Just WHAT THE HELL is going on in Washington State?
There is so much going on today that gives us cause to be fearful. Hopefully the fear that you are experiencing will be godly fear that leads you to turn to GOD. We are living in the LAST DAYS, everything that is happening today is designed to sift out the wheat from the chaff. To test our character.
10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. Revelation 3:10
If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Revelation 3:3
NONE of what is happening would take you by surprise if you read the bible. God told us from the beginning what would be happening in the end. Everything is happening EXACTLY as he said. The WORD says He told us all these things beforehand so that when they being to happen WE WILL KNOW THAT HE IS GOD.
Whether as an sovereign act of God, or by man’s stupidity messing with technology, in the end man kind will be scorched by the sun with great heat and fire. We are well on our way to that point.
The Pacific Northwest, especially Portland is an area that is currently in great turmoil, and suffering under tremendous heat. This post should bring you some enlightenment as to just what is the cause.

The First Six Bowls of Wrath
1And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
2And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
3And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
4And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. 5And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 6For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. 7And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
8And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 9And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
10And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 11And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
12And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
13And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
The Seventh Bowl of Wrath
17And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. 18And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 19And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Starbucks Logo – An Overview of Design, History and Evolution

Someone once said, Wake up and Smell the Coffee. Well he wasn’t wrong. Coffee is the universal mood uplifter. The holy nectar that helps many across the world get through the monday blues.
But did you know some interesting coffee facts?
• An Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi noticed that whenever his goats munch on coffee berries they become euphoric and decided to try some of the berries himself- this is how the original cup of coffee was born.
• The majority of coffee is produced in Brazil, it produces 40% of the world’s coffee.
• In terms of Coffee consumption, Finland is regarded as the world’s coffee king followed by Norway, Iceland, Denmark and the Netherlands among the top five respectively.
One of the most renowned logos and labels in the world is the Starbucks logo. Starbucks has more than 31,000 sites all over the world, and it is rising. Terry Heckler has designed the iconic Starbucks logo. There is no bad advertisement, but a little controversy surrounding the Starbucks logo has definitely given it a lot of recognition and publicity. Posts about their dubious message have been discovered in a quick internet search of the Starbucks logo’s history.
The secret meaning behind the Starbucks logo
Hopefully, this post won’t read too much like a Dan Brown book. If you are just interested in the secret Illuminati conspiracy theory, just scroll to the bottom of this post.

