought it was one of those old-time Otter planes,” the Alaska Dispatch News (now the Anchorage Daily News) quoted Moses Coupchiak, 43, a heavy equipment operator from Togiak, as saying. “Instead of continuing toward me, it banked to the left, and that’s when I noticed it wasn’t a plane.”
So what could this be? It’s debatable what the biggest bird in Alaska is, but one candidate is the black-footed albatross, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service raptor biologist Steve Lewis said. They can have a wingspan of 6-8 feet.
But it’s highly unlikely an albatross would venture into the valley. Strong winds can sometimes blow an albatross inland, but they’re generally ocean-going birds that stick to the coast, Lewis said.
“Over the water there’s a potential to see something that may have wings like an albatross, but wouldn’t be jet black and wouldn’t be over the valley at all,” Lewis said.
The Stellar’s eagle is another candidate. Like the black-footed albatross, those can have a wingspan of 6-8 feet. They generally don’t venture as far north as Juneau, but as recently as the 1990s they were consistently spotted only a few miles from Juneau on the Taku River, near Canada.
A third, and more likely explanation is that the bird was an immature female bald eagle. Those are the largest birds that are frequently in the area, Lewis said. Young bald eagles have bigger feathers than older eagles, he explained, which aid them as they learn to fly and can make them look larger than they are.
Female bald eagles are generally larger than their male counterparts, Lewis added. Their job in a mating pair is to defend the nest, so it helps to be big and imposing to scare off potential nest robbers.
Bauer and Diane were both adamant about the size of the bird, so neither the albatross, Steller’s eagle or immature female bald eagle squares with their account. They’re both too small and the wrong colors.
The Federal Aviation Administration didn’t return calls to this story, but since both eyewitnesses described seeing this thing flap its wings, it’s unlikely it was a glider or a large drone, by their accounts.

Investigator Vance Nesbitt photographed what he described as an “enormous” bird yesterday in St. Charles, Illinois. Nesbitt, who is a member of the team investigating flying humanoid sightings around Lake Michigan, was outside his place of employment when he noticed the large animal. He first shared his experience in a private message thread for members of said group, of which the Singular Fortean Society’s Tobias and Emily Wayland are members, and later solidified his story in an email to Lon Strickler of Phantoms and Monsters.

