Sorry it took so long to get this out to you. Don’t worry, it is all still very relevant. I thought this was going to be very brief. At first look it did not seem like there was much to see. Boy, was I wrong. I hope you enjoy discovering all that is here. I know that I have enjoyed the journey.
Since this Jubilee is all about the Queen, recognizing her, honoring her and spending some time with her, I thought I would begin my post with the Queen. Just some personal information about her and what she connects to this Jubilee.
I hope that through all of this, you will bear in mind that this Queen is not what she appears. There is a demonic presence that rules her and possesses her body, often manifesting as an enormous lizard. That has been witnessed by multiple people over the last 70 years. This is the dark side they keep occulted from our sight.
It is easy in times like this to get caught up in the romance, the pageantry, the lights, sites and sounds of the events. It is easy to look at these people through the eyes of human affection and tenderness. BEWARE! BE WISE. BE WATCHFUL!
There are signs, symbols and messages throughout every aspect of these events and everything about the people. What they wear, what they say, where they go, what they do. In this post, I try to cover as many of the important aspects as I can. There just isn’t time or space to cover it all. But, my hope is that you will be inspired and motivated to see things differently. To put on your spiritual lenses, to open your heart and mind to the leading of the Holy Spirit whose job it is to bring us to the knowledge of truth.

A special message was released by the monarch with the image which read: “Thank you to everyone who has been involved in convening communities, families, neighbors and friends to mark my Platinum Jubilee, in the United Kingdom and across the Commonwealth. I know that many happy memories will be created at these festive occasions.
“I continue to be inspired by the goodwill shown to me, and hope that the coming days will provide an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved during the last seventy years, as we look to the future with confidence and enthusiasm—ELIZABETH R.”

The queen’s official jubilee portrait was taken at Windsor Castle on May 25, 2022 in what is known as the Victoria Vestibule. This space in the castle overlooks the famous Round Tower and the queen is shown seated in front of a window with this tower as well as a statue of Charles II in the background.

We see then that a vestibule has very strong spiritual significance. It is a place of transition. A space that allows one to have a period of adjustment from one environment to another. From one world to another. Is a place that allows the owner protection from possible threats or unwanted entities. It is also a place of WAITING to be summoned to enter.
That the queen chose Windsor Castle as the background for her jubilee portrait is pertinent for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is the oldest inhabited royal residence at the queen’s disposal. The castle dates back to the 11th century and this setting highlights the potent continuity of the British monarchy.
It is not only the oldest at the queen’s disposal. It is the oldest in the WORLD!

Jan 17, 2021He began in the 1170s with the Round Tower, a structure which still stands (modified later) today on the sight of the early keep. The king also added other stone buildings surrounding the courtyards, including towers and gates.
(This history makes it a stronghold of whatever spirits abide there, which gives them authority and power.)
Another reason Windsor is a notable choice is because for the majority of her life, the castle has been a much loved family home. During World War II, the queen lived at the castle with her sister Princess Margaret, when she became queen she then raised her own family there, spending most weekends at the residence.
Engagement Ring
Perhaps one of the most noticeable elements of the Platinum Jubilee portrait is the prominent display of the queen’s diamond engagement ring.
The ring was given to the queen by Prince Philip in 1946 and was made using diamonds from a tiara which had belonged to his mother, Princess Alice of Greece (a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria).
The prominent placement of the ring in her jubilee portrait is a touching reminder that this will be the first major celebration of the monarch’s reign where she does not have her consort at her side.
His sense of service, intellectual curiosity and capacity to squeeze fun out of any situation—were all irrepressible. That mischievous, enquiring twinkle was as bright at the end as when I first set eyes on him.”
Historic Royal Necklace Gift From Queen’s Father
Another element of the portrait with both familial and royal historical pertinence is the necklace that the queen is wearing.
This two strand pearl necklace was given to the queen by her father King George VI as a wedding present in 1947. The queen decided last minute that she wanted to wear the gift with her Norman Hartnell wedding gown and so a servant had to be dispatched through the thousands of people lining The Mall to retrieve it from St. James’s Palace where it had been displayed with other wedding presents.
The pearls which make up the necklace are among the oldest in the royal collection and belonged to Queen Anne as well as Queen Caroline (wife of George II).

