SWORD RATTLING is getting louder and louder in the Middle East. War drums are pounding out the sounds of eminent destruction. We know that WAR is a very big part of the what is foretold for the coming days. It is inevitable.
This past few months we have seen the Middle East become increasing violent and the whole world seems to be caught up in the spirit of it all. This too should be no surprise. We know that in the last days the whole world will turn against Israel and it will come to a head at the Battle of Armageddon.
We know from the Bible that the greatest enemy of Israel is the Prince of PERSIA which is of course IRAN.
We also know that God tells us “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Everything we face is life has a spiritual source. That is why we are able to forgive anyone who trespasses against us, because we know it is not them, not that person, but the spirit behind them that is against us. We don’t fight our battles with man’s weapons or the devil’s weapons. We fight the good fight of FAITH. We walk by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. We pray for our enemies and bless those who despitefully use us. Because the BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD! We pray that the person attacking us will be set from the demonic forces that are using them. We stand by FAITH in the promises of GOD and HE STANDS WITH US! IF GOD be for us, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US. FASTING AND PRAYER, Thanksgiving and PRAISE AND WORSHIP… that is our battleground. The enemy comes to steal our peace and faith. We stand by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.
What we are seeing manifested in the world today is the spiritual warfare that has been going on in heaven since time began. The battle is for our souls. The devil and his minions are stupid enough to think that they can win. But we know that GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD! OUR GOD IS GREATER.

The prince of Persia in the Bible is a demonic power in Satan’s army that is over the region known today as Iran. God has an angel army, and so does Satan. These armies are at war in the heavenly places over Israel’s land and surrounding region. Since the beginning, Satan has been opposing the Jewish people and the land.

There Are Demonic Powers at Work Today
As you read scriptures such as Ephesians 6:12, you find that we do not war against flesh and blood…

