NONE OF US knows how much time is left. All the signs point to a very near end of all things. Knowing this, would it not be prudent to take stock of ourselves. Time to look seriously at what we believe and why we believe it. This is not a time to let someone else drive. You can’t count on ANYONE ELSE to do your thinking for you. It is time to get a clear head and seek out the truth for yourself. There are so many resources at our fingertips. This is a double edged sword. There are so many voices and they are not all telling the truth. It is our own personal responsibility to sort things out and discover the TRUTH. There are not many truths or many paths. There is one truth. There is only one who can lead you to it. At this time of Pentecost, I strongly urge you to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is promised to lead us to ALL TRUTH.

“‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? The wise will be put to shame;they will be dismayed and trapped.
Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have? Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit.
So the “illumined” “wise” men were already corrupting the Word of GOD for their own gain way back in the beginning. Why should you be shocked and in disbelief that our leaders both the worldly leaders and our so called Pastors and Teachers would lie to us now for the same reasons? If they did all that way back then when eerything was new and they were closer to the creation, what do you think we can expect now, when the earth has been totally corrupted and they know the end is near?

Mankind has been afraid to hear GOD for themselves. They are afraid of His voice and His presence. Why, because they are sinners. The presence of GOD reveals our sin. NO ONE can stand in HIS presence without the blood of JESUS. But, you have no need to fear God’s voice or His presence, if you are truly baptized in water after you believed. IN FACT, it is vital that you HEAR GOD for yourself. The whole reason Jesus came was to remove the barrier between us and the Father. FELLOWSHIP and Communication between US and the Father was the GOAL. The Father LOVES each and every one of us. He desires to interact with us individually, to express His love to each one of us. You don’t want to miss all that GOD wants to do in your life. The only way for you to reach your full potential and discover His plan for your life, is to commune with HIM.

Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees | United Church of God
“Leaven of the Pharisees”—it’s a curious phrase. Why did Christ feel compelled to warn His disciples to avoid it? Would you recognize this “leavening” if you saw it today? The answer to these questions is important, not just for the Passover season, but throughout the year.
What is this “leaven of the Pharisees”? You will find a direct answer in Luke 12:1. “In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, ‘Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.’” Hypocrisy is here described as the leaven of the Pharisees, but as we will see later, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Hypocrisy Defined
“Hypocrite” comes from the Greek word hupokrites and refers to someone who is acting, pretending. It was the custom of Greek and Roman stage actors to speak in large masks with mechanical devices for augmenting the force of the voice. These actors, concealing their real faces and changing their real voices, were called hupokrites, or hypocrites.
Jesus likened the conduct of the Pharisees to actors—men pretending, playing a role. The Pharisees of Christ’s day were a powerful leadership body who claimed to be more zealous and more righteous than the rest of Jewish society. They set themselves up as models of what was right and godly, yet in Christ’s eyes their example was actually destructive…
Doctrine and Hypocrisy
The clearest connection between the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and their doctrine is seen in Mark 7:1-9, where the Pharisees complained about the disciples eating with unwashed hands. It should be understood that the traditions, or rulings, passed down generation to generation by the wise men of the Pharisaical persuasion took on the power of law. To the mind of a Pharisee the sayings of their elders were as binding as the Scriptures.In fact Christ implies they were even seen as more binding than the law of God if the two came into conflict. To Christ this was hypocritical. How can a body of men who claim to be the most righteous observers of the law of God create traditions that nullify the law of God and still claim righteousness? This didn’t make sense. Christ saw their doctrines, in this case, as hypocritical.
As we continue in Mark 7, we can see the conflict. The Pharisees came to Christ and challenged, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the traditions of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?” (Mark 7:5). Christ responded, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and in vain they worship Me teaching as doctrines the commandments of men’” (Mark 7:6-7).
Christ continued His rebuke in Mark 7:8-13, giving examples of traditions passed down by the elders that directly contravened the law of God. His final summation was that in many areas of advice, ruling and even law they had put aside the law of God preferring their traditions instead. To Christ this was hypocritical of a body that claimed superior righteousness since the laws of God are righteousness (Psalms 119:172).
Modern Illustration
The conflict between the traditions of the elders and the law was not just a circumstance of Christ’s day. The Pharisees of Christ’s day were in effect the predecessors of the rabbinical system that came to power after the destruction of the temple. Following the banning of Jews from the Jerusalem area, the rabbinical schools moved north to the shores of the Sea of Galilee and there created the basis for modern Judaism. The system of teaching based upon tradition has continued since that time.

The guy or guys with power (nikos) often change Christianity into an organizational system of rules. They tell Christians that their relationship with God is through the organizational system and that is primarily following the rules. This is what was happening in Galatia and why so many Christians end up like the Pharisees.

In his edition of Irenaeus’ Libros quinque adversus haereses (Five Books Against Heresies), W. Wigan Harvey states:
The Nicolaitans taught the complete indifference of human actions in a moral point of view. … Another hateful feature of this heresy was the assertion, that in times of persecution, principle might be ignored, and conformity rendered to mysteries however abominable, and rites however impure.
“Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task, whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” The proposal was acceptable to the whole community, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and the holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

-Revelation 2:5-6 (HCSB)We find that in the book of Revelation churches were being rebuked for their stance on the Nicolaitans. But what did the Nicolaitans teach that was so bad? While today’s article will not be a long one it will be an enlightening one, a nugget of truth. You see their teachings still exist today and are very prevalent.
Our culture has become one of permissiveness, and it has crept into our churches. We no longer consider it proper and right to stand for moral fortitude.No, we don’t even address issues of living together and sinning anymore (not all churches, but quite a few). I can name a few churches who won’t say that abortion is wrong, or that it is right; they will just overlook it. Many churches don’t even address people who call themselves Christians but are living together, unmarried. While I am not a legalist (by any stretch of the imagination) these basic issues should be addressed from pulpits across America. What has happened to the church?
The church has fallen into the errors of Balaam-ism and that of the Nicolaitans. According to M.R. DeHaan in his book “Studies in Revelation” he states that these two errors go together. Balaam-ism is the rise of permissiveness. But how did that happen? Because of the error of the Nicolaitans.The Nicolaitans brought about a kind of hierarchical clergy which brings about a disconnect between the people and those called to minister to God’s people. Unfortunately the Nicolaitans wanted to have power and the way they grabbed that power was to make people religious slaves. They became dictators over people’s lives instead of shepherds. They lusted for power and it is because of their line of thinking that we get the rise of the clergy in the “middle ages.”

We read of Balaam in Numbers 22-24. Balak, King of Moab, had solicited Balaam to curse the children of Israel who were preparing to cross over into the promised land. But God intervened. Every time Balaam spoke, words of blessing came forth. Moved by greed for the reward Balak offered him, Balaam advised Balak that Moabite women should seduce the men of Israel by inviting them to partake in their idolatrous feasts (which invariably led to sexual immorality). Balaam knew that this would provoke the judgment of God against his people (which is precisely what happened).
What Balaam was to the children of Israel in the Old Testament, the Nicolaitans were to the church of Jesus Christ in the New. Balaam is a prototype of those who promote compromise with the world in idolatry and immorality (see also Jude 11 and 2 Peter 2:15). The Nicolaitans had dared to insinuate that freedom in Christ granted them a blank check to sin. The fault of the Pergamemes was not so much that they had followed this pernicious teaching but that they had allowed it be vocalized in the congregation. This matter of indifference to the licentiousness of the Nicolaitans was of grave concern to the risen Lord.
Steve Gregg views the teaching of the Nicolaitans as a forerunner to second-century gnosticism:
Whether those in Pergamos were teaching false doctrine for pay [as Balaam did], or simply teaching false doctrine, we do not know. What is evident is that sexual immorality and compromise with idolatry were being tolerated and even advocated by some in the church. In the second century, these same issues would be principal features of the Gnostic heretics (p. 69)….
The Christians in Pergamum had sacrificed the ethical purity of their congregation on the altar of “love” and for the sake of some nebulous “peace” they feared to lose. Purity often comes at an extremely high price. But we must be prepared to pay it. Confrontation is never pleasant, but it often reaps a bountiful harvest. By all means, pursue love, but not at the expense of truth or in such a way that overt sin is left to fester and spread in the body of Christ (Source: Sam Storms).