There is one major milestone the elite wish to finally see occur is the confiscation of our guns. The USA is really the only Country where this is a major concern for them. So it makes sense that this is where they are focusing the chaos for this time.

Bells play a huge roll in the Magic of the Jubilee.

Flags flipping and flapping in the wind or waved by people in attendance or dancers in a ceremony or ritual, people clapping their hands or stomping their feet, screaming, yelling, singing, shouting, these all contribute to the casting of the spell or the magick working as they disturb the AIR, the realm of the spirit. Great Paul Leads Bell Ringing Tribute at Platinum Jubilee
This weekend, Her Majesty The Queen is marking an extraordinary accomplishment: the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years on the throne with a Platinum Jubilee. Four days of nationwide commemorations, splendor, and pageantry (including an estimated 16,000 street parties across the United Kingdom) will last from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5, 2022.
It is understood that, given the physical demands of so many activities, the Queen will not attend all official functions, but in her place will stand other generations of the Royal Family, to include the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (on visit from California), and the Princess Royal.
The Queen remains the titular head of the Church of England, a position which is vested in the British monarch, and so a Service of Thanksgiving was organized at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. The who’s who of British royalty were in attendance, minus the Queen, who had experienced “some discomfort” during the previous day’s festivities.
Bible readings, anthems, prayers, and hymns were selected to express thankfulness for the Queen’s reign, faith, and service. As congregants gathered in the spectacular cathedral, the rich, bellowing tolls of Great Paul resounded overhead.

Weighing 16.7 tons and with a diameter exceeding 11 feet, Great Paul (the bourdon bell in the southwest tower of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London) is the largest bell ever cast in the British Isles. Within the U.K., Great Paul is surpassed in weight only by the Olympic Bell, cast in the Netherlands for the 2012 London Games, which is currently not hung for ringing.
Largely silent for over four decades after its ringing apparatus broke, Great Paul reverberated back to life in 2021. The Service of Thanksgiving marks the first royal occasion for which it has been rung following this restoration.
To ring the bell is a two-person job, manually heaving the rope to generate enough swinging momentum to make contact between the massive bronze bell and its clapper. Tolling Great Paul kicked off bell ringing across Britain, as bells and bell towers from coast to coast joined in the festive clamor.
Following the service, even more bells erupted into sound. The St. Paul’s Cathedral Guild of Ringers selected the ‘Stedman Cinques’ method of change ringing for the occasion. The Cathedral’s 12 peal bells were cast in the key of B flat in 1878 and hang in the northwest tower. The tintinnabulation rained down over central London for roughly four hours, creating a merry cacophony in the city below.

Jubilee Bell Ringing – 4 June
Jubilee Bell Ringing – 4 JuneAn attempt at the full peal of Elizabeth R Surprise Royal will be rung at The Norman Tower on Saturday 4th June starting at 10am and lasting a little over three hours. The composition is for 5070 changes to mark the occasion and has been especially composed by Brian Whiting who will be conducting the attempt.
Bury St Edmunds – Norman Tower (St James’ Gate Tower) (remember that Gates are portals, very significant in the realm of the spirit.)
Bellringers rang the same method and 5090 changes to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday in 2016.
You will be able to hear the Elizabeth R Surprise Royal from many parts of the town around the Abbey Gardens and St Edmundsbury Cathedral area but particularly at Angel Hill and Crown Street areas of the town.

A special extended bank holiday weekend will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.
On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. (you do realize that is a generation!)
To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. (just what kind of events and initiatives do they mean?)

Thursday 2nd June
Trooping the Colour: The Queen’s Birthday Parade will be held on Thursday 2nd June 2022 starting at 11am. The colour will be trooped by the 1st Battalion, Irish Guards, and more than 1200 officers and soldiers from the Household Division will put on a display of military pageantry on Horse Guards Parade, together with hundreds of Army musicians and around 240 horses. This annual event has now marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign for over 260 years.
During the Queen’s birthday parade A Royal Gun Salute will be fired.
A 21-gun salute was sounded from Castle Cornet to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The cannons were fired at midday on Thursday from the saluting battery to mark the monarch’s seven decades on the throne. Castle Cornet was also the site of the Platinum Jubilee beacon which was lit at the castle on Thursday night.
Castle Cornet is a large island castle in Guernsey, and former tidal island, also known as Cornet Rock or Castle Rock. Its importance was as a defence not only of the island, but of the roadstead. In 1859 it became part of one of the breakwaters of the Guernsey’s main harbour, St Peter Port’s harbour.
Once the parade has ended and the Royal Procession has returned to Buckingham Palace, the Royal Family’s balcony appearance will happen as in previous years.