Knowing this reveals what happens in the physical realm as a shadow of what happens in the spiritual realm.
Some Background on the Prince of Persia in the Bible
Israel’s land is referred to in the Bible as the Promised Land, “flowing with milk and honey.” This represents the land’s agricultural abundance. Satan is always against what and who God is for. Therefore, he is after the Jewish people and the land of Israel.
The Prince of Persia in the Book of Daniel
In 605 B.C., Babylonians plundered the land and carried Hebrew children back to Babylon. Daniel was one of these children. He prophesied and wrote the Book of Daniel while in Babylonian captivity.
God gave Daniel a series of visions about the last days; however, Daniel didn’t understand what he saw, so he prayed to God and asked for clarity. God sent an angel to explain the vision and what was happening in the spiritual realm…
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”—Daniel 10:13-14 (emphasis added)
At the time of Daniel’s vision, the Persian Empire was decades from emerging. Yet, Daniel 10 reveals that Satan was working behind the scenes to raise up a demonic prince who would pull the strings of the earthly kings to come.
The Prince of Persia Is a Demonic Prince
What is a demonic prince? It is a high-ranking angel in Satan’s army that has power over a region or territory. The world is regionally divided both in the physical and the spiritual. God has angelic armies stationed around territories, and so does Satan.
Michael Is a Prince in God’s Army
Daniel 12:1 says the archangel Michael is “the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people…” He is the high-ranking defender and protector of Israel in God’s army.
The Angel Sent to Daniel Was Held Hostage by the Prince of Persia
The angel sent to explain the vision to Daniel was held hostage by the prince of Persia in the Bible for 21 days. The archangel Michael was sent to help him break free from the demonic prince so he could deliver the message to Daniel.
Daniel 10:2 tells us that when Daniel prayed, God responded by sending an angel. But Daniel continued to pray until the angel appeared 21 days later. Don’t pass over the importance of steadfast prayers. The angel was dispatched as soon as Daniel prayed, but opposition from the enemy came, delaying his arrival. Daniel continued to pray, and eventually, there was a breakthrough. This is one reason to continue praying for Israel, just like Daniel did.
The Same Princes and Principalities Are Battling Today
The same prince of Persia in the Bible who stood against the angel in God’s army during Daniel’s time and the same archangel Micheal who watched over the Jewish people in the 6th century B.C. are the spiritual forces at war in the 21st century.
Persia Is Iran
Persia is the piece of land known today as Iran. Iran was known as Persia until 1935. Satan raised up a prince of Persia in 550 B.C. to stop the move of God and burden the people of God just as he is doing today. At this moment, Iran is waging war against Israel.
One thing everyone agrees on is that Iran is funding Hamas and Hezbollah. The stated goal of Iran is the destruction and annihilation of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.
In summary, the demonic powers and prince of Persia in the Bible are acting through terrorist groups today to attack the Jewish people and the land of Israel. Why? Because Satan hates the Jewish people.
Satan Hates the Jewish People
Israel is the most fought-over piece of real estate in the world, and the Jewish people are the most persecuted in history. The war in Israel today goes beyond physical or political reasons. It is spiritual.
As Christians, we stand with Israel. This isn’t to say we are against Palestinians, as God is for all people. But to be clear, Israel is not at war with the Palestinians. They are at war with Hamas, whom the Palestinians have also victimized.
3 Reasons Satan Hates the Jewish People
1. The prophecy in Genesis 3:15
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
God promised a Savior King, the seed of the woman, would come and bruise the head of the serpent. The Savior King is Jesus from the line of David and the seed of Abraham. Jesus was a Jew. Satan has been devising plans to stop the plan of God from the moment the Genesis 3:15 prophecy was given.
2. The prophecy in Genesis 12:1-3
“Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’”
The prophetic promise continues through Abraham. A great nation would emerge from his family, blessing all the nations. There is also a promise of a curse that falls upon those against Abraham’s descendants, Israel. Satan wants to stop the spread of God’s salvation through Jesus and the blessings given to all families of the earth.
3. The prophecy in Genesis 15:18
“On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: ‘To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.’”
God’s promises continue from the people of Israel to the land of Israel. The Promised Land belongs to the physical seed of Abraham. He gives the coordinates from the Nile River in Egypt to the Euphrates and modern-day Iraq. In Genesis 17, God says this is an everlasting covenant. Everlasting means precisely what it says—lasting forever. This promise holds today, and Satan has been trying to counteract it from the beginning.
The Nations That Come Against Israel Are Destroyed
The prince of Persia in the Bible energized kingdoms and groups then and does so still. This can seem as though the enemy is winning. However, the Bible clearly says any nation or people who come against the Jewish people will be destroyed.
The Assyrians
In 722 B.C., the Assyrians invaded Israel, leading the ten northern tribes into captivity. No Assyrians are alive today, but the Jewish people are alive and well.
The Babylonians
In 605 B.C., the Babylonians invaded and plundered Jerusalem, leading the two southern tribes into captivity. No Babylonians are alive today, but the Jewish people have prospered.
Haman in the days of the Persian Empire
In 474 B.C., Haman tricked the king of Persia into signing a decree to kill all the Jews. This story is explained in the Book of Esther. Haman was the one who was killed, not the Jews.
Adolf Hitler
In the 1930s and 1940s, Hitler orchestrated a Holocaust with the intent of killing the Jewish people. Today, Hitler is dead, and the Jewish people have moved into their land.
There is only one way to explain these events: When you get on the wrong side of Israel, you are on the wrong side of God. The Bible prophesies the destruction of all forces energized by Satan in the last days, but God plans a place of protection for His people (see Revelation 12).
After the Prince of Persia Comes the Prince of Greece
The angel delivers his message to Daniel. Daniel is brokenhearted by the news, realizing the troublesome times coming to Israel. But the angel strengthens him and tells him he has to return to fight the demonic powers against Israel (the prince of Persia and Greece).
“Then he said, ‘Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.’”—Daniel 10:20 (emphasis added)
The battle was not over for this heavenly messenger. The same armies are still at war, and even amid attacks, God’s watchful hand and powerful angel army are working behind the scenes to protect and preserve His people.

Iran attacks Israel with over 300 drones, missiles: What you need to know
Iran has launched a massive aerial attack on Israel, two weeks after a deadly strike on its consulate in Syria.

Iran unleashed a barrage of missiles and drones on Saturday night and early on Sunday, targeting Israel in retaliation for April 1’s suspected Israeli strike on its consulate in Damascus, which killed 13 people.
Here is what happened and what analysts say could happen next:
What happened in Israel and when?
- Iran’s massive aerial attack marks the first direct strike by Iran on Israeli territory from Iranian soil. Iran called the attack Operation True Promise.
- The attack began on Saturday about 20:00 GMT. It lasted about five hours, according to United States officials.
- During the attack, explosions were heard in cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv. The explosions were also heard in Jerusalem, and air raid sirens sounded in more than 720 locations as Israeli forces sought to shoot down the projectiles.
- Israel’s chief military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, said Iran’s attack involved more than 120 ballistic missiles, 170 drones and more than 30 cruise missiles, according to a report by The Associated Press news agency.
- The Israeli military also said the vast majority of the projectiles were intercepted outside the country’s borders with help from the US, the United Kingdom and France. Jordan also shot down some of the missiles aimed at Israel as they were flying through Jordanian airspace.
- Israel’s military added that a “small number of hits were identified”. In a base in southern Israel, “minor damage occurred to the infrastructure”, it said.
- A seven-year-old girl was also severely injured by missile fragments while other patients sustained minor injuries and some were treated for anxiety.
- US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Sunday that the US also intercepted “dozens” of missiles and drones launched at Israel from Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