The purpose of this debate is to prove that modern christianity is really the Nicolaitan cult. It was said in Revelation that Jesus hates the Nicolaitans, so I think it’s important to recognize who they are.
One of Alexander the Great’s generals by the name of Seleucus I Nicator created the city of Antioch in the 4th century BC. This generals’s name (Nicator) is interesting because it’s etymologically derived from the greek work nike, which means victory. So in english, this general’s name was really “Seleucus the Victor”.
Fast forward to the 1st century AD and the apostles are complaining in Acts 6 that they’re tired of looking after the widows and that their time is better spent preaching the gospel, so they nominated seven men to take over these duties. One of the men was Nicolas and he was from Antioch. I think it’s safe to assume he was to return to his city to look at the widows there, as opposed to sending him to someplace else he’s never been before. His name is interesting because it’s etymologically from the greek word nike as well. His name is english means “victory to the people”. He is generally recognized as the founder of the nicolaitan cult.
It’s not too much later in Acts 11:26 that the people in Antioch start calling themselves christians. The timing and the city can’t simply be a coincidence. It was Nicolas that was watching over Antioch and the people calling themselves christians were the people he was watching over.
As further evidence of this reaching into today we have Santa Claus. Santa obviously is the word for saint and Claus is the german word for Nicolus. This is why Santa Claus is also know as Saint Nicolus. This Nicolus is a 4th century zealot that was present at the Council of Nicea, which is the defining establishment of modern christianity. It should be obvious at this point that both Santa Claus and Saint Nicolus both are etymologically tied to the word nike.
Everything about Antioch and christianity is tied to this word nike. This is also the word for the greek goddess Nike. If christians today are really worshiping the goddess Nike, then what should be expect to see?
Well Nike was called victory because she was victorious in war. It would be essential that they follow a war-like system of serving their god.
Next, Nike is symbolized by the greeks with a wreath. This is the same wreath that christians hang on their doors at christmas while they honor Saint NiColus and by extension Nike. This wreath can also be seen in the United Nations symbol and it can be seen in the hand of the statue to Nike on top of the US capital building. The later statue is officially called “freedom”, but there is no goddess freedom, so the wreath signifies it to be Nike.
TL;DR: The modern christians worship the goddess Nike as it emerged from Antioch and is symbolized today by Santa Claus.
What are doctrines of demons in 1 Timothy 4:1
In many places, Scripture warns us against false doctrine. One such place is 1 Timothy 4:1: “The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons” (NASB). The KJV words it as “seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons.” A doctrine is a teaching or a set of principles. The “doctrines of demons,” then, are things that demons teach.
There can be good and bad doctrines. The word doctrine can refer to the biblical teachings of a church or a pastor. Or, in the case of 1 Timothy 4:1, the ungodly teachings of Satan. Those who follow the doctrines of demons “will fall away from the faith.” That is, heeding the doctrine of demons is a serious matter because it involves a departure from the truth of Christ’s gospel.
How are the doctrines of demons promulgated? They are delivered through human instructors: “Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2). These false teachers are hypocritical; that is, their lives do not evidence the holiness they seemingly espouse. They are liars; that is, they deal in falsehood and knowingly lead others into apostasy. And they are beyond the reach of conscience; that is, they have found a way, in their own minds, to justify their lies. These false teachers may be personable, charming, and persuasive, but they do not receive their message from the Holy Spirit; rather, they spout the suggestions of evil spirits, whose work it is to lead people astray.
What exactly are the doctrines of demons? The immediate context gives an idea of the teachings to look out for: “They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer” (1 Timothy 4:2–5). According to this passage, we should not follow any person or group that forbids marriage or that places restrictions on certain foods. Any person or group that says holiness comes through a select diet or complete sexual abstinence is lying.
In the Garden of Eden, Eve encountered the doctrines of demons as the serpent spoke to her: “He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?’” (Genesis 3:1). At the beginning of the conversation, Satan questioned the teaching of God, and, as they continued to talk, he substituted his own teaching for God’s. Satan has continued to use deception, doubt, and subtlety to lead people astray. Satan is the father of lies and a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44), and the doctrines taught by his demons through the agency of willing human accomplices continue to separate people from God and His blessing.
Satan knows how to manipulate us, and that is why the doctrines of demons are so effective. We can identify the doctrines of demons by immersing ourselves in the truth. We must read and study our Bibles. When we know what God says on any given subject, then any deviation from that teaching will send up a red flag. When we are in tune with God’s Word, aberrations from that keynote will ring hollow and off-key.
A doctrine is a teaching or a set of principles. The “doctrines of demons,” then, are things that demons teach. There can be good and bad doctrines. The word doctrine can refer to the biblical teachings of a church or a pastor.