A network of 70 ancient woodlands and 70 ancient trees is being dedicated to the Queen, marking her 70-year reign.
The woodland that inspired the 100 Acre Wood in Winnie the Pooh and the apple tree where Sir Isaac Newton discovered gravity are among those included.
We need to “protect the precious ancient woodland habitats for generations to come”, the prince said.
The Queen’s Green Canopy, of which Prince Charles is patron, has been encouraging people to plant a tree for the Jubilee and create a legacy to the Queen.
“If we are to create the ancient trees of the future we must plant more trees and hedgerows, in fields, churchyards and avenues,” the prince added.
The 69-foot tall, supporting 350 small trees on a steel structure, the tree-like form was illuminated on 2 June as the first in a chain of 1,500-3,200 beacons lit across the UK and Commonwealth countries for last weekend’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
“Tree of Trees” comprises hundreds of indigenous British species ranging from hazel to field maple trees – each planted in aluminum pots decorated with the Queen’s cypher.
The temporary sculpture, which will stand for two weeks, contains 350 trees of different types found across Britain. Some users similarly believe the ‘Tree of Trees’ bears little resemblance to a tree. The Guardian’s architecture and design critic, Oliver Wainwright, wrote that the installation looked more like a “massively over-engineered structure” than a recreation of anything in nature.
“[It is] another example of the recent fetish among certain architects and designers for conjuring a cartoonish version of nature, suspending shrubbery and balancing trees in ways that make the plants look decidedly unhappy to be there,” wrote Wainwright.
“We’ve learned more than ever, that biodiversity isn’t just a nice thing, it’s essential for our mental health,” he continued.
“We know the benefits of nature within cities – reductions in crime and antisocial behaviour, the reduction in time for people to get to heal are significantly improved by proximity to trees and nature SOURCE
One thing you should know by now about the elite is that they are all about the NUMBERS. They have spent a great deal of time, money and efort to study the following. You have to know there is a reason.
They are not only about the NUMBERS, but they are all about the SPIRAL. You see it in so many of their symbols and sigils.
This tree they have created for the Jubilee, is laid out exactly like a palm tree, as is a pine cone. Those are two symbols they also use very often. Also, all of their favorite locations will likely contain one or the other. Check it out for yourself.

Palm Tree Meaning & Symbolism
When we think of palm trees, most of us see sandy beaches and sunny skies. This is somewhat true to form, as the palm tree is one of the solar symbols. Like other solar symbols, the palm tree is bold and represents many strong characteristics.
As a solar symbol, most of the palm’s traits are masculine in nature. However, it also bears fruit, making it equally feminine. Thus, we have a perfectly balanced unity and integration of genders and characteristics.

Though not often mentioned by botanists, pine cones exhibit a property called chirality, or handedness. If you think of the columns as analogous to screw threads, the cone has two threads, one left-handed, the other right-handed, the right-handed one having a longer pitch. With patience you can collect cones of opposite chirality on campus.
Deciphering the Queen’s cypher
Queen Elizabeth II’s personal emblem, the royal cypher, is front and centre in 2022 as Commonwealth nations celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70 years on the throne.
Queen Victoria’s cypher consists of the letters ‘VRI’, ‘Victoria Regina Imperatrix’ — ‘Imperatrix’ is Latin for ‘Empress’.

Platinum Jubilee Beacons:
The United Kingdom’s long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons will continue for the Platinum Jubilee.
A beacon chain, once used as a tool for communication, has now become a symbol of unity across towns, borders, countries and continentsand is often the central point of focus for any outdoor gathering or celebration. In 1897, beacons were lit to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. In 1977, 2002 and 2012, beacons commemorated the Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees of The Queen, and in 2016 Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. Over 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.