12:30 PM CSTAs a standard routine for the company that employs me, lunch time is usually 12:00 to 12:45 PM. My job description however puts me on the road for the logistics portion of the business during those hours. With the upcoming Easter holiday, schedules have changed with some clients of ours and I happened to be at the home office in St. Charles, Il during the lunch break.
I was outside the building at 12:30 PM or very close to that time by myself.
I know by habit that my friend and co-worker Bill comes out to have a smoke around that time. I was facing south leaning against the tall guardrail in the driveway, when my attention was grabbed from the top of my eye.
I took a moment to to figure out what I was looking at and soon realized it was a bird. It had circled once in a huge diameter and before it were to head out of view. This thing was enormous. I say that by the speed in which it circled seemed so slow and it moved like a circling airplane with no wing flap.
I literally ran to my desk from outside which is only 10 feet from the outside door to get my phone in hope of getting some sort of picture. I ran back out and now I began to shake as to what I’m seeing. Just then Bill came outside and said “What?” since he saw me scanning the sky with my phone on camera mode.
It only took him a second to see it too.
This thing was flying over our heads at about 900 to 1000 feet up.
I have spent 13 years in the aviation business and it’s a habit to identify planes by nature. For the business that Bill and myself do for a living, we both have a great sense of movement and judgement for distance.
I said out loud that the wingspan of this creature was at least 8 feet and I compared it to the length of a horse and or cow. Bill was wowed by it as I was too. I mentioned before that I was shaking from excitement and shock I think while trying to capture those photos. I have to say while this all took place in less than a minute (including me running for my phone) we both were left saying WTF? That was freaking huge.
I’m pretty well versed in the large bird variety around northern Illinois. St. Charles is 30 miles due west of Chicago. Sandhill Cranes are in migration right now and most all cranes fly in groups.
As a matter of fact I’ve never seen one solo in flight or on the ground. Herons and Egrets are more visible now with warmer weather coming as well as the Turkey Vultures. I know for certain that this creature we saw was at least double in size to the Sandhills and would dwarf a Vulture. I should include that I have seen a number of Bald Eagles here too on the Fox River which runs through St. Charles. Again whatever we saw was so much bigger and traveled what seemed so slow from south to north. The wings showed no typical fingers on the tips as the other birds mentioned have and I found that to be odd. The body and wings were a solid black in color, it was very uniformed. I did feel strongly however that this being was a bird and not a flying humanoid. Funny thing, I’m still shaking while writing this.
I’d be really interested in facts and not exploited stories about what this creature is. I am unaware of any wingspan larger than a crane in North America. I wouldn’t rule out a Condor however the long thin legs trailing behind made this all the more odd.
Nesbitt has shared three photographs of the animal, including the one featured at the top of this article.
St. Charles is about 40 miles west of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan, and, as Nesbitt noted, it is bisected by the Fox River. The city is also bordered by the Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve to the north, and Creek Bend Nature Center to the west.
This is the latest in a string of flying creature sightings reported in the Chicago area. Most of the sightings have taken place near the lakefront within a few miles of Lake Michigan, although there are some reports coming from the suburbs surrounding Chicago and even farther afield. The sightings generally take place in the evening or at night, often in or near a park and around water. Witnesses consistently describe a large, bat or bird-like creature, although in a small number of cases the creature was described as insect-like; and humanoid features such as arms and legs are often reported. Many of the sightings are also of something seen only briefly or are described only as a flying creature with few details, which leaves open the possibility that a large bird or bird-like being could explain some encounters. Certain species of birds are known to fly with their legs out behind them, as pictured above, which might also explain some of the sightings which report humanoid features.