Doctrines Of Demons DO Exist!
A glaring example of doctrines of demons is eternal security — the belief that backsliders remain saved in their vile wickedness. It’s chilling to consider the capabilities of demons! Among other things, demons can perform miracles (Rev. 16:14) and devise seducing teachings, based on 1 Timothy 4. There is such a thing as a doctrine of demons:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (1 Tim 4:1, KJV)
WITHOUT QUESTION: True Grace Teaching Does NOT Allow The Sexually Immoral In Heaven
Since the devil can readily quote Scripture (Mt. 4:6), we should not think the doctrine of demons will be filled with apparent gaping holes that can be easily noticed with little or no effort! Also, the way Satan succeeded in verbally communicating his wishes for Job to curse God (Job 1:11; 2:5) through his wife (Job 2:9) is astounding! Even more astounding, though, is Satan actually spoke through Peter, one of the Lord’s chosen apostles (Mt. 16:22,23)! Should we, then, consider it ludicrous for any doctrine of demons to come through respected and popular teachers of our day? Most assuredly not! If there is only one thing we can all be sure of regarding the devil’s desires for us is, he only has our eternal harm in mind! He wants to see us all in hell. He is especially interested in destroying us spiritually and will move through people and/or circumstances to accomplish this! One of the best ways for him to do this is to downplay the ultimate danger of sin, while seemingly magnifying the cross, Jesus’ blood, etc. so as to not be easily detected. That is exactly what the doctrine of demons of eternal security does! By this I mean, eternal security teachers will readily preach against sin to some very limited degree — openly declaring the pain, shame and regret it brings with the loss of rewards, fellowship and one’s position in the kingdom. However, they will never declare the basic Biblical truth that such has the potential of keeping a person who was once saved out of the kingdom all together, in spite of the many clear Scriptures which show this possibility (Mt. 10:33; Lk. 8:13; Rom. 8:13; 11:20-22; Gal. 5:19-21; 6:8; James 5:19,20; Rev. 22:19; etc.)! We should not be surprised that large numbers of people are attracted to that type of message, which has been foretold:For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Tim 4:3,4)Hence, the popularity of the once saved always saved doctrine, though it is a doctrine of demons, has been predicted in the Bible! …
Those of us who know of the spiritual danger of eternal security should be openly speaking out against this pernicious doctrine of demons, which has to be adversely affecting multitudes in our day! It is time for true servants of God to clearly and boldly proclaim the truth of God! Souls hang in the balance. Precious SOULS are being misled into Hell through that doctrine of demons. We need clear voices openly refuting it! If you are a real Christian, what will you do to help remedy this horrible situation? Remember this: The eternal security teachers, with their incredible influence, won’t hesitate to continue to openly pour out their spiritually destructive myths over radio, tv and in their literature! For example, consider what Charles Stanley wrote:
The very gospel itself comes under attack when the eternal security of the believer is questioned. [Eternal Security: Can You Be Sure?, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1990, p.192, emphasis ours].
What an unbelievable statement! Charles Stanley associates a doctrine of demons and heresy to the gospel, which makes it another gospel! Yet, even worse, many believe it! Dear reader, God only knows how many people in your circle of influence are of that number and will be damned unless you do something! The time to act is now. People need to know the unrecognized heretics and the truth! It is HEALTHY for Christian people to fear being cut off (Rom. 11:20-22). The common myth that there is a guaranteed assurance of salvation to enter God’s kingdom is false! We must endure to the end to be saved, according to the Lord Jesus (Mt. 10:22). What happens after death for you depends on where you are spiritually at the point of death!
Here at Evangelical Outreach, we will openly stand against the doctrine of demons of once saved always saved (or eternal security), just as we will any other dangerous distortion of the gospel of grace in an effort to rescue souls from hell and please our Lord!
In conclusion: Does true grace teaching allow the sexually immoral in heaven? One group would answer No, the other Yes. One group is right, the other wrong! One is God’s truth, the other is the devil’s lie and a doctrine of demons! Remember too that this is an adulterous generation (Mk. 8:38) that urgently needs to know about the real grace we are under. Eternal destinies continue to hang in the balance! So is once saved always saved false? Without question — YES!
The Real Plan Of Salvation
Repentance towards God and faith in Christ Jesus (Acts 20:21). We prove our repentance by our deeds (Acts 26:20). The Lord Jesus taught the road to life is hard and only a few will find it (Mt. 7:13,14, NKJV). Many get saved, but afterwards fall away (Lk. 8:13; Jn. 6:66; 1 Tim. 1:19; etc.). In other words, after initial salvation we must endure to the end to enter the kingdom of God and escape eternal torment in the lake of fire (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11).
Eternal life comes to the repentant the moment such believe on Jesus for salvation (Jn. 3:16; 6:47; 1 Jn. 5:12,13), but there is another important aspect of eternal life that many are totally unware of in our day because of the false teaching and doctrine of demons of eternal security. According to true grace teaching, eternal life is also a hope (Titus 3:7), yet to be reaped (Gal. 6:8,9) in the age to come (Mk. 10:30) for only the ones who persist in doing good (Rom. 2:7) and do not grow weary and give up (Gal. 6:9).
If a saved person sows to please his sinful nature (flesh) he’ll die spiritually (Rom. 8:13; Gal. 6:8,9; James 5:19,20). The prodigal is a clear example of this (Lk. 15:24,32). Spiritual death can occur to a Christian, so do not be deceived (James 1:14-16)! You can be sure that a righteous person will die spiritually if he turns to evil (Ezek. 18:24; 33:18; etc.).
Because of once saved always saved false doctrine, grace has been taught as a license for immorality for so long, and without much challenge, that when Scripture is quoted to the contrary, such as 1 Cor. 6:9,10 or Rev. 21:8, it is disregarded, and the giver of God’s Word is falsely accused of teaching legalism, bondage, a works salvation, etc. This reflects how truly dark are the days in which we live! For your own soul’s sake, reject eternal security false doctrine.

Rapture Theology’s Ominous Origins

ByOrigins of the Rapture actually don’t go back that far, but farther than you may have been taught (if you were taught!).
First of all, the word ‘rapture’ is not even included in the Scriptures, and was unknown as a theology or a doctrine by the Church for well over 1,800 years. Where then did it come from and when did it begin?
Its origins are in the counter reformation move of Papal Rome in the 16th century after Martin Luther nailed his 95 thesis to the church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517. It is less well known that the pope at that time authorized three Jesuit Priests to reinterpret Daniel’s 70 weeks of prophecy; the Book of Revelation; and Ezekiel. The goal of these Jesuits was to take the heat of the reformation away from the papacy and the protestant association of the Anti-Christ with the pope. The three Jesuits were:
- Francisco Ribera (1537-1591) of Salamanca,
- Luis de Alcazar (1554-1621) of Seville, and
- Cardinal Roberto Bellarmine (1542-1621).
The doctrine – called futurism – which would later become ‘the rapture’ originated and was submitted by Francisco Ribera in 1585. His Apocalyptic Commentary was on the grand points of Babylon and the Anti-Christ which are now known as the rapture doctrine. Ribera’s published work was called “In Sacram Beati Ionnis Apostoli & Evangelistate Apocoalypsin Commentari” (Lugduni 1593). You can still find these writings in the Bodleian Library in Oxford England. The work was considered flawed and faulty, and was ordered buried in the Church archives, out of sight, by the pope himself.
Unfortunately, over 200 years later a librarian to the Archbishop of Canterbury by the name of S. R. Maitland (1792-1866) was appointed to be the Keeper of the Manuscripts at Lambeth Palace, in London, England. In his duties, Dr. Maitland came across Francisco Ribera’s rapture theology and he had it republished for the sake of interest in early 1826 with follow ups in 1829 and 1830.

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) (A Leader of the Plymouth Brethren) became a follower of S.R. Maitland’s prophetic endeavors and was persuaded. Darby’s influence in the seminaries of Europe combined with 7 tours of the United States changed the eschatological view of the ministers which had the trickle down effect into the churches.
Another contributor to the rapture ideology came through Emmanuel Lacunza (1731-1801), a Jesuit priest from Chile. Lacunza wrote the “Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty” around 1791. It was later published in London in 1827. The book was attributed to a fictitious author name Rabbi Juan Josafat BenEzra.
Edward Irving (1792-1834) contended that it was the work of a converted Jew and proved that even the Jewish scholars embraced a pre-tribulation rapture line of thought. It wasn’t long until he had persuaded others to follow his line of thought which gave birth to the Irvingites. However, when chaotic disturbances arose in Irving’s services during the manifestations of these “gifts”, the Church of Scotland took action, dismissing Irving from his position as minister in 1832.
In 1830 during one of Irving’s sessions before his dismissal, a young Scottish girl, named Margaret MacDonald, fell into a trance. After several hours of “vision” and “prophesying” she revealed that Christ’s return would occur in two phases, not just one. Christ would first come visibly to only the righteous, then He would come a second time to execute wrath on the unrighteous in the nations. This rapture was promoted by Irving claiming he, too, had heard a voice from heaven commanding him to teach it. In March 1830, in Port Glasgow, Scotland, 15 year old Margaret McDonald made claim of her visions. Robert Norton published Margaret’s visions and prophecies in a book entitled, “The Restoration of Apostles and Prophets in the Catholic Apostolic Church” (London, 1861).