The official meaning as told by Starbucks
It seems that Starbucks is often asked who is the Siren and what is her story? So in January 2011 the posted an official answer on their blog. They note that when Starbucks was beginning in 1971 they were looking to create a logo that captured the seafaring history of Seattle. After looking through many old Marine books they found a Norse woodcut of the twins tailed mermaid.
Then they spin some classic marketing talk about how the logo is an icon for the future. “She is a storyteller, carrying the lore of Starbucks ahead, and remembering our past. In a lot of ways, she’s a muse –always there, inspiring us and pushing us ahead.”
The Secret Story Behind The Starbucks Logo
The evolution of the Starbucks logo design
The evolution of the Starbucks logo will be important in the next section we explore the conspiracy theories around the symbology.
The inspiration for this post came from a question that was asked on Quora about the hidden meaning and story of the Starbucks logo.
Below you can see the major iterations of the Starbucks logo from a great post on Logo Design Love. You can also play around your creativity to create a coffee logo with this 100’s of coffee logo designs.
You can see the original version of the logo was a little bit more risqué. Depicted in the logo is a twin held mermaid with exposed breasts. Over time though they began to reign in the logo. The next addition added the famous green 1987. In this version you could still easily see the two tales of the mermaid. Going forward though they cropped the logo and covered the mermaids breasts with her hair. In 2011 after 40 years they refreshed the logo again with a more contemporary flat design. They also remove the iconic “Starbucks Coffee” text that was in circling the logo.
Symbology of the twin tailed Siren
Now before we get too far into the conspiracy theories I wanted to take a second to analyze the Starbucks logo.
First we can start by looking at the shape, the Starbucks logo is obviously round. The circle is one of the most commonly used graphic shapes. Circles do not have an end or beginning so they suggest that there is a continual movement. They also can be defensive and protect what’s inside their boundaries (As in the magic circle of witchcraft) a theory that is sometimes mentioned is that they represent the womb.
In the second version of the logo it was decided to make it green. Green can have many different meanings in graphic design. The first thinking many people think of is the connection to wealth or money. It also can stand for healing, nature, or protection. (Not to mention life, reincarnation, eternal life, resurrection)
Mermaids are famous in literature, the most famous being The Little Mermaid from 1836. But mermaids have been in history for a very long time and often are thought of as a connection that human beings were once different and came from animals. Mermaids are also very feminine and have been connected with femininity. There are many stories of sailors dreaming of mermaids or being seduced. Mermaids also represent transformation as they are half human and half fish.
Mermaids are a bit different than a siren in mythology. In Greek mythology sirens are dangerous creatures who lure nearby sailors by singing. you may remember reading about them in high school English class during the Odyssey by Homer. The siren has a much less favorable symbology than that of the mermaid.
The Starbucks logo is actually neither a siren or a mermaid but a combination of the two. In mythology, this is called a Melusine. She is described often as being more serpentine than fish on her bottom half. The most prominent story that features a Melusine is the story of the Duke of Aquitaine. He marries a beautiful maid of his on the condition that he never sees her on Saturday when she bathes. Well curiosity killed the cat and you can guess what eventually happened. What he found was that she was actually a Melusine. she became very upset and transformed herself into a Dragon and flew away.
Is possible we are looking too far into the Starbucks logo. When the company was started they probably didn’t expect to become one of the largest most recognizable brands on the planet. That being said, I don’t think it was part of a larger conspiracy theory. That doesn’t mean that the Internet doesn’t think that it’s a conspiracy theory. So without further ado, I would like to explore the conspiracy periods around the Starbucks logo.
Conspiracy theories around the Starbucks logo
I will try to sum up the more popular conspiracy theories surrounding the Starbucks logo design. If you do a bit of Google research or watch some ridiculous YouTube videos you will find some very hateful people saying that it is a giant conspiracy. I will try to summarize the most legitimate arguments that I could find.
The most popular conspiracy theory is that it is a symbol of the Illuminati. The main idea is that the Illuminati are placing satanic symbols all over the world. Every time you grab a cup of Starbucks coffee you are actually being brainwashed by their secret symbloism.
Even though the Melusine sign is not the best character, it doesn’t seem to be a symbol of the devil.
But wait the Internet is not done yet. They have found a way to show that the logo inverted it is actually the devil. Maybe if you really squint your eyes it’s possible to see the resemblance.
Below I have put an image which I found online of the comparison. To me the argument doesn’t seem that convincing and it’s not going to stop me from buying a cup of coffee at Starbucks. That being said it’s interesting to see how people can interpret a design in many different ways. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below if you believe that it is a secret symbol or not.
The History of and Story Behind the Starbucks Logo
One of the Starbucks partners went in search of a suitable image for the company’s new logo. He discovered a nordic woodcut of a siren. the 16th-century design featured two tails and bare breasts, according to Mental Floss. The sea witch was adopted as the official image of Starbucks. The first logo from 1971 featured a depiction of an older witch holding the ends of her split mermaid tail in each hand. The image appeared in white against a medium brown background, enclosed in a circle. She became the focal point of the image with the name STARBUCKS at the top of the circle in a plain white font in all capital letters. The words Coffee, Tea, Spices appeared in white lettering at the bottom. There is no doubt that the first logo was catchy and somewhat attractive but the woman with her bare breasts wasn’t attractive. She was there to lure customers in to purchase coffee.
It was a simple marketing strategy. Just as mythological sirens lured sailors to their domains, the image of the sea witch was intended to draw people into the shop to purchase coffee. The partially nude figure was an unapologetic strategy for using sex to sell a product. It’s one of the oldest games in the marketing business.
The original version of the logo featured a bare-breasted siren who represented the allure of the sea. According to Mashed, it was a simple marketing strategy. Just as mythological sirens lured sailors to their domains, the image of the sea witch was intended to draw people into the shop to purchase coffee. The partially nude figure was an unapologetic strategy for using sex to sell a product. It’s one of the oldest games in the marketing business.
The Siren/Mermaid/Melusine was revamped in order to soften the image to align with the current PoliticallyCorrect values.
The Starbucks logo is easily recognized throughout the world in all its various forms. Perhaps the most memorable is the green and white version of the more wholesome siren. She is no longer the temptress, but rather, a cleaner and more positive version of a mermaid. She no longer lures sailors to their deaths. Instead, she invites consumers to become a part of an exciting experience enjoying one of the finest coffees in the world, and supporting a company that believes in the preservation of the planet.
I like coffee. A lot. Even so, I try to avoid Starbucks coffee like the plague. Though their coffee is admittedly delicious, even sinfully so, their affiliation with abortion providers is disgusting.
One of the worst companies is Starbucks, according to 2ndVote. It describes the coffee chain as “the Left’s favorite restaurant” because of its donations to the Planned Parenthood abortion chain and others groups.
“Chock full of far-left corporate ‘values’ which are completely opposed to America’s traditions of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, Starbucks has seen no problem ignoring its right-of-center and apolitical markets,” 2ndVote states on its website.
Black told Starnes that Starbucks supports the killing of unborn babies in abortions through corporate donations to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America. LifeNews.com
On January 24th, 2012, Starbucks issued a memorandum declaring that same-sex marriage ‘is core to who we are and what we value as a company.
Starbucks also used its resources to participate in a legal case seeking to overturn a federal law declaring marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
In many areas of the world where Starbucks does business, the concept of ‘gay marriage’ is unheard of and deeply offensive to cultural, moral and religious values.
In taking these actions, Starbucks has declared a culture war on all people of faith (and millions of others) who believe that the institution of marriage as one man and one woman is worth preserving.
With such insidious designs on life, marriage, the family, and religion, I started wondering about the Starbucks logo …[After reading, if you’re looking for alternatives to Starbucks coffee, I’ve prepared this article on pro-life, Christian coffee companies.]Here’s a video I have prepared investigating all the questions surrounding the logo: how did the Starbucks logo evolve to its current form? Where did the Starbucks logo come from? Is the Starbucks logo a mermaid? siren? Dagon? Lilith?
Starbucks Logo Meaning – What is that creature?
Most people realize that the name “Starbucks” comes from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Starbuck was the name of the first mate of Captain Ahab’s ship, the Pequod. Incidentally, Pequod was the first name chosen by the founders of Starbucks – Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker – but they eventually decided that name was a little too obscure.
The character Starbuck was a Quaker and known for his goodness, all of which is ironic given the hidden meaning of the Starbucks logo.So what is the Starbucks logo? What is the symbolic meaning of the image? Is the Starbucks logo Isis related? Is the Starbucks logo Dagon, a Lovecraftian Philistine demon fish god? Is it all just a conspiracy theory?Find out below …
Where did the original Starbucks logo come from? What was the evolution of the Starbucks logo to its current version?
Here is the official history of the Starbucks logo, according to the FAQ on the Starbucks webpage:
When we were originally looking for a logo for Starbucks in 1971, we wanted to capture the seafaring tradition of early coffee traders. […] We poured over old marine books until we came up with a logo based on an old sixteenth-century Norse woodcut: a two-tailed mermaid encircled by the store’s original name, Starbucks Coffee, Tea, and Spice.Co-Founder Howard Schultz elaborates a bit more on the story in the excerpt below from his 1997 book Pour Your Heart into It: How Starbucks Built a Company One Cup at a Time:[Another Starbucks co-founder] Terry [Heckler] also poured over old marine books until he came up with a logo based on an old sixteenth-century Norse woodcut: a two-tailed mermaid, or siren, encircled by the store’s original name, Starbucks Coffee, Tea, and Spice. That early siren, bare-breasted and Rubenesque, was supposed to be as seductive as coffee itself. There’s a problem with this. There’s no such thing as a 16th-century Norse woodcut. The Norse ceased to exist as such around 1300. Woodcuts didn’t arrive in Europe until about 1400.Finding a 16th century Norse woodcut would be like finding a photograph of Leonardo da Vinci. Or a selfie of Abraham Lincoln. It just didn’t happen.
So what’s the real story? Where did this image come from? And what is that weird mermaid-thing? Let’s just assume the founders of Starbucks meant nothing insidious by this anachronism. It is most likely they just forgot where they found the image. That’s a bit odd given their ferocious protection of their own intellectual property, but whatever.
So, where did the Starbucks logo really come from? What is the evolution of the Starbucks logo?
It seems Michael Krakovskiy of DeadProgrammers Cafe was among the first to unravel the mystery …In “How the Starbucks Siren Became Less Naughty,” Krakovskiy reveals that the original Starbucks logo (pictured below, right) bears an uncanny resemblance to an entry (below left) in J.E. Cirlot’s Dictionary of Symbols, which was first published in English in 1962.
There’s something just not right about this crowned mermaid and the way she is holding her double fishtail. Not to put too fine a point on it, the bare-chested mermaid appears sexually provocative.
The Starbucks logo evolved from here through various stages of simplification and abstraction.
The Evolution of the Starbucks Logo
Starbucks seems to have agreed that their original logo wasn’t exactly G-rated, especially as they “went corporate.” Here’s the transition of Starbucks logos since the 1970s:
Thankfully, Starbucks allowed their masthead a modicum of modesty. The mermaid covers up a bit, so she’s no longer bare-chested. Good decision! Also, Starbucks refocused the logo onto the mermaid’s face and – thank God – away from whatever she was doing with those fish tails. But that still leaves a big question …
Who is this Starbucks Mermaid and why is she wearing a Crown?
According to the Symbol Dictionary, the twin-tailed mermaid is Melusine or Melisande, a siren of anguepede body-type, who is also a symbol in alchemy. The legend of Melusine runs deep in French history even to the days of Charlemagne. Several royal houses trace their lineage from Melusine’s family, including Houses of Plantagenet, Angevin, and Anjou. Many rulers of French descent through history, including Richard (I) the Lionheart, have claimed to be descended from the devil. As cited by the historian Flori, the chronicler Giraud le Cambrien reports that King Richard was fond of telling a tale that he was a descendant of a countess of Anjou who was in fact the fairy Melusine, concluding that his whole family “came from the devil and would return to the devil.”[1]The Duke of Berry commissioned Jean D’Arras in 1393 to write an account of the story of Melusine, the Chronique de Melusine.[2] According to The Serpent And The Swan: The Animal Bride In Folklore And Literature, D’Arras abbreviated “Mère des Lusignan” or “Mother of the Lusignans” to form the name “Melusine.”
So what is the Legend of Melusine, the Lady of Starbucks?
Melusine was the daughter of Pressina, a water fairy, and a mortal man, King Elinas (or King Helmas). Melusine wasn’t born a mermaid, however. This was an affliction created by Melusine’s mother as punishment for what Melusine did to her father.
King Elinas met Pressina at the “fontaine de la soif,” the Fountain of Thirst – maybe the thirst for coffee? – and fell instantly in love. Pressina agreed to marry the king with one condition: he must never enter into her chambers during or just after childbirth.
Shortly thereafter, Pressina gave birth to three daughters, Melusine, Melior, and Plantina. As it to be expected, King Elinas soon broke his promise to Pressina. His curiosity soon got the best of him. Overcome with grief, Pressina runs away with her babies to a hidden island, Cephalonia.
One day many years later, Pressina takes her girls to look upon their father’s kingdom. It is then that she tells them of their father’s broken promise. Melusine decides to seek revenge against her father. With the help of her sisters, she kidnaps her father and imprisons him inside a mountain. Pressina becomes enraged when she discovers her daughter’s treachery. She curses her daughter. Every Sabbath day thereafter, Melusine’s lower half transforms into a fish or serpent.
Times passes. Melusine grows to womanhood, living alone in the forest.
Just a weird Starbucks lady living alone in the forest (drinking coffee), so what?
Into Melusine’s forest comes Raymondin, who is either the Count of Anjou or the Duke of Aquitaine depending on the account. He is distressed after having accidentally killed his uncle during a boar hunt. Melusine counsels him on how to explain the accidental death of his uncle. She also promises him wealth and power, as though she were a genie granting wishes. Raymondin quickly proposes marriage to the strange forest lady.
Wealth, power, accidental killings – what’s not to like, right? Definitely marriage material, but wait. There’s more!
Like her mother, Melusine accepts the marriage proposal conditionally: Raymondin is prohibited from seeing her in her chambers on the Sabbath.
Stays in her room all day on Sundays – this lady’s just ticking through the Commandments!
Giving little thought to the request, they were married at once. Melusine did as she promised. Raymondin’s kingdom grew quickly in power and stature. They built the cities of Poitou and Lusignan, where Melusine became the mother of the Lusignan line. She built a castle in Lusignan, where she became known as a gracious ruler.
After years of marriage and ten, mostly deformed, children, Raymondin began to grow weary of his promise. Curiously, Melusine was also loathe to attend Mass at their Cathedral.
Finally, in a fit of jealousy, Raymondin peeks into Melusine’s chambers and sees her bathing.
Starbucks Melusine: She’s just as beautiful as ever from the waist up, but …
From the waist down, her fish tails or serpent tails or whatever are thrashing around in the water. Gross.
Melusine in her bath, spied upon by her husband Raymondin Raymondin never told anybody about what he had seen. Until he did.
Raymondin tried to convince himself that nothing was wrong. So what if she’s half serpent? She’s a great mother, right? And she’s beautiful – most of the time, anyway.
But then their kids start doing bad things. Like when little Geoffrey burnt down some churches.
Raymondin finally accused his wife of being a “Faulse Serpente.”
Melusine didn’t take this too well. It wasn’t so much that her husband accused her of being the spawn of Satan. She was distraught that he had broken his promise. So Melusine does what any of us would do in a situation like that …Melusine turned into a dragon creature and flew away. For the next several generations, she was said to visit her children in the night in human form. Mostly, though, when she would appear, it was just a bad omen. If you saw her flying around, crying like a banshee, it meant death would visit the land that night.
Awesome. Let’s go start a coffee company in her image.
What then does the Starbucks dragon-lady logo mean?
Starbucks product placement in an 8th-century cathedral
This she-dragon creature has made multiple appearances in iconography, as well as history. The oldest known image of Melusine, the twin-tailed mermaid, is on the mosaic floor of the Otranto Cathedral.[3]
The twin-tailed mermaid mosaic at Otranto Cathedral. (Photo: Angelica Calabrese at Atlas Obscura) One section of the floor depicts images of Eden, along with the Tree of Life growing from the back of two elephants. Another section depicts the Inferno, virtues to adopt, and vices to avoid. This is where we find Melusine:Otranto, the home of this cathedral, passed hands through several of histories empires, including the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Norman. Commissioned by the city’s Norman rulers, the cathedral was eventually completed by the local Greek-Italian monks. If that wasn’t already a mix of symbols and icons, Otranto was also home to a thriving Jewish community. Some hypothesize that Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism, is the key to understanding the unusual mosaic.Hmmm … Eden, Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, and an evil serpent-lady. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Lilith. The Starbucks Dragon-Lady is none other than Lilith
I‘ve previously written about Lilith here, and the appropriation of her name and likeness by radical feminists and pro-abortion groups, such as the Lilith Fund, which raised money for so-called emergency abortions in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.Lilith has been called “the goddess of a thousand faces,” but she’s no goddess. Sometimes described as Adam’s first wife among her promoters, she is typically described in literature as the devil’s own wife and a “child eater.” Lilith is actually entire category of demons. The Lilith is a sexually wanton demon that comes in the night and steals newborn babies. There are ancient Sumerian prayers for women and newborns that call for protection from the lilith. She even appears in Scripture. Read more here.
In his book The White Goddess, the poet Robert Graves described Lilith:The Goddess is a lovely, slender woman with a hooked nose, deathly pale face, lips red as rowan-berries, startlingly blue eyes, and long-fair hair; she will suddenly transform herself into sow, mare, bitch, vixen, she-ass, weasel, serpent, owl, she-wolf, tigress, mermaid or loathsome hag. Her names and titles are innumerable. In ghost stories she often figures as ‘The White Lady,’ and in ancient religions, from the British Isles to the Caucausus, as the ‘White Goddess.’ I cannot think of any true poet from Homer onwards who has not independently recorded his experience of her. The test of a poet’s vision, one might say, is the accuracy of his portrayal of the White Goddess and of the island over which she rules. The reason why the hair stands on end, the eyes water, the throat is constricted, the skins crawls and a shiver runs down the spine when one writes or reads a true poem is that a true poem is necessarily an invocation of the White Goddess, or Muse, the Mother of All Living, the ancient power of fright and lust–the female spider or the queen-bee whose embrace is death.
As described above, Lilith frequently occurs among the archetypes of the world’s cultures. She is the Siren, the Lady in White, Duessa in The Faerie Queen, even Ursula in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and, of course, dragon-lady Melusine. She dates as far back as 2000 BC, and her image is found in ancient Sumerian tablets.[Insert shivers here]
Lilith is usually depicted as a beautiful woman from the waist up and as serpentine from the waist down. Sound familiar?
Is the Starbucks logo not an evil Mermaid, but actually Dagon, the evil fish god of the Philistines?
First off, probably not. The Starbucks logo is a crowned female with twin tails. These don’t match Dagon, which is typically presented as male with a single tail. Let’s still examine the evidence, though.
Here are some common depictions of Dagon:
Or, at least, these are depictions of of the Babylonian Oannes (Ὡάννης) mentioned by Berossus in the 3rd century BC. Oannes only became associated with Dagon in the 19th and 20th centuries. The scholarship making this connection has come under some scrutiny.Iconographically, we are not really sure what dagon looked like. The golden idol meme above is likely just a false equilavence.
Pagan god Dagon described in the Bible
Here is a description from Manners and Customs of the Bible:
Dagon is the diminutive of dag, and signifies ‘little fish;’ not so much, however, in reference to size, as to the affection entertained for it; so that some would render it, “dear little fish.” The Babylonians believed that a being, part man and part fish, emerged from the Erythraean Sea, and appeared in Babylonia in the early days of its history, and taught the people various arts necessary for their well-being. Representations of this fish-god have been found among the sculptures of Nineveh. The Philistine Dagon was of a similar character.[4]
Again, Dagon is a male fish, not the female fish from the Starbucks logo. Is there another basis for this comparison?
Conclusion: Is the Starbucks logo Dagon, the fish god?
No, the crowned female with double fish tails is likely not dagon, the male pagan god of the Philistines. It’s uncertain whether dagon is even part fish at all or if that’s the separate Babylonian and Phoenician god Oannes. Regardless, even if dagon is half-fish, the other half is a man, i.e. not a woman.
There is far more evidence supporting the Melusine theory of the Starbucks logo.
Either way you cut it, though, the symbolism of the Starbucks logo is evil.
What’s in a Cup? The Starbucks Logo is no mistake
Don’t think all this Starbucks imagery isn’t intentional. This isn’t the first evil cup controversy related to Starbucks.
Starbucks started a campaign in 2007 printing “The Way I See It” on their cups. The cups also featured short pontificating statements from their customers.
An Ohio woman noticed the following atheistic message stamped on the side of her coffee cup:
Why in moments of crisis do we ask God for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure. This comment might have been inspired by looking into eyes of the logo, herself.
So the next time the nice people at Starbucks begin to question your religion, ask them why they work for a company whose logo features a demon.
Do You Know The History Of The Starbucks Goddess Logo
How much do you pay attention to the logos that represent your favorite brands? Have you ever stopped to think of their origin and meaning? The logo of one of the most popular brands of coffee is known all over the world, is a crowned goddess-like figure who resembles a mermaid. Starbucks strangely calls her a Siren. Sirens often appeared in Greek mythology as a beautiful, yet dangerous creatures, that lured unsuspecting sailors with her lovely music and voices. Portrayed as femme fatales, following the Sirens’ call often ended in shipwrecks as vessels hit the rocky coast of their island.
To the average coffee drinker and person on the street, the relationship between Sirens and the Starbuck logo is relatively unknown. The logo also resembles a goddess from history named Astarte. From the Bronze Age to Classical times, Astarte was a goddess who was worshipped throughout the Eastern Mediterranean. She was a deity linked to fertility, sexuality and war. Astarte is also known for being a ‘snake’ goddess, and having her own cult worship.
One of Astarte’s symbols was a star within a circle, which was used to symbolize the planet Venus. Interestingly, two stars are found within the green circle surrounding the logo character of the former Starbucks logo, which was used to separate ‘Starbucks’ and ‘Coffee.’ Artistic depictions of the goddess often show her naked, so why was a figure with such a steamy background chosen to represent the popular coffee chain?
This symbolism of duality is also seen in alchemy. The Siren with the two tails is associated with enlightenment. (There you have a symbol of the ILLUMINATI) The two tails in alchemy represent the unity of earth and water, or body and soul. In 1971, the Starbucks logo closely resembled the two-tailed Siren Melusine.
The Starbucks Corporation is known as the largest coffeehouse company across the globe, with stores in more than 60 countries, including Japan, the United Kingdom, China, South Korea, Mexico, Thailand, and the Philippines. That’s a lot of coffee drinkers ‘worshipping’ a brand of coffee that is represented by a potentially deadly, serpent-like goddess, and no one seems to know why.