You deserve to know the truth about these nocturnal featherless flying creatures seen around the world, for some day one of them might fly over your neighborhood. Watch for a ropen overhead. This is no joke. → Watch the following video: “Ropens Have Long Tails – Pterodactyl Sightings” https://youtu.be/Dc-HmprDC6s This video introduces you to Patty Carson and Eskin Kuhn, two Americans who witnessed apparent pterosaurs at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Eskin was a U.S. Marine there in 1971 and clearly saw two “pterodactyls” at close range; Patty was a child there in 1965 and saw one even closer. The flying creature seen by those two persons was a ropen: long-tailed and featherless and with a long horn-like head crest. Soon after her sighting, Patty told her parents something like, “I saw a flying dinosaur”. They did not believe her at the time, but that little girl grew up continuing to insist that the sighting was real. She drew a sketch of the flying creature decades later: in 2011. Eskin Kuhn, however, drew a sketch of the two pterosaurs within minutes of his sighting. His sketch resembles what was drawn by Patty Carson, yet the sketches show differences: the kind of variety that comes from two honest eyewitnesses who remember a real event slightly differently. It now appears that these two sketches may be the most important sketches ever drawn, in regard to biology, in human history. We now see more clearly that they saw the creature. It may be shocking that a species of pterosaur still lives on this wonderful planet of ours, but this appears to be the way things are. We have been taught since early childhood that all dinosaurs and pterosaurs became extinct long ago, but there has never been any scientific evidence for that extreme conjecture. ### ♥ Pterodactyl Sightings – 100+ videos by early 2021: https://youtu.be/IAYTZRVoVc8 You may also enjoy the video “Pterosaur Sightings in South Carolina'” https://youtu.be/_rAOzGMtFCM *** Recommended Youtube Video that is Related: “Pterodactyls Alive in North Carolina” https://youtu.be/jIt3SfwRUW4 ♥ Ropen – long tail and head crest (with Jonathan Whitcomb): https://youtu.be/6mpvbjr6rUQ ♥ You might also enjoy watching this video: “Big Pterodactyls in Canada”: https://youtu.be/p90xxLVP06M .. The Giant Thunderbird Returns
Is the Thunderbird real or myth? A gigantic bird was sighted in Alaska in January 2018 by a woman driving, having a wingspan nearly as wide as the road, and in Pennsylvania on May 26, 2013, when two friends were walking through the woods near Bryn Athen Castle and were startled by something extraordinary. “It was extremely loud, and I glanced up and saw a huge black bird,” Anthony said in his report. “It was sitting above us and we seemed to startle it. It flew about 100 feet to a nearby branch. Its wingspan was at least 10 feet, and judging how far it was it looked to be around 4 feet tall.”
This was far from the first sighting of such a creature in Pennsylvania.
On the evening of Tuesday, September 25, 2001, a 19-year-old claimed to have seen an enormous winged creature flying over Route 119 in South Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The witness’s attention was drawn to the sky by a sound that resembled “flags flapping in a thunderstorm.” Looking up, the witness saw what appeared to be a bird that had a wingspan of an estimated 10 to 15 feet and a head about three feet long.
This was just one more sighting of an incredible creature—most often considered a myth—known as a “Thunderbird.” Sightings of these gigantic birds, apparently unknown to science, go back hundreds of years and are a part of many Native American legends and traditions. They have even been blamed for abductions, or attempted abductions, of small children.
The South Greensburg witness told researcher Dennis Smeltzer that the huge black or grayish-brown bird passed overhead at about 50 to 60 feet. “I wouldn’t say it was flapping its wings gracefully,” the witness told Smeltzer, “but almost horrifically flapping its wings very slowly, then gliding above the passing big rig trucks.”
The witness observed the creature for about 90 seconds, even seeing it land on the branches of a dead tree, which nearly broke under its great weight. Unfortunately, no other witnesses saw the bird on this date, and no tangible evidence could be found for the bird after the site was searched.
What makes this story more interesting, however—even plausible—is that other sightings of similar description were reported in Pennsylvania in June and July 2001.
On June 13, a resident of Greenville, Pennsylvania, was startled by the great size of the grayish-black creature seen soaring overhead, at first thinking it was a small airplane or ultralight aircraft. This witness observed the bird for at least 20 minutes, clearly seeing its fully feathered body and confidently estimating its wingspan to be about 15 feet and its body length at about 5 feet. This bird, too, was seen to perch on a tree for at least 15 minutes before taking to air again and flying off toward the south. A neighbor of this witness claimed to have seen the creature the next day, describing it as “the biggest bird I ever saw.”
Less than a month later, on July 6, a witness in Erie County, Pennsylvania, reported a very similar sighting, according to an item in Fortean Times magazine. Again, the creature’s wingspan was estimated to be 15 to 17 feet and was described as “dark gray with little or no neck, and a circle of black under its head. Its beak was very thin and long—about a foot in length.”
These were not the first sightings of Thunderbirds in Pennsylvania, and if these reports are accurate, these birds are the largest flying creatures not yet identified by science. By comparison, the largest known bird is the wandering albatross, with a wingspan of up to 12 feet. The largest predatory birds—which the Thunderbird is most often likened to—are the Andean condor (10.5-foot wingspan) and the California condor (10-foot wingspan).
Centuries-Old Legend
The legend of the Thunderbird reaches back hundreds of years as part of the mythology of several Native American tribes of the Pacific Northwest and the Great Lakes region. It might have remained strictly a part of those cultures had not the great winged creature been seen countless times by the “white man” over the centuries.
According to the Native American myths, the giant Thunderbird could shoot lightning from its eyes, and its wings were so enormous that they created peals of thunder when they flapped.
Tall Tales or Crypto Creature?
Many tales of the Thunderbird are more recent than the Native American legends. The animal is almost always listed in the catalogs of cryptozoologists’ mysterious creatures, and although the Thunderbird has been sighted on numerous occasions, a credible photograph or video of one has never been produced, and a specimen has never been killed or captured…except perhaps once.
A tale comes out of the Arizona Territory desert about two cowboys who encountered the giant flying creature in 1890. As cowboys are wont to do, they took careful aim with their rifles at the amazing creature and blasted it from the sky. According to an article in the April 26, 1890, edition of the Tombstone Epigraph, the cowboys and their horses dragged the lifeless monster into town where its wingspan was measured at an incredible 190 feet and its body measured at 92 feet long. It was described as having no feathers but a smooth skin and wings “composed of a thick and nearly transparent membrane.” Clearly, their description more readily resembles a pteranodon, pterosaur, or pterodactyl than a large bird.
Most paranormal researchers consider this story to be a good example of Old West creative writing on the part of the newspaper. But there may be a hint of truth in it. In 1970, a man named Harry McClure claimed that he knew one of the cowboys when he was a small boy. The real story, as the cowboy told the youth, was that the creature they shot at had a wingspan of 20 to 30 feet. They did not kill the Thunderbird, however, and returned to town only with their fantastic story.
One more intriguing element to this anecdote is that a photo was supposedly taken of the great creature, held up with its wings spread by several townspeople. Remarkably, many people recall seeing this photograph printed in Fate, National Geographic, or Grit magazine or in some book about the Old West, but as yet this photo has not surfaced.
In his book Unexplained!, Jerome Clark lists many more sightings, including:
- In the early 1940s, writer Robert R. Lyman spotted a Thunderbird sitting on a road near Coudersport, Pennsylvania. It soon took to the sky, spreading its 20-foot wingspan.
- In 1969, the wife of a Clinton County, Pennsylvania, sheriff saw an enormous bird over Little Pine Creek. She said its wingspan appeared to be about as long as the creek was wide—about 75 feet!
- In 1970, several people saw the gigantic bird “soaring toward Jersey Shore [Pennsylvania]. It was dark colored, and its wingspread was almost like [that of] an airplane.”
- In 1948, several witnesses along the Illinois-Missouri border sighted a condor-like bird about the size of a Piper Club airplane.
Abductors of Children?
The most terrifying story about giant birds is that they occasionally attempt to carry away small animals and even children. This item appeared in the July 28, 1977, edition of the Boston Evening Globe:
“CARRIED OFF
“10-year-old Marlan Lowe and his mother Mrs. Ruth Lowe claim that one of two large black birds with eight-foot wingspans tried to carry Marlan off in its claws Monday evening in Lawndale, Illinois. Although several bird experts say that no bird native to Illinois could lift 70 pound Marlan, Mrs. Lowe says that Marlan was carried 20 feet before the bird dropped him when he struck the bird with his hand.” (UPI)
Other abduction stories include that of a 42-pound five-year-old girl named Svanhild Hansen who, in June 1932, was carried away by a “huge eagle” from her parents’ farm in Leka, Norway. The giant bird carried her for more than a mile, the report stated, after which it dropped her unharmed on a high mountain ledge.
In 1838, another five-year-old girl was snatched from the slope of the Swiss Alps, where she was playing, by an eagle that carried the child to its nest. Unfortunately, the girl did not survive the ordeal, and her badly mutilated body was discovered some two months later by a shepherd. The eagle’s nest, subsequently found, was said to contain several eaglets surrounding “heaps of goat and sheep bones.”