There is good evidence that John Nelson Darby, the father of modern dispensationalism, visited Margaret Macdonald in her home during her ecstatic episodes. He began to teach the rapture as a result, provided the idea with theological underpinings necessary for it to be considered legitimate, and his teachings were embraced by the Plymouth Brethren.
Darby’s teachings were embraced radically by Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (1843-1921). Scofield adopted Darby’s (Ribera’s) school of prophetic thought into the Scofield Reference Bible of 1909 which was heralded at that time as the “book of books”, and continues to legitimize this false teaching in the eyes of many protestants.
The natural evolution of this movement has resulted in the recent emergence of the “Toronto Blessing” (Laughing Spirit) phenomenon, a bizarre experience of uncontrollably ‘laughing in the Spirit.’
Although the modern day view of every believer being taken away in a rapture is different from all of the thoughts that came before it, there is little doubt to it’s error.
- Lacunza asserted that only those believers that partake of the sacrament of the Eucharist would be raptured;
- Margaret McDonald said the rapture would only take those that were filled with the Holy Spirit; and
- Norton claimed that only those that had been sealed with the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands would be raptured.
As you might imagine, confusion ensued.
Today’s common belief among believers in the rapture is that only ‘true believers’ will be raptured – a form of the invisible Church teaching so common to protestant ecclesiologies. Belief in the rapture has become so widespread among today’s “evangelicals” and “fundamentalists” that many sitting in the pews assume that the teaching dates back to the apostles themselves.
The Rapture as a topic has been a big money maker. The Left Behind series of 16 books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, dealing with Christian dispensationalist End Times and focus, not surprisingly, on the Rapture. The series was first published 1995-2007 by Tyndale House, a firm with a history of interest in dispensationalism. This series has been adapted into three action thriller films, and three PC video games.
Of course, Harold Camping who has also profited greatly from his teachings on the Rapture, is not the first false prophet to set a date for the Rapture, nor will he be the last. He declared previously that the Rapture would take place on September 6, 1994.
Regardless of whom one regards as the originator of the teaching — whether Ribera, Lacunza, Irving, Darby, or Margaret MacDonald – one thing is obvious; the “rapture” theory is of recent heterodox origin, has no basis in Scripture, the Fathers, is mentioned nowhere in antiquity, nor was it ever a teaching of the Christ, or His Apostles.
It is not now, nor has ever been, an Orthodox Christian teaching – and that is saying something.

Let us initiate this study with the words of one of today’s most prolific and anointed writers, J. Preston Eby. Without his diligent research of these long forgotten facts, the expose of the Rapture’s Origin would be incomplete, to say the least. He writes: “It wasn’t until the early or mid 1800’s that there was any significant group of believers around the world that looked for a “rapture” of the Church prior to a seven-year tribulation period [Editor: actually 3.5 years]. It may come as a shock to some who read these lines, but it is a fact, nonetheless, that the “rapture” teaching was not taught by the early Church, it was not taught by Church of the first centuries, it was not taught by the Reformers, it was not taught by anyone (except a couple of Roman Catholic theologians) until about the year 1830. At the time of the Reformation, the early Protestants widely held and were convinced the Pope was the supreme individual embodiment and personification of the spirit of antichrist, and the Roman Church, the Harlot System of Revelation seventeen. This understanding was responsible for bringing millions of believers out of the Roman Catholic religious system. It therefore became expedient for certain Romish theologians to turn the attention of the people away from the Papacy, and this they endeavored to do by inventing a counter-interpretation to that held by the Protestants. This new scheme of prophetic interpretation became known as futurism. Rather than viewing the drama of the book of Revelation spiritually and historically, they would consign it all to a brief period of time at the end of the age. It was a Jesuit priest named Ribera who, in the days of the Reformation, first taught that all the events in the book of Revelation were to take place literally during the three and a half years reign of the antichrist way down at the end of the age. Thus, Ribera laid the foundation of a system of prophetic interpretation of which the secret rapture has now become an integral part.
“Later, Emmanuel Lacunza, also a Jesuit priest, built on Ribera’s teachings, and spent much of his life writing a book titled “The Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty.” Lacunza, however, wrote under the assumed name of Rabbi Ben Ezra, supposedly a learned Jew who had accepted Christ as his Saviour. With Jesuit cunning, he thus conspired to get his book a hearing in the Protestant world (they would not even permit it in their homes coming from a Jesuit pen) but as the earnest work of the “converted Jew,” they would consume it with avid interest! Within the pages of this elaborate forgery, Lacunza taught the novel notion that Jesus returns not once, but twice, and at the “first stage” of His return He “raptures” His Church so they can escape the reign of the “future antichrist.” His book was first published in Spanish in the 1812 and soon found its way onto the shelves of the library of the Archbishop of Canterbury in London, England.
“Now, enter the name of Edward Irving. Born in Scotland in 1792, Irving became one of the most eloquent preachers of his time, and a leading figure of the Catholic Apostolic Church of England. In 1828 his open-air meetings in Scotland drew crowds of 10,000 people. His church in London seated one thousand people and was packed week after week with a congregation drawn from the most brilliant and influential circles of society. There were some among them who by prophetic declaration announced that the Lord was coming soon, and this idea became prominent in their prophetic utterances and teachings. Out of those prophetic declarations some began to study the scriptures in the light of a physical, literal coming of the Lord. Up until that time the coming of the Lord was understood as coming of the Lord TO His people, and IN His saints, and there was no sense of His fleshly coming. Irving discovered Lacunza’s book and was deeply shaken by it, in fact, fell in love with it, translated it into English, and it was published in London in 1827. At this time Irving heard what he believed to be a voice from heaven commanding him to preach the Secret Rapture of the Saints. Irving then began to hold Bible conferences throughout Scotland, Emphasizing the coming of Jesus to rapture His Church.
“About this same time there began the emergence of a new movement which came to be known as the Plymouth Brethren. The Brethren movement had its beginning in Dublin in 1825 when a small group of earnest men, dissatisfied with the lethargic condition that prevailed in the Protestant Church in Ireland, met for prayer and fellowship. Soon others joined the fellowship and associated groups sprang up in various places. Though the movement had its beginning at Dublin, it was Plymouth, England that became the center of their vast literature outreach, thus the name Plymouth Brethren became attached. Although there was interest from the start in prophetic subjects, the center of interest was on the body of Christ as an organism and the spiritual unity of Christ of all believers, in reaction to the deadness of formalism of the organized church systems and the ecclesiastical hierarchy. A man by the name of John Nelson Darby was the leading spirit among the Plymouth Brethren from 1830 onward. Darby was from a prosperous Irish family, was educated as a lawyer, took high honors at Dublin University, then turned aside, to his father’s chagrin, to become a minister.
“Thus Irving and Darby were contemporaries, though associated with different spiritual movements. Another series of meetings were in progress at this time. A group of seeking Christians were meeting in the castle of Lady Powerscourt for the study of Bible prophecy. Many clergymen attended, and quite a few who were Irvingites. The Irvingites came to the meetings obsessed with the ideas of the “Secret Rapture” and the “future antichrist,” imbibed from the Jesuit teaching of the Secret Rapture and the futurist interpretation of prophecy, as well as the famous book by Rabbi Ben-Ezra, or, actually, Jesuit priest Emmanuel Lacunza! Darby was himself a prolific writer and from the time a constant stream of propaganda came from his pen. His writings on biblical subjects number over 30 volumes of 600 pages each. Darby developed and organized “futurism” into a system of prophetic teaching called “dispensationalism.” Darby’s biographers refer to him as “the father of dispensationalism.” And the crown jewel in the kingdom of dispensationalism is, of course, the so-called SECRET RAPTURE!
“The Secret Rapture teaching was introduced into the United States and Canada in the 1860’s and 1870’s though there is some indication that it may have been taught as early as the 1840’s. Darby himself visited the United States six times. The new teaching was spreading. A Congregationalist preacher by the name of C.I. Scofield came under the influence of Darby and the Plymouth Brethren. The Scofield Reference Bible was destined to have a tremendous impact upon the beliefs of may, when, three million copies were published in the first 50 years. Through this Bible, Scofield carried the teaching of the Secret Rapture into the very heart of evangelism. Some ignorant souls look on the notes in this Bible as the Word of God itself. I do not doubt for one instant that many who read these lines have been influenced somewhere in their spiritual lives by the footnotes in the Scofield Bible.
“There is one final link in the chain of the development and spread of the rapture theory that should be mentioned in passing. I would draw your attention again to the source, the origin, of the rapture doctrine and the chain of contact by which it has been brought down to this day. It began as a Roman Catholic invention. The Jesuit priest Ribera’s writings influenced the Jesuit priest Lacunza, Lacunza influenced Irving, Irving influenced Darby, Darby influenced Scofield, Scofield and Darby influenced D.L. Moody, and moody influenced the Pentecostal Movement. How? you ask. The Assemblies of God is today by far the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world. When the Pentecostal movement began at the turn of the century, and the Assemblies of God held their first general council in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, they were a small movement and didn’t have their own publishing house. They needed Sunday school and study materials for their churches, so where do you suppose they got it? They bought it from Moody Press and had their own cover stitched on it! So what do you think the Assemblies of God people believed? They believed what Moody Bible Institute taught! This had its impact on Pentecostal theology, because in the early years there were practically no pre-millenialists in the Pentecostal movement. Most of the ministers in those early days came from Presbyterian, Methodist, or other historic denominations; men who, being baptized in the Holy Spirit and leaving their denominations, joined themselves to the Assemblies of God or one of the other emerging Pentecostal denominations. That is how the Pentecostal movement became influenced and saturated with the “Secret Rapture” doctrine by a direct chain right back to THE ROMAN CHURCH.” —End quote–
MARGARET MACDONALD’S ACCOUNT
The doctrine of the “PRE-TRIB RAPTURE” can also be credited to what began in Port Glasgow, Scotland in 1830. A young Scottish lass named Margaret MacDonald had a revelation of the coming of the Lord before the great tribulation. Several noted Bible teachers of that day picked up on this thought, but it was Edward Irving and John Darby who were responsible for it being popularized in Scotland and England. It is said of Darby that he borrowed from Margaret MacDonald’s revelation, modified her views, and then taught them under his own name without giving her credit. He visited the U.S. at least five times, and his dispensationalism became part of the Scofield Reference Bible (1909), as quoted above. It was the notes in Scofield’s Bible that caused this new teaching to find favor in this country.