Starbucks says their original logo was “derived from a twin-tailed siren in an old sixteenth-century Norse woodcut.” It actually seems they misspoke — the term “Norse” properly refers to Viking-era Scandinavia, so a better term to use would have been “Nordic.”
Even more shocking — it seems that the original woodcut was probably German instead of Scandinavian. Probably the closest thing approaching a scandal in all this research is the revelation that the twin-tailed mermaid image is often associated with a character called Mélusine, who was more of an inland spring-maid than an actual mermaid per se (via Rupert Willoughby). But then again, Seattle itself is located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, so perhaps a mermaid who’s also a freshwater maid is the perfect symbol for the city’s most famous coffee, after all.
The Untold Truth Of Starbucks
BY CHRIS HEASMAN/JAN. 8, 2019 3:10 PM EDT/UPDATED: APRIL 21, 2020 6:42 PM EDT
You know Starbucks. It’s that chain of coffee stores which exists on what seems like every single street corner in the world. They’ve got that logo — you know the one. And then there’s that smell; that unmistakable, inimitable Starbucks smell. Not many places can lay claim to having an iconic smell, but these guys have nailed it.
Ever since its foundation in 1971, Starbucks has grown from a modest Seattle coffee shop to the corporate behemoth whose defining characteristics are recognizable to people from every corner of the Earth. What may seem like a simple staple of our day-to-day lives, however, is actually a fascinatingly complex organization with a vivid history and a whole host of bizarre little quirks that many people are totally unaware of. From its racy early logo and the literary origins of its name, to their foray into the music biz, and a clandestine branch in Langley, this is the untold truth of Starbucks.
If there’s one thing everyone knows about Starbucks, it’s that they’re everywhere. Seriously — there’s a good chance you can probably see one right now, and if you can’t there’s probably one right around the corner. The sheer scale of Starbucks’ worldwide domination was put into context by Quartz in 2014. Their mapping of the chain across the world found that Starbucks existed in 63 countries, with notable absences in Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. They also found that the distribution of Starbucks in cities mirrors the shape of the cities themselves, demonstrating the sheer expanse of the stores across each.
Quartz also found that Seoul had the most Starbucks at the time, closely followed by New York, Shanghai, London and Chicago. They also found that, if you travel from Boston to NYC to Philadelphia, you’ll never be more than 10 miles of a Starbucks (and you could continue down to Baltimore, Washington, Richmond and Virginia and only be more than 10 miles away twice). So, yeah. Lots of Starbucks.