Texas Giant Bird – Mysterious Cryptid Sighted In The Rio Grande Valley
By Anomalien.com
On Sep 30, 2019
While this bird, sighted in the Rio Grande Valley in the 1970s, left no evidence behind other than sightings and one attack over a brief time period, there are theories.
This Big Bird isn’t the adorable one who lives on Sesame Street with his teddy bear Radar, but was named after him in jest. It was the subject of jokes and concern.
Most witnesses described this unknown mysterious animal, UMA, as about five feet tall, featherless and having a long beak, bat-like wings and a simian face.
Giant Bird Sightings
All reports of Giant Bird sightings came from the Rio Grande Valley in 1976.
January 1: Tracey Lawson and Cousin Jackie Davies were playing outside when they saw the creature. It was over five feet tall, had dark red eyes, bald head, gorilla-like face and a long beak. The avian emitted a shrill screech. The next day, their fathers saw three-toed tracks, pressed about an inch into the ground. The family dog stayed inside of its doghouse, leaving only to go into the house for dinner, then had to be forced back outside.
January 7: Policeman Arturo Padilla saw something in the headlights of his cruiser; it was a huge bird. Minutes later, fellow officer, Homer Galvan, sighted a large black silhouette gliding through the air. Alverico Guajardo spotted the creature and described it as looking like a bat.
January 14: Armando Grimaldo heard a sound like a bat’s wings flapping. Suddenly, large talons grabbed him and tore his shirt. It was a bird-like creature with red eyes, a monkey-like face and no beak.
About this time, several school teachers witnessed the strange bird, with a wingspan of at least 12 feet across. One of the teachers performed some research and discovered a picture that looked like what they saw. The image that the teacher found depicted a pterosaur.
Giant Bird Causes Jokes and Concern
Initially, Big Bird was the target of jokes, including those said by Johnny Carson on his national television show.
As the sightings continued, a radio station offered a reward for the creature’s capture. A television station broadcast a picture of an alleged bird track that measured about twelve inches long.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department feared hunters might mistake a protected, large, rare bird, like the whooping crane, for this strange, mysterious bird. Subsequently, they made the public aware that all birds were protected by state and/or federal law.
Some Giant Bird sightings were revealed as hoaxes or misunderstandings. A jabiru, large stork native to Latin America, with a wingspan of up to 9 feet wide, was captured. It’s believed it got lost during migratory flight.
A video of a large blue heron, native to Texas, was broadcast as that of Big Bird. The furor faded when sightings ceased. But some remembered the Big Bird sightings and they continued to wonder about the creature.
Giant Bird Theories
Mothman: Rejected mainly because the descriptions are too different and this creature’s sightings were limited to West Virginia.
Thunderbird: Open to speculation because these birds, most often sighted from Pennsylvania to the northern Midwest, have been said to resemble teratorns and pterodactyls.
Pterosaur: This is the primary theory. They were the first flying reptiles and had vertebrae. Their wings were bat-like and they had no feathers. It’s believed they became extinct sixty-five million years ago. Fossil remains of the largest known flying pterosaur, Quetzalcoatlus, were found in Big Bend National Park, Texas, in 1972, four years before the first sightings of Big Bird.
It may never be known what this strange flying creature was because it seemed to have completely disappeared. It left no evidence of its existence and there have been no new sightings since the 1970s.
Sighting Location |
We recently got in a Thunderbird report. As you may know, if you follow our website, we have taken in numerous reports of these extremely large birds. While Thunderbirds are mainly consider a myth by many, reports of these large birds have been documented for a very long time. Many of these reports are very creditable.
For those who might be unfamiliar with Thunderbirds, here is a little information.
The Thunderbird is a legendary creature in certain North American indigenous peoples’ history and culture. It is considered a supernatural being of power and strength. It is especially important, and frequently depicted, in the art, songs and oral histories of many Pacific Northwest Coast cultures, but is also found in various forms among some peoples of the American Southwest, East Coast of the United States, Great Lakes, and Great Plains.
Thunderbird is a term used in cryptozoology to describe large, bird-like creatures, generally identified with the Thunderbird of Native American tradition. While the fossil record does show that giant birds (teratorns) with wingspans between 4 and 5 m (13 and 16 ft) were likely contemporary with early man, the creature is generally regarded as a myth or legend.
With that said, here is the report.