In this he writes concerning what he refers to as ‘Darbyism‘ and the influence which the teachings and doctrines of John Nelson Darby were having upon the Church. Its very interesting.

MR. GRANT HAS with very great diligence collected much valuable information as to that section of Plymouth Brethren who follow Mr. Darby.
As on all hands, with a diligence never exceeded, and a subtlety never equaled, they are laboring to seduce the members of our churches to the subversion of the truth and the overthrow of the needful order and discipline of our Zion, it may be well to disseminate information concerning their sentiments and tactics. There is nothing which they have so much to dread as being thoroughly unearthed and exposed; for their grosser errors are not generally made known to their dupes until they are fairly in their meshes. Mr. Grant has done real service to the churches by his treatise on “The heresies of the Plymouth Brethren,” which we trust he will publish in a separate form.
It is almost impossible for even his heavy hand to press too severely upon this malignant power, whose secret but rapid growth is among the darkest signs of the times. Our large extracts are meant to stimulate a desire for the entire work.
On their errors, Mr. Grant says:—
Mr. Darby maintains that a part of Christ’s sufferings on the cross, were what he calls ‘non-atoning,’ that is, that in ‘smiting’ him as the shepherd on the cross, God did not do so with a view to an atonement for our sins, until a particular point of time, while Christ was hanging on the tree, and that then the wrath of God, in its atoning character, coalesced with his legal wrath.
In association with the doctrine that much of the sufferings of Christ on the cross were without any atoning object or effect, Mr. Darby, advancing a step farther, denies that the atonement for our sins consisted even in Christ’s death. But as it is probable some persons will find it difficult to believe that any man, professing to hold evangelical principles, and especially the leader of an important religious sect, also professing to be sound in the faith, could entertain such notions, and that I must have misunderstood Mr. Darby’s meaning—it is due to him, and may be desirable for the reader, that I should quote his own words. They are given, in substance the same as in his monthly organ, ‘The Present Testimony,’ for August, 1866, a later date than that in which his other publication, ‘The Sufferings of Christ,‘ made its appearance, and, therefore, notwithstanding all the remonstrances addressed to him by some of his followers against that dreadful doctrine, they are proved to have been without effect. He then stands before the religious world as still adhering to these fearful doctrines:—
‘There was, too, to him,’ says Mr. Darby, ‘in addition to the pain of the death, the legal curse appended, by God’s righteous judgment as King of Israel, to the form of the death; as it is written, ‘Cursed is every one that hangeth upon a tree.’ But this curse of the law was not the same thing as the wrath, when he cried out, ‘My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?’ The thieves bore it as he did; that thief, too, who went with him to paradise the same day, and who could go there to be with his Lord, because he, the Prince of Life, had borne the wrath due to sin in his own body on the tree. But the cross had been endured by many an unrepentant rebel against man and God; and the cross in itself would not take away sin. Yea, more, while the time in which he endured the cross was the period in part of which the wrath came on him (when he endured the wrath of God’s judgment against sin), he only of the three that were crucified together, could or did bear the wrath; and the agony of that wrath, if his alone of the three then and there crucified, was distinct from, though present to him at the same time as the agonies (infinitely lesser) of the cross of wood!’
The italics are not mine; they are those of the Rev. W. H. Dorman, who was for twenty-eight years the friend and admirer of Mr. Darby, and resigned the pastorship of a Congregational church in Islington to join his section of the Plymouth Brethren.