Nike Sneakers Face Recall as Company Spells Its Own Name Wrongly
Nike unveiled the new Air Force 1 Low shoes earlier this week. The white shoes feature angel wing-like covers on the tongues and a definition of Nike’s name on the insoles.
The back of the shoe features embroidery that appears to say “NIKE Air,” with “NIKE” written using letters from the Greek alphabet. But Greek speakers have pointed out that the writing does not read “NIKE,” but instead says: “PIKS.”
A petition has accused Nike of cultural appropriation and is “asking Nike to preserve and respect the Greek culture and history by accurately using the Greek alphabet when writing and referring to the Goddess NIKE.”
The petition calls on supporters to: “Join together to advocate and preserve Greek culture and history now!”
One supporter of the petition said: “The name should be spelled correctly. Stop using the Greek language in this incorrect form, it has nothing to do with the Goddess Nike. Stop bastardizing the Greek language. The Goddess Nike should be spelled properly, don’t mock my cultural heritage.”
Another said: “NIKE! You either do something like this right or NOT at all! ΠΙΚΣ is just vulgar! It is pronounced “PIKS” in Greek! Please, please, please correct the spelling of this important word “ΝΙΚΗ”!”

The Satanic Temple – Washington State Chapter The Satanic Temple of Washington is a nontheistic religious organization featuring activism as worship. We fight for justice, compassion, and freedom of religion.
(If you are non-THEISTIC, than WHO are you worshipping? Well, that should be obvious to everyone. You claim that you do not see Satan as a being, yet you are always exhalting his name “Satan” “Hail Satan”, and his image and his sigils and his number. Sounds like WORSHIP to me.)
God Vs Satan In Washington State Showdown | Ancient Origins
One shouldn’t really be shocked that this congregation of Satanists from Washington have been granted permission to perform a ritual on the north steps of the Capitol Building next month as they are a bonafide religion in the eyes of the United States IRS who granted the group tax-free religious status in America over a decade ago. Satanic Temple representative, Tarkus Claypool, said the group contacted state legislators in hopes of getting an invitation to give the opening invocation on any of the 40 legislative calendar sessions, but their pitch was predictably unsuccessful.
Satanic prayer hotline started as joke receives multiple calls asking for prayer
A “Satanic prayer” hotline that was set up in Washington state as somewhat of a joke is being inundated with lots of calls.
Local intercessors, however, insist it’s better to stay focused on what God is doing, not what the devil is doing.
In an episode of NPR’s “This American Life” radio program, host Ira Glass recounted the activity of The Satanic Missionary Society, where, like Christian prayer hotlines, callers can phone in and leave voicemail messages requesting prayer.
The satanic prayer hotline, hosted on a blog, was launched by a man in Olympia, Washington, named Chris Allert, who doesn’t believe in God or Satan. Annoyed by Christians who wouldn’t stop evangelizing, he began the prayer line out of curiosity to see who would call. He soon found out people were taking prayers to Satan really seriously and wasn’t sure what to do with that, Glass explained.
Those who call this hotline have the option to have their messages posted on the internet so others can pray to Satan on their behalf. With almost no publicity, voicemail messages soon started arriving, most of which ended with “Hail Satan.”
“Hello, satanists everywhere. I’m calling to put a hex on the 1230 Club in Olympia, Washington,” one message read, “[b]ecause they start blasting the music really early every night.”
“Please make the 1230 Club go out of business, but make sure everybody that works there goes deaf, like, from playing their music so loud first. Hail Satan,” the prayer request continued.
Another caller asking for satanic prayer requested help to acquire his first-ever job. Yet another called in to complain that he had been robbed and wanted whoever stole his belongings to suffer for it.
A teenage girl called in with a “sticky situation;’ she believed she might be pregnant.
“And I need you guys to pray against the pregnancy. And if there is a baby inside of me, for Satan to kill it. Because I can’t have a baby right now. So I’m turning to Satan, and he is the only answer I have right now. So I’m just overwhelmed. So call me when you get the chance. So thank you so much. Hail Satan, right? OK, thank you. Goodbye,” she said in her message.
Other callers reportedly call in as a joke, or when they are intoxicated.
Patrick Walton, lead pastor at the International House of Prayer NW, headquartered in Federal Way, Washington, is not moved by the satanic prayer hotline, and says the best thing to do is to stay tuned into God, not getting bogged down in fighting the devil.
“Our simple answer would be, we pray prayers from the Bible, what we call (and many others) apostolic prayers, or prayers that the apostles prayed. We also pray prayers from the Old Testament as well,” he said in an email to The Christian Post on Thursday, when asked how they intercede in light of the overt presence of demonic activity in the region.
“We see these prayers are Godward in nature, mainly, if not all positive, and not asking for devils to be overthrown, but that God would change people, by way of changing the atmosphere,” he added,
Walton stressed that his comments not be taken as an official statement on behalf of the ministry but is generally “in a nutshell” how they see their prayers and intercession working in their environment.
“We don’t get into rebuking the devil, squirting oil everywhere, and shouting really loudly. We try and pray from the Bible, maintain a culture of devotion to Jesus and the whole of the Bible, and we ask, as Jude did, that the Lord would rebuke Satan,” Walton added.
“We don’t get involved in speaking directly to Satan. We keep our conversation going toward God, and we see this as a biblical pattern.”

About Us
The Satanic Missionary Society was founded on February 14, 2012 to make the world a more Infernal place, and to cater to Satanists who enjoy proselytizing. We are followers of Satan devoted to sharing our message and way of Satan with all people. We follow the Dark Lord by embracing and living the Five Satanic Virtues. We are Selfish, Lazy, Insolent, Lustful, and Vain. We are not elitist, and believe anyone can learn to walk with Satan and live a better life as a result. We see no conflict between sharing the hell-fire of Satan, and living our Satanic Virtue of Selfishness. Like any fire, it burns better and brighter as it spreads. We enjoy corrupting those around us, and do not believe any follower of Satan should deny herself this pleasure on principle.
Walking with Satan
You can begin your walk with the Devil at any time. Just look into your heart and listen to temptation. There is no outside source of authority, no Satanic Holy Book you must follow. Satan is in your heart, always there with you, a constant companion and friend.
Yes, true enough, EVIL is in your heart to take you down. To cause you to sin. Satan is not GOD and HE is not Omnipresent. He has demons assigned to each individual that reports back to him.
That is why the Bible says:
Jeremiah 17:9-10
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
SIN is always with you. Even as a Christian… But those who belong to GOD and KNOW HIM, have the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the works of the enemy.
All you have to do is listen. All you have to do is start doing what you feel like doing. If you’re having trouble hearing the Devil’s voice within you, we suggest meditating on the Five Satanic Virtues as a good place to start. Have faith in Satan and he will come to you to tempt you. Have faith in Satan, in your temptations, in your carnal desires, and you will feel better almost immediately. Satan is there, just waiting for you to listen and follow. Satan is you, what you want for yourself.
Because of SIN, we have a war going on inside of us. Sin is always with us, temptation is always there. It is only by the grace of GOD that we can be delivered from SIN and DEATH.
Romans 7:14-25
14For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Five Satanic Virtues
Selfishness
To be selfish is to ask “What’s in it for me?” Satan rejects sacrifice and martyrdom. The greater good cannot be built on self-inflicted misery. Selfless sacrifice puts us all under the pressing shadow of death. We reject sacrifice and promote selfish indulgence.
Laziness
To be lazy is to refuse to do what isn’t working, to stop, to do nothing until we have a better idea, to try something else. When we feel like doing something, we will. If we work too hard, we won’t stop to notice an easier way. We reject fruitless hard work.
Insolence
Insolence means not accepting things on authority, refusing to be humble and degraded, refusing to grovel and show respect to superiors. We insist on dignity and freedom.
Lustfulness
To be lustful is to embrace all the pleasures we can while we live, to follow our desires and passions wherever they lead us. We run to the devil that tempts us to ask for more. (Wait, I thought you don’t believe in the devil.)
Vanity
To be vain is to love and admire ourselves, to relish our own brilliance and magic, to see in ourselves what is beautiful and attractive, to build and nurture it. To be vain is to accept the forbidden fruit from the serpent in the garden. To be vain is to want to know more. We proudly leave the narcotic fog of delusion behind us.
The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. Psalm 11:5
There are six things the Lord hates—
no, seven things he detests:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family. Proverbs 6:15–19
“For I, the Lord, love justice.
I hate robbery and wrongdoing. Isaiah 61:6
For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. Malachi 2:16