How many Witnesses: Me and my friend, he passed away last year
Any Photos/Videos: No
Describe sighting in detail:
Me and my friends went to go ride 4 wheelers at my dads property (at the time haven’t seen him for 8 years cause he’s an ass) long story short, me and my friend Josh were checking out this old house that was probably built before there was electric or anything, anyways that was toward the edge of my dad’s land which is also directly next to the Canadian river.
The house was down this little path that lead off to an oil well looking thing. We were on Yamaha yfz450 that had aftermarket exhaust. So Josh takes off first toward the oil thing and I’m not even seconds behind. And as I take off I heard, over the 4 wheelers, like a swoosh and something caught my attention.
I look to my right, which is a somewhat open field with a treelline running same direction, at the path but probably 300 feet wide anyways, there was a giant black bird that scared the living shit out of me.
I was afraid to keep going forward, seriously, because I thought it my pluck me off the 4 wheeler. Josh looks over and he floors it and I’m still back closer to that old house. It was flying just a little above the tops of the trees, but wasn’t over them, because it was more in the field.
It flying in the direction of the river. You might think I’m crazy but I know what I saw and my friend saw. We never talked about it much because we knew no one would believe us or would think we were exaggerating.
I figured since he passed away this last year, I’d like to pass on the info in hopes of someone else discovering it.
Seriously each wing was about the length of a Honda Civic and the body of it was every bit the size of me and I’m 6 foot 200 lbs.
It was the craziest, scariest thing I have ever witnessed. I never knew anything like that existed. my name is James *******, my email (withheld). I live in Oklahoma City.
I’ll give you the exact longitude latitude of where it happened 35.4503 latitude -98.2033 longitude (Pictured above) if u have any questions I’d be happy to answer.