As to their modes of action and general spirit Mr. Grant writes largely, and we believe from correct data. Many facts which have come under our notice are confirmatory of Mr. Grant’s severe criticisms; we only hope none of our brother ministers may experimentally have so clear a revelation of the Darby spirit as has occurred to us. “Let me, then, first of all mention that, though as I have before stated, their numbers in London and the suburbs do not exceed 1,600, and their numbers throughout Great Britain do not exceed 20,000, they are so very active in their endeavors to make proselytes, and are so continually involved in controversies and quarrels among themselves, that they are more frequently before the public than sects of Christians who are more numerous.
The Plymouth Brethren, meaning the Darby section, are, indeed, at once the most active and most noisy sect of Christians of which we have any record in the annals of Christianity. (LOL!!)
They are first-rate tacticians. They have an intuitive perception as to who ‘among those who are without,’ to whom they have access, are likely to make the best ‘Brothers’ or ‘Sisters,’ and that conclusion come to, all their appliances are brought to bear upon them. And they are singularly happy as to the way in which they go about the work of proselytizing.
But before I proceed farther, I ought to remark that, with very few exceptions, the women are the great propagandists of Plymouth Brethrenism.
And, as a natural consequence, women are almost invariably the parties whom they seek to ‘convert.’ They are wise enough in their generation to know that if a man’s wife is got over, she will give her husband no rest until she has made a resolute effort to prevail on him to join the ‘gathering’ along with her. Of course, it will be understood that I do not mean it to be inferred that there are no exceptions to this, but I do say—and I speak with no small knowledge of the philosophy and history of Plymouth Brethrenism—that the exceptions are rare indeed. In fact, I will go so far as to affirm that it would be almost incompatible with Plymouth ‘Sisterdom’ not to be a zealous and unwearied laborer in the field of proselytism. It is as true of them as a body as it was of those women to whom Paul in his Second Epistle to Timothy alludes when he represents them as creeping into houses. Their favorite plan is to single out the best members of other evangelical churches, and endeavor to get them over; and when they have succeeded in inoculating them with Brethrenism, they are advised not at once to leave the church of which they are members, but to remain for a time, in the hope of being able to convince others of the error of their way in ‘sitting under such teachers.’
The new convert to Darbyism is carefully instructed as to the way in which he or she is to proceed. They are not to seem to obtrude their denominational views on those at whose ‘conversion’ they aim, but to appear deeply grieved that so few ‘excellent Christians’ see, because they have never been taught by their ministers, the whole truth; and that this is all the more to be deplored because if they—the parties addressed—saw the truth in all its blessedness and fullness ‘they would be able to teach others also.’

What I have said will give some idea of the stereotyped way in which the Plymouth Brethren proceed to work in their mission of seeking to make proselytes to Darbyism. Other plans, varying according to circumstances, are resorted to. No one outside their circle can have any idea of the zeal and ingenuity which they display in their endeavors to bring other Christians over to Darbyism. The words of our Lord may, in a sense, be applied to them—‘They would compass sea and land to make one proselyte.’
It matters not to them that, by going into churches or chapels in this way, in parts of the country where the minister, owing to the smallness of the number of his congregation, has the greatest difficulty imaginable to continue to maintain the Christian ministry. That does not cause them the slightest compunctious visiting, even though he may be a man eminent for his personal piety and his devotedness to the cause of Christ. The minister, with his wife and family, may he thrown destitute on the world. The minister’s heart, indeed, may be literally broken—still that will not cause them to experience a momentary pang.
No amount, indeed, of misery they may have brought on God’s faithful ministering servant will give them even a moment’s uneasiness. On the contrary, they will rejoice at the ruin they have wrought in breaking up a church, because believing they are thereby doing God service.
A Congregational minister in the country, writes to me on this matter as follows:
‘What the Plymouth Brethren have done in country towns no one but those who are intimate with the life of country churches can tell. There is no Congregational minister, either Baptist or Independent, who is not ready to denounce them as the greatest troublers of the peace of Israel since the days of Ahab. Much in these days is said about the Jesuits, but the Plymouth Brethren will compare with them, both in respect to stealthy slyness and persistent effort to make converts. There are always in every church a few disaffected spirits, who only need the voice of the tempter to make them cantankerous. These are so much tinder to the spark of the Plymouth Brethren’s tongue of fire, and straightway we have the following results:—The minister does not preach the gospel—the poor people are perishing for lack of food—another minister in the town cannot give it them; only let us get away from all this, and have no church, but just read the Bible for ourselves. A division ensues, and soon, instead of reading the Bible for themselves, one man gets the whole thing into his own hands, and another church is formed, virtually where there was to be no church and no minister.’
This witness is true, and his testimony will be endorsed by hundreds of other ministers of the gospel in the country, all, like him, speaking from what they have seen and felt. . . .
Plymouth Brethren have no feeling wherever their principles are concerned. I know indeed of no sect or denomination so utterly devoid of kindness of heart. It is the most selfish religious system with which I am acquainted. It is entirely wrapped up in itself.
It recognizes no other denomination, whether the Church of England, or either of the Nonconformist denominations, as a church of Christ. Mr. Darby has again and again said in print, as well as written in private, that those who belong to his party in the metropolis, constitute the only church of Christ in London. . . .
No one ever saw a Darbyite at any of our Bible, or Missionary, or other Evangelical Society meetings. The Brethren look upon all other denominations, however evangelical in sentiment, and however high their standard of personal religion, as so largely infected with error in doctrine, as well as wrong in relation to church government, that they believe it would be sinful to associate with them for the promotion of religious ends. And this conviction, which is never absent from their minds, naturally has the effect of puffing them up with spiritual pride. Believing that they alone of all religious bodies have attained to the knowledge of the truth, it could hardly be otherwise than that they should look down on every other Christian sect with supreme pity, mingled, even according to the admission of some of their own number, with contempt. . . .
With this feeling is naturally associated an amount of arrogance in the assertion of their own views, which those who differ from them often find to be unbearable. And in this respect their leader, Mr. Darby, sets them an example.
In his case it assumes the form of infallibility.
Mr. Darby is, to all intents and purposes a thorough Pope, though under a Protestant name. He will never admit that he is in error; and therefore very naturally declines to argue with those who controvert the soundness of his views. How, indeed, could it be otherwise?
If Mr. Darby holds, which he does, with a firm grasp, the principle that whatever conclusions he and those acting in conjunction with him may come to, express beyond all question the mind of the Spirit; and if those Darbyites who gather together in London, can go so far as to exclude all other denominations, even the most godly among them, ‘believing themselves to be the one or only, assembly of God in London,’ how need we feel surprised that Mr. Darby, as the ‘prophet, priest, and king’ of the party, should exercise a perfect despotism within the domains of Darbyism?. . .
I have before glanced, but barely glanced, at the intensely controversial spirit which is a universal characteristic of the Plymouth Brethren. I say universal, because though I know much of them personally, as well as through the testimony of others, I know not a single instance where this controversial spirit did not exist in greater or less force. It is not for me to say that there are no exceptions to this rule; but I do advisedly say, that I am unacquainted with any single case to the contrary. This controversial feeling, often degenerating into something resembling regular quarrels, is the chronic condition of Plymouth Brethrenism. They are in a state of constant antagonism with the Bethesda party;** and a minister of the gospel, who has seen much of them, seriously assures me that when they have no one of the opposite party to quarrel with, they will disagree among themselves. I can verify this statement, to a certain extent, from my own personal knowledge. . . . So great, indeed, is their disposition to engage in controversy, often ending in something like a quarrel, that it would be a thing quite new to see two of their number remain together for many minutes without a decided disagreement on some one point or other.
Their quarrels, too, occasionally acquire an intensity which bring them before the public.

Between four and five hundred Brethren were asked to come from all parts of the country to hold a conference together. The Darbyites and Bethesdaites were equally invited. Those who invited them did not mention for what special purpose they were to come. It was simply said it was desirable they should assemble together, and that the Holy Ghost would direct them as to what they should say and do when they met together. The expenses of the poorer Brethren were paid by some unknown and wealthy Brethren. It by-and-by transpired that the real purpose for which the Conference was called was to endeavor to bring about a reconciliation between the Darby and Bethesda sections of Brethrenism. The very idea was enough to plunge the Darbyites into a state of something more than indignation. Scenes of indescribable uproar, mingled with expressions of the very worst feelings, took place on each of the three days. And I am assured by one who was present, who does not belong to either the Darbyite or Bethesda section of the Brethren, that not only the prime, but the sole movers in these most unseemly scenes were the Darbyites. What the exhibitions were which occurred may be inferred from the fact that a lady who was present said she could have wept tears of blood at what she saw and heard; and a gentleman of education and social position, who also witnessed these lamentable scenes, remarked to me that it was enough to have made even angels weep. This may seem incredible, but it is nevertheless the fact.
But the saddest of all in connection with these deplorable scenes is that they are actually, in effect, represented as the results of the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
There is no principle which the Darbyites more firmly hold, or to which they give greater prominence in their ‘teaching,’ than this—that the Holy Ghost is with them in all their assemblies, and that whatever conclusions they come to are the result of his special guidance. . . .