Hail Satan!
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
Washington State Legalizes Assisted Suicide
EUGENICS AND DISABILITY: HISTORY AND LEGACY IN WASHINGTON
Through the garbled word soup of fancy buzzwords and bureaucratic newspeak, officials in Washington state are basically saying they are preparing to ration health services, with those whom the state seems as less desirable to receive less attention and care. In the age of what’s pretty much Bernie Sanders’s wet dream of socialized healthcare, there simply aren’t enough resources to care for everyone.
If you have any doubts about Bill Gates and his stand on EUGENICS, check out my post
BILL GATES IN HIS OWN WORDS – EUGENICS BY ANY MEANS
Washington Prepares For Healthcare Rationing, Prioritizing Healthy Young People
Washington state and hospital officials have been meeting to consider what once was almost unthinkable — how to decide who lives and dies if, as feared, the coronavirus pandemic overwhelms the state’s health care system.
“We don’t want to do it. We don’t think we should have to do it,” said Cassie Sauer, chief executive of the Washington State Hospital Association, which along with state and local health officials has been involved in refining what Sauer called a “crisis standard of care” — essentially guidelines to health care officials on who should receive treatment and who should be left to die.
Dr. Vicki Sakata, the senior medical adviser to the Northwest Health Care Response Network, said a group of medical officials and other experts have been discussing how the state would deal with a crisis that overwhelmed the medical system. She prefers to add the word “planning” to the idea of “crisis standard of care” because, in her mind, the goal is to avoid a crisis in the first place.
That said, the state is prepared to act if it has to and has developed guidelines that will be implemented across the system, from the bedside doctor to hospital systems.
“We will do it as a state under an ethical framework that is part of the state plan,” she said. “It will be overseen by an objective team who has been thoroughly briefed on the protocols and processes, and will be undertaken in a transparent and equitable manner.“But, make no mistake, it will not be pretty,” said Sakata, who is a practicing emergency medicine physician. “That’s why we are taking the steps we are taking now, the social distancing, the hand washing, all of that, so sometime down the road nobody is left having to decide who gets resources, and who doesn’t.”
The New York Times reported on Friday that state and health care officials held a conference call to discuss the triage plan. It reported the plan will assess factors such as age, health and likelihood of survival in determining who will get access to full care and who will merely be provided comfort care, with the expectation they will die, the newspaper reported.
Of course they don’t want the public to know what is being discussed behind closed doors, as the article continues:
DOH spokeswoman Lisa Stromme said the department will release information on the triage guidelines soon, saying it is “one of our top priorities.
“However, it will not be discussed externally until we can discuss it internally in the right way,” Stromme said. “It’s too crucial.”Sauer said the guidelines are being finalized and she hopes they are never implemented. If they are, then treatments will be allocated to “the greatest number of people who are likely to survive,” with others provided comfort care and allowed to die.
The decision will be made regionally, so no one doctor or hospital will have to make the decision, Sauer said. At that point, it is anticipated every hospital would be overcrowded and resources would be limited.
The coronavirus has proved to be particularly virulent among the aged and individuals suffering from underlying health problems. If a triage plan has to implemented, Sauer said, decisions will be mostly be based on people in those two categories.
“They will be less likely to receive care, and more likely to die” so people with a better chance of recovering can live, she said.
In this worst case scenario, providers begin to “care for a population” rather than individuals, says Sauer, who is participating in a state task force preparing for such a transition. It is a style of medicine that, except for several harrowing days during Hurricane Katrina, has not been practiced in America during living memory.
“You’re trying to give the most people the best chance of survival,” Sauer says.
If the medical system is swamped, hospital staff will be forced to choose which patients receive care and which are left to die to preserve resources, Sauer said. The standards being drawn up would guide care providers in directing resources toward patients most likely to recover, Sauer said, and it would likely require a governor’s order to implement them.Perhaps their next step will be providing some sort of soy and lentil food that happens to be green. (SOYLENT GREEN!)
Where do Washington State’s billionaires live?
From Jeff Bezos to Howard Schultz
Those tracking the area’s growing income inequality won’t be surprised that Washington State is home to the two richest men in the world: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
Check out Bezos’ new Amazon Headquarters. visit my article: BABEL Then and NOW!
The pair teeter around the tops of richest-people lists depending on how Amazon and Microsoft shares are doing. But lately, Bezos has kept his iron grip on the top spot, and doesn’t show many signs of dropping back to second, although $111.1 billion and $107 billion are both unfathomable amounts of money.
The pair are neighbors not just in net worth, but physical location, both with sprawling estates in the wealthy enclave on Evergreen Point Road in Medina. Bezos owns additional homes from coast to coast, with a massive $23 million home in Washington, DC and a set of ritzy Upper West Side apartments.
Most of the state’s billionaires choose to hang their hats outside Seattle, even if their homes are just outside. The only state billionaires to openly live in Seattle proper are Starbucks founder and short-lived presidential candidate Howard Schultz, in a ritzy gated community in Madison Park, and Nordstrom shareholder and heiress Anne Gittinger, who’s part of an exclusive condo community in Belltown.
While Gates, Bezos, and Schultz are perhaps the most famous on the list, many impossibly rich people—tech billionaires, telecom billionaires, even a sunglasses billionaire—all live, or at least own property, within a few hours of Seattle. While they all don’t spend their time living in Washington State exclusively, all of these billionaires own large swaths of property within. And yes, one of them owns an entire island.
Actually more than one of them own islands. Check out my article: WEALTHY PEDOS’ UNDERWATER SECRETS

After-school Satan club tests the limits of church and state
Point Defiance Park began as a military reservation after the Wilkes Expedition visited Puget Sound in the 1840s to map the bays and estuaries. Wilkes is thought to have noted that with a fort positioned at the point, and at Gig Harbor across the narrows, one could “Defy” the world.[2] The high cliffs and prominent location were never used for military operations. In 1888, President Grover Cleveland authorized its use as a public park. Wikipedia
By Now The End Begins
Satanists from the Satanic Temple of Washington State drew a crowd of protesting Roman Catholics Friday as they hoisted their pentagram and conducted a satanic ritual at the state Capitol Friday, March 6. (3 – 6, or three sixes, or 666)
According to their site, “The Department of Enterprise Services granted The Satanic Temple of Washington a permit to perform an invocation during the current legislative session, from noon to 1 p.m. March 6, on the north steps of the Legislative Building.” The event took place as scheduled with the Roman Catholic protesters pleading for the Virgin Mary to “do something” as the Satanists from The Satanic Temple cast their spells. What a scene, man, like a Chick tract come to life.
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4,5 (KJB)
Isn’t it interesting how the book of Revelation tells us that not only will God throw Satan and his followers into the Lake of Fire, but also shows us the utter destruction of the Vatican and the Roman Catholic corporation as well? I think it’s mind blowing that God puts Satanism and Roman Catholicism on pretty much the same level. Think about that awhile.
“And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Revelation 20:10 (KJB)
The Satanic Temple is the obvious choice for the burning fires of Hell, God will put all false religion there including the Roman Catholic church as well. God is no respecter of persons, and one false religion is just as bad as another.
Washington Lawmakers Approve Drug Decriminalization Bill In Committee Vote
The House Public Safety Committee voted 7–6 to approve the Pathways to Recovery Act, HB 1499, which would remove penalties for “personal use” amounts of illegal substances and expand outreach and recovery services. The vote is the first time a panel of lawmakers in any U.S. state has voted to remove criminal penalties for possession of all drugs.

Walking labyrinths in Washington State – Greater Seattle …
A labyrinth is a single, methodical path leading to a center point. Although a labyrinth is like a maze in appearance, unlike a maze it has only one path (unicursal) and no dead ends. There’s no getting lost in a labyrinth.
These pathways have been used for thousands of years for various rituals and ceremonies. Labyrinths can be used as a walking meditation for personal reflection, psychological introspection, or spiritual contemplation and prayer. Walking a labyrinth is also thought to enhance right-brain activity.
You begin a labyrinth walk at the only entrance (and exit) and proceed along the path. At the center, you pause. Finally, you turn around and walk back out again.
If using the labyrinth as a meditation, during the walk into the center, you might shed worries or ask a question. At the center, you receive what is there for you (balance, awareness, clarity, connection, an answer, etc.). On the return you may feel relaxed or experience energy.
Now that is very interesting, because we see a whole different story when we look at the ORIGIN of the WORD on EtymologyOnline.
labyrinth (n.) c. 1400, laberynthe (late 14c. in Latinate form laborintus) “labyrinth, maze, great building with many corridors and turns,” figuratively “bewildering arguments,” from Latin labyrinthus, from Greek labyrinthos “maze, large building with intricate passages,” especially the structure built by Daedelus to hold the Minotaur, near Knossos in Crete, a word of unknown origin.
Apparently from a pre-Greek language; traditionally connected to Lydian labrys “double-edged axe,” symbol of royal power, which fits with the theory that the original labyrinth was the royal Minoan palace on Crete. It thus would mean “palace of the double-axe.” But Beekes finds this “speculative” and compares laura “narrow street, narrow passage, alley, quarter,” also identified as a pre-Greek word. Used in English for “maze” early 15c., and in figurative sense of “confusing state of affairs” (1540s). As the name of a structure of the inner ear, the essential organ of hearing, from 1690s.