Many Canadians have witnessed these huge featherless flying creatures, what Westerners often can a “pterodactyl” or “dinosaur bird”. The correct name is “pterosaur”. These sightings have not been limited to encounters in Canada, for these “flying dinosaurs” have also been seen in the United States and in many other countries of the world. Thunderbird / Pterodactyl Sightings: Colorado, Texas & Mississippi
Tuesday, April 07, 2020
3 different sighting reports involving huge Thunderbird and Pterodactyl / Pterosaur creatures in Colorado, Texas and Mississippi
“In 2008, on the southeast corner of north Table Mountain in Golden, Colorado, I witnessed a large flying Thunderbird riding the lead edge of a thunderstorm that was coming out of Clear Creek Canyon. It tried to grab a turkey vulture in midair, barely missing it along the Mesa escarpment. The turkey vulture had a 4-6 foot wingspan therefore the Thunderbird had a 48-72 foot wingspan. Basically the thing had four equidistant sections (two per wing) each section being three times the vulture wingspan. The head and the legs were identical as is the wing structure (like a 2×10, not a triangle wing connected to the fuselage/body). There was also power lines and a tower directly behind the Thunderbird. The thing was immense. They do not fly, they glide and that is why they have legs that can walk them up a Mesa to jump off of.
I called the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Officer Kyle Banks came out to investigate or really to downplay the possibility of a Thunderbird, but they know. First the truth is ridiculed. Then it is denied. Then it is self evident. I have seen it in broad daylight gliding a hundred miles an hour after it tried to grab another bird in midair, truth to me is obvious.” Kirk

“This is crazy because my girlfriend and I where driving through Texas and at like 3:00 AM something flew right over our car and we could feel the wing flapping in the car. Its wing spread was literally at least two lanes on the highway width. I don’t know what it was but it was not any drone or sleep deprivation. It was something that looked exactly like a Pterodactyl and BIG. We seen it. It seemed like as we drove up to it, it was either on the road and just took off, or it swooped down then went up because it was right in front of us then, so fast, it was just flying to the driver’s side above our civic. I’m telling you, what we seen was huge. No feathers, fur, hair. Nothing but skin like a bat would have and a huge bump/something, that was very much of an attention grabber on the top of his head. I’m telling you, there was no feathers at all. Their skin was like the inside of a bat’s wing but thick like leather, if that makes any sense. And the head….. I don’t know. I’m not making this up. And if Pterodactyls are somehow still extinct, then we no doubt seen one.” DL

“I actually saw a Pterodactyl with a tail down here on Keesler AFB, Mississippi. I wasn’t the only one who saw it. Me and two other airman saw it during a ceremony outside and we weren’t sitting anywhere near each other. After I saw it, I walked around asking others and those two saw the exact thing I saw. It was huge compared to the birds flying that high. After the ceremony, I did some research and there had been sightings in Cuba on a military base as well. Ironic enough, before I did my research, I was thinking to myself, maybe it came from an island like Cuba, something that is close to Florida. Crazy there was two other witnesses who I verified with and also showed the sketch that the Cuban man saw and they said ‘That is 100% what I saw’.” FB