Two Brands of Pre-Millenialism (dispensational or historic). This doctrine is used to refer specifically to those who adhere to the beliefs in an earthly millennial reign of Christ. It posits that a rapture, would come before (dispensational) or after (historic) the Great Tribulation preceding the Millennium.This eschatological system was developed in the nineteenth century, popularized by two lawyers turned Bible teachers, the Irish convert to the Brethren Movement, J.N. Darby, and the colorful American Congregationalist, C.I. Scofield. The popularity of Darby’s system is due largely to the popularity of the Scofield Reference Bible, first published in 1909. Despite the popularity of the Darby/Scofield system, it departs, in many respects, from the historical Christian understanding of eschatology, and is totally removed from the actual interpretation which is PRETERISM.
The entire Christian Zionist Movement is based on the Footnotes from the Scofield Bible. The Scofield Bible was financed by the House of Rothschild with the sole purpose of promoting the Zionist Agenda. The Rothschilds are not the Jews of the bible and do not practice Judaism. In 2003, 60 Minutes aired a segment about Alexandra Robbins, staff member at the New Yorker. Lord Moyne, the British Secretary of State in Cairo, in 1942 tried to interfere in Baron Edmond’s plan when he declared “the Jews were not the descendants of the ancient Hebrews and that they had no “legitimate claim” on the Holy Land. In favor of limiting Jewish immigration into Palestine, he was accused of being “an implacable enemy of Hebrew independence,” and on November 6, 1944 Lord Moyne was murdered by two members of the Stern Gang (Yitzhak Shamir’s group).

Rothschild Backed Zionist Jews (RBZJ) and a con artist Cyrus Scofield were used to change America and its religious orientation by the use of the Scofield Reference Bible from Oxford University Press.
Scofield, after being released from prison was introduced to Samuel Untermeyer, the President of the Koren Hayesod, and the Rothism movement in America.Untermeyer, an attorney, was instrumental in preparing the Federal Reserve Banking law in 1910, and the financing of Scofield’s Reference bible.
And who was Cyrus Scofield?
As a young con-artist in Kansas after the Civil War, he met up with John J. Ingalls, an aging Jewish lawyer who had been sent to Atchison by the “Secret Six” some thirty years before to work the Abolitionist cause. Pulling strings both in Kansas and with his compatriots back east, Ingalls assisted Scofield in gaining admission to the Bar, and procured his appointment as Federal Attorney for Kansas. Ingalls and Scofield became partners in a railroad scam which led to Cyrus serving time for criminal forgery.
While he was in prison, Scofield began studying the philosophy of John Darby, pioneer of the Plymouth Brethren movement and the “any moment now” rapture doctrine. Upon his release from prison, Scofield deserted his first wife, Leonteen Carry Scofield, and his two daughters Abigail and Helen, and he took as his mistress a young girl from the St. Louis Flower Mission. He later abandoned her for Helen van Ward, whom he eventually married. Following his Illuminati connections to New York, he settled in at the Lotus Club, which he listed as his residence for the next twenty years. It was here that he presented his ideas for a new Christian Bible concordance, and was taken under the wing of Samuel Untermeyer, who later became chairman of the American Jewish Committee, president of the American League of Jewish Patriots, and chairman of the Non-sectarian Anti-Nazi League.
Untermeyer introduced Scofield to numerous Zionist and socialist leaders, including Samuel Gompers, Fiorello LaGuardia, Abraham Straus, Bernard Baruch and Jacob Schiff. These were the people who financed Scofield’s research trips to Oxford and arranged the publication and distribution of his concordance.
It is impossible to overstate the influence of Cyrus Scofield on twentieth-century Christian beliefs. The Scofield Bible is the standard reference work in virtually all Christian ministries and divinity schools. It is singularly responsible for the Christian belief that the Hebrew Prophecies describe the kingdom of Jesus’ Second Coming, and not the Zionist vision of a man-made New World Order.

Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell weave Scofield’s “Jews” into Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”.
CHAOS AFTER THE “PEACE” CONFERENCE – Mrs. B.M. Palmer, a very competent writer in the United Kingdom, in an article published on January 13, 1940, said :