This Strange Phenomenon In Washington Is Too Weird For Words
There are some pretty weird and inexplicable things in Washington. For instance, there’s a strange phenomenon just north of Prosser known as Gravity Hill, where you can pull up, put your car in neutral, and somehow start rolling uphill. Some people have questioned if it’s just an optical illusion, but others have tested the elevation to prove there’s in fact an incline. It may be the only gravity hill in Washington, so hit the road and test it out for yourself!
There are several legends surrounding this place by Prosser, and it’s actually not the only one like it in the country. To this day, there’s still no explanation for how it defies gravity – but the road definitely makes for a spooky trip uphill.
To prove that it works, there’s been all kinds of documentation on this mysterious road. Check out this fascinating news story on it:
While the mysterious road is public, be sure to keep in mind the grain elevator and surrounding area is still private property.
Have you been to this Gravity Hill in Washington near Prosser before? Did your car start rolling uphill? Let us know in the comments below!
1. Billy’s Bar and Grill – Aberdeen, WA
In the seemingly ordinary, popular maritime port of Aberdeen, there exists a century-old building with a heavy past. Billy Gohl, also known as “Billy Montana,” was a well respected sailor union secretary turned murderer. Numerous arsons, murders, robberies and shootings were traced back to good old Billy, who was eventually sent to prison for his crimes, only to die later in a Washington mental asylum. Billy allegedly preyed upon Aberdeen tourists, sailors, and union opponents for over a quarter century and was blamed for the disappearance of more than a hundred men. According to some, Billy Gohl is considered one of the most prolific serial killers in US history and continues to live on in Aberdeen. Restaurant employees have reported glasses being thrown from the shelves; a paranormal investigation group claims to have captured a faint recording of some ghostly voice calling the word “whore.” Eerie cold spots dot the building where the Bar and Grill now resides, seeming to show that even in death, Billy refuses to relinquish his murderous title. If you’re in the area, hungry and feeling brave why not try your luck and see if you can bring good ol’ Billy out from the shadows.
2. Hotel Sorrento – Seattle, WA
Alice B. Toklas, lover of poet Gertrude Stein and the woman credited with inventing pot brownies back in 1954, is said to now spend her days and nights roaming the halls of The Sorrento Hotel, one of Seattle’s oldest hotels. Though her presence has been felt throughout the building, including in the basement, it is said that she can most often be found on the fourth floor, in and around room 408—though the real mystery is why she didn’t pick room 420. The woman who works the night shift says she’s seen black mist billowing out of the elevator, which sometimes stops on the fourth floor when nobody is there. Despite the fear engendered in some guests, Hotel Sorrento is not ashamed of Alice, having created a drink in her honor called the “Ms. Toklas,” made of lucid absinthe, elderflower, chamomile, honey and lemon juice. Apparently Ms. Toklas took this as an invitation to the bar, as some have been rumored to see bar glasses move on their own. Next time you find yourself in Seattle, why not sit down and have a drink with the woman who brought special brownies into our lives.
3. Thornewood Castle Inn – Lakewood, WA
Even the king of horror, Stephen King himself couldn’t keep his curiosity at bay when it came to the Thornewood Castle Inn. His ABC television mini-series “Rose Red” was filmed on location here in 2002 (this castle was also featured in a film called “There Will Be Blood”). Mr. Chester Thorne, one of the founders of the Port of Tacoma had the castle built as a gift for his then-bride, Anna. The castle is 27,000 square feet, nestled on three acres of gardens and lakefront, and now the permanent home to a few undead souls. Mr. Thorne is said to be the most prevalent spirit roaming the castle, making numerous documented appearances and allegedly unscrewing light bulbs in his former room. His wife Anna has also been seen siting in the window seat of her former room (which is now the bridal suite—no thanks, we’ll get ready in a port-a-potty), overlooking the garden. She can also occasionally be seen in the reflection of the mirror in her room. Legend has it that one of Thorne’s grandchildren drowned in the lake, and some guests have claimed to see a young child standing alone on the shore. If a mere visit to the castle just isn’t enough for you, perhaps you’d like to spend your Christmas here or have a few extra un-ghouly guests at your wedding? Scary stuff aside, we do have to admit it’s quite pretty.
4. Black Diamond Cemetery – Black Diamond, WA
It’s a bit of a no brainer to avoid cemeteries at all costs if spook is not your game. If you’re afraid of the dead or the undead (any type of dead, really), you perhaps shouldn’t subject yourselves to walking over the graves of their departed bodies. Black Diamond Cemetery, founded in 1884, was once known for its coal mining and currently has well over 1000 graves. A short walk amongst the tombstones and you’ll read of the peril that existed throughout the decades, including coal mining explosions, smallpox and influenza. Paranormal reports include seeing swinging lights through the fog—that supposedly belong to the ghost of a coal miner—quiet whistling in the wind and a trotting white horse weaving in between the headstones. The Puget Sound Ghost Hunters have published a detailed investigation of the cemetery, and while there was no physical evidence of paranormal activity, the crew experienced strange odors and the sensation of being watched. Again, haunted or not, you should probably avoid cemeteries during the entire month of October if you don’t enjoy the heebie-jeebies. Which brings us right to our next question—movie anyone?
5. Northern State Mental Hospital
Opened in the fall of 1910, Northern State Mental Hospital was built in the city of Sedro-Woolley, about an hour’s drive from Seattle, as a response to the economic crisis of the late 19th century. The hospital was meant to be home to nonviolent mentally ill patients, and it was known for its surprisingly humane practices, which were both unheard of and frowned upon at the time. Patients were often enrolled in vocational training to prepare them for their eventual release, receiving instruction in areas such as farming and printing. Then in 1922, ten years after the first admissions, a patient murdered another patient during an altercation, an event which cast a deep shadow across Northern State’s reputation. During the 1940s, the hospital took on Charles H. Jones, who was a strong participator in the practice of the controversial and extremely experimental trans-orbital lobotomy. After Jones took up residence at Northern State, a weird discrepancy appeared between the number of patients discharged and the number released—about 250 annually. The number of people to die within the walls of the hospital is rumored to be in the thousands, and there is a cemetery full of unmarked graves behind its gymnasium. Visitors have reported numerous ghost sightings, most often a little girl with a red ball who’s being followed by an unknown man, though he can never seem to find her. Other more disturbing accounts tell of a body hanging in the window of the nurses’ station. Needless to say, Northern State has long been a favorite destination of paranormal investigators, but make sure you ask before you go traipsing around the grounds—they’re not particularly receptive to living intruders.
6. Maple Valley Highway
Haunted roads are an entirely different level of scary. You’re driving on a dark road, there’s a bit of fog, a fair amount of curves, and perhaps you’re alone. Then, as you come around one bend and enter a break in the fog, you see the figure of a young girl along the side of the road. There have been many accidents along this road at the ghostly hands of this girl, who appears to be diligently looking for something. Numerous people have actually tried to communicate with her to find what it is she’s looking for (these are the people you scream at in the movies when they walk blindly into a dark basement) and rumor has it she’s looking for a locket that she lost when she died in a car accident on that very road. On the same highway, there’s an old haunted house with flickering lights despite the fact that it hasn’t had electricity for years. If you take a trip down this haunted highway and the flickering haunted house, might as well make a stop at the Haunted Forest of Maple Valley to pile on the scares.
7. Spirit Lake
The right combination of a quiet trail and an eerie darkness can spook even the most straight-laced person. There’s just something about being in the wilderness in the dark that makes you vulnerable and at the mercy of your surroundings—all the flashlights in the world wouldn’t save you. Leave the campfire talk at home, because Spirit Lake in the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument has its fair share of scary ghost stories. The 1980 volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helens claimed numerous human lives, which are now said to call Spirit Lake their home. Native Americans living in the area have always avoided the lake, saying they can hear voices coming from its depths. As the story goes, a ghost elk lures men close enough for the lake monster called Seatco to claim them deep into the lake. It is undoubtedly a gorgeous place—just look at that photo—but is there really a monster lurking beneath those bright blue waters?
8. Il Bistro in Pike Place Market – Seattle, WA
If you like a challenge and enjoy the hunt of a spooky spot, check out Il Bistro in Pike Place Market. Nestled at the end of a narrow, sloping cobblestone side road and next to the famous Gum Wall sits Il Bistro, beckoning you to enter. With its dim lighting, it’s easy to see shadows and construe all kinds of strange images. Glasses fly off the shelves, smashing to the floor without breaking, ghosts flicker into view in the dining room mirror, and a woman floats in and out of the bathroom doors. The market itself is quite old—it was established in Seattle in 1907, 108 years ago. Are these spirits the ghosts of patrons or vendors long dead, looking for one last drink at the bar? We’ll let you find out and report back to us—and take a photo while you’re there. Rumor has it that the mirror ghost likes to make an appearance on film from time to time.
9. Rancho Viejo Sports Bar & Grill – Battle Ground, WA
Ghosts must have a thing for bars, but who can blame them? At Rancho Viejo Sports Bar and Grill, formerly known as Buzz’s Sports Bar, both employees and customers have reported ghostly poltergeist activity. Some have claimed to capture apparitions or ectoplasm (a fancy term for spiritual energy) on their personal cameras and surrounding surveillance cameras have allegedly recorded an apparition on more than one occasion. Televisions mysteriously turn on in the middle of the night, which the night bartenders and owners vow isn’t a prank of their own. Customers occasionally feel chills passing through the dining room, a single drawer flies open at odd times of the day, and dimes seem to move by themselves inside the cash registers. The manager has described seeing a ghostly figure in blue with long hair disappear and reappear from the bar. Paranormal experts have said this is the ghost of a woman named Mary, who used to run a brothel on the property many years ago.
10. Holland Road – Bremerton, WA
Once the ghost occupancy limit has been reached in the bars, apparently they overflow to the streets. Spirits of departed souls seem to have a thing for loitering along the side of dark and foggy roads, seeking for new lives to claim. The story behind the ghosts on Holland Road is a bit cloudy and no one story is considered to be more true than another. Depending on who you ask, the Holland road ghost is one of two people—a young, black-haired girl with a black horse, or an old man—both of whom were killed by a drunk driver. The story of the old man is underdeveloped; it is said that he was killed by a group of teenagers while getting his mail. Most people who have traveled this road claim to have caught glimpses of the little girl and her horse, however. As the story goes, the drunk driver and a few of his buddies buried the young girl after she was struck. A couple weeks later the drunk driver mysteriously died, after denying his involvement in her death. Then, in the years after the young girl’s parents died, the house was sold to an older lady, who had documented nightly hauntings in the home throughout the years. After the old lady mysteriously died as well, officials demolished the home. Now all that’s left is the road on which they died and the lonely wanderings of the souls that remain. If you turn off your headlights as you take Holland Road, you may be able to see their shadows shifting in the dark.
11. The Bush House Country Inn – Index, WA
The Bush House Inn is a historic building, built in 1889, and currently undergoing renovations. Nobody forwarded the memo to the ghosts though, as they continue to reside within the building. At the turn of the 19th century, a young woman named Annabel came to the city of Index to wed her future husband who worked in the mines. After an explosion at the site where he worked, Annabel was told that her husband had died. Consumed by grief, she hung herself. As fate would have it, Annabel’s husband did not die in the explosion, and when he returned to her, he found her dead. Rumor has it that he promptly killed himself in classic Romeo and Juliet tit-for-tat fashion. The ghost of Annabel is said to haunt room number 9—the same place where she died—and both employees and guests have reported many unexplained phenomena. Some staff have been so shaken by their experiences that they refuse to go into certain parts of the hotel. One particular guest who had planned for an extended stay in room 9 reported that he was unable to re-enter his hotel room after having rearranged the furniture. When the hotel staff arrived and helped him open the door, they were met with a strong gust of wind rushing out of the door. When the man looked into the room, he saw that the room he had just spent time rearranging was in complete disarray. Needless to say he promptly relocated, cancelling his extended stay at the hotel. Paranormal groups have captured numerous anomalies on film throughout the hotel, picking up strange electromagnetic field measurements and a few chills to boot. Many people agree that the spirits within the walls of the Inn have a serious vendetta against the living who choose to vacation there. If you value your pulse, you may want to widen your hotel search if your travels take you through Index.
12. The Lamplighter Restaurant – Long Beach, WA
Yet again we have a bar-loving ghost who has apparently set up permanent residency at the Lamplighter Restaurant, established in 1970. More than a real terrifying spirit, this particular ghostly fellow seems playful with a sense of humor. Louie Sloan is his name, the deceased owner of the restaurant, and his ashes are on display within the restaurant. To most people, this is the obvious explanation for many of the strange oddities that happen in the bar. There have been rumors of the ashes being removed, but we have since been reassured by the current owner that they most certainly are still there. Even in death, Louie appreciates the occasional game of pool, although he can no longer play in the conventional manner. Patrons have reported seeing the pool balls roll unprovoked in every direction. He also enjoys flickering the lights, and rattling the occasional glass. Regardless of Louie’s pranks, the Lamplighter is said to be a lovely restaurant with a lively bar.
13. Manresa Castle – Port Townsend, WA
Completed in 1892, the Manresa Castle was originally the home of Mr. Charles Eisenbeis and his wife Kate. Mr. Eisenbeis served a prominent role within the early Port Townsend business community and was the town’s first mayor. Charles died in 1902 and Kate remarried years later, leaving the castle empty for nearly 20 years. In the early to mid-1900’s, ownership of the castle traded many hands and it was converted into many different types of establishments. When the castle was used as a bed and breakfast, a young woman also named Kate, who had been staying at the property, received news that her fiancé was forever lost at sea. Kate later jumped from her third story room, number 306, falling to her death. There is also a rumor floating around that a man of the cloth once hung himself in the attic. There have been many reports of heat changes, unexplained clock chimes, flickering lights, opening and closing doors, and numerous apparition sightings. Although some reports may sound creepy, such as claims that a woman stands over beds or appears at the window, the activity inside the castle is largely harmless and it remains a popular destination for tourists and curious ghost hunters alike.