In the summer of 2008, Sandra Paradise was driving east from her home in Winder, Georgia, to get to her work place in Athens, GA. The sky was overcast on that early morning, so she was not using her car’s visor. Driving through the densely wooded rural area, she was shocked to see a huge flying creature pass in front of her as if it were dive bombing her car. What at first struck her the most was the long tail that ended with a heart-shaped structure. Also shocking was the head crest, which was not feathery but quite solid looking. Two weeks later, on that same Highway 82, she had another sighting, but this one was larger, even though it looked very much like the first one. She then reported her sightings to the cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb. “Pterodactyls” have been reported in many areas of North America, including Minnesota. Eyewitnesses see modern pterosaurs around the world, actually, but this is mostly about two ropen sightings in western Minnesota in the summer of 2018, by a young man (Jonathan Archer) who was interviewed on camera for this video. The two large flying creatures he encountered just east of Fargo, North Dakota, apparently had no feathers, and the second one was seen to have teeth. According to the interviewer (the cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb) the two flying creatures observed there on July 16, 2018, were probably related and flying in about the same direction at the same time: maybe a mated pair or in a parent-offspring relationship. Scott Norman, a cryptozoologist from Southern California, decided to meet with some of his associates in central California, where people had reported living pterosaurs. He was skeptical, thinking that they had videotaped only a bird at night. When he spent a night watching the sky, however, he saw something like a Pteranodon, with bat-like wings but a wingspan of about 8-10 feet and a head that he estimated was four feet long. Modern-Pterosaur News – July of 2021
The main news for now relates to the formation of a nonprofit organization that will specialize in research into reports of non-extinct modern pterosaurs, including the long-tailed featherless ropen, and to Youtube videos on the channel “Protect Animal Life”.
A new Nonprofit, “Animal Discovery”, for Research, Publicity, and Supporting Living-Pterosaur Expeditions
Animal Discovery has now been registered as a nonprofit organization in the state of Utah. By the end of July, 2021, it had four volunteer representatives in the United States (northern California, Utah, Kentucky, and Arkansas).
While the paperwork is being done to make it tax exempt in the USA, you can make a donation, although during that process there is no guarantee that your donation will be deductible for tax purposes.

Living-Pterosaur Videos on Youtube
As of July 31, 2021, the channel “Protect Animal Life” had 172 videos, almost all of them about eyewitness sightings of apparent modern pterodactyls and about research into such encounters with non-bat featherless flying creatures.
1) “Huge Pterodactyl – Bird with no Feathers”
(length = 1:56)
Sightings of large modern pterosaurs
Around the world ordinary persons have seen extraordinary flying creatures: apparent pterodactyls or pterosaurs. These “birds with no feathers” are here featured in sightings in North America and in Papua New Guinea.
2) “Ropens Have Long Tails – Pterodactyl Sightings”
From the description section:
What is a long-tailed pterodactyl that forgot to become extinct? It’s a ropen, a flying creature seen in many areas of the planet, although it’s nocturnal behavior and rarity or near-rarity have postponed its becoming classified in Western science.
3) “Flying Dinosaurs in Kansas – Pterodactyl Sightings”
Sightings of modern pterosaurs in Kansas
Description (under the video):
According to the cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb, many persons have seen an apparent living pterosaur in Kansas, yet only a small minority of those eyewitnesses have contacted him.
4) “Modern Dragon – Pterodactyls Almost Everywhere”
Description section:
The long-tailed nocturnal ropen is found worldwide, and some eyewitnesses call it a dragon. In this video of the PAL channel (Protect Animal Life) get the testimony of the World War II veteran Duane Hodgkinson and two natives in Papua New Guinea.

Ropen Seen in Texas, by a Truck Driver
As I’m driving it is already early daylight and from the left side of the road about 30-50 feet high I see this not large but ENORMOUS creature glide, not fly, from the tall trees from the left side of the road to tall trees directly on the right side. . . .