The Queen’s Pageantmaster Bruno Peek has created a commemorative globe to mark the Platinum Jubilee.
The blue globe, which sits inside a silver crown on a blue and gold cushion, will become a centrepiece in a beacon-lighting ceremony, a key event taking place over the long June weekend to mark the monarch’s 70-year reign.
The globe was accompanied by a 70-piece military band this week as it was paraded through the grounds of the London landmark, where it will remain on public display for seven weeks.
Its design features platinum, diamond, gold and silver elements, representing the monarch’s four jubilees.
Stones were also collected from the top of the four highest British peaks – Mount Snowdon (highest mountain in Wales, at an elevation of 1,085 metres or 3,560 ft above sea level.) in Wales, Ben Nevis ( UK’s highest mountain The summit is 1,345 metres above sea level and is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles) in Scotland, Slieve Donard (Surging 2,790-feet from sea to skyhighest mountain in Northern Ireland and the wider province of Ulster, with a height of 850 metres. These were attached to the base of the crown to symbolise the coming together of the four nations in celebration of the Jubilee.
The globe will be kept in the Tower of London’s White Tower in the run-up to the Jubilee weekend, before featuring in the lighting of the Principal Beacon at Buckingham Palace on June 2.
More than 1,500 Platinum Jubilee Beacons will be lit across the UK and Commonwealth on the first evening of the extended four-day Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend in June, building on a long tradition of lighting beacons to mark significant royal celebrations.
After dark, “beacon masters” lit 3,200 fires on hilltops, castle walls, country estates and farm fields.

Service of Thanksgiving: A Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral. Great Paul, the largest church bell in the country, will be rung for the Service. It was made in 1882, but fell silent in the 1970s due to a broken mechanism. It was restored in 2021 and has been rung on 8 occasions since, but this is the 1st royal occasion it will be rung.
I found this service to be absolutely bizarre. I can’t really blame the Queen for skipping it. Of course, I know that is not what she did… she was having mobility issues. I am sure if she had been there, it would have all made sense to her. It was just very foreign to me.

Prince Charles, Camilla, Kate Middleton and Prince William were among the guests at London’s Guildhall for a reception following the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral
Still dressed in their fancy church outfits and hats, many stopped to pose for photos together before heading inside – including Peep Show star Sophie Winkleman, who is married to Lord Frederick Windsor, the son of the Queen’s cousin.
Guests tucked into a selection of tasty canapés including smoked Norfolk duck breast with grapes and balsamic, smoked salmon and dill, beetroot shortbread with whipped goats cheese and cocktail sausages. There was also a buffet including coronation chicken with grapes and rice salad, Welsh shephard’s pie, cod and chips, trout and rare fillets of Hereford beef.
For desert they were treated to vanilla clotted cream ice cream and chocolate dipped in strawberries.
They were also served English sparkling wine and wines from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Those not drinking could order non-alcoholic beverages including a cranberry bellini.
Prince Charles and Camilla were greeted by the former lord mayor Sir David Wootton and Colonel Simon Duckworth, followed closely by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Prime Minster Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Priti Patel were also in attendance, along with Health Secretary Sajid Javid and former prime minister Theresa May.
Lord Mayor Vincent Keaveny spoke at the event, telling guests: “We are immensely grateful for her 70 years of service to the United Kingdom and to the Commonwealth that we are celebrating today.
She has been a great example of duty and public service for all of us.
“She is one of the most widely recognised and respected people in the world. And for 70 years she has provided continuity, stability and unity.
“There could be no better ambassador for this country and for the Commonwealth.
“All of us here are very grateful for the service she has given and the way she has served as head of state – with dignity, devotion and a deeply rooted faith.”

There were all types of figures all over that carriage. I saw a little cupid type figure at the very top of the roof. There were gargoyle type faces around the perimeter. Even what looked like Seahorses.