The Ape Cave
From disappearing islands in Lake Union to strange sea creatures roaming the Puget Sound, Washington state has many oddities. Here are ten of those curiosities and legends.
Scotland has Nessy and we have Caddy the sea monster. It’s described as a long, snake-like creature with a horse or goat or giraffe head. It snorts and grunts, and might have whiskers or a mane.
There have been over 50 sightings of Caddy since the 1930s through the Puget Sound-Strait of Georgia area, but she’s also been seen near Alaska and Oregon. Scientists say there certainly could be secrets the ocean hasn’t yet revealed.
Every state has its share of tourist attractions and interesting things to see. Washington has famous attractions such as The Space Needle in Seattle and White Water Rafting in Spokane. These are attractions that most people visiting those cities would know about but just like any other state Washington has a number of weird and offbeat attractions that many tourists may not know about. This list is not an exhaustive one, there probably are a number of other weird places in Washington that are lesser known that can be found and there are a number of weird attractions that I have come across that I don’t find as intriguing as the ten that I have listed here. These are my top ten weird places to see and visit in the state of Washington.
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop
While visiting the waterfront in Seattle, look for this weird little store. The shop specealizes in things that are offbeat and weird of the variety you might find in Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Say hello to “Sylvester the Mummy” while you are there. The shop has moved a few times but it is currently located by pier 54.
Marvin Carr’s One of a Kind in the World Museum
Marvin Carr was a retired railroad worker in Spokane, Washington who came into some money through the stock market and started a museum of the variety of weird stuff he had collected over the years. Unlike most weird museums, it has no main theme but instead consists almost entirely of things that Carr thought were interesting. The museum mixes Hollywood memorabilia, historical oddities and the just plain weird and interesting. It is located at 5225 N. Freya St., Spokane, WA.
Bob’s Java Jive
Every state needs to boast the world’s biggest something and Washington has the World’s biggest coffee pot. Bob’s Java Jive used to be a coffee shop but it went out of business a long time ago. New owners thought of reopening it as a club and that is what it functions as now. Located in Tacoma, Washington it can be found at 2102 S Tacoma Way, It opens around 8 pm.
Marsh’s Free Museum and World’s Largest Frying Pan
In Long Beach, Washington there is another one of those strange museums that feature medical oddities. On display are things like a one eyed lamb and an Alligator Man. As a way of helping to put all of our oddities together, the owners of the museum moved it from its original location to right across the street from the World’ Largest Frying Pan. This allows everybody who wants to visit these two oddities to cut down on their distance. The Museum is located at 409 Pacific Ave. S., Long Beach, WA while the Frying an is located at he north side of 5th St. SE just east of Hwy 103/Pacific Ave.
Camlann Medieval Village
Camlann Medieval Village is a historical recreation of 1376 England that is located 4 miles North of Carnation, Washington. The site is a complete village with actors hired to live the lives of 14th century Europeans. The site also includes the Bors Hede Inne, a complete medieval restaurant experience that is available year round by reservation.
George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving
Located in Allyn, Washington is another unique attraction. George Kenny teaches students how to make detailed sculptures with a chainsaw. There are nearly 500 different and very detailed sculptures made with a chainsaw on display. It is located at 18351 E State Route 3 in Allyn, Washington.
The Robot Hut
This next attraction is by appointment only because the owner found that showing his collections of detailed robots and replicas of famous robots from pop culture was too time consuming. But if you are really passionate about robots, he will take the time to show you all of his work at the robot hut in Elk, Washington.
Northwest Museum of Legends and Lore
Seattle has a number of interesting museums, including those dedicated to music and science fiction but the most offbeat of them is this museum dedicated to legends, UFOs and cryptozoology. The museum has irregular hours so it is suggested that you call to make sure they are open, but admission is a cheap three dollars per adult visitor. It is located at 815 Airport Way South in Seattle, Washington.
By Roy Stevenson
Tucked away in a basement in Seattle’s Capitol Hill lurks the Seattle Museum of the Mysteries, a non-profit museum and research Center dedicated to furthering education, research, and history of paranormal science and ancient civilizations. The museum also explores alternate explanations of reality, such as UFOs, crop circles, Bigfoot lore, and local mysteries.
Special exhibits, photographs, artifacts, books, documents, and weird inventions line the shelves and walls of the museum. A wax head reconstructed from FBI descriptions of D.B. Cooper, the hijacker who bailed out of a commercial airliner over southwest Washington with a $200,000 ransom on November 24, 1971, never to be seen again, sits in a place of honor on a shelf, as do four sets of plaster casts of Sasquatch footprints.
SCIENCE FICTION MUSEUM AND HALL OF FAME
Seattle is also home of the science fiction museum and hall of fame. The exhibits can change on a regular basis, so checking with the website for interesting things is a good idea, but whatever is going on there is always interesting. They host an annual festival of short science fiction films as well.