Youtube Videos on Living Pterosaurs
As we approach the 15-year anniversary of my ropen expedition on Umboi Island, I’ll share my views on some Youtube videos and playlists: about these amazing flying creatures. You choose which ones to watch.
The following are from comments made under a number of videos on the *PAL channel of Youtube (*Protect Animal Life). Each heading below is the title of the video.

First, I suggest you use the search engine Duck Duck Go: https://duckduckgo.com (It is much better than Google, in giving you sites that include positive references to the possibility that not all species of pterosaurs are extinct.)
On May 6, 2022, I uploaded to Youtube the video “New Pterodactyl Sighting Report From Colorado”:
The encounter was in northeast Colorado
The eyewitness said, “I was horseback riding when suddenly my horse stopped dead in her tracks then began to tremble violently . . . I saw it. This thing was huge and gliding rather than flying, and it was very close to the ground.”.
Three sightings of apparent modern pterosaurs, two of them terrifying, are covered here, although they are only a small fraction of all sightings from Texas that have been reported to the cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb over a period of many years.

Live Pterodactyl – 200+ Videos by 2022
So only three brief overviews of three videos are featured, each one about modern non-extinct pterodactyls, also called “flying dinosaurs”. What about the other 200 or so videos? Almost every one of them is mostly about those same flying creatures. Technically, the proper name is “pterosaur”.

Worldwide Ropens – Pterodactyls Almost Everywhere?
Worldwide Ropens – Pterodactyls Almost Everywhere?
The large nocturnal long-tailed featherless flying creature called “ropen”—that apparent pterodactyl is observed worldwide, in many nations of the earth. But why is it reported to live in many areas of the planet? Why is it seen almost everywhere? This video answers that question, and it’s simple: Ropens can fly long distances, so after thousands of years they have found ways to live in many areas of the planet.

Pterodactyl Sightings and Youtube videos
The following videos are some of the most popular on the Youtube channel Protect Animal Life (not in any precise order). The lengths are in minutes and seconds with quotations taken from the description sections of the videos and from comments submitted by viewers.
.
Pterodactyl Sightings and Human Cultures
During my expedition on Umboi Island in 2004, I saw that native the eyewitnesses sometimes might find it awkward to talk about the ropen, but they apparently had no fear that their neighbors would think them crazy for talking about seeing a ropen. On the other hand, I have noticed, over the years, that persons in Western countries commonly fear that friends and family might think them crazy for saying they had seen a living pterodactyl.
.
Pterodactyl Sightings and Evolution
My associates and I, over the past two decades or so, have been criticized in various ways, one of them in a strawman argument something like this: “They try to disprove evolution by trying to convince people that pterodactyls are alive.” The main problem with that criticism is that it’s not usually quoting any of us but declaring what our intentions are, and critics oversimply reality.
.
Pterodactyl Sightings in New York
My wife . . . was backpacking around 1988 in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. She said she saw a large flying animal over a small lake. She estimated that it had a 20 foot wingspan. But the weirdest thing was that she said it didn’t look like a bird, but rather a featherless reptile like a pterodactyl!

Pterodactyl Sightings and Youtube Videos
On the live-stream chat of the video “Youtube Pterodactyl Videos Success” (Youtube channel Protect Animal Life), on May 21, 2021, the American eyewitness Nicole Stanziale told of her sighting. . . . When I was a senior in high school in 1993, my friend and I were driving down a dark road, in Fort Mill, S.C. . . . [South Carolina]
.
Pterodactyl Sighting in Delavan, Illinois
When I looked to the south I saw this outrageously large bird just fly straight up and start flying east. It scared the living daylights out of me because it was the size of our house and bigger than the apple trees and as soon as I saw it I knew what it was. It was a friggin Pterodactyl!

Have you seen an apparent modern pterosaur, also known commonly as a “flying dinosaur”? Contact Whitcomb to report the encounter (this also applies if you just know somebody who has seen such a flying creature).