…For the royal family’s actual celebration, she’ll likely only have eyes for a rich, boozy fruitcake that took three months to design and make by a master baker with deep ties to the royal family. After all, the queen loves her sweets.
Mark Bennett is the man behind the actual Platinum Jubilee cake, which is decked out, per the Daily Echo, with “crests, corgis, horses, the Commonwealth flag, Union Jack, Westminster Abbey, flowers, and racing pigeons.” In short, nearly everything that matters to the queen is present on the cake.
Bennett outlined what sounded like a laborious process, saying, “I spoke with the household and they said ‘yes’ straight away … It was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t believe it. I’m a big royalist so it has been an honour to bake the cake,” before adding, “I worked with the master of the household and did several Teams calls back and forth. I came up with a design and sent it off to them. They would then come back to me with ideas. We never met face to face.”
Bennett also said that the instructions were clear. The royal family wanted a dessert that, by its nature, was “traditional.” “They wanted lots of things that depicted Her Majesty’s life over 70 years.
The cake, which is white — a color that represents new beginnings and purity — overall, is adorned with silver accessories from top to bottom, as well as various sigils that are important to the queen.

I know this brooch is supposed to be a bow. But, to me, it appears to be something more sinister. It looks to me like a spider.

One is in the Royal Crown and one is in the Scepter. This is the fifth piece. I did not find anything on where the other two went.
So we see that on every outfit of the weekend the Queen wore diamonds. Lots of diamonds along with her pearls…lots of pearls. I believe that this symbolizes that Britain Rules on land and see. As diamonds are the most precious gems on land and pearls are the most precious gems of the sea.
She wore a new hat covered in the same vibrant green fabric as her coat with slightly flared, domed crown and short brim. The hat is trimmed with a black stripe around the brim, a green hatband wrapped around the base of the crown, a Celtic knot and a black pompom pin. Source
The Black DOT – I just can’t help but wonder why in the world they stuck that black dot in the middle of her head? For them to arbitrarily add it to the outfit makes no sense. It looks to me like a bullseye… a bullet hole? Is she marked for assassination? What on earth were they thinking or trying to convey. It makes no sense to me for it to be there. Though the hat is described as having a black stripe around the brim, if it is there, it is not visible. So, the dot has no reference.
As I was working on finishing up this post, I came across this image of the Queen performing the ritual of the beacon lighting. I noticed something I had not seen before. She is carrying a purse, a black purse. Why, I wondered would she be carrying a purse? She has come out just to light the thing. She has been struggling with mobility. Their was a young man, prepared to assist her when she became unstable. You know she is not going to go scrounging through her purse for a kleenex in public. So, why on earth would she want a purse on her arm? I decided that it was for the purpose of bringing the color black into the ritual. Which would also be the reason for the dot on her hat.

Some believe that the Celtic Cross was introduced by St. Patrick. I find that interesting because they happened to “Officially” state that the dress the Queen wore to the Trooping was St Patrick Blue.
By exact definition, an Irish Cross or Celtic Cross has to have four semi-circles cut away at the four points where the horizontal and vertical beams meet. Like with many of the other Celtic knots, it has no beginning or end, and it makes for a symbol of eternal and immortality.

Every single choice that is made when the public is watching, is made very deliberately and considered very carefully. Pearls are the gems of the ocean and diamonds are the premiere gem of the land. Thus the Queen’s jewelry choices represent Her rule over land and sea.
White Gloves White Glove Symbolism Gloves, first and foremost, are the representation of the hand, as they are created to conceal and protect the human hands. When made in white color and soft linen, the glove is the symbolism of cleanliness and purity. In the medieval era, wearing white gloves presented a sense of honor and luxury.