George certainly loved to entertain children, but his underlying motivation were his Spiritualist beliefs. Spiritualism was an American and European faith popular in the late 1800’s through the early 1900’s. Practitioners of this faith believed, among other things, in ghosts, spirits and fairies, the presence of which was explained through the burgeoning sciences of electricity and magnetism. George was a Spiritualist Preacher who helped found the First Spiritualist Church of Tucson, Also held at Valley of the Moon were metaphysical healing lectures for the Pilgrim’s Metaphysical Healing Society where topics such as mental telepathy were discussed.
Snoqualmie, a rural community founded early in the Puget Sound region’s history, is located about 30 miles east of Seattle along the Snoqualmie River just above Snoqualmie Falls.
Father of the Snoqualmie Valley
The three forks of the river converge near the town to form Snoqualmie Falls, a spectacular 276-foot waterfall. The Snoqualmie Tribe considers the falls to contain powerful magic for peace. When non-Indian settlers reached the area in the 1850s, Snoqualmie Chief Patkanim sided with them against competing tribes. It was Chief Patkanim who signed the Point Elliott Treaty in 1855, ceding all of the tribe’s land to the United States. But the U.S. never repaid the Tribe and never gave it a reservation. Many of the Snoqualmie ended up living in poverty on land that was once theirs.

Unofficial Nickname for the State of Washington Washington was nicknamed “The Evergreen State” by pioneer C.T. Conover (a Seattle realtor and historian) for its abundant evergreen forests. All State Nicknames Although “The Evergreen State” nickname is very well-known and widely used, it has not been officially adopted by Washington’s state legislature. Of course we know that evergreen is symbolic for immortality, eternal life, reincarnation, rebirth, the Phoenix rising from the ashes. |
Unofficial State Motto of WashingtonWashington’s unofficial motto is “Alki” (or Al-ki), originally a native American word meaning “bye and bye” which evolved to mean “into the future” (Washington Legislature has not yet recognized an official state motto). Pagans, wiccans and revelers mark summer solstice at …
MARYHILL, Wash. – As their sons returned wounded, dead or not at all from heavy fighting across the Atlantic in 1918, people in this small Columbia Gorge town sought to commemorate their sacrifice.
On a visit to the original Stonehenge in England, a Quaker named Sam Hill heard stories of dark doings and ritual killings. What better way to mark the Great War then raging, he thought, than to construct a replica near his estate in Maryhill, Washington, a town on the state’s southern rim with Oregon.
Hill argued that combat between nations was an irredeemable folly and the dead soldiers an offering to the “god of war.” So he built a West Coast incarnation of Stonehenge in tribute.
The monument nearly lines up with sunrise on the solstice, just like Stonehenge — though stories about Bronze Age human sacrifices there were almost certainly false. The original structure was likely one of the earliest calendars.
And much like Stonehenge, the replica draws a coterie of neo-Druids, pagans and wiccans each year on the summer solstice. On Saturday, about 30 turned out in small groups from Oregon and southern Washington.
Hill’s testament to the World War I dead stands alone on a reedy outcropping several hundred feet above the Columbia River. Inscribed inside are the names of slain soldiers from Klickitat County. Like Stonehenge, it contains an outer ring of 16-foot-tall stones, an inner grouping of 9-foot-tall stones and five pairs of arch-like stone pillars called trilithons.
Religions that treat the sun as a deity turned to the summer solstice as a holy day. Greeks celebrated their god of agriculture, Vikings planned raids and early governance around midsummer, and Plains Indians, including the Sioux, marked the occasion with a dayslong ritual.
This year, Elise Mesnard, a 24-year-old artist from Portland, Oregon, said she arrived early Saturday and embraced the first rays of sunlight, which didn’t peek around the Columbia Gorge cliffs until about 5:30 a.m.
“It’s a beautiful, meditative area,” Mesnard said.
Egypt Rose of South Prairie, Washington, got started before the sun came up. She lit a candle and dropped wax figurines into a cauldron. The site is a public park, so the open-fire option she prefers wasn’t legal.
She and seven others chanted to the Egyptian god of the sun, Ra, and circled the Stonehenge monument three times, signifying the banishment of evil and the discovery of renewal on the longest day of the year.
“Personally, I don’t really call it a religion, because to me that involves other people,” Rose said. “It’s hard to describe it that way. I guess some people would call it paganism.”
Other solstice celebrations included thousands practicing yoga in New York City’s Times Square. (Because YOGA is SUN WORSHIP, every yoga pose is a Hindu/Buddhist pose of worship to the SUN.) At the original Stonehenge, 36,000 sun-watchers gathered Saturday on the Salisbury Plain about 80 miles southwest of London. Couples kissed, dancers circled with hoops and revelers took part in a mass yoga practice as part of the free-form celebrations.
“We’re celebrating the midpoint,” Mesnard said, “where it’s not gonna get any better than this.”

TROUT LAKE, Wash. — Over the weekend, Columbia Grove, ADF hosted its first Pan-Pagan camping festival at White Mountain Druid Sanctuary in Trout Lake, Washington. The festival, called Beyond the Gates, was attended by 35 people, and featured a variety of workshops and rituals. For example, ADF Archdruid Emeritus Reverend Kirk Thomas, who co-owns and operates Trout Lake Abbey on which the sanctuary is located, offered two lectures: Celtic Arthur and The Ancient Celtic Religion. Phaedra Bonewits was there to host a workshop on Ritual Participation and the Life and Times of Isaac Bonewits.
Among the rituals held was one dedicated to the goddess Fortuna, which, they said, “dates back to the Roman Republic.” It was held Friday night in the Druid Sanctuary’s Stone Circle. Senior Druid Jonathan Levy led the ritual and “was joined by the grove’s Bard leader, Arin Hembd.” Hembd said that Levy decided to do this ritual because of Fortuna’s “unbroken following.” Hembd explained,”Under many guises and forms this goddess is worshiped continuously through the present time, with such examples of Luck Be a Lady Tonight (from the musical “Guys and Dolls”) and phrases like, ‘How fortunate you are.’”
This inaugural Beyond the Gates festival was considered a huge success, and the group hopes to do it again next year. Hembd said, “Guests mentioned feeling as though they truly were Beyond the Gates when entering the property of Trout Lake Abbey, which has a deeply sacred feeling.” Levy and Hembd added that they were able to interview some of the attendees, such as Bonewits, Thomas and others. The interviews will be uploaded to their Part the Mist podcast over the next few weeks.OLYMPIA, Wash. — In less than one month, Pagans, Heathens and polytheists will be heading to Washington state to attend the second annual Many Gods West conference. The event is hailed as “A Polytheist Gathering for the Pacific Northwest.” Throughout the weekend several different rituals will be offered, including those hosted by Jason Mankey, Cascadia Grove, ADF, the Golden Gate Kindred, Marcella “Allec” McGuire, Sean Donahue, Anaar Niino, Laura Tempest Zakroff, Phoenix LaFae, and Gwion Raven.
Other presentations are focused on an array of topics from “Teaching to Transgress: Decolonizing Polytheistic and Pagan Pedagogies” and “Uprooting Patriarchy in Paganism and Polytheism” to “Working with Water Spirits” and “Bee Magic and Medicine.” One of the other features of this year’s event is a Plenary Session, titled “Building Polytheist Community,” and hosted by blogger John Beckett.
Syren Nagakyrie, one of the conference organizers, said, “What I find the most amazing is the feedback we have received about Many Gods West from people who attended last year, and the level of excitement from people who will attend this year for the first time. Many Gods West is a very welcoming and inclusive space of peers and we are committed to maintaining that space. We take hospitality for people and gods very seriously. While we are not an anti-capitalist conference, we do hold those values very closely; we are queer, we are anti-racist, anti-transphobic, and stand against bigotry. We are also entirely organized by women. These things form the legs which support our work with the gods and create a welcoming place at the table for Them as well. I think our presentations and rituals, none of which were solicited by the organizers, show this. To bring together so many devoted people from diverse backgrounds in celebration of the gods and each other is a great honor and a wonderful opportunity for our communities.” Many Gods West will be held Aug 5-7 at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia Washington.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — As we reported last week, local Pagan David Suhor is scheduled to deliver an invocation before the Pensacola City Council on behalf of The Satanic Temple. Suhor made news in 2014 when he delivered an invocation before the September meeting of the Escambia Board of County Commissioners. During that delivery he sang a prayer written by Starhawk with “accompanying magical gestures.”
This time around, Suhor will be delivering his invocation as member of The Satanic Temple. After it became known that he was on the schedule, the city council began debating whether to end its inclusive prayer policy. A special meeting was held July 7 to discuss the issue and allow for public comment. During that meeting, as reported by the local press. “a theological debate unfolded for an hour and half.” Suhor was at the July 7 meeting and asked the council to “replace the invocations with something that allows everyone to speak or pray or think according to their own conscience.” He ended his plea with “Hail Satan!”
In the end, the council opted to keep its inclusive prayer policy, which means Suhor will be delivering the invocation July 14. All city meetings are live-streamed and recorded for public viewing.