- During the attack, Israel’s military ordered residents in the northern Israeli-occupied Golan Heights – near the Syrian and Lebanese borders – and in the southern cities of Nevatim, Dimona and Eilat to remain near bomb shelters.
- Nevatim is the site of an Israeli airbase while Dimona has a nuclear reactor on its outskirts. Eilat is Israel’s Red Sea port, which has suffered a sharp decline in operations because of repeated attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on ships using the waterway.
Why did Iran attack Israel?
- Iran carried out the attacks in retaliation for a suspected Israeli strike that killed an Iranian military commander, Major General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, in Damascus on April 1. He was killed along with six other Iranian nationals, including another general. At least six Syrian citizens were also killed.
- “It seems that Iranian leaders are determined to take action but also [be] seen to take action,” David Des Roches, an associate professor at the National Defense University in Washington, DC, told Al Jazeera.
- “What that indicates to me is that there are considerations of pride and prestige that are divorced from strategy and tactical utility that may indicate a more dangerous era than we thought,” he added.
- Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed group backed by Iran, and the Israeli military have been trading attacks across the Lebanon-Israel border since October 8, the day after the Hamas-led attacks in southern Israel and Israel’s brutal retaliation on the besieged Gaza Strip.
- On Saturday, Iranian state media announced that the armed forces had seized an Israel-linked container ship near the Strait of Hormuz.
What is the Israeli government saying?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel “will win” in a tweet after the attacks. Earlier, he spoke to the nation, stating that the military was prepared for any scenario.
- “Citizens of Israel, in recent years and especially in recent weeks, Israel has been preparing for a direct attack by Iran,” Netanyahu said.
- “Our defensive systems are deployed. We are ready for any scenario, both defensively and offensively. The State of Israel is strong. The [Israeli army] is strong. The public is strong.” He also thanked his allies, including the US and UK, for “standing alongside” Israel.
- Towards the end of Sunday, the Israeli war cabinet – comprising Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, Minister Benny Gantz and several observers – met to discuss a response to the attacks but were divided on how and when to respond, according to media reports.
- A senior official from US President Joe Biden’s administration said Israel was not seeking to escalate the situation.
- “I think Israel made clear to us they’re not looking for a significant escalation with Iran. That’s not what they’re looking for. They’re looking to protect themselves and defend themselves,” the official said.

What is the Iranian government saying?
- Iran warned Israel against any response. The chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, told state TV that if Israel retaliates, Iran’s response would be “much larger” than the overnight bombardment, according to a report by the Reuters news agency.

Iran also warned Washington that backing Israeli retaliation would lead to the targeting of US bases.

Earlier, Iran’s mission to the United Nations cited the UN Charter’s provision for self-defence under Article 51 and said the country considered “the matter … concluded”.
- “The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe,” it said on X. “It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the US MUST STAY AWAY!”
- President Ebrahim Raisi issued a statement hailing the “brave men” of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who “taught a lesson to the Zionist regime”.

What could come next for Iran, Israel and the region?
- Gideon Levy, an Israeli journalist and author, spoke to Al Jazeera about what could come next and said that if Israel were to strike back, “we are facing a regional war.” It is a scenario he does not think will happen, especially, he said, “after the very clear and impressive aid of the United States to Israel”.
- “The extent of the Biden administration’s support means Israel will have to follow the US government’s advice not to retaliate after last night’s attack,” Levy said.
- “Netanyahu cannot attack Iran without the backing of the US and be exposed to a worse attack than last night,” he added.
- Separately, analyst and journalist Daoub Kuttab wrote that the exchange between Israel and Iran “has left the rest of the Arab world terrified of what another regional war could do to an already devastated region”.
- “And if it is to take place, there will be not just regional, but global repercussions,” he added.
- “Any regional Iranian-Israeli conflict will pull in the Gulf countries but also the US, Russia and China, creating a potentially explosive global confrontation.”
- The aerial assault has drawn condemnation from Israel’s allies and warnings that it risked further escalation in the Middle East.
- Biden made clear that the US will not participate in any offensive operations against Iran, according to a senior administration official. But he reiterated his support for Israel.
- “Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks – sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel,” the White House quoted Biden as saying.
- The UN Security Council held a meeting and called on Iran and Israel to show restraint. “Neither the region nor the world can afford more war,” Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the meeting. “Now is the time to defuse and de-escalate.”
- Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned of the risk of a spillover conflict in the Middle East, stating that any escalation in the region would lead to “dangerous paths”.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the “military escalation” and called for restraint from all parties.
- China also said it was deeply concerned about escalation, adding that it was a “spillover of the Gaza conflict” and a ceasefire should be implemented without delay.
- India also expressed concern and called for an “immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, stepping back from violence and return to the path of democracy”.
- After a meeting on Sunday, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) said: “We … unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms Iran’s direct and unprecedented attack against Israel.”
- The G7 said these actions “risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation. … This must be avoided. We will continue to work to stabilise the situation and avoid further escalation.”