*ZIONISM 101 EXPLAINED*
The Zionist Elites had it in their plans to create a Jewish state in Israel, since at least the early 1900s. And Jews weren’t disenfranchised before coming to Israel. Most Jews were living side by side with Muslims and Christians in the region for hundreds of years just fine. Zionism is what really took over Palestine in 1947. Ever heard of the Balfour Declaration? If not, you might want to, because it’s the biggest piece to the whole puzzle! The Balfour Declaration of 1917 was a letter written by Arthur James Balfour, (British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) to Walter Rothschild, in essence saying that the British wanted to help form a Jewish State in Israel. This is what the short letter said below :
“His Majesty’s government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.” (end of Declaration)
Due to the large Jewish populace in Europe and the United States, the declaration became an international affair. For Palestinians, the Balfour Declaration was seen as their doomsday notice. They felt that they had been swept under the rug by Britain with the backing of all of Europe. David Lloyd George, who was Prime Minister at the time of the Balfour Declaration, told the Palestine Royal Commission in 1937 that the Declaration was made “due to propagandist reasons.” Citing the position of the Allied and Associated Powers in the ongoing war, Lloyd George said that (in the Report’s words) “In this critical situation it was believed that Jewish sympathy or the reverse would make a substantial difference one way or the other to the Allied cause. In particular Jewish sympathy would confirm the support of American Jewry, and would make it more difficult for Germany to reduce her military commitments and improve her economic position on the eastern front.” Lloyd George then said,
“The Zionist leaders gave us a definite promise that, if the Allies committed themselves to giving facilities for the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine, they would do their best to rally Jewish sentiment and support throughout the world to the Allied cause. They kept their word.”
Prime Minister David Lloyd George of the United Kingdom also supported the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine because “it would help secure post-war British control of Palestine, which was strategically important as a buffer to Egypt and the Suez Canal.”. All this was done for special British Interests, as well as Zionist interests. Not for the true interest of the Jewish people. This setup an environment where there would be perpetual conflict and war. It placed heavy burdens on everyone. It destroyed families and lives of many people. It continues even to this day.
Ahmadinejad was right, in regards to a solution for peace in Palestine (Israel). Firstly, he never said he wished to wipe Israel off the map (that doesn’t even make sense, since Iran has the number 2 highest population of Jews in the Middle East right behind Israel), (He most certainly did declare that. In truth the Arabs declare to this day, they are not interested in Peace, they want the destruction of Israel. The Arabs have broken every peace treaty they ever signed. The Arabs HATE Israel, and it goes back to Ishamel and Israel an their Father Abraham.) rather, he said that this Zionist regime occupying Israel would vanish from the pages of time. (BULLSHIT, that is not what he said.) Ahmadinejad actually said he wanted peace in Palestine (sure they say they want Peace, but that is just politics), and the only way that could happen is if there was a free and open referendum (vote) for Jews and Palestinians alike, to vote for new leaders and have a true democracy. I agree with him.
Also read the UN Partition Plan of 1947. They gave the Palestinians a raw deal, where the Jews were to obtain 56% of the land, including the most fertile land in Israel (Palestine), and give 44% of the other land to the Arabs and Palestinians (even though they outnumbered Jews by at least double). This caused civil war and rioting all over in Palestine. Finally, the Palestinians were kicked out of their own homes, and left for dead in the Gaza and West Bank. AND IT SHOULD BE NOTED, many of the Palestinians were CHRISTIANS. Over 400,000 Palestinian Christians were kicked out of their own land during the Partition. They felt betrayed by their brothers and sisters in Christ in Britain and America, because they supported all this. (Sadly, it is always the people who suffer, for the cruelty and brutality of the wealthy and the decisions that they make for the rest of us.)
The Faisal-Weizmann Agreement (1919) was preceded by 2 Agreements (one of which was secret), which clearly outlines that these plans were in the works even before the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and around the start of WW1 in 1914 (it’s my contention that both World Wars and even the Great Depression were instrumental in gaining worldwide sympathy and support for the Jews to return to Israel, as well as put the world monetary system into the hands of the Zionist Jews as well). (Certainly you have to understand that things like this do not happen overnight. It takes time for the changes to occur in our world. Do you TRUST that GOD is working? Do you TRUST that GOD is in control?)
The first was a set of letters exchanged between Sir Henry McMahon (British High Commissioner in Egypt) and Hussein bin Ali (Arab Leader) in 1915. Arab nation-states were already garnering their independence, and Hussein Ali (as king of the Hejaz – which was a strip of land or region squished between the Red Sea and Saudi Arabia, with Egypt to the West of the Red Sea) wanted independence from the Ottoman Empire as well. The British were in support of the Ottoman Empire, until the Ottomans pledged their allegiance to Germany in WW1. The Allies (France, Russia and Britain) via Sir Henry McMahon then offered Hussein certain parts of land and independence from the Ottoman Empire, if Hussein supported the Allies in WW1.
This letter below from McMahon to Hussein from 1915 declared Britain’s willingness to recognize the independence of the Arabs, subject to certain exemptions. READ BELOW:
“The districts of Mersina and Alexandretta, and portions of Syria lying to the west of the districts of Damascus, Homs, Hama and Aleppo, cannot be said to be purely Arab, and must on that account be excepted from the proposed limits and boundaries. With the above modification and without prejudice to our existing treaties concluded with Arab Chiefs, we accept these limits and boundaries, and in regard to the territories therein in which Great Britain is free to act without detriment to interests of her ally France, I am empowered in the name of the Government of Great Britain to give the following assurance and make the following reply to your letter: Subject to the above modifications, Great Britain is prepared to recognize and support the independence of the Arabs within the territories in the limits and boundaries proposed by the Sherif of Mecca.” (end)
This leads to the secret meeting known as the Sykes-Picot Agreement, in which the Allies (France, UK and Russia) outlined areas of the Ottoman Empire that each of them would possess, including areas that had been promised to Hussein and Arab Independence. This secret meeting happened in 1916 but wasn’t exposed until pretty much after the war was coming to an end around November of 1917. After the War was over, the British, via Prime Minister David Lloyd George and Arthur James Balfour (British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs), sprung it on Hussein that they intended to keep their promise in allowing Arab independence, but that they were going to form an independent Jewish State in Palestine, to which Hussein responded by saying this below :
“I will not accept an independent Jewish State in Palestine, nor was I instructed that such a state was contemplated by Great Britain beforehand.” (end)
In other words, not only did the Allied forces break their promises to Hussein (they basically deceived him into helping the Allied Forces in WW1) by usurping authority over certain areas that Sir Henry McMahon had promised to Hussein after the war (the Balfour Agreement was in stark contrast with what Britain via Sir McMahon offered the Arabs and Hussein), but also, the Sykes-Picot secret Agreement between France and UK, was exposed showing that the two countries were planning to split and occupy parts of the promised Arab country. The whole matter is discussed in “The Peel Report of 1937.” Essentially the Arabs got tricked into fighting on the side of the Allies, via BROKEN PROMISES.
One more point to mention, during a War Cabinet meeting on policy regarding Syria and Palestine held in 1918, it was stated that Palestine had been included in the areas the United Kingdom had pledged would be Arab and independent in the future. Lord Curzon (Viceroy and Governor-General of India), also noted that the rights that had been granted to the French under the terms of the Sykes–Picot Agreement, was in violation of the provisions of the Reglement Organique Agreements (which was an Agreement from 1861-1864) and the war aims of the other Allies. (The publication and exposing of the Sykes–Picot Agreement caused the resignation of Sir Henry McMahon.).
The regime occupying Israel, are Zionists and special interest groups from those Allied Forces who won WW1 (particularly Britain). The whole charade was one big POWER MOVE / LAND GRAB, not by Jews, but by a conglomeration of British / American bureaucrats that wanted to control the area. They couldn’t do that with a truly independent Arabian Palestinian state. (Again, GOD is in Control, no matter how things look. His word will accomplish that which it was sent to do. We don’t understand the spiritual forces at work, heck we don’t even understand the forces we see at work. REST in GOD. He is well able.)
Ahmadinejad stated that his true goal was peace in the Palestine region, and the solution to peace, was to allow a referendum vote on new leaders, not ones instituted by the Zionist Oligarchs who TRULY control the area (not the Jews).

The leaders of that region are liars and deceivers, just like they were after WW1, by lying to Hussein and the Arabs. (Tell me what leaders are not liars? The wealthy control everything and never tell us the truth. There are no righteous leaders, and the people always lose.) They never planned on helping the Arabs gain independence, nor do they truly care about a Jewish State in Israel. Speaking of ‘hegemony’, they only care about their own political / economic power over that region. They don’t really care about creating a safe-haven for Jews. This was all a political plot to garner control of the region and destabilize and restructure the entire Middle East for their own agenda. (Again, what the evil means for evil, GOD will turn for Good. HIS purpose will always prevail.) This agenda has been ongoing for quite some time now, and is coming to a head. For example, in 1997, The PNAC (Project for the New American Century, headed by people like Dick Cheney) program said :

The regime of Saddam Hussein must be toppled immediately, by U.S. force if necessary. And the entire Middle East must be reordered according to an American plan. (Are you kidding? The British and American Central Secret Agencies, created an entire special operation plan to oust him from office because of this. It was known as Operation Ajax. This is what led to the Ayatolla coming to power.
Just like they lied and deceived after WW1, and just like they blew up their own towers on 9/11, to go in and restructure the entire Middle East, they (strategically through black ops. stealth) ousted a democratically elected leader in Iran in 1953, by besmirching his reputation and making claims about Mohammed Mossadeq that were not true, which caused a coup d’etat, overturning the entire regime. It wasn’t for anything more than special British and American (ZIONIST) interests in the region.
There’s a religious component to all this too, which is why I believe Scofield and John Nelson Darby created Dispensational / Futurist Christian doctrines in the mid to late 1800s. They wanted to set the stage for Christian support of Jews forming a state in Palestine / Israel again. What better way than to trick ignorant Christians (I don’t mean that disparagingly, Christians were kept in the dark about Preterist Eschatology by their preachers and pastors), into believing they are living in the “END TIMES / LAST DAYS” and the only way Christ can come back is through Jews repopulating Palestine (from the Nile to the Euphrates is their ultimate aim outlined in the OT) and a third Jewish temple being built (and re-destroyed) in Israel!