I suggest that it is possible that the Queen always wears gloves and usually a hat is because she wants to avoid any accidental revelation of the manifestation of her Lizard demon. I understand that most people who have these demonic beings living in them are not able to control them when they want to manifest. Now, I would like to take a deeper look at the grounds where the rituals took place.
The Queen Victoria Memorial is located in front of Buckingham Palace and comprises the Dominion Gates (Canada Gate, Australia Gate and South and West Africa Gates), the Memorial Gardens and a vast central monument commemorating the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
The monument is 25 metres (82 feet high) high and uses 2,300 tonnes of white Carrara marble. As well as the golden statue of Victoria, there are statues representing courage, constancy, victory, charity, truth and motherhood aka the Angels of TRUTH.
The central monument, created between 1906 and 1924, is by Sir Thomas Brock, but the whole design, including the Memorial Gardens, was conceived by Sir Aston Webb. The Memorial was formally unveiled by King George V in 1911.
The gates, piers, balustrades and retaining walls of the Memorial Gardens are all protected landmarks.
Queen Victoria, the longest reigning monarch in British history (63 years, seven months and two days; known as the Victorian Age). The Memorial stands in the centre of the Queen’s Gardens in front of Buckingham Palace. From the steps of the Victoria Memorial you get a great view along The Mall to Admiralty Arch at the other end. Apart from Buckingham Palace, the memorial is surrounded by both Green Park and St. James Park.
(So, there is an arch on the property as well. Arches are very important in the spirit realm. They are a link, between the seen and the unseen. A portal for spirits to enter and leave.)
The Victoria Memorial was built in the time when Rule Britania was a reality, and follows a nautical theme. The memorial, is a combination of a central statue made by Sir Thomas Brock, surrounded by an area designed by Sir Aston Webb.
The Victoria Memorial contains a large 4m statue of Queen Victoria seated on a throne facing down the Mall towards Admiralty Arch as shown in this picture. (So there is a statue of Queen Victory as well as the statue of the goddess VICTORY!) The throne and plinth she is sat on forms part of a square pillar or column supporting a bronze winged ‘Victory’ on the top. The two seated figures beside the Victory were donated by New Zealand. Plinths on the other tree faces of this central column support white marble statues of 3 angels representing the traditional Victorian values of Justice, Truth and Charity. Near the base of, and emerging from, this column 4 boats representing Britain’s rule over the oceans.
The Victoria Memorial surround is a walled area with steps up to the centre from both the Mall side and opposite on the side that faced Buckingham Palace (and is a good place to photograph the Palace). Bronze lions and men with torches guard either side of these stairways. The surround also includes large fountain basins which join the opposing stairways around either side of the fountain. At the midpoint of each wall above the fountain basins are further bronze figures. Source
Immediately below you see the site of the events in daylight. In this photo you can clearly see that the site looks a lot like the Vatican. It is shaped like a key hole, in the center is a circle representing the vagina, a tower representing the phallus a top of which is the Fallen Angel/goddess of Victory.
Please look closely. You will see the figure of the goddess VICTORY atop the tower. She appears to stand higher than the CASTLE! If that is true it means that spirit rules the land.

The very next image they showed is the one below. That phallus sticking up had lights that were flowing and changing from blue to red to violet/purple. It is standing in a circle, along the river. Notice the two violet/purple PILLARS at the bridge.

Now it may seem to you that I am just seeing things everywhere because I want to. YOU are so wrong. I want to get this post finished… But, God keeps showing me more and more. As an emblem of power the lion is strong and having a fighting spirit, it overcomes competition.
The lion is seen on currency and banking logos. The lion is the king of all animals. To receve the “Lion’s share” means to get more than anyone else.
The fact that they’re nocturnal creatures means that the lions symbolize authority and command over the unconscious mind.

It is no wonder, as they are coordinated with the platinum (Water/West), diamond (Earth/North), gold (Fire/South) and silver (Air/East) elements, representing the monarch’s four jubilees. (just my guesses)

I was curious. Not knowing much about the “Commonwealth of Nations” and hearing that there were 54 nation members, I decided to look it up. Though there is the European Union to which the UK has been back and forth on membership, the Commonwealth is not affected because the member nations are mostly islands of the sea. Which I found very interesting.

As the rival campaigns on the UK’s membership of the European Union begin to take shape, there’s another inter-governmental political battle getting underway this year that must not be allowed to fall off the foreign policy agenda. November 2015 will see leaders from the 53 countries which form the Commonwealth of Nations meet in Malta, where their business will include the election of a new Secretary-General for the 2016-2020 term.
A 2011 report by one of its own panels pointed to its declining relevance, not least given its lack of formal powers to challenge members over human rights violations; the report and its recommendations were then significantly downplayed, to international condemnation.
This is a sad state of affairs given the important role played by the Commonwealth in the past, such as in facilitating an international consensus against apartheid. If it continues on its current path, it is not impossible to imagine that the Commonwealth might no longer exist in ten years’ time. This at a time when co-operation between nations is both more necessary, and in theory more realistic than ever, given our more globalised economy, politics and communications.
